I really loved this place. The ambience is very nice - feels like a quaint hidden gem. Beware if you sit outside there's normally people causing trouble at the bodega across the street. We had a ring, the doorbell camera thing yes, thrown at us during our dinner by them and also a homeless person that came up to us while eating. I was very grateful to our server, Samuel, who handled the situation in the most professional way I've ever seen. Servers in New York must be trained for this type of thing I assume, but if not, A+ for Samuel. They asked the homeless person how they could help, which riled up the homeless person a little, claiming "this didn't concern the server". Yet Samuel could sense our discomfort, explained we were guests of the restaurant, and paid the homeless person as repeatedly requested. As for the food, the wine is great and the warm chocolate lava cake (I think is on the menu as "Virsuvius") is TO DIE FOR. I was so shocked at how good it was. The chicken parmesan was a bit undercooked, but I was craving it so I enjoyed it nonetheless. Doesn't come with any side dish though. My friend got the penne alla vodka which was a little cold but delicious. The tiramisu dessert is a bit strange. All in all, for the price point of this place and the location, I thought it was fantastic. I need to go back and try the pizza, what they are actually known for lol. My friend and I came for the happy hour oysters. The oysters were delicious & meaty. We decided to also try the burrata, it could've used a little salt. The pesto sauce was delicious. The waiter advised us to get the flambè pizza, its a customer favorite and I see why. It was amazing!! Pizza, seafood, and cocktails are the makings of a dream restaurant to me. So when my original birthday dinner plans fell through, I was excited to move my party to the dining room at Pizzette. From the outside you'd have no idea there exists a large and well decorated dining room tucked behind the wood fired oven and long bar in the front, but it's great for large parties, with enough room to dance, should you desire. Though not technically a dance floor nor dance venue, the staff was so energetic you'd be inclined to turn your whole meal into a party. A dinner rife with pizza, seafood, and cocktails demands it, after all. Since I went with a large group I had the fortune of trying a lot of their menu, which covers a lot of ground. Antipasto, raw bar, pasta, pizza, cucina and salads all have a lengthy list of options to choose from, so if you're struggling with the paradox of choice here, I'd recommend picking one item from the cocktail, seafood, and pizza sections because that's where they really shine over the others. The seafood here is very fresh and I enjoyed all the oysters on the half shell I started dinner with. Pizzettes are 12" and a great size if you want to have one to yourself or a nice size to share and order a few of since they have such a breadth of topping options. The cocktails are made nice and strong though I did find them overwhelmingly sweet for my palate. I'm sure you could ask them to use a lighter hand on the simply syrup if you so desired. Speaking of, all fruit syrups and ingredients used in the cocktails are made in house, in keeping with their ethos of delivering fresh Italian food to their patrons. The owner is a very kind man named Steve who is a lifelong chef and also owns Mominette and Bushwick Bakery nearby. He generously gifted me with a chocolate cake for my friends and I to enjoy, and for that and creating such a wonderful ambience for my group dinner I am adding another star. It's clear they care a great deal about community and making their customers happy and hosting a party in the back dining room is bound to make for a great night. read more

I got the red hot chili pizzette and loved the the flavors and spiciness, and that sourdough crust was awesome--perfectly cooked and doughy on the inside with a little crisp on the out. Also got the $1 oysters and they were very tasty and fresh. It was decently priced as well, and we got a free margherita pizette by checking in on yelp and ordering a signature cocktail (the B43 cocktail was one of the best tasting cocktails I've had but unfortunately it was weak on the alcohol level, the margarita we ordered was weak too and hence 4 stars not 5). And for dessert, can't remember the name but we got a tiramisu, cheesecake, chocolate cake in one-- chocolatey, good and big enough to share between 3 people. How i love it when out of the blue, when i am looking for just a simple sandwich to grab ,I end up having one of the BEST PIZZA IN NYC !! Yes , yes ... you reading it right and its not hyperbolic . We got 2 pizzas (and they have more that i will definitely will try soon...) To make it interesting we went with the fruit/cheese combo "fig and goat" and we did have the "red hot chilly pizza" though not as hot and spicy as we expected it to be. Both fantastic !!! Loved this place until tonight. We were seated at a small round table outside, it wasn't secure correctly, and collapsed. All of the glassware fell off the table, my boyfriend was cut, and not once did they apologize. You'd expect when something like this happens, them not securing the table properly and as a result injuring someone in you party, you'd get at least a little something comped. That didn't happen and we were going to let it go, and then the waiter comes back to tell us it's cash only when you order happy hour oysters. I went in and explained that it seemed a little unsavory to allow that to happen, without apology or any como, it's just not good service. Waitress was then very cold and waiter rolled his eyes. People, people! We are visiting BK from California and happen to be staying across the street from Pizzette. We walked in for dinner and drinks and wow, what a delicious experience! The pastas and sauce are homemade as are the sausage AND the mozzarella. All recipes from the owner's Italian family. We enjoyed the spaghetti and meatballs and the sausage pizza with fresh shaved fennel. It was all so delicious and so well thought out. We got to chatting with the owner and learned that all their cocktails are made with fresh juices and they added three lemoncellos to their menu. We got to sample both the lime and blood orange lemoncellos and they were also just so good. Hubby had a spicy margarita that he really enjoyed. It was so fresh. I hope to be back before we travel back home. But if you live here, you would be at a loss if you don't eat and drink here. Such an exciting experience. And such nice people. What a gem this place is! We've been here twice. The oysters are fantastic. Their $1 oyster happy is 4-6pm and their drink happy hour is 4-7 pm and you also get a free oyster with every HH drink. We've tried two pizzas there. The Carne and the Romana. My boyfriend tricked me into ordering the Romana which had anchovies on it....not about it. They even offer $1 oysters every Monday and have a very solid Happy Hour menu from 4-7 pm daily, boasting drinks from $4 to $8. Although Pizzette is known for its organic sourdough pizza, they have a diverse menu of mouth watering delicious cuisine and their mixed drinks are amazing. This visit, I ordered the Pizzette Burger, which was served with salad and home fries for $16. The burger was sculpted from ground angus and topped with house pickles, handmade mozzarella, tomato, arugala and couched between a locally baked brioche bun. The burger was fresh, filling, and tasty. The home fries were finger licking good. The salad was light and fresh. The dressing, a house vinaigrette, was subtlety satisfying. Aside from the food, the customer service was very personable. The bartender/manger, Angie, is very knowledgeable and pleasant. She knew the menu, like the back of her hand. The restaurant is very clean and well maintained. There's ample seating indoor and outdoors. It's a great place for rolling solo, dates (heart shaped pizzas by request and lounge like ambiance), or hosting party.
