Even though I am a native North Sider, (Lakeview neighborhood), I've been a HUGE fan of Vito & Nick's on South Pulaski for DECADES.... Tonight, however, I was introduced to Pizzaboy... HOLY CRAP!!! 1: Jalapeño Poppers were on point. Not too oily on the inside, well seasoned and not drowning in grease on the outside. 2: Cherry Bombs??? YES, PLEASE!!! They were flavorful, NOT oily, and ...as the kids used to say...THE BOMB...the name fits. It was spectacular. 3: The Edison Park Deluxe...FANTASTIC!!! Although, I would liked the extra thin crust to be a bit more crispy...(maybe some more cornmeal underneath the dough in the oven?) but the ingredients were all top quality and it showed in the flavor. 4: Margherita: No idea...that was my wife's...but she said it was "VERY GOOD", and she is NOT easy to please. (after 31 years of marriage, I know that VERY well...and have mastered it...so for the Piza to earn VERY GOOD from her...BRAVO. Will DEFINITELY be back! I would've posted pics of the food, but I was hungry and dove right in...

This place is awesome ! We ordered take out but wow the portion size is very generous and it's one of the places in the city where you can get Detroit style pizza ! We got the "Don" Detroit style and it was delicious with the hot honey! We added the red chilli pepper on top n it's was perfect and very nice dough ! Also the portions are huge so well worth the 30 dollars for 2-3 ppl! We also tried the wings n got the mango Haberno and portions are also gigantic as well! Well worth 13 bucks for 10 wings ! The house salad is a good pairing as well. We usually go to Pauli g for Detroit style pizza but this is gonna be one of new fav places to also go as well!

I'm not sure what happened...we loved pizza boy and ordered from here all the time. The last few times have been so disappointing. We ordered delivery this past Friday and was told it would be 45minutes to an hour...an hour and 15 minutes later we called to see where our pizza was...we were told it's on the way...we got it finally, an hour and a half after we ordered it! This has happened often when we ordered delivery. The pizza had little to no flavor, and the cheese curds are not as good as they once were... I like to spend my $ on neighborhood restaurants, but I don't know if we can order from here again. The worst was ordering the cheese curds the other night and finding fried/breaded mushrooms mixed in. My children were not happy. My husband thought it was bad cheese until I looked closely and could smell the mushroom.... Just disappointed in the decline of food quality

Pizza was okay. We just picked from the ready made slices available that day. My kids enjoyed their thin crust pizzas. I had a nonna's pie. It was very crispy and had hot honey drizzled. It's a very large space with good amount of seating. It looks like they also have a party room. The service was very good.

We went in for pizza by the slice. My daughters loved the thin crust. I had the Detroit style. I thought it was good not great. I would give it another try but I don't think I would get the Detroit style again. Service was good. And the restaurant was clean.

I'm so glad we decided to order from here! I wasn't sure, to be honest. I don't think of Edison Park as a hotbed of great pizza, especially a place that seems like it's out to be hip and instaworthy, but that's my mistake. I wanted to try the Detroit style pizza, which I've only had once in Detroit and didn't know there were places around here that made it. We got the Sweetheat. Pineapple was a favorite pizza topping when I was little, but I haven't been as keen on it in many years; however, it worked really well on this pizza. I've never had banana peppers, but the ingredients of this pizza are a great combination. In the Detroit style version it comes with hot honey as well, but we decided to leave it out since honey isn't something I'm especially fond of and we wanted to keep the possible mess to a minimum. I'd be curious to try it sometime with the honey, though I doubt they sell it by the slice... perhaps if I order again I'll ask for the honey only on part of the pizza. We also ordered some appetizers, fried mushrooms and garlic knots. Neither were great. I think I misunderstood and thought the garlic knots had cheese in them. And the mushrooms aren't my thing but they unexpectedly came with a dusting of parmesan cheese, which my partner doesn't like, so we had to pick around that and only about half of it was eaten. Definitely would skip the garlic knots next time and possibly the mushrooms (or at least ask that they leave the garnish off). They delivered, which thrilled me since I didn't want to have to go pick it up, especially now that the time change has occurred and it gets dark at 2pm (I feel like it's time to hibernate once the sun goes down). The estimate I was given was almost two hours, which I was actually fine with since it was a Friday night and it wouldn't surprise me that they'd be busy, but it came within an hour so that was another happy surprise. If you're a pizza connoisseur or just want to try something new, Pizzaboy is worth your time.

PIZZA LOVERS BEWARE!!! The Detroit pizza which I was told they are famous for was horrible!! My pizza was burnt on the bottom and it tasted like burnt olive oil, they overcooked it so much that it wasn't even cheesy.It was dry. We paid extra money to have extra pepperoni. Put on the Pizza as you can clearly see, it was not there. The second pizza ordered was a vodka sauce pizza with sausage, roasted, red pepper and garlic. When you lift it up the cheese, you couldn't even find the vodka sauce on there, this pizza was extremely greasy! I called the establishment and asked if I could speak to a manager, the gentleman that got on the phone happened to be the owner. I tried to explain to him everything going on with the pizza, he offered to make us a new one. But at this point, why would we want another Pizza? When we had everybody that was here who had a couple pieces and weren't happy with it. My son at this point was very upset. Because we spent $73 for these 2 pizzas. We asked the gentleman if we could just get some money credited back to our card Since it was a failure. My son was in the background, talking about how he had detroit style pizza from jets, and it was ten times better. The owner I guess was upset by hearing this because he ended up hanging up on me. I think this was a very unprofessional manner.And attitude that this gentleman had with me.Stating and being an owner! His excuse for the pizza being that way is that he didn't make it because he had to run out and make some pizza deliveries. Well I suggest if you're gonna leave other people in the kitchen to cook your pizzas that they should know how to cook a pizza!! Save your money people!!

