This was such an awesome find! A quick search for local hot spots and 7 Seas came up. We were so impressed. First of all, the service was amazing. Super nice, attentive and took great care of us! We never needed for anything. Sadly I didn't get this name but a younger guy dark hair. 12 stars out of 5. The food was to die for! Every single bite was phenomenal. We leaned heavily into the lobster and we were not disappointed. It tasted like someone got our order, walked into the ocean, caught fresh lobster and cooked it just for us. We stopped in for a quick drink. It's a relatively small restaurant/bar with nice wood accents. The bar area also has a few two top tables besides the bar stool that are all wood with armrests. Our bartender didn't introduce herself, so no idea of her name but she is an attractive straight haired blond. She appeared to be serving both the bar and restaurant wow. She was "on it" as far as service. Also very professional and sincerely kind. We had already eaten but a couple next to us mentioned how delicious the lobster rolls were and their friend recommended the fish n chips. The Lobster roll far exceeded my expectations as it was Pure Lobster with abundant of drawn butter to enhance the savory claws of lobster that were loaded into the perfectly toasted and proportioned roll/bread boat. The New England Clam Chowder was the best choice for a starter on the cold wintery northeastern night. The Pub environment with its sea weathered and aged interior added to the New England Lobster Roll experience. Asked someone who lives in Milford to recommend seafood spot and they tossed out 7 Seas. Well I stopped in for lunch and I was greeted well, they are not fancy/Pub like but friendly and the food was amazing. I got great service and free popcorn. I ordered the lobster roll, fries and slaw. Needless to say it was all very good. Again not a fancy place but clean and friendly. Who needs fancy when the food is good and you feel welcome? I'm not in Milford often but I will certainly stop in again when in town to eat there. I want to go back and try the fried seafood the next time. Can I just say those french fries are EVERYTHING. Lobster rolls is how I roll all summer long when lunching in Fairfield and New Haven Counties in CT. They have some of the best I've eaten including Westchester County and Long Island. I'll start by saying my favorite is the CT style warm with butter but I will also eat the ME cold mayo version on occasion. Since it was my first lobster roll of the season I had to get the CT style. This restaurant served both claw and tail meat not the measly leg meat some places pawn off. It was served on a toasted hot-dog style bun which is also my preference. I didn't eat the bread so it shouldn't have made a difference but most times I do eat the bread. I take stars off if they serve it on a round roll and probably wouldn't return to that restaurant. Luckily for me 7 Seas served it just the way I like it. Melted butter on the side. The bun wasn't soaked in butter so it held up as a sandwich should you want to dive right in. At $32 MP I thought it was reasonable. The plate came with fries but I upgraded to a salad for $3 more. The salad was good but I wasn't a fan of the honey mustard dressing I asked for. It was the kind of sauce you dunk chicken nuggets or tenders with so not a salad dressing. I did ask for another dressing which I should have tasted before I dowsed the salad as I wasn't a fan of that either. My husband got the lightly breaded fried cod sandwich on a roll. Their was a a tasty tartar sauce spooned on top with lettuce and tomato. It came with fries, cole slaw and a pickle spear. He proclaimed the sandwich a winner. I tasted the fries and they were very good. Not your usual fries, they were more pillowy but still had a crunch. I really like cole slaw on the side whenever I have a fish meal so appreciated it but it was nothing outstanding. We found street parking no more than a block away. The restaurant is a quaint nautical themed pub restaurant with dark wood inside the restaurant and bar. I don't know what was in the Bloody Mary but it was very very good. Spicy with a hint of sweet. I'm sorry I didn't have one after I tasted my husbands. I would recommend this restaurant and someday will return. read more

Grabbed takeout from here, a hot buttered lobster roll with fries. For the lobster, it was a mixture of tough and rubbery, and juicy but chewy. When eaten as a whole, the roll was adequate, with the bun being buttered but not soaking. The fries were like Jojo fries, but that was their downfall as they weren't cooked fully and were quite hard. If you're in the area you might grab this but I can't recommend traveling for it. 9th place of 13 lobster rolls we tried in CT this summer. read more

