Extremely disappointed in yesterday's visit to Plan B, a place I have enjoyed for years. My order burger on the grass, I am gluten free. Unlike previous visits this was served on a disk that was a thin slice of lettuce rather that a hunk as I've had in the past. Additionally, the burger was very crumbly quite like meat cookie crumbs. How the heck could the consistency of your burgers change so much? This combination made for a sloppy mess with each bite difficult to get on the fork as the plate was thin & long with no edges. I imagine that no one on kitchen or wait staff ever tried this combo or I am sure they would realize it was ridiculous. Sadly, this will be our last trip to Plan B. Waiter Tom was marvelous as usual. Plan B is over-rated and over-priced. Many other great burger + beer options in Milford CT. Including... Hair of the Dog, Dive Bar and Dockside Brewery which are all top-notch. We arrived for lunch around 12:15, Monday, Jan 16, 2023 with 2 other friends. Just looking for great burgers, and upon being seated, we were informed that they were out of a "few" items. Waiter pointed to a table tent-card with pre-printed list of literally a 10+ items they did not have. No fish whatsoever, cod, shrimp, nothing. Also, no avocado, tomato, mushrooms, mozz, quinoa, a few cheeses, olives, and several others. And... keep in mind, there is a Whole Foods literally 500 feet from this restaurant in the same shopping plaza! The manager did not think to send someone over that morning to grab what the reg. food service didn't deliver?? Instead of the time to print the tent cards of what they didn't have... maybe just walk over to the store? 3 burger orders and 1 chix sand. NO ONE was impressed and we prob won't return. We were seated promptly and our server was very friendly. The food was very, very bland, lukewarm (at best) and the fries were definitely undercooked. My burger also did not come on the advertised bread. The first time we came to Plan B Burger Bar was right before COVID hit, I definitely remember the food being much better at that time. Decided burgers were the food of choice so back to Plan B I went. Ordered a couple apps both of which were quite good. The cauliflower and shrimp provided a solid range of sweet and spicy. Followed the appetizers up with a breakfast burger on a pretzel bun which was cooked to perfection. When in the mood for a very good burger, Plan B is a solid choice. Made a second stop back to what is slowly becoming one of my favorite places to go to. Though I am not a big hamburger person, when I am, this is the place for me. Fantastic tasting food. Always a great visit here. Our server was cool and attentive. Food was amazing. Ordered nachos to start. The chips were crispy and tasteful. The cheese was perfect. Jalapeños were fresh. What I enjoyed the most is that they used cheese sauce instead of your regular cheese. After a while the regular cheese gardens and the nachos are nearly impossible to eat. I ordered a 3 Shrooms burger. The truffle mayo was delicious. Burger was cooked to my liking. And the side of loaded disco toys add bacon were on point as always. My mother and I hadn't been out to lunch for while and decided to go to Plan B yesterday. We both decided on the burger salad. She chose fries and I had sweet potato fries. It was soooo good! The sweet potato fries added the perfect amount of sweetness and I finished the whole thing which was surprising. I couldn't help it, it was just that good! We walked in an a hostess immediately greeted us and helped put us on the waiting list with a mobile alert. This was great since this allowed us to look around the plaza. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was very nice and clean. We ordered the breakfast burger and the chipotle burger pink with truffle fries and tater tots. It patty very fresh, but it did lack a bit of flavor. I ordered the chipotle sauce on the side because the server said it was very spicy. However, it wasn't too spicy for me personally, but I can see how it can get very spicy. It doesn't have much of a taste, but more of a after burning sensation in the tongue. Overall the food was pretty good. I did not feel disgusting after eating the burger, but felt quite satisfied. The tater tots were a bit too oily compared to the fries, but I have a bias against tater tots since it's a childhood favorite of mine. Before we got our food the staff also gave us some picked cucumbers. However, they were salty rather than sour(which is more of my thing) Overall, this was a great experience and the food was not bad. I might come again to try another burger. read more

My hisband and I have eaten here before and its usually really good. This time, a Sunday evening, it wasnt the case. Maybe they have new staff. But, we were seated promptly and our server came over right away to take drink orders. He was very friendly and personable. We ordered a pretzel burger with fries and sliders with tator tots along with chips to start. Their homemade chips are really good. Our food came out and my sliders looked a bit dark, like maybe burnt a bit. But they tasted fine. I ate 1 and hate to spit out a piece of fat. I carefully ate the second, 1 piece with a fork. The pork wasn't as much pulled pork as it was cut up. The second slider was 2 chunks of fat. Mu stomach turned and I couldn't eat more. Luckily the tots were delicious. When the server asked if I needed a to go box I showed him the fat. He asked to replace it, but at this point I could bring myself to eat more. Came here on a Sunday for dinner