Outstanding food and service at Little barn! We sat at a high top in the bar this time, comfortable booth seating and very inviting atmosphere. We all had sandwiches and they were excellent. I had the Philly cheesesteak (added spinach) which was very tasty and fresh. Excellent fries, tots, and onion rings read more

This place is always so good. Either location. Super clean and the service is great. Food is always good. I always go for the salad and pretzel. read more

Food is very good. Atmosphere a bit noisy. All in all would go back again. Their hamburgers are huge and worth every bite. You can cut the whole thing in half and take the half home with you for another meal. read more

This was our first time going to this restaurant. First impression was I like the atmosphere of the restaurant. I had the cauliflower appetizers they were delicious. The amount was enough for a meal in itself. I had the spicy crispy shrimp bisel recommend by the waitress. My husband had the salmon wrap and onion rings. We couldn't finish our food. It is a place we will come back again read more

This restaurant is always great and always a four star. For those who know my reviews, 5 star is reserved for Michelin star restaurants with famous chefs. Tonight is different, I ordered the Cast Iron prepared NY Strip and was impressed with the best steak I've had in years. It was perfectly seared, fat perfectly rendered, exceptionally seasoned and topped with a compound butter. Roasted garlic garnished the plate with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. The temperature was a perfect medium rare. I've been to famous steak houses locally and abroad and the steaks are good but rarely cooked to perfection. Service was great as always, a short wait for a table and the decor with the central fireplace is perfect this time of year. If you are looking for a hearty meal with a steak as the star, try little barn. My wife had the Pumpkin Ravioli special and I will post a picture. She loved it. read more

First of all thank you Mary for making this night such a wonderful experience, your genuine opinions were much appreciated!!! I recommend the nachos as a starter they are the perfect sharing portion and have so much flavor. Outdoor seating was perfect not too chilly and they have warmers out for when it's too busy! Perfect portions! Kind servers! Great for big parties; very accommodating! read more

Beautiful restaurant in a great location. Lots of parking. The staff were nice and attentive. The food was not as good as I expected. Big mac egg rolls lacked flavor. The best bite was the sauce. My pastrami and corned beef lacked meat. Would not order it again. Salads were small and not impressive. The short rib grilled cheese was the best looking plate of the evening. read more

Little Barn is a rustic, cozy, casual new American restaurant featuring an indoor fireplace and a large outdoor patio. The atmosphere is homey and inviting, with farmhouse decor and rustic wood accents. My previous bosses wanted to take another staff member and me to lunch, so they took us here. I ordered the Steak Frites, a char-grilled and sliced Bistro Filet, Parmesan French Fries, and Garlic Herb Butter. The Steak was cooked nicely, and the Garlic Herb Butter was delicious. The Garlic Herb butter gave the Steak a boost of flavor. The Steak was seasoned well, and the French Fries were delicious. The French Fries were crispy, and the Parmesan Cheese gave them a great touch. The customer service was good, and the waitress was very attentive. read more

Came in with a group of colleagues for lunch on a weekday... they get somewhat busy at lunchtime here and rightly so... they have a great menu, loaded with tasty options and their execution is on point. Service was pretty good too. The venue itself is nicely laid out and decorated... very nice for business lunch meetings! The items we tried we all really enjoyed. I got their shrimp bowl and the shrimp was make perfectly. The rice aspect was on the dry side, but I asked for some sriracha and extra sauce they put on top and added that and it spiked up the dish nicely. Overall, nice visit! Would highly recommend! read more

The menu is creative and changes regularly. Portions are generous, but not over abundant. Wine list is a bit limited, but the brews do have a good variety. The horribly service is very attentive. Seating is comfortable noise level a little high but still, you can hear a conversation next to you. read more

Food is good but a little expensive! An order of hot wings and steak tips for appetizers will set you back 38.00 just for appetizers!

There's always a wait here, no matter when we go. I guess that's a good sign! We sat outside & the service and food and drinks were all great! read more

Portions are large and our 91 year old loves it but we think the food at best is meh.

I was traveling for work so I acting alone. Service was incredibly slow and they didn't seem busy. Food was fresh and delicious but I took 30 minutes before they came to take my order. read more

Little Barn - Buddha bowl with shrimp. Delicious. - Pubs Near Me - Shelton, Connecticut

Pros: family friendly, excellent service, our kid loves the gigantic pretzel. Cons: the food's not terrible, but it's not great. I ordered the crispy chicken cutlet wrap and was disappointed to receive what seemed like microwaved chicken cutlet pieces. Crispy it was most definitely not, but dry, tough and stringy with mealy batter. Husband couldn't even finish his cheesesteak. Had ordered fish tacos on a prior occasion and they were underwhelming as well. read more

I just got mine To Go, so I can only comment on food. Steak Frites was good. Cooked right and Fries were tasty. The Hawaiian Tuna Ahi was not good. It was just rice, tuna, and A LOT of julienne veggies. It was missing the pickled ginger, wakame, cucumber, diced avocado, and crispy wontons. I guess they ran out of those ingredients? Lazy because it was To Go Order? I actually had to check the online Menu to see what was missing because it was so terrible. Every dish should really be on point, cuz you never know who actually takes time to write on this thing. Hence the bad review. Oh well, other places around. read more

My kiddo & I love the food here. We frequent this place for our daddy daughter dates. The service has always been great. We usually split a giant pretzel to start. Either you should check it out. read more

Recently went to little barn and couple of times and both were not great. Food was meh, pretzel was old (sent it back) came back better but not great. Mustard isn't homemade definitely from a bottle. Salads were drenched in dressing. Drinks are nothing to write home about, I guess I expect more what I go out then meh. Service was also lacking. They take forever to get your order, then food comes quick (probably because it's pre-Made) then they disappear and you wait endlessly to ask for your check only to wait again to actually get it. Same issues with food and service both times. Little barn used to be amazing. Will not be going back. read more