Leaving this review on behalf of my mother who doesn't have a Yelp account but wanted to share her deeply disappointing experience at 7Seas Restaurant. Upon arrival, no one was available at the hostess stand to greet or seat my mom and her husband, so they sat themselves at a table by the door while waiting for their teacher colleagues to arrive. An older blonde waitress soon approached them and curtly stated, "If you are not going to be a party of five, then you need to move." When my mother explained that her colleagues would be arriving shortly, the woman scoffed. Once they arrived as promised, the waitress returned to take their orders. When they began sharing their order, she snapped, "Wait, I'm not ready yet!" as she was pulled out her notepad. The entire group was taken aback by her sharp tone and unmistakably bad mood. To make matters worse, the party included an 86‑year‑old woman, the mother of one of the 4 teachers present, who was treated with the same lack of decency. While the food itself was decent, this could not compensate for the rude, unwelcoming service and overall unpleasant atmosphere. The group left feeling disrespected and all agreed they would not be returning. A restaurant that prioritizes basic kindness could have redeemed the meal--but this visit was ruined by a poor attitude and poor hospitality. Would not recommend. read more

7 Seas, if I could give them more than 5 stars I would, that's how good our meal was last night. This is typically the go to place for seafood in Milford as it's a local spot that serves up the best fish around. We started out with the potato skins for an app, we usually don't get these but now I can't imagine not getting them. They were served up wedge style, crispy bacon and melted cheese with sour cream and dill to dip it, simply magnificent. I selected the fish and chips for my entree while my wife got the lobster roll. Fish and chips were perfectly breaded and was a delectable piece of cod, fries always wedges cooked nicely to pair with them. They give you three good size pieces of cod you will not leave hungry for sure. My wife got her lobster roll and loved it, hefty portion of lobster and melted butter. Service may take some time but honestly that is because they are cooking it to order, well worth the wait. This pub is located in downtown so your best bet is to park either in the Colony lot or find a parking spot on the side of the street in the green and take a casual stroll on over, so worth it. read more

We came here once before for lobster rolls and thought they were the best we've had, so that's what brought us back. Let me tell you: coming here is one of the greatest food decision we've made this past few months. My friend had recommended coming here for their lobster roll deal. You can order their lobster rolls single or double (and waitress recommended you can share the double). It's market price but when we were there Sep 2021 it was $49.99 for double rolls. It came with huge bowl of cole slaw and potato wedges. I absolutely loved the slaw, it wasn't covered in heavy mayo like most places - it's very light sauce/seasoning, you don't feel gross after eating it. The lobster rolls are the best I've had when you factor in the value. $49.99 = $25 each!? And the lobsters are overflowing on the rolls! We had to eat half of the lobster meat with fork on the plate. They only serve their rolls warm with melted butter (which they provide on a separate container so you can control how much butter you want). We were dipping the extra lobsters pieces in the butter! The rolls they used aren't exactly the classic sub buns, it reminded me more of a Texas Toast texture - which gave it an extra crunch and was so delicious. The potato wedges are good old potato, taste just right. We were so amazed by how much food you get for the price. The staffs were all very friendly. They don't have onsite parking but there's a parking lot not far down the street behind one of the restaurants plazas (not the one right across). What a great find! My wife and I were looking for a spot to try and stumbled across this gem. So, for starters it's a local type hometown pub/eatery. The food was outstanding. We had soup to start, French onion and clam chowder. Both were done great, chowder had a great fresh seafood flavor. French onion had a great beef broth , onions melted in your mouth and the bread was awesome! Wife had the lobster roll and it was bangin! Served hot with butter, lobster was fresh. I had clam strips and they were the best I have eaten, they were fried lightly to perfection. The fries were done well. They definitely used separate oil to fry the seafood. Which makes a difference. They know what they are doing there. The waitress was awesome, she was very kind and pleasant. We were sooooo impressed by her, she was serving and cleaning and bartending the place by herself! She did not skip a beat and managed to pull it off well! Highly impressive on top of phenomenal food! Recommend but will also definitely return! Very rare I'll give 5 stars but great job all around. Very competent restaurant. It's a hole in the wall that's been there for a long time and I can see why. I liked the ambience and the waitstaff was friendly and courteous. Chicken salad had a generous amount of tender chicken and their Parmesan peppercorn sauce was delicious. Fried shrimp was very good and both their tartar sauce and cocktail sauce were high quality. What an enjoyable meal I had this evening. Walking into this Pub/restaurant is like walking into a place where everyone knows you. We sat at the bar area which was perfect. For starters we had the New England Clam Chowder. Loved it! Loaded with clams and all good things, mostly flavor. For our entrees I had the fried shrimp with potato wedges and my girlfriend had the fish and chips. She loved it. The pub/restaurant is a bit on the divey side but it's all good because the food really delivers. The staff is awesome. They are quick to seat you and take care of you. First time visit and had a blast. Met some awesome locals, had some drinks, a shot and some great food. 7 Seas is that cozy bar on a rainy night where you catch up with a friend and have some laughs. Not pretentious or fancy. Just a real bar with a good old time feel and I like it. Antiques, dark wood paneling and a nice wooden bar on the right. Winter was our bartender and she was great. I ordered the Turkey Club with sweet potato fries and my friend had the Bacon Cheeseburger. Classic pub fare that hit the spot. They are known for their Lobster Rolls and Seafood. I will have to give that a try next time. You can definitely tell that this place is packed for St. Patrick's Day. Shamrocks on the bar. Really fun. I will absolutely go back the next time I am in Milford, the sixth oldest town in Connecticut. 