Came here late (ok fine, 9pm) for dinner with some out of town visitors. We got a sampling of food ranging from the prime rib to the cheeseburger, and all of it is excellent. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and the place is clean. I'll definitely be back. I'd say the only thing losing one star is the loudness of the music. It was a few notches too loud for easy conversation. We loved the choice of music (classic rock) but would have loved it a little softer. We will definitely come back. Ok, so this is a gastropub, not a Michelin Starred restaurant, but I couldn't ask for more in a gastropub. The menu was solid, offering things you always love, but kicked up a notch. For example, the Howling Wolf burger, with buffalo NY sauce, or the Billy Goat Chicken, a grilled chicken sandwich with standard delicious toppings of a grilled chicken sandwich (cheese, roasted red peppers) and Kalamata olives. Of our party of 4, every single person was so contented with their own meal, they didn't want to even try anyone else's order. There was also a solid selection of beers on tap, and a full bar, so everyone was able to find a beverage to their own taste. Would most certainly come back here next time we need a delicious bite, and something to drink. Oh, almost posted this without this comment - the fries were exceptional! Went to Plan B with my wife. Outside of the ear shattering music, the food was very good. We shared the hot wings. While lacking the flavor from being smoked that you get from Finks, they were very good, and were spiced right. Outside of Finks, the best in the area. We both had burgers, and they were cooked perfectly. Good fries, great fried pickles and cole slaw too. Prices are incredibly reasonable and the service was excellent, even though our wonderful waitress had a broken arm. If I can find some decent earplugs, I will definitely be back. read more

