Enjoying a Two Conn Easy Ale while braving the Blizzard conditions

With today being a very busy day and night, upcoming on this St. Patrick's Day people have a lot of options on where to go and what to eat? Everyone goes Corned Beef Crazy. I decided to stay closer to home and visit my favorite place for a quick lunch. Thanks to Carl for helping me pick out a new beer for me to try?

Almost 4 stars. I've driven by for a year and finally stopped in. Busy and popular neighborhood bar and restaurant. Drink was good and strong. Steak in tacos was cooked perfectly. Chicken tacos were not great. Chicken was over sized and under seasoned. Brussel sprouts are worth visiting for. Fantastic. Our server seemed tired. Anything we asked for came with a little "look". However, I will definitely return.

Great scenery right across from Long Island sound

Since this restaurant was the only one open after the Memorial Day parade, we decided to finally give it a try. Most importantly thank you to all who served in our armed forces both living and deceased! The scenery is lovely across from the ocean, and the service was very good. There is also plenty of parking in the lot next door. The menu is somewhat limited with a big emphasis on a variety of creative alcoholic beverages. We tried an interesting combination of brie cheese, fig jam, and a black bean burger. It was tasty and was a nice size portion.

This is a great spot to watch a sports game or hang outside and have a few drinks with friends. I came by on a Sunday afternoon with my family to grab lunch since we were in the area. It wasn't too busy and there was plenty of seating. We ordered the fried pickles to start and found that they were made with far too much batter. You could barely taste the pickle! The portion size could have been a little bigger too. However the wings were great - very meaty and I enjoyed the mild buffalo sauce. The perfect amount of spicy for me. My parents both ordered sandwiches and said they were ok, nothing noteworthy. I wouldn't recommend the french fries, they weren't crispy and flavorful. I had high hopes for this spot as the interior is so cute, but the food isn't anything to write home about.

Wide selection of beer on tap. Friendly and quick service. Food is decent. There are 4-5 tvs in with various games. It can get pretty loud.

My daughter and her husband just went there for food and drinks. She ordered the buffalo spring rolls. After one bite, which she said tasted chemically, she found a MAGGOT inside. Absolutely Gross!! See the attached pic for yourself. She contacted the health department and filed a complaint. I've been there several times before, but now I'll never go there again! ...Hey Yelp, I tried attaching the pic several times. It showed once and disappeared

Such a great place to relax & take in the scenery, being right across from Long Island Sound. I had the pleasure of dining here on a beautiful sunny day. They open the large front windows so it's completely exposed & you get to feel refreshing breeze as you sip on your cold beverages. The menu is averaged priced, & it's money well spent. My party of 3 ordered calamari, Ahi tacos, Mahi Mahi tacos, pork sliders & fried pickles. We all shared & loved everything except for the Mahi Mahi tacos. Sadly, it was dry. Even with the sauce that comes with it. The Ahi tacos, however, were amazingly good & moist. The bright pink of the tuna definitely catches your eye & makes your mouth water. The calamari & pickles were one of the best apps I've had. Both were meaty & crunchy. I did ask for the dry rub on the calamari, but didn't actually taste it. My partners agreed. Nonetheless, they were still scrumptious. The pork sliders were also moist, tender & very flavorful. I have to also mention on soft those buns were. I may put in 2 orders of those next time. The vibes here are so inviting & casual. I like the convenience of the location, being right across from the water. You could pick up food & go sit on the benches or bring a chair, & just relax.

Upscale dive bar with great water views. We loved our entrees but thought for two burgers and a salad, the wait was excessive. Coconut margarita was disappointing, too heavy on the sour mix. Highly recommend the burrata salad. A great spot to explore a hidden gem of the Long Island sound.

Where to begin? Let's start with service. Try being more of an inviting and welcoming hostess instead of being rude- rushed/ wishy washy inconsistencies. To the owner, remember it's hospitality. A good first impression is a lasting one. Secondly, wait times. Tell the people who are patiently waiting to give you business- how long it will take instead of brushing them off and giving a bogus timespan and leaving them in limbo. Again remember, they are patiently waiting to give you business instead of going somewhere else. I rated this originally 3 now if I could give negative 5 it would be more in line with the experience.

Small place, friendly wait staff. The food was very good, expected it to be like any old bar food but it def surpassed it. Loves all the combos of the cracked pepper tuna salad, the pickled veggies and sauce really made it all tie together and it was huge. I got 2 meals out of it. The nachos were pretty good, I tend to like melted cheese on mine rather than queso style Cheese but had a good amount of toppings and was very tasty. I look forward to when the outside part opens!

