Bar 3 Thirty Three is a craft beer bar that opened in Milford, Connecticut in 2014. It was founded by husband and wife Frank and Rene Gargiulo. The menu features a large selection of craft beers on draught that are paired with variety of gastropub eats. I recently had dinner at Bar Thirty Three while I was in Milford. I knew that I wouldn't be home until later so I checked on Yelp to see if there were any good craft beer bars nearby. Bar Thirty Three came highly recommended, so I decided to give them a try. The place had a neighborhood bar feel to it. I pulled up a seat at the bar and began looking over their impressive draught list. I decided to start with a pour of Evil Twin Brewing's "Blue Raspberry" (Fruited Sour IPA). It was very light with nice sour berry notes. I paired it with a plate of "Pickle Chips" (fried sliced pickles and house-made buttermilk ranch). They were very flavorful but a little too hot; I burned my bottom lip on the hot juices inside. Afterwards I ordered a pour of Berkshire Brewing's "Snow Day" (White Chocolate Peanut Butter Stout). It had delicious notes of white chocolate with subtle hints of peanut butter. I paired it with a delicious "Lobster Club Sandwich" (butter poached lobster, smoked bacon, lettuce and tomato). This was my kind of sandwich! Great beer, great eats, great vibes, great company! We arrived around 12:30 pm. Alex was off and Kahl was behind the bar. She immediately greeted us and took our drink order. The restaurant wasn't busy so we sat at the bar to watch football. We ordered wings and the special tacos of the day which were eye of the round tomatillo tacos with pico. We get the buffalo sauce and cajun dry rub on our wings which were 5 stars. The tacos not so much. For $15 the three tacos were tiny, 3 pieces of eye of the round on two tacos, 4 on third. The pico was tomatoes with a tiny piece of jalapeno and onion in water, weird. The tomatillo sauce was ok, but not the best. We LOVE this place but these tacos missed the mark. Service was good. At the end, Lauren took over. She was friendly and introduced herself to us and others at the bar. She mostly cashed us out, but we liked her friendliness. We added this place to our favorites! We will be back! Tried this place out tonight. My husband was afraid the bars would be crowded because of the Derby. We arrived about 5. It wasn't busy and he was nervous. He was wrong! We were greeted at the door and seated promptly. The place was clean and spacious. Our server quickly got us drinks, and we ordered the pretzel bites. They were soft and delicious. When ordering food, my daughter forgot what her burger was called. As soon as I mentioned it had pineapple, the server knew it was the Baha burger. There were lots of beers and cider on tap. My husband got a Sam Summer. My daughter tried a citrus cider. She also got a peach drink, which was dangerously tasty. All our food was absolutely delicious! My husband loved the lobster sliders! My daughter ate every bit of her burger. And the tacos were so good! You can choose chicken, loster, tuna, or ahi. Had to get my car fixed up the street, so decided to go for a walk and see what was in the area around lunch time. Stopped in here. The worker Alex was awesome. Looked like she was the only one working and she held that shit down lol, great worker and very kind. I started off with the Buffalo chicken meatballs. They were fantastic. Lightly crispy on the outside and tender and flavorful on the inside. This did come with gogonzola cream and crumbs but I got the cream on the side. Not a big fan of it but their's was tasty. I also ordered the Lobster club.. butter poached Lobster, with bacon, lettuce and I held the tomatoes on Texas toast...WOW was this delicious. The bar tender/ manager has no personality and seems to be a miserable person. I ordered a drink and my girlfriend was undecided about what she wanted so he ignored us for ten minutes along with the rest of the bar while he restocked the craft beer kegs. He was also serving tables when they had a waitress and two girls serving as hostess to seat people. Hire another waitress and a bartender with a personality. Numerous friends have the same opinion. I remember a waitress that worked there that got stiffed by a couple that skipped out without paying for drinks and this bartender made her pay for their drinks from her wages. We've eaten at Bar 3 Thirty Three a few times and always found both the food and the service to be very good. This weekend we decided to order some take out. Although it was ok it certainly was not as good as dining in the establishment. I'm not sure we'll do take out again but we would dine in. We ordered the pretzel bites, a burger and the Buffalo chicken wrap. The biggest problem was the fries became very soft and soggy. When dining in we're always big fans of their fries. For takeout not so much. Also the bun on the burger was a soggy mess. The burger did not hold up well for take out. Bar is kind of set back off the street and I only knew of them from looking on google maps for a place to eat after visiting a client around the corner. After the first bite I couldn't believe how good the slider was. The bun was freshly steamed and so soft. The meat was tender and sirloin like they described. Don't let the strip mall dive bar appearance from the outside steer you away. What you will find inside is excellent food and great drink options. So we got 2 specialty cocktails first- while delicious not sure they had enough alcohol in them but that was the worst part of our experience. Next we got 6 clams and 6 oysters on half shell- they were great!! Been trying to get raw seafood for weeks now and they came through. Next were entrees- blackened fish tacos and pork belly BLT. I am very disappointed. The food sucked. It's definitely not worth the $60 and the indigestion. Let's start with the Pretzel Bites that were still RAW on the inside. Hot on the outside but completely raw inside. Next up is the Chicken slider, and there were about three small pieces of chicken on each one. There were a lot of onions and mushrooms. Let's move on to the chicken tenders. I order chicken tenders with Buffalo sauce for my daughter. She said the sauce had a kick that she liked, but the tenders were very chewy. I came by with my co-workers for happy hour and food. Can't go wrong with the happy hour prices, we took advantage of the $5 wine by the glass. For the food, we got the pretzel bites to share, which were very good. I got the lobster tacos and was pleasantly surprised at the portion of lobster in each taco (3 total). It was a good amount of food (also came with fries) and I was pretty impressed. The only issue I had with this place was how slow the service was, it took almost 40 minutes for about 5 entrees to come out and we saw a lot of the other patrons had cleared out. A friend and I met up to get the tail end of 333's happy hour. There are four beers on happy hour at the awesome price of $3.33. I went for the latest Back East black IPA. Nick was an awesome, enthusiastic server. He helped us pick the food to get (no happy hour food deals, though). My friend and I were split on our favorite items on the menu. I loved the buffalo chicken meatballs, and she loved the general tso's flavor. I liked the orange bbq wings, and she liked the garlic parm wings.
