Wines And More! is a wine & spirits store that opened in Milford, Connecticut in 2005. Since 2012, the owner has been Jeff Wilson. After working in the corporate world for over 20 years, Wilson decided to leave and pursue his passion for wine and spirits. He took over the store and put his own mark on it. Wilson has an affinity for Spanish, French and California wines as well as fine sipping rums and tequilas. The shop features a selection of well over 5,000 wines (including many rare ones), artisanal spirits, craft beer and ready-to-drink cocktails. Wines And More! has its own clubs for whiskey, wine, and craft beer fans and frequently hosts in-store tastings as well as off-site wine dinners. A second (now unrelated) location opened on Eastern Steel Road in 2007. I've been doing business with Wines And More! for several years now. They're not too far away from where I work, so I frequently will stop by before heading home for the day. I recently stopped by to pick up some craft beer cans. I'm a member of the store's Craft Beer Club and frequently get e-mailed whenever they have some new arrivals. One thing that I like is that you don't need to commit to a full six-pack or four-pack. The store features a cooler full of single cans where customers can assemble their own mixed four-pack. I took home a nice collection of cans from some of my favorite breweries like Other Half Brewing, Evil Twin Brewing, and Twelve Percent Beer Project. A representative from Massachusetts-based Jack's Abby Craft Lagers was on hand to offer samples of some of their newer offerings for tasting. I decided to try their Blood Orange Wheat Radler. I also ran into an old classmate of mine who was running a wine tasting. After sampling a few ones, I decided to take home a bottle of Spanish Tempranillo for my wife and I to enjoy with dinner. I truly hate giving this place a bad review, but I gave them every opportunity to rectify an issue and they straight up refused to do so. I've been going here for quite some time as they tend to have several items that other local places don't. One item is Zing Zang margarita mix in the 1.75ml size. Earlier in the year I stopped in to pick some up and didn't see any. A stock clerk said he had just stocked some and mentioned to check the date as some of the bottles were out of code (passed their expiration date). I picked up the one bottle within it's expiration date and was on my way assuming the clerk was going to get rid of the rest. The next time I needed this product was early May. I stopped in, grabbed a bottle and because of my last experience, I checked the expiration date. The date listed on the bottle was "BEST BY 01/18/22". I know that this lime-based product has an unusually-long shelf life, so this means the product had to have been sitting on the shelf for an extremely long time. When I checked out, I mentioned to the clerk at the register that there were several bottles of 1.75ml Zing Zang margarita mix that were about 4 MONTHS PASSED THEIR EXPIRATION DATE. He thanked me for letting him know as said he'd take care of it. I thought nothing more of it and was on my way. Three weeks later I stopped in again to get ready for Memorial Day and stopped by the margarita mix section. Unfortunately, I saw there were at least 4 bottles of the very same Zing Zang with the same expiration date. This time, I brought one of the bottles up to the register to show the clerk in hopes that would inspire the store to do something about their out-of-date inventory. I was met by an unsmiling and seemingly extremely unhappy older woman. I handed her the bottle and explained that it was over 4 months past it's expiration date, and that I just wanted to bring it to their attention. She said NOTHING to me. Just set it down next to the register, rang up my order and asked if I wanted a receipt. No "Thanks for letting us know" or even a simple "Thanks" for shopping here. Not my first interaction with this person, so her total lack of cordiality was nothing new. Last week I stopped in and just had to check their mixer aisle. Sure enough, three bottles of the very same Zing Zang sitting there - NOW OVER 5 MONTHS PASSED IT'S EXPIRATION DATE. I'm going to assume that the other bottles were sold to customers who assumed this establishment is keeping a responsible eye on the expiration dates of their inventory. Hopefully those customers didn't get sick. Hey, I tried! While the store is kept clean, well decorated, stocked with unusual items and most of the staff are nice, this is a deal breaker for me. If it weren't for this inexcusable oversight, I would have given a much higher rating. But after three opportunities to correct a potential health risk, I won't be back. read more

