I have been here a couple of times and enjoyed the experience. The service is great even when the place is busy. The seaside decor and outside patio provides a backdrop for a fresh seafood experience. Oysters from the raw bar were perfectly opened. Great addition to the neighborhood. For the most part we've really enjoyed the food, and service has been great with an owner that clearly cares. The only misses have been the brunch, which was pretty lackluster, and some of the pricing seems a little steep for what you get. For example, quite like the salmon they do, but not for nearly $40. If the pricing was a little more competitive, we'd go more often. read more

Saturday late afternoon/early evening at Anchor Social is fast becoming Milford's newest hot spot, with a large patio area available for private parties with an full service bar. Once inside, the restaurant space just opens up with tables, chairs and booths in the dining room. On the other side is the large bar with more seating, just amazing how big this place is?? Our waitress was the lovely Nicole, who is so sweet, and personable. She has been my waitress on previous visits ! I ordered the Fish and Chips dinner with a Counterweight Headway Draft. Very relaxed restaurant, first visit on a Tuesday. The Tuesday tacos were great and the hot lobster roll was loaded with meat, not saturated in butter and roll toasted perfectly. Fries excellent. The menu margarita and the old fashion were so good, had to have a seconds! However, the roasted oysters stole the show; they were scrumptious and definitely worth diving into! Overall, the service was smooth sailing, with our server being knowledgeable and engaging. The only hiccup was the promised customer survey that never made it to our table--perhaps it got lost at sea? But instead, here's my review in lieu of that survey. Anchor Social is a fantastic addition to the Woodmont dining scene, and while they have a few kinks to work out, I'm confident that with time, this spot will become a go-to destination for seafood lovers and beachgoers alike. In fact, everything was off - even the rigatoni, which sounded amazing, but sadly... disappointed. The prosciutto bits didn't taste like prosciutto unless you nibbled them on their own. The sauce? Lacked salt and seasoning... and really? Registered more of a sausage flavor. Again, not unpleasant, but just not 'right.' It felt like this was a place that had just opened and had a sub-in chef (like the main person called out sick). Every single thing we ordered missed the mark - and it wasn't terrible... it was just off. The staff was fine (though they didn't really seem to have a rhythm either), the overall experience? They made some beautiful renovations and have elevated the menu and bar in ways Village Bistro struggled with. They are still in soft open but the food was delicious and the martini was perfect. The service is still being worked out, the prices are higher (1 adult 2 kids $90) but the ambiance and location make it worth it. . The interior has been completely renovated and the beachy vibe is perfect for the surrounding neighborhood. While their menu is understandably limited, the food was outstanding and our server, Joe, was friendly and accommodating. I started with a Moby Dick cocktail ( Grey Whale gin with St. Germain and blueberry purée) it was delightful! Just the right amount of sweetness and you could taste the gin. For my appetizer I got the Crab Nachos. Initially I was disappointed that they were not hot... however, I soon realized that "hot" temperature would have not allowed the freshness of the cumin lime crema along with the roasted corn and crab to shine the way that they did!! Next, my partner and I split an Anchor Burger. YUM!!! I asked for medium and it was perfectly cooked! The fries were not gluten free.. so those of you gluten sensitive beware.
