The whole restaurant!

Phenomenal tucked away on the river in Seymour! Great folks making great food! Takeout tonight was 3 lobster rolls and an order of fried pickles. I put their lobster roll up against anyone around! Family and friend vibe. The band was setting up and the crowd was already assembled at 6 PM.

We have been back for dinner and they exceeded our expectations! Food was served promptly and was very good. The place was very crowded but well staffed. We did not wait long at all for any service, food or beverages. It was a nice summer's evening looking over the river while enjoying the lobster roll and fish and chips.

First time eating here, and won't be the last time. I have driven past this place everyday going to work. The parking lot is always packed. If that doesn't give you a sign of great food, I don't know what else will. So I decided to finally give it a try! Great food, great views right on the Housy. I really like that this place supports local! With that historic flood that happened 10 days ago, Dock 34 had the staff from the 67 diner working with them! Support each other! They honored all first responders with a free tab. I commend this restaurant for their amazing service and supporting local staff and other organizations affected by the flood! The food is mouth-watering delicious! Their philly egg rolls were really good. I had the Cali burger and sweet potato fries! The burger patty is cooked to perfection-medium well. The burger was a good size too! Definitely worth it! My husband had the Dock 34 burger. He said that burger was massive but sooo good! If you like a good burger, check this place out! It will NOT disappoint!

Food quality / price (value) rating 8.5. The atmosphere is casual riverside. This was our first visit here. This is a seasonal outdoor venue operating from April through October or November depending on the weather. They have a large outdoor bar area that can be closed in and heated if necessary, and a very large patio area along the shore of the Housatonic River. There are docks available for about 6 boats, and plenty of parking. The menu offers pub style food, hand held sandwiches and burgers, wraps, a few entrees, and other "roadside" foods. They have a limited number of draught beers. This place looks like it's a lot of fun, and they have things happening every night including games, karaoke, and live entertainment on weekends. I had a Grilled Chicken Caesar Wrap, and substituted a very large bowl of cole slaw for fries. The wrap was very good, and had a decent amount of chicken. The wife had a Chicken Quesadilla that was large and she stated that it was very good. The restrooms were very clean and nice. The service was very good.

Read on. The reason for the 1 was because of the 45/50 min wait and the lie about my order. Really disappointed! The place is outdoor. You get a great view of the river. If you have a boat, come dock it on a slip. They have a fire pit you can sit by and eat or by the bar. The food was very good. We ordered the Lobster Bisque, Stuffed Clams, Hot Dog w/ fries, and Fish and Chips. Lobster Bisque had good flavor, however, was lacking the main ingredient, Lobster! My daughter enjoyed her hot dog and fries. The chicken Quesadilla was flavorful. The Fish and Chips were delicious. I love my fried fish! This fish was flaky. The batter was crispy, airy. The tartar sauce complimented the fish very well. The 1 was for two reasons. The waitress that took our order, then goes to the table next to us and takes their order. A few mins later she comes back with drinks and silverware. In the meantime, we wait forty five minutes for the food. I hear the waitress giving the table next to us saying," hear are you're stuffed clams...". Then proceed to our table, letting us know the kitchen is backed up with orders. She then tells" food will be out in a few more minutes. Unfortunately we ran out of the special, stuffed clams. Can I get you something else?" We then get our food after 45/50 mins. The fact that I lied to about the stuffed clams (since the last clams should've come to me since i ordered first) and the long wait for bar food.

Great place. All outdoor dining in a large pavilion. Nice sized bar. Live music and riverside. On the shore of the Housatonic.

We went there for the first time last night because it was late and we were hungry. My husband ordered the meatball grinder, it was all bread & hardly any meatballs or cheese. He said the sauce was OK- not great. I ordered the appetizer butterfly shrimp, and a cup of chicken soup. The shrimp came dark brown and overcooked, but thanks to the tangy chili sauce -I did not complain. I asked for a recommendation on the soup and they said chicken. I was expecting homestyle chicken noodle soup, but it was a bowl of spaghetti noodles (literally) in very bland, almost watered down, broth. There was barely any vegetables or chicken, and what carrots, onions & celery I could find were too finely cut. The scarce chicken looked canned. It was definitely lacking the basic flavors of chicken soup (garlic, salt, pepper and rich broth). I'm sure there are regulars that go there and love what they eat every time. However, we did not have that experience, so unfortunately we will never go back. Which is sad because this area is seriously lacking restaurants.

If you ever been to Danny O's you would probably wouldn't think about stopping in here. Danny O's was a dirty old dive bar not that there is anything wrong with that. HL&S completely gutted the place and what an inviting place it is. Nautically themed with a bar on one side and dining room separated by glass walls. Big screen TV's are every where so you will not miss your game. A wide variety of national beers as well as local craft beers on tap are available. Specialty cocktails are available in addition to many top shelf spirts. Now the best part... the food. We were a party of 12 so we had the opportunity to try as many menu items and the list was long. Clams on the Half Shell were fresh and plump and at a dollar each are a bargain. The New England Clam Chowder was loaded with clams and a delicious starter. Deep fried pickles were a find as you can not always find them. A juicy half a pound burger top with a fried egg was great. The tuna tacos were out of this world and what a find. Three huge tacos loaded with grilled Ahi tuna. The Cheese Steak I would put up against anyone's loaded with steak, a combination of American and Cheddar cheeses, grilled onions and mushrooms on a huge Taranova roll. I call out the roll because it made a big difference and I had to know who made it. So I asked was was told it was a Taranova roll from the Bronx, so you know quality is important to HL&S. I was told to try their pizza as it is outstanding and I will on my next trip to Hook Line $ & Sinker... soon very soon.

If the Men in Motion ever head there again, we will definitely be back!