around 5pm. Ordered the fish and chips and a bleu cheese burger. The fish came out crispy and hot. First few pieces were good but the 3rd piece had a chemical ammonia smell/ taste. Obviously spoiled fish. There was a 4th piece the same way. Absolutely not ok. The burger was cooked well done even though I ordered it with "some pink" but the bbq sauce and onions made it taste good. Both were served with fries that tasted at least an hour old. Limp and only warm, not hot and crispy. We alerted the server of our issue with the fish and he brought it back. The manager came over and apologized profusely and offered a free desert and comp the fish. We tried the desert once we got home about 20 minutes later and the desert was borderline frozen still. So you know those deserts aren't fresh either! Good thing it was free cause we took one bite and threw it out. Haven't been in a while, sat at the bar 745p on a Monday... bartender was doing as good as she good. She had the entire lounge area and bar... so about 18 ppl at lounge tables maybe and 6 of us at the bar. The restaurant seemed slow otherwise. Why not have the hostess, greet her tables and get them water? Servers and bartenders tip hostess right? Or have the hostess or manager help just to start or finish tables. Send the busser in to help clear the tables. She would be able to better serve her guests if small help was given to her thus upselling and making herself and the establishment more money. Not to mention better service. The best restaurants and bars are the ones who treat the last hour of service the same as the rest. Otherwise my buffalo shrimp were very tasty. Stopped by here tonight after trying to decide a nice low key spot for some drinks and food. Haven't been here in a while and wanted to try it out again. Arrived around 9:30pm and was not very busy at all; quickly got seats at the bar with only one other person sitting. Bar tender was super lethargic and no energy. Asked how he was doing and he replied "bored". Ok then... Reviewed the drink menu and then decided to sit at a booth and get away from the depression of the bar. Sat down and took way too long to get service. Finally waitress came by and ordered a bourbon and friend ordered a razz specialty drink. That drink came out and was FILLED with crushed ice, small glass, and barely any actual drink in it; was gone in minutes. My bourbon was fine, although this is a bourbon and burger spot and no large ice cubes, only small crushed ice. Bourbon deserves a large cube or ball; come on people. Food came out and was highly unimpressive. Wings were bland, dry, and felt like from a frozen box. Lobster Parmesan dip was nothing special but did appreciate the pieces of actual lobster; super small portion though. Jalapeño poppers were undercooked, totally inconsistent, and bland. OK..Plan B Burgar Bar is an elegant and upscale looking burger and beer bar in Milford. They are known for their burgers.When they first opened I loved them but not so much anymore. The last time I was here was with a group of friends. I ordered Nachos instead of a burger and they were pretty bad. Basically I thought they would be cooked like at a Mexican place and they were not. They were almost like chips with some cheese on them. Pretty basic stuff. It was disappointing. The burgers however are good but I sometimes like to have non burger items in a burger bar. That being said, I do love the set up. It's very pretty inside(see pics) and it has such a great atmosphere. Ample parking too. Staff are always on their A game. The other thing that has made me kind of avoid this place..the music. They (sometimes) play loud music..mostly hip hop that I have heard. Nothing wrong with some music but a few times it has been way to loud. Kind of takes away from the overall relaxing vibe...or at least it did the last few times I went. The surroundings are nice and elegant and I especially loved sitting near the windows but sometimes with the music going it is really hard to hear yourself talk. Recently went to Plan B after not coming in forever! I think last time I came was shortly after they opened. I ordered the Tavern classic with American (cheese is extra btw) and truffle fries. My bf had a naked burger and tots. The burger was ok, but found that it basically fell apart when I was trying to eat it. Special sauce was delicious, fries were ok. They were covered in truffle oil but maybe a little too much. My boyfriend liked his burger and he got his tots extra crispy so was happy they came out as expected. The two things you can always say about Plan B is that their burgers are delicious and for most people require a fork, knife and multiple napkins. On this trip, I got their special burger, The Basic Burger which features apple butter and pumpkin spiced bacon and I've gotta say it's probably now my second favorite burger on their menu. The richness of the burger is perfectly balanced by the sweetness of the apple butter. We got to go and had a gift card. Their online ordering system doesn't allow for payment with gift cards but the hostess was more than willing to take our order over the phone and process our payment when we got there. While this was an improved experience, the reasons for a 4 star rating are the following, we asked for all burgers to have no pink and they all had pink and by the time that we made the 10 minute ride home, our fries were sadly cold. In addition to the burgers, these Fries were what we were looking forward to. The burgers were still hot though. I was also disappointed that they took