Plan B.....more like Plan Z especially on a Saturday night! I wish i could have given this place more stars but unfortunately there wasn't enough good to make up for what went wrong here. First off the music is way too loud i can't even hear what my girlfriend is saying across from me, next is our "wonderful" waitress. I don't want to sound rude but a screen door in a submarine does it's job better than she does waitressing. It took over an hour to get two burgers all be it they were good no better than a five guys though, but mine was made incorrectly which they promptly fixed. On top of this it took over an hour to get a refill on our drinks...which was Diet Coke. I wish i could say it was because she was short staffed and it was crazy busy, but it was not. There was only a family of four sitting down same time as us. The last bit and the icing on the cake is we only came here because my girlfriend and I just ran a spartan race and she was craving pickle chips. This being the closest place with them we came here and ordered them right away. Well our meals came and guess what....no pickle chips ‍‍. So I asked the waitress and she admits she forgot to put them in and she will get them right away. Well when she came back our "appetizer" of pickle chips was a stack of a few pickles semi-fried nothing like the entire basket and dipping sauce that was pictured on someone's review. Plan B is amazing! Not only is their food so amazing but their staff is too! We have been there many times to eat and the food never disappoints. The food is soooo good, I mean it! We have not been there since the virus but decided to order one of their holiday meals for a family on Christmas. The manager went above and beyond to make sure this family had a delicious Christmas dinner with all the sides and dessert. They even personally delivered it on Christmas Day. Who does that??? Birth control? Nah, but this place was great. The staff was really nice. Hief(?) the bartender was cool. The CHEF came out and he was cool! The food way exceeded my expectations. I got a Cuban sandwich, my boyfriend got the pulled beef on a roll, both were delicious. The fries are amazing too, I'm a sucker for good fries. I judge hard. And they're awesome. There is a TouchTunes jukebox to play music which I will always take full advantage of, a pool table, darts, a charging station for your phone, an old school bowling game, a couple big TVs. OMG! Just ordered burgers to take out. They were ready in 20 min and so delicious. They came with hand cut French fries, and we added onion rings and fried pickles. My son and I were thrilled with everything!! This will def be our Plan B for American food . 10/22/17 Went for dinner again tonight, and was once again thrilled!! Buffalo chicken wings were big and juicy and crispy . Perfect sauce, and amount of sauce . Also tried veggie spring rolls, and they were light , crispy and tasty. Son had short rib sliders and said they were delicious . And he is extremely picky .. French fries are hand cut and never disappoint. We went in and ordered take out, all food ready in 15 minutes. I went there for an engagement party and I was very impressed. The place was clean and the staff was amazing. They where very attentive. There was free beer, wine, or soda at the party and the staff didn't hold back on the drinks. The food was amazing. It was nice to see the kitchen staff always making sure there was enough food. Since the first night my girlfriend and I walked in, we have been made to feel welcome every time we walk through the door. The bartender Steve is very friendly and is one of the big reasons we keep coming back. There is a good selection of beers on tap and all the standard ones are available as well. The liqueur selection is full of great choices and I always find something new. As for the food, it is really good! The sandwiches and burgers are all really good and we find something new and interesting almost every time we come in. The Guinness cheese sauce is really really good! This place is like your great corner bar, darts, music and a pool table. So easy to relax here and enjoy your drink and meet new people. OK, let's apply a little logic to this situation. Because there was no parking at Mahwah Bar and Grill on a Saturday @ 7 PM, I was after a decent burger and a beer. Not a tall order in my gastronomic world, but certainly an important task to execute. What I got was not that. First, what is this place? A restaurant? Umm, no, because the explicit type music blaring from the bar, the smoker camped outside the front door, the lack of a waitress in the dining room that has a pool table in it, the smelly bathroom, all these facts point to a dive bar. But are they a bar? A dining room with really nice faux leather booths with black cloth tablecloths, elegant chairs and a menu that offers entrees like a NY strip steak. These luxuries have no place in a dive bar. But let's get to the food: we ordered the soft pretzels with Guinness cheese sauce. Frozen and ho hum, the sauce was a darker color of Cheez Whiz, not impressed. My wife liked her Billy Goat Chicken sandwich, hence the 1extra star. My daughter's chicken tenders were standard frozen, over-breaded and dry, served with honey mustard sauce. My Morning After burger was ordered medium rare, and delivered hockey puck well done, basically inedible. Here is the best part of our experience: the waitress / bartender/ bus person, Krystal, who is responsible for the additional star. She was hauling butt, trying to keep up with serving the bar AND the dining room, taking orders, arguing with the kitchen staff to get the orders executed properly and apologizing for the food as a result of the kitchen execution errors. Two tables got up and left while we were there. It is clear that the owners are inexperienced and didn't commit the proper amount of money to get this project off the ground successfully. I can imagine John Taffer ripping these people a new one. How else can you explain no waitress in the dining room on a Saturday night? How else can you explain no backup plan (Plan B?) in case your only waitress called out sick? How else can you explain putting out poor quality and poorly executed food? This place might survive if they decide what they want to be and take steps to improve their performance in that endeavor. For my money, this is a place to avoid. Forget Plan B, go to Plan C. read more