I stopped in by myself for oysters on the half shell, clams, a beer, and a lobster roll to go. I was first told rather abruptly that I couldn't sit outside because it was reservation-only seating, which I understood, so I sat at the bar instead. Unfortunately, I then waited about 15 minutes before anyone even took my order. Once someone finally came over, I ordered everything at once a beer, oysters, clams to enjoy there, and a lobster roll to go. After waiting over an hour, the only thing I had received was my beer. No one checked in, gave me an update, or acknowledged the delay. Since I was on a tight schedule, I finally asked for my check, paid for the beer, and left without eating anything. Looking around, it seemed like several other tables were also waiting on food. I'm not upset because the kitchen was busy. I understand holidays are hectic. What was frustrating was the lack of communication. A simple update or acknowledgment would have gone a long way. This has never happened to me here before, which is why this experience was so disappointing.

It was founded by business partners Gino Fetta, his son Luigi Fetta, along with cousin and chef Al Dinofrio and friend Mark Lynch. Both Gino and Luigi have 60+ years of combined experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry. They had initially been looking for a space to open a new restaurant in Milford, but then they learned of the availability of a space along the shoreline in West Haven. The space had hosted a number of restaurants over the years, including Savin Rock Roasting Company. Gino is a lifelong butcher and had previously operated as the "meat man" behind the aforementioned restaurant. Luigi has a wealth of knowledge of mixology and a strong passion for food. The father and son completely gutted the space, gave it a nautical theme, and named their eatery after the nearby Oak Street Beach. The menu (which is always changing) features a variety of Italian-influenced entrees, seafood, tacos, sandwiches, flatbreads, salads, and various tavern appetizers. I recently visited Oak Beach Bar + Grill while I was meeting up with some work colleagues for an after-work happy hour. We were all seated in the dining room area. I really like the nautical theme and the fact that the location is a short walking distance from the local beaches and the Savin Rock boardwalk. I first started off with a plate of "Stuffed Clams" (bacon, mozzarella, bread stuffing). The staff weren't kidding when they said "stuffed". The stuffing was seasoned well and the clams were very flavorful. I follow them up with the "Fish Tacos" (oven baked Atlantic cod, pico de Gallo, shredded lettuce, avocado crema). The fish was cooked well, but the icing on the cake was the pico and the crema. I washed my delicious food down with cans of Athletic Brewing's "Run Wild" (IPA) and "Upside Dawn" (Golden Lager). If you find yourself by the West Haven shoreline and are craving a delicious lunch or dinner then head to Oak Beach Bar + Grill!

First opinion was not positive as there are three doors with signs on them and a good amount of junk on the outside, so curb appeal was lacking. We went in, weren't greeted, but greeted the brewery-tender. He doesn't say anything really, doesn't welcome us, or offer to tell us about the brewery even though we share its our first time. The place is clean, with darts, and board games (in disrepair). The Rangers have just started playing, first period. I ordered a white wine, hubby a citra session ipa. Hubby thought the beer was great, however served with a 2" head so not as exciting. Quickly after arriving, a family arrived with a bunch of kids who treated the place as a McDonalds play space. No one said a thing as they ran crazy, throwing darts, and just being kids on a playground, yelling and screaming. Eventually, another group comes in, most likely owners as nothing was rang up, and kiddo was behind bar playing on POS system, but suddenly the bartender was friendlier, and the parents asked the kiddos to chill. This brewery can't grow with this experience to new customers. Dockside is only in their fifth year, they run like a well oiled machine. Plus side for this small brewery, it was clean, wine was not bottom barrel but a good choice, and hubby very much liked the beers. When we arrived, the bartender was watching the hockey game. The board games were all in disarray. I personally fixed most of them, because we were looking for something to challenge each other with besides drinking lol. Maybe in down times, fix things up. Overall, if not for the very rambunctious kiddos running and screaming, we would rate it a four. Today I can't. Six years in business and not growing, your beers are great, wine is better than most, but atmosphere is a playground. Another tip is to provide ice. Water provided is warm. Go check them out as beer and vino are good.

Willett began entering his beer into homebrew competitions and eventually beat out 40 other contestants at a contest in Stamford. Eventually Willett and Candido decided to join forces and open their own brick and mortar brewery: the first one to open in Milford which now has a growing craft beer scene. It is their mission to produce great-tasting quality beer for local beer drinkers. Most of their offerings are named after points of interest in Milford. I first visited Milford Point Brewing in March 2019. I devoted that day to trying out some new breweries in the area that I hadn't visited yet. Milford Point was my last stop of the day. They have a cozy taproom in a business park and most of the clientele seemed to be locals. I sat at the bar and ordered a flight of four which consisted of "06460" (Citra Session IPA), "Silver Sands" (IPA), "West Shore" (Double IPA), and "Settlers Stout" (Milk Stout). The Silver Sands IPA was my favorite of the flight and I purchased a four-pack of cans to take home. Milford Point makes a nice addition to the city's craft beer scene.