7 Seas is right near the town green, the second longest town green in New England. When we were heading home from a college visit we needed to eat and decided to try to find a nice, local seafood place-nothing fancy, just good eats. We decided to stop at 7 Seas to give it a shot and man, What an amazing little neighborhood bar and restaurant. Sooooooo local! Loved it! I started with a cup of chowder made with real cream and not thickened with a bunch of corn starch. Delicious, needed a little pepper, but nice chunks of clams and not too many potatoes. I also ordered the Lobster roll- which was simply a bun full of lovely buttery lobster goodness. Wifey had the fried fish sandwich and fries - exceptionally fresh all around. The batter was crispy without being thick and just too much - fish was moist and flaky and a nice size piece for the roll. My son had the Buffalo chicken sandwich with fries and he had ZERO complaints. Didn't have a huge beer selection, but we had Aligash white and a Sams. I have been going to 7 Seas for years! Whenever I am in downtown Milford and looking for something a bit different to eat (not just bar food or pizza), 7 Seas is a go-to! This is a very small, almost divey bar/restaurant but the food is delicious and the drinks are strong. When possible, I like to get a seat at the bar because the service is a little faster that way, but all the employees do their best to respond to customer needs and ensure they leave feeling full and happy. The last time I was there, I ordered a cup of chowder and split a single lobster roll with my mom. The chowder was just okay... Wouldn't order that again. Something about it was too fishy and not creamy enough. The lobster roll however, was delicious. They do it CT style (warm with butter) and splitting the single was MORE than enough for me! This was a traveler's delight! I've taken my family on a multi-destination journey. Milford was a small stop on our trip but one of the biggest delights! I had to quickly find some place to stop for lunch with my wife and 3 children. One of which is a screaming mess of a toddler. The waitstaff was very accommodating to our screaming child and made the whole experience fun and enjoyable. The food was exceptional! We destroyed the cheese fries. I found the fried fish sandwich really enjoyable. I personally ordered the charbroiled chicken BLT that was very refreshing. The cole slaw was also very well made. The kids all got burgers and chicken tenders. I sampled some of their food and was impressed with how fresh and home made everything tasted. I highly recommend this to anyone who is in the area for a quick visit or a more prolonged stay. If you're looking for a nice relaxing meal this is the place to be! 7 seas + 3 stars = perfect 10, right? I'll be honest, I was all set for that when I got here. We got seated, got our menus... and then got ignored because we're not regulars, even though the person I sat with LIVES IN THIS TOWN. So that became a running theme. We ordered our various food items and tried various things. Despite my initial impression of the menu, it turns out everything here is quite liberally fried. Well, except the chowder, which is a nice New England style (not the CT style that mixes tomato and cream) and full of clams. Definitely great! The calamari appetizer was quite good, thoroughly breaded as opposed to a light coating, but with enough to go around for at least 2 people, more likely 3-4 people. We made it work. For dinner, our table got fish & chips and fried shrimp. The fish & chips is an enormous portion with multiple heavily-breaded fish filets and an enormous amount of chips, with enough tartar and cocktail sauces to keep dipping everything into without running out. There wasn't an OUTRAGEOUS amount of shrimp, but my friend ended up having to take some home so I guess we can't fault their menu for that! So really, it came down to service. Everything took awhile to arrive. Once we had our food, the waitress took FOREVER to deal with us. She was busy at the bar, with other patrons, everything except us. Water refill? Patience. Another beer? Not here. Took easily a half hour to get the bill and another 15 minutes to pay it. By the time we left, our 3-4 hour afternoon was down to barely an hour left to do anything else. And this was for lunch! It wasn't even crowded inside! The verdict: Gonna have to skip this place, especially with the one waitress we dealt with. I might give it another try with a different server, because the food really is good here and the beer selection is... well, adequate enough (I had a Rhode Island one). Or if you live here, do takeout. But caveat diner. read more