Went here on a Thursday night 3 weeks ago, and it was good. The Tito's and Soda was a little pricey at 8.50 even during happy hour, but I smiled and moved on. The wings were crispy and sauced properly. I was a little disappointed that these were their hottest wings, without needing a waiver to be signed, and I would say they were a 6 on a scale from 1 - 10 of hotness. To start, we waited for nearly 20 min for our waiter to even introduce himself to our table (on a very slow Saturday night) and our drink order to be taken. Then, my group of five waited for over an hour for our food to be served. The wait staff didn't offer any explanation or something to tide us over. Most alarmingly, we were not even offered an apology. While I feel for the waiter (there was only one to support the entire restaurant and bar back), the lack of appreciation for the wait was unacceptable. Sick of the same old thing so we decided to try this place Friday night since it was under new name and menu. Our server, Donna, had a great personality, she was very witty and knowledgeable of the menu. We all ordered glasses of wine, which were filled to the top, not skimpy like other places. We all got some version of their burger, which are angus beef and you can taste the difference in quality. They were accompanied by lettuce, tomato onion and a few fried pickles which were perfectly fried. The fries were also good. We also shared the homemade bread pudding which was delicious. Moist and not over cooked. There was a pool table and large tvs all around to watch sporting events on which was nice. Seemed like a lot of regulars at the bar. My wife and I stopped in Plan B after voting, as usual they have a great beer selection, but more importantly after recently acquiring a new chef, Fletcher has been upping his game when it comes to the menu. I had a cup of my new favorite soup of all time, " stuffed pepper ", and I now can't wait for those coming cold winter weekends when I can load up on it and just kick back and enjoy. And by the way, I watched a another patron and the bartender playing Rockem Sockem Robots at the bar, how cool was that. I haven't seen one of those in over forty years. We love this place for Burgers, CRAB Cakes, and Prime Rib Sliders-their hot crunchy fries and Cole slaw are great sides that come with everything. Love the vibe. Great chef and staff. Reasonably priced. It has the ambiance of a fun local bar with booths. We don't drink but come for the food which says a lot. Multiple times I have had a bad experience there. There food is not good. I live locally and have stopped there to play quick draw. 1st time the bartender did not know how to print out previous games. I let that go but made them aware that it may affect there tip. 2nd occasion the bartender/ General Manager did not run my lottery tickets through the lottery machine that chimes if you win. He used the customers scammer to see in which you cannot hear if you won , in which at that time I was told I was a problem. Lastly, went in about a week and a half ago and had past tickets and also played new tickets. The Bartender informed me that I won $20.00 and never gave me my money. So I said something in a nice way and then she checked and brings me $10.00 and I said it's $20.00. With that being said the manager comes up to me and throws a $20.00 bill at me and gets the owner and I am trying to explain and the manager tells the owner it's me or her. Owner goes with so called manager that threw money at me and calls the police. Police come, I explained what happened and of course they tell me I can leave after checking my license but not to come back. Currently right now I'm in progress with nys lottery. Don't believe the hype-- The reviews we read on Yelp before visiting Plan B were a gross overstatement based on our experience this evening. Not only was the sole waiter also bar backing, but on a slow Saturday night (there were three total tables of seated guests), we waited over an hour for subpar food served with no apology for the wait... or for ultimately being incorrect. We found Plan B on Yelp while on a recent road trip. The food was tasty and hit the spot after a long day on the road. We had the beef sliders and the BBQ brisket. The pub fries were well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. We quenched our thirst with a Sloop Juice Bomb and a Fat Tire from a good selection of beer on tap. The gastropub just recently opened after the shut down due to the Coronavirus. Fletcher the owner and Will the GM gave us excellent customer service and made sure that all COVID safety precautions were being honored. To top it off we were given a chip for a free beer for our next visit. We will be sure to use it. read more

I am not sure why this place has such high ratings. We stopped here to eat on a Sunday afternoon as per a 4.5 stars on yelp. When we arrived we were disappointed as it was not even a dive bar but worse. To be safe we ordered chicken fingers ans wings. Thinking how could the chef mess that up. The chicken fingers arrived still frozen in the center. Then they took them back and we recieved my half bitten in piece back after they were dumped in the fryer. The wings were good,but after knowing the issue with the chicken fingers,we didnt enjoy them. The bartender was apologetic and offered us a round,but we wanted to leave . After we recieved the bill, my husband signed the reciept and then realized the bartender still had his credit card.Dont waste your time. read more

Service was really really good, got to play free darts and that was that was really nice, but the food was a little bit disappointing. Thai chili wings were in a really watery sauce not the normal sticky sauce you are used to having, the salad left a little bit to be desired, and the burger was all right but a really greasy and not grilled but was fried on the griddle. read more

I really wanted to like Plan B and support a local business, but it really wasn't very good and we will not return. The menu sounded more interesting than the actual food tasted.
