This restaurant is always great and always a four star. For those who know my reviews, 5 star is reserved for Michelin star restaurants with famous chefs. Tonight is different, I ordered the Cast Iron prepared NY Strip and was impressed with the best steak I've had in years. It was perfectly seared, fat perfectly rendered, exceptionally seasoned and topped with a compound butter. Roasted garlic garnished the plate with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. The temperature was a perfect medium rare. I've been to famous steak houses locally and abroad and the steaks are good but rarely cooked to perfection. Service was great as always, a short wait for a table and the decor with the central fireplace is perfect this time of year. The atmosphere is homey and inviting, with farmhouse decor and rustic wood accents. My previous bosses wanted to take another staff member and me to lunch, so they took us here. I ordered the Steak Frites, a char-grilled and sliced Bistro Filet, Parmesan French Fries, and Garlic Herb Butter. The Steak was cooked nicely, and the Garlic Herb Butter was delicious. The Garlic Herb butter gave the Steak a boost of flavor. The Steak was seasoned well, and the French Fries were delicious. Came in with a group of colleagues for lunch on a weekday... they get somewhat busy at lunchtime here and rightly so... they have a great menu, loaded with tasty options and their execution is on point. Service was pretty good too. The venue itself is nicely laid out and decorated... very nice for business lunch meetings! The items we tried we all really enjoyed. I got their shrimp bowl and the shrimp was make perfectly. The rice aspect was on the dry side, but I asked for some sriracha and extra sauce they put on top and added that and it spiked up the dish nicely. Overall, nice visit! Definitely will NOT be returning to this restaurant, which is unfortunate as I hear the owner is very nice. When staff members who are not busy won't take a take out order (which I would have given a tip for as it is still service), that's very disappointing. Three employees who weren't busy, saw me standing there waiting to place an order but instead chatting amongst themselves, so after a medical procedure just stopped to pick up something to eat for an early dinner, left with no food. Recently went to little barn and couple of times and both were not great. Food was meh, pretzel was old (sent it back) came back better but not great. Mustard isn't homemade definitely from a bottle. Salads were drenched in dressing. Drinks are nothing to write home about, I guess I expect more what I go out then meh. Service was also lacking. They take forever to get your order, then food comes quick (probably because it's pre-Made) then they disappear and you wait endlessly to ask for your check only to wait again to actually get it. I just got mine To Go, so I can only comment on food. Steak Frites was good. Cooked right and Fries were tasty. The Hawaiian Tuna Ahi was not good. It was just rice, tuna, and A LOT of julienne veggies. It was missing the pickled ginger, wakame, cucumber, diced avocado, and crispy wontons. I guess they ran out of those ingredients? Lazy because it was To Go Order? I actually had to check the online Menu to see what was missing because it was so terrible. Family came out for the weekend and of course I did not prep for their arrival so we decided to go out for dinner together. We decided on little barn because it was only a five minute drive from where I reside and it was pouring rain this evening. We are happy with our selection because everything turned out really good. My husband and I ordered the nachos as an appetizer, then I ordered the baja fish tacos, and my husband the little barn burger. Our nachos were piled high with toppings, the chili really made them special. My tacos were perfectly cooked with so much flavor. And my husband said his burger was so juicy. The menu has a lot of different appetizers, salads, burgers and entrees to select from. They also have an extensive drink menu. Our server was very friendly and attentive, despite having tables throughout the restaurant. The food was very fresh and we both enjoyed our meals. Overall, the food here was pretty average. The atmosphere is absolutely fantastic. Definitely great for a bar scene. This is more of a place you come to to watch a game and get typical American style bar food. We ordered the brussels sprout salad, which was actually pretty good, but the entrées were lack luster. The roasted chicken entrée was dry, mashed potatoes weren't very flavorful, and the asparagus was soggy. The steak Frites again was pretty average. Steak was cooked well, the fries could've used more flavor. They're just french fries sprinkled a Parmesan. A truffle oil would help out a bunch. Service was fantastic, however! And from what I read, the lobster roll is great. It was on the "special menu". So this may be a place to order the specials instead of right from the menu. The restaurant has a really cool vibe. The lighting was good and the background music was really good ( classic 80's Rock and R & B).
