I came to Tribus Beer as part of an event sponsored by Milford Spirit Walks. Events are held in a back room, and try to get a seat near the "front". There is no solid dividing wall from the rest of the brewery and noise can echo. In the brewery itself, there's mostly high top seating with a few lower tables. There are also outdoor picnic tables. I am not a big beer drinker, but I'm learning and tried the Pink Lemonade Zazz. It was sweet with a bit of lemonade elevating the flavor above the generic beer taste, I would recommend it to someone who feels like me. Fortina Pizza was also on sight, selling cheese, pepperoni, and a spicier pie. The cheese and pepperoni were both delicious, and complimented the beer well. They also brought the pizza into the brewery when it was done so you didn't have to wait outside!

I recently met some friends at Tribus for an event raising awareness about Camp Courant. I live about 45 minutes away, and it was my first time there. I was impressed. The grounds are cool. There's a large, outdoor seating area. There's plenty of seating inside as well. The bar area was well designed, and it's a good sign that they have wall art for each of the beers that they make. If you commemorate your beers, you obviously expect to stick around. I believe they're dog friendly since I saw some K9's hanging out. They also had a food truck outside. I didn't pay much attention to the menu, but I recall a giant pretzel being involved. No worries -- it was a friendly giant. I had two IPA's -- Benji and Tank Space. I liked both. They had good color and mouth feel. I wasn't focused enough on the beers to keep any tasting notes, but they were on par with most good CT craft IPA's I've had. The most important part of a bar or brewery for me is whether you have a good time with your friends there. Mission accomplished. We had fun joking around and the people I didn't already know were friendly. I would definitely return if I'm in the area. Five Stars

Great beers, good energy and a friendly staff with super food truck eats make this place a must go. I have not had a draft here I haven't liked. Currently some fantastic options on the menu for IPA's are 'Mouthfeel', a triple IPA, "Goodie bag" a double IPA, and the good old fashioned single IPA "Benji". There's also fruit sours, barley wine style ale, cream ale, stout, and cider. If none of those work for you, you can order from the cocktail menu. Blind Rhino food truck has tasty solid pub food, and the best lunch special around. $12 Friday lunch you choose a McRino burger, salad, or wings.... PLUS a draft beer. They also have guest appearances by other food trucks on occasion and for those who want to bring their furry friends they are allowed on the patio space that includes tables, umbrella's, heaters, and patio furniture. They have trivia during the week, and occasional pop up shops and live entertainment on the weekends.

We met up with some friends Saturday night at Tribus and were easily able to secure a table while the band was packing up. It was too cold for outdoor seating but it looked like a great set up for warmer weather. Although Tribus does not offer flights, they offer both short pours (8 oz) and tall pours (full pint). We most enjoyed the two sours, Seedless and Pink Guava Zazz. We found the seedless to be heavier and more sour than the Pink Guava Zazz. You are able to order small bites from The Blind Rhino food truck, which seemed to be popular. The staff was friendly and were on top of removing our finished glasses from the table.

This is my absolute favorite brewery in the state of Connecticut for many reasons. Not only do they always have a variety of different styles of beer to choose from but they have plenty of seating inside or outside to choose from. Sports are also always playing on tv, especially their projector. It's also one of the few spots I never have to wait for a beer, their beer tenders are the best, they can handle high volume and please everyone. They happen to also have the Blind Rhino food truck trailer posted out front slinging wings and other great munchies to snack on. This place is simply the BEST.

Tribus Beer Company is a craft brewery that opened in Milford, Connecticut in August 2018. It was founded by friends Matt Weichner, Sebastian D'Agostino, and Sean O'Neill. Weichner and D'Agostino both met when they worked together as brewers at New England Brewing Company in Woodbridge. D'Agostino later introduced Weichner to his longtime friend O'Neill, who had brewing industry experience from working at Cisco Brewers in Nantucket. The three soon formed a wacky friendship and had dreams and aspirations of going off and founding their own brewery. At the end of 2017, all three left their jobs and decided to make their dream a reality. They were able to acquire a 10,000-square-foot space in a Milford industrial park and they named their brewery "Tribus": Latin for "three". The brewery was met with immediate success after opening. In addition to brewing stouts, sours and pilsners, Tribus has become well-known for their popular IPAs. I first visited Tribus' taproom in March 2019. I knew Weichner and D'Agostino from my frequent trips to New England Brewing Company when they both worked there. Once they opened up their own venture, I knew that I needed to check it out. The place was hopping when I showed up. I sat down at the bar and was soon greeted by the friendly Weichner. I ordered a short pour of "Flow": a Double IPA brewed with Galaxy and loaded with tropical fruit notes. It was damn good! The taproom was nice and spacious and even featured a game room that was equipped with a ping pong table and classic arcade cabinets. Liberty Rock Tavern was the food truck that day, so I ordered a delicious Southern Fried Chicken sandwich with Waffle Fries to enjoy with my beer. Before leaving I also had short pours of "Blank Check 001" (Double IPA) and "Capulus" (Coffee Imperial Oatmeal Milk Stout). Once again, these beers were exceptional. I purchased some to-go cans of the aforementioned "Flow", "Cereal Spiller" (a Double IPA collab between Tribus and Counter Weight Brewing), and "F#$K IT" (Triple IPA). I look forward to more of Tribus' exceptional offerings.