Family came out for the weekend and of course I did not prep for their arrival so we decided to go out for dinner together. We decided on little barn because it was only a five minute drive from where I reside and it was pouring rain this evening. We are happy with our selection because everything turned out really good. The service was very quick and our server was extremely friendly. I believe his name was Adam. We decided to try the famous pretzel and wow, it was incredible. It was warm and the cheese sauce was a perfect combo. We all enjoyed each of our meals, which are pictured below. I would recommend. read more

Great dinner with my aunt on Friday night. Loved sitting close to the fireplace on a cold, rainy evening. Service was great and food was delicious, as always. My aunt had the chicken pot pie - she raves about it. I had the California crispy chicken wrap with sweet potato fries. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. read more

Cute rustic restaurant with a cozy bar and fireplace. The food was so very good! My husband and I ordered the nachos as an appetizer, then I ordered the baja fish tacos, and my husband the little barn burger. Our nachos were piled high with toppings, the chili really made them special. My tacos were perfectly cooked with so much flavor. And my husband said his burger was so juicy. Our waiter was excellent as well. This experience made us feel like we found a little hidden gem in the Shelton area! We shall return soon! read more

Little Barn is a nice, rustic restaurant with an extensive food and drink menu. They offer high top tables in the bar, or low top tables both in the dining area and on the patio. The menu has a lot of different appetizers, salads, burgers and entrees to select from. They also have an extensive drink menu. Our server was very friendly and attentive, despite having tables throughout the restaurant. The food was very fresh and we both enjoyed our meals. I look forward to going back to try other menu items. read more

Went here for the first time and it was very good. Nachos are so delicious that was my meal. Wings were good. Poke bowl was good too. The fish and chips were ok the batter wasn't too my liking. But will return again read more

Definitely will NOT be returning to this restaurant, which is unfortunate as I hear the owner is very nice. When staff members who are not busy won't take a take out order (which I would have given a tip for as it is still service), that's very disappointing. Three employees who weren't busy, saw me standing there waiting to place an order but instead chatting amongst themselves, so after a medical procedure just stopped to pick up something to eat for an early dinner, left with no food. Passed several other restaurants on Bridgeport Ave to go to Little Barn on my way home. NEVER AGAIN, Little Barn thanks to your staff that day. read more

Came here for a group dinner and had a fantastic experience. Their menu features a large variety of wines, beers, and other drinks, and for food they have something for everyone - apps, salads, Buddha bowls, handhelds, and entrees. Prices are fair and food quality is great. I ordered the chicken pot pie for dinner and absolutely loved it! The puff pastry was perfect and the filling had large cubes of chicken in it. Service was also fantastic. Can't wait to come here again next time I'm in town! read more

Cozy restaurant, incredibly nice service team. We loved the variety of food options on the menu. Not impressed with the drinks (too sweet for both cocktails & mocktails). This is a great place to go and to have a nice meal. It's relaxing and service is good. I've had the chicken pot pie and the onion soup and other things on the menu. Food is good. You can sit by the fireplace. Thank you Mary and Janelle. Highly recommend this place. There's plenty of parking outside. It's peaceful and there are a lot of people there but it's not loud. There's outdoor seating too. read more

Food is good, service good. Great atmosphere. Good bar food for a casual gathering. Love the decor.

4.0 stars doesn't do this place justice. This place fully deserves 5 stars all day long. The lobster roll was absolutely fantastic. Almost Maine quality. Totally recommend it. All of the drinks and cocktails we tried were super delicious. The inside is beautiful. The service is 5 stars and the overall ambience is exactly what I'm looking for. Not too quiet and not too loud. Highly recommended! read more

Little Barn - Lobster Roll - Pubs Near Me - Shelton, Connecticut

Overall, the food here was pretty average. The atmosphere is absolutely fantastic. Definitely great for a bar scene. This is more of a place you come to to watch a game and get typical American style bar food. We ordered the brussels sprout salad, which was actually pretty good, but the entrées were lack luster. The roasted chicken entrée was dry, mashed potatoes weren't very flavorful, and the asparagus was soggy. The steak Frites again was pretty average. Steak was cooked well, the fries could've used more flavor. They're just french fries sprinkled a Parmesan. A truffle oil would help out a bunch. Service was fantastic, however! And from what I read, the lobster roll is great. It was on the "special menu". So this may be a place to order the specials instead of right from the menu. I'll definitely come back to give this place another try. read more

Bustling place that offers both bar & high back seating. The inside is a little more noisy than you'd expect, and the menu is typical salads/burgers/chicken. Entrees are around $22.95. Standard fare appetizers, although they do have a large sharing size pretzel that can be paired with either mustard or a Nutella dipping sauce. My party got seated right away for a 6p Saturday, and food came out in 15 mins - all good. read more

Stopped in for dinner on a Friday evening and had a great meal. It was a busy night but luckily we did not have to wait too long for a table. We sat at one of the high top tables near the bar. The restaurant has a really cool vibe. The lighting was good and the background music was really good ( classic 80's Rock and R & B). For starters we tried the General Tsao Cauliflower which was absolutely delicious. It literally tasted like chicken. I would definitely go back just for this dish alone. For my meal I had the ribs served with sweet potato fries. The rings were fall off the bone good. The one knock would be to ease up on the sauce, but still they were good. My girlfriend had the chicken pot pie which she loved. We loved the place and can definitely see ourselves going back for other items on the menu. read more