I've never yelped a liquor store before but this place is great! The name is true, sure there's wine but there's way more too. We go for the craft beer options though, they have everything! Local, not local, new releases literally tons of options. Sure it's pricy but craft beer is and it's not more expensive here than other places. The people that work their are super friendly and knowledgeable. There's a lot of giftable items too that I love to look through. Can't go wrong. read more

Will not be coming back to this place. I went in and scoured their dismal beer section. Nothing. Saw a girl who worked there and asked if they had anything good in the back, so she was nice and gave me a Lawsons Two road collab saison in the back room. Went to pay for it and the guy said it wasn't in there system yet and i had to be on a special email list. I thought it was a prank...You cant just let me spend more money?? HUGE wine, beer and liquor store on a main street in Milford. They've got just about anything you could need in the way of liquor, can't comment on the wine, and the beer selection is outstanding! I could even say it rivals Blanchard's in selection (my local go-to in the heart of Boston) which is quite impressive for a small town in CT. The staff is friendly, offering help if you look lost or confused. Not sure of their knowledge, as I'm a beer snob and assume I know better what I want (or want to try) than some young kid working the counter in a local packy, even if I am wrong on occasion. These guys are great! The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful in selecting wines. I'm on their email list and get notified of when unique craft beers come in. Also, and this is key, there's enough staff on hand to be able to ask questions and get service. There are so many new kinds of beer, wine and liquor products/brands today its nice to get personal attention when shopping. Some of the other more "warehouse" like places have so little staff per sq-ft. its ridiculous, not here. read more

Love, Love, LOVE this place (and not just because they carry my favorite booze!) I went in and ran into a fellow classmate who apparently runs(?) the shop. He was incredibly helpful in assisting us with finding a champagne that fit our budget and tastes, and a bottle of wine perfect for a going away present. More importantly they carry a great variety of everything. There has never been a time when I've gone in and not found something interesting and surprisingly tasty. WOW! Let me say it one more time WOW! The selection at the place is absolutely incredible. Their choices for craft beer are OUT OF THIS WORLD! This is what David Bowie was talking about when he said "There's a Starman waiting in the sky..." Except in this case the "Starman" is their beer selection. And speaking of Starmen, The staff is TOP NOTCH. Sure, there are other big chain liquor stores. Where the only thing the staff cares about is the amount of things they can sell you. This staff truly knows their stuff. The man who helped me was named AJ. With a pleasant smile on his face, he went in depth about the top fermenting ale yeast and lactobacillus that is used in today's sour and gose beer varieties. I want to start this off by saying I have not been inside this stores main location. I attended a wine tasting and dinner held at a local bistro. The wine served was amazing and the staff were very knowledgable and approachable. We ended up ordering four, or five bottles of wine before the night was over and we made sure to get the hosts card to ensure our reservation for their next class. read more

A great neighborhood liquor shop. They have a pretty large selection of wines, beers, and spirits. Their wine knowledge is great and the stock is all good quality stuff. Whatever they don't have, they will order for you. I love this place so much more than the huge superstores (aka Total Wine) because you can find what you want quicker and get in and out much easier. read more

I've been thrilled with this place before, but they completely won me over this past week. I had been searching for Troegs Nimble Giant for it's seasonal release to no avail. After receiving my weekly Craft Beer Alert from Corey a couple of weeks ago (which i love), I sent him a reply asking about Nimble Giant. Not only did he respond to me immediately, he kept me posted along the way as to it's anticipated arrival. He set aside a nice cold 4-pack for me and i was thrilled to finally get my hands on it last evening!!! Corey and Wines and more demonstrate what ideal customer service is. I visit W&M as often as twice a week. I am greeted at the door and helped whenever I need it. If the wine I am looking for is not on premises, it is ordered for me. I have to compliment the merchants on changing the atmosphere from package store to wine merchants etc. W&M is my "go to " spirits shop! read more

Good prices, good selection, and when I went in the guy working the desk was playing Minus the Bear over the speakers. There's nothing better than listening to great music while shopping for alcohol. While they do have that they also have a couple of people in there that are SO knowledgeable. I was looking for some good/funky beers and I was directed to some Sours.