Spent about 15 minutes reading this... fascinating!

This is a large and spacious space. I loved the decor and vibe, so after drinking and eating, I walked around and took some of the photos posted. There is also an outdoor space that looked comfortable and nicely decorated, but it was raining the day of my visit and we sat indoors at the bar. There is a back room, where I assume private parties are held. That is where I found the barrels and graffiti artwork. Right now they are offering small and large pours, and since I'm not a big beer drinker and wanted to try a variety, we went with the smaller pours ($3/$4 each). There are lots of options, and I think almost everyone can find something they like. There was a food truck there, and we were able to text our order and they brought it in to us. That was a nice touch. For a person who doesn't drink much beer, I enjoyed my visit and will definitely return.

Year #2 at Tribus Fest this year and I was lucky enough to meet the owner! Such a kind and friendly guy. My bartender gave a wonderful recommendation for beer - the Festbier was a little hoppy for me, but IPA fans will love it! My friend got their Peaches n Cream which was absolutely delicious! I was sad to not be able to leave with a growler of it actually! My dachshund Jasmine and my friend's dog Frankie had a great time hanging out too! Will definitely be back next year (and likely before!)

When in Connecticut do what craft beer fans of Connecticut would do and find some local craft breweries! Yeah, I know, Two Roads, but there's so much more to the craft beer scene of Connecticut beyond that one massive beer campus. Case in point: Tribus Beer Co., a solid brewing establishment that my buddies and I visited not too long ago with positive results. Well, mostly positive. To start, you'll drive a bit off the beaten path to get to this industrial-ish looking area, but once there, Tribus is housing a pretty spacious interior with plenty of tables, bar seats, a whole separate back area with games (arcade/table top) and a section that definitely looks like it'll be opened up to good ol' Mother Nature once the weather cooperates. Beyond the setup, let's jump into the most important thing, beer! Fifteen brews lined the beer list wall on that frigid January day with plenty of style variation to choose from. Now let's play the pro/con game. Starting negatively, a con about Tribus is the lack of a classic flight. This makes it a little harder to try all these beers. The pro? A 5oz taster will only set you back a couple of dollars (most are $3/$4). Not being the driver that day, but also knowing that we were going to be hitting up Two Roads after this stop (sorry, Tribus), I only had three of these tasters for myself. Luckily, my buddies got a few different ones from my own choices and so we were able to sample around half of the available beers. "Dipped" was one of them, a chocolate cherry sour that had a really exquisite balance between sweet and tart. After that one, we did dabble with "Milk Down" (chocolate milk stout), "Aw Ye Beb" (helles lager), "Lil' Boozy" (session imperial stout) and "After Party" (fruity IPA), though none of these were truly memorable. Don't get me wrong, they weren't bad, but I'd probably order some of the other choices next time and steer away from those. There was one more beer we tasted. Just as we were getting ready to finish up for the afternoon, one of my buddies saw the description and color of another beer on the list. It's name was "Brick" and it was supposed to hold some juicy, subtle, hoppy flavors. Intrigued, I split one more 5oz with mi amigo and with that first sip my eyes lit up with happiness...okay, maybe they didn't, but dang, "Brick", you were tasty. So tasty that we bought a four pack of cans to experience at a later time and date (still got a few hanging around). With cans in hand, it was a positive ending to the first leg of this beer adventure. Overall, Tribus Beer Co. didn't blow me away with some of their beers, but a few of them were definitely memorable. Plus, anytime you walk away with cans says something about the beer being made. We didn't get to try all of the suds on tap that day and with the nice digs and decent pricing, tentatively consider this round one in an eventual return to Tribus in the future. More craft beer awaits in Connecticut! Well, one of these days...