their Mac and cheese off the menu which was my favorite thing to order when I wasn't in the mood for a burger. I went here with my wife today. The experience was terrible. I had a chili cheeseburger and she had the chicken sandwich with bacon. With two side salads I've been to the one in Stamford years ago and it was a good place when the food came out; My burger was cold. My wife's chicken sandwich the bacon was cold and dried up. So, unfortunately we had to send it back when the sandwiches came back they were OK but they just put the chicken Patty back in the fryer in which it dried it out. I've been back to Plan B a few times in that time. First time....service was great, but my burger came out completely wrong. Again. Next times...service sucked and my food came out okay. My burger was pretty good. Not the best burger I had in Milford but worth the trip. This was my second time eating these burgers, first time dining in. I must admit, I wasn't thrilled with the decor as much but what made the visit (and a 4th star) was the service. My server, Thomas was on point. He was always checking in, making sure things were good, made a few jokes with the kiddos and was always attentive. They should have more waiters like this! The food itself, solid burgers, love the fact they serve tater tots which I don't find too often in other burger joints. The prices were decent. In terms of decor, nothing special. WOW! Plan B Burger Bar REALLY exceeded my expectations! My husband has been nagging me to go, and being that i don't eat meat I have always argued not to. Tonight i threw in the towel and said okay. The service was SPECTACULAR! Thomas was our waiter and he couldn't have been more attentive and personable. He gave us great opinions on the menu and to my husband who really likes his craft beers. I had the organic veggie burger on a croissant bun with truffle mayo and a side of truffle parm fries. The bun is clearly house made. The portions were excellent, the food came out fast, and very fresh! They were probably the best truffle fries i have had in a while because they actually really tasted like truffle, it wasn't just a small hint. My husband had the breakfast burger with a turkey patty. He really enjoyed it! He especially liked the maple mayo! The restaurant is very clean with a very cool interior. We walked over to the bar which was really cute (i didn't take a pic) they have couches for large crowds and pretty chandeliers. The bathrooms were clean. And the place is open til 1AM!!! Food's good. The burgers are flavorful. Service is solid and friendly. My Super Salad was fresh and delivered on taste and texture. It smells in here, though. I suspect that the carpet, which is the exact right color to show absolutely nothing, takes more than its fair share of abuse under spilled beer and other drinks, and doesn't get spot cleaned at all thanks to its strengths. I had lunch at Plan b on several occasions and keep coming back so I must be pleased with the food and service. The decor is creative - all about the beef but I find it a little creepy as there are meat hooks used for the lighting. Perhaps I watch a few too many horror movies as I found that they intimidate me. The burgers however are awesome and the beef Wellington is outrageously delicious. My fav is the firecracker cauliflower which is a great dish to share. I found the apps to be large enough to share. Good selection on tap for beer lovers and a sizable bottle & can selection to boot. Outstanding. It is clear that this resturant knows how to craft the perfect burger. I've heard about Plan B for years from friends and co-workers but I'm ashamed I didn't experience it sooner. The burger that is! You can tell the patty isn't frozen. The cheese was melted to the bun. The way the patty looks in the advertisement, is how it fit in my hand. And it was a big burger! Juicy, tender..fresh lettuce and tomato, and it was slightly messy, but delightfully so. I purposely ordered something somewhat basic. A bacon cheese burger. It was awesome. Eh....I figured it would be a good place to cool down on a super hot day and enjoy a late lunch. We went in around 1:30/2 on a week day, and there were only a couple other parties there. It took a bit to place our order, but it was almost 30 minutes to get our assortment of apps that we were sharing. The food was ok....nothing I'd run back for, though I'd say the Buffalo shrimp were the best of the 4 we ordered. The Caesar Salad was bland, the sliders were not very tasty, and the chicken tenders were decent, but nothing to write home about. We were never approached as to how the food was, nor were we asked if we needed a refill on our drinks. After eating and sitting there for another 10 minutes waiting...., we had to go into the bar to ask for our check. I know that restaurants (like most businesses these days) are finding difficulties in staffing, but there were 3 employees standing at the bar conversing, so the lack of help doesn't work in this case. There are way too many options on that stretch of Route 1 to make me go back for a sub par meal with sub par service. read more

We were asked to come back a second time & give Plan B another chance. The last time I felt they deserved a 3 1/2 star rating, but since that wasn't an option, gave them a 4. I'm giving them another 4. The food was just...basic. My husband's hamburger was fine, my caesar salad was absolutely nothing special. The onion rings & fries were good. Our waitress was friendly & knowledgable and the decor of the restaurant is comfortably trendy.
