I suggest you head towards the houses, away from town, if you can't find a spot. I've been anxious to try this place as the pictures look solid enough and reviewers thus far seem content. My wife and I entered with plans to have beer and apps. We ended up getting Guinness, onion rings, fried calamari and the Cooper's Burger. You can't beat a 22oz Guinness for $8. The prices on their website also match what you'll see inside. Lately I find so many restaurants are charging more than they advertise online. Service was great, friendly and very attentive. I was also surprised to see how well they clean tables between customers. Spray, wipe table, wipe lamp, shakers, etc. It's totally clean for the next customer. There are only 8 or so tables in here, plus bar seating. We enjoyed some comfy seats at a high top table for two. The onion rings were great - crisp and battered nicely so they hold together. While almost a little overcooked, they were still good and better than I had at the last high end steakhouse I went to. The fried calamari was fairly priced and a good portion. It had a light crispness, though bigger pieces would've been nicer. They were mostly small, but certainly a lot of it. The accompanying marinara was good and plentiful. We got the Cooper's Burger cooked medium and it came out medium. It's a simple burger that comes with lettuce and tomato. Some red onion wouldn't been nice. They charge extra for all sorts of stuff you can get on top - fried mushrooms, fried onions, eggs, etc. It also comes with fries, which were good. Overall, it was a nice cozy time. Several middle aged couples ate here that night and a couple small groups. No loud bar crowds as they're all on central avenue. In fact, I was surprised how nice the acoustics were inside. You can hear people at your table no problem, can hear the music inside at the right level and don't hear a lot of background chatter or noise. I'd most certainly return if in the mood for pub food. And ... No credit card fee!

They didn't complain while they were there, but I reached out to the restaurant the following day via email to share what had happened. I was extremely impressed with the response from the restaurant manager, Joseph Verrengia. He contacted me personally, listened to my concerns, and explained that his team took ownership of what happened. What impressed me most was that Joseph didn't just apologize--he explained the specific steps he had taken with his staff to help ensure other guests have a better experience going forward. I know that things don't always go perfectly at a restaurant, but how management responds when there is a problem says a lot. Joseph handled the situation professionally and with excellent customer service. His follow-up completely changed our impression of the experience. My son and his friends returned last night and enjoyed Pizookies!

I'm updating this review mostly to add more photos, but have been enjoying hanging out here for a coffee & pastry while catching up on emails or just taking in the peaceful surroundings, meeting friends for lunch, and most recently returned for one of their lively Friday night dinners with music on the outdoor patio (indoors if the weather is uncooperative). They are now open for dinner 5 nights a week in the summer! The menu is seasonal and changes often, with daily specials and some staples. The food is hearty and wholesome, and I love their salads. Relaxed atmosphere, family friendly, BYOB.

The quiche for example tasted like something i would make, though not sure if that's a good thing or not (ha). The chicken shawarma ($14) was pretty good though the pita could have been softer; it had eggplant, onions and mushroom as well. Quite enjoyed the strawberry cupcake - light and airy. They have glasses of tap water in the fridge which you can help yourself to and you bus your own tables by putting your silverware and plates in a pan. They have a very small parking lot that says 20 minute parking. We parked at the school next to it so hopefully that was ok. Not sure where all the customers were parking as the official lot was full.