This was a great stop both my son and I thoroughly enjoyed our beer and ale selections and felt the pilsner and the lager were our favorites. They produce upwards of 10 to 12 different kinds of beer some of those are seasonally others are available year round. The interior bar area is large with both bar and high top table seating. During the warmer months there is a large outdoor terrasse with a number of umbrella tables. It was very busy when we stopped by and for good reason these folks deliver a superior product and have a good local following. Tribus is top notch stop by give'm a try and see if you agree!

** 4.5 stars ** I'm quite impressed by this new brewery. As my husband put it, you can tell that lots of thought went into the design and layout of the space, and they Tribus was able to add some personality and flair to an empty canvas. For example, the three-sided tall tables aren't like anything I've seen before, but they actually maximize the space. It was also fun scoping out the hip hop posters in the corridor between the two main rooms. Entertainment options include darts, foosball, corn hole, hook and ring, and ping pong; and there's a couch area with a bunch of games. All of these options are also nicely spaced throughout the brewery. Even though it was crowded, we didn't feel stifled. In addition, the bartenders did a great job getting the beer out quickly and still being friendly and personable. And the beer! Definitely IPA focused with a couple sours and just one stout. I wish they had had more stouts, porters, or lagers; but I'm sure they're going with the trend. DIPAs were good. My favorite was Flow. The only negative thing I can say about our experience is that because of the tall ceilings, it can definitely be hard to hear each other. The back room was a bit more quiet though still with lots of activity and beer happy folks. Not just "another brewery in CT." They have something special going on.

First opinion was not positive as there are three doors with signs on them and a good amount of junk on the outside, so curb appeal was lacking. We went in, weren't greeted, but greeted the brewery-tender. He doesn't say anything really, doesn't welcome us, or offer to tell us about the brewery even though we share its our first time. The place is clean, with darts, and board games (in disrepair). The Rangers have just started playing, first period. I ordered a white wine, hubby a citra session ipa. Hubby thought the beer was great, however served with a 2" head so not as exciting. Quickly after arriving, a family arrived with a bunch of kids who treated the place as a McDonalds play space. No one said a thing as they ran crazy, throwing darts, and just being kids on a playground, yelling and screaming. Eventually, another group comes in, most likely owners as nothing was rang up, and kiddo was behind bar playing on POS system, but suddenly the bartender was friendlier, and the parents asked the kiddos to chill. This brewery can't grow with this experience to new customers. Dockside is only in their fifth year, they run like a well oiled machine. Plus side for this small brewery, it was clean, wine was not bottom barrel but a good choice, and hubby very much liked the beers. When we arrived, the bartender was watching the hockey game. The board games were all in disarray. I personally fixed most of them, because we were looking for something to challenge each other with besides drinking lol. Maybe in down times, fix things up. Overall, if not for the very rambunctious kiddos running and screaming, we would rate it a four. Today I can't. Six years in business and not growing, your beers are great, wine is better than most, but atmosphere is a playground. Another tip is to provide ice. Water provided is warm. Go check them out as beer and vino are good.

They have a cozy taproom in a business park and most of the clientele seemed to be locals. I sat at the bar and ordered a flight of four which consisted of "06460" (Citra Session IPA), "Silver Sands" (IPA), "West Shore" (Double IPA), and "Settlers Stout" (Milk Stout). The Silver Sands IPA was my favorite of the flight and I purchased a four-pack of cans to take home. Milford Point makes a nice addition to the city's craft beer scene.

Bikes & Beers tours the country year-round, offering cycling events that revolve around--you guessed it--breweries. Over the last few years, we've enjoyed weekends away across New England when they come to our corner of the country. Their events are very well organized and fun, with a portion of the proceeds going to local charities. Plus, there's beer! After our 30-mile ride in and around Branford, we joined the other riders for the after-ride event at the brewery for food and fun. That's the formula for all Bikes & Beers events. Back to Stony Creek Brewery. As I said, the setting is idyllic for a warm, sunny summer day. However, you'd find limited indoor dining/drinking space on a rainy day. I enjoyed their seasonal IPA (the only beer I drink) and found it exceptional. My better half had the grilled chicken sandwich to satisfy her hunger while she ordered a chili dog for me. IT WAS HUGE (and delicious). We didn't get to try the other interesting items on their menu, but our fellow riders said good things about theirs. Plus, a permanent guest food truck serves wood-fired pizzas that look and smell fantastic. My mouth is watering as I write this. I'm not sure when we'll be back, but we bookmarked this location so we can have a similar bikes & beers experience on our own someday. We liked it that much!

Whether you prefer something light and crisp or something a little more bold, they seem to have a beer that fits the mood. Food was honestly the weaker part of the experience.