Pizza by the slice-- Excellent flavor and crunchy fresh crust is to die for!

We needed to grab a bite before going to Firewater to see a music act. We loved the fast service and the flash heating of the pizza by the slice. (Mmm!) Good value for the money--if you are a bit grease averse, dab this pizza with a few napkins. But good either way. We enjoyed the crunchy crust and great toppings and cheese! Counter service was attentive-- you can eat in or take out. Try it and you won't be dissatisfied. Trust me!

Dropped by for some thin crust slices and couldn't have been more surprised by the quality. Nice crunch, saltiness, good chew from the cheese. The thin crust is a must and the only thing I would be returning for. The deep dish I found to be too heavy and you're just eating the bread. Garlic knots had good flavor, but once again, too much bread. Stick with the thin crust and you'll be rewarded with the perfect ratio of crust to topping and a satisfying crunch.

My daughter and I are HUGE fans of Smothered! We had to stop and eat at Pizzaboy when we were visiting Chicago on 3/4/25. The pizza was delicious and the garlic knots were amazing. Carlo came out and said hi. We were speechless and so excited to meet him. The entire experience was so much fun. We were smothered at Pizzaboy.

Place is fire. Ingredients are fresh and the attention to detail is unmatched for a pizza joint. Edison Park is lucky to have this spot to add to their choices . We had Detroit style with sausage and Mike's hot honey. Amazing. Also, rocked a thin crust pepperoni that was great too. read more

Edible. Maybe it's better if you dine in. Tried takeout twice. 15 to 20 minute drive to sit down and eat. One time the crust was so soggy that a spatula was needed to pick up all but the crust pieces. The other time the crust was not soggy, it was like thin plywood. Will I try it again? Depends on how drunk I get next door. read more

Local pizza house offered up slices for my afternoon snack. 1 sausage and one pepperoni. It was ok. These were barely heated up by dizzy girlstaff. Price was high at nearly $11 for 2 slices. Pizza was passable but hard to rate lukewarm pizza. Place might be for real--I'm not sure. read more

We have been waiting for this place to open forever!! We ordered pizza and wings. Both were super good! Thin crust was crispy and light. Only complaint is that the pepperoni is chopped up really finely and hard to taste in the pizza. Definitely will be ordering again. Would love to try the Detroit style next! read more

Absolutely amazing from start to finish! Instant greeting from the host as soon as we walked in even though she was swamped! This definitely carried over into the service which was very attentive and friendly! Now let's talk food. We tried several things. Pizza, breaded steak, breaded cheese curds and fried dough for dessert and EVERYTHING was delicious! Well worth the 2-1/2 round trip drive. Pizza crust was crispy and done perfectly and the steak was so tender and the homemade giardiniera sent it over the top. Everything is done so fresh and portions are huge. Great bang for your buck! Met the owner Carlo and he was awesome! So friendly. Had a nice chat with him. We will definitely be back! Don't sleep on this one. It will become a favorite! read more

How can you call yourself a neighborhood without a pizza joint? Edison Park doesn't have to worry, they have Pizzaboy! You can eat in (inside or outside) or take it with you. The pizza never disappoints. My boys especially like the little ball of dough they get sometimes when we order. Pizza, dough nuggets, salads...they got you covered. read more

Came here with my family to celebrate my brothers birthday lets just say this is one of the best thin crust pizzas i have ever had the sauce was fantastic ingredients were super fresh. We also tried the Detroit style pizza the pepperoni was so THICK and crisp so good! And the appetizers were also delicious we ordered fries mozzarella sticks jalapeño poppers and cheese curds and also a garden salad and you can tell it was fresh with the crisp cucumber and lettuce. And for dessert we had some cannolis so good! We came all the way from the southwest side of Chicago near Midway just to try it out and we will come back again the staff was friendly place was super clean. Only suggestion i have for the owner maybe some bigger tables because your portions are huge!! Which is fantastic and the price is very fair. Thank you pizza boy we will be back soon read more

Ordered the first time after reading many great reviews! We are always on the hunt for a great extra thin crust ! We found that at pizza boy!! We ate 1/2 the pizza and shared the other half with our son and his family the next day! They gave 2 thumbs up! Would have been a solid 5 but the curly fries were run of the mill and the wings were , tho very tasty, over cooked! Prices were reasonable and the delivery was right on point! Being open only a few weeks this place runs like it's been there for 30 years! Drove by and seen the pizza on display in the window and made the fastest U-turn ever! Had a slice of the Detroit with pepperoni and sausage and drizzled mikes honey on it. Order 10 chicken drums and those were the best legs I have ever kissed! Cant wait to go back! read more

Our family goes to PIZZABOY sometimes twice a week but for sure every Friday for Pizza, fries, mozzarella sticks everything is DELICIOUS. The only disappointment was when I got charged 75 cent per little cup of ketchup for our fries, when I ask the counter staff she mentioned to me that they charge for condiments to make a long story short the owner had her give me back $1.50 PS WE LOVE PIZZABOY! ************* read more

We are from Las Vegas, so obviously wouldn't have known about this place without seeing the show... we happened to be in town and of course were wanting to try it. Located in a cute lil suburb of Chicago. Super friendly staff. Food came out and well exceeded our expectations! The owner was there and came out and checked on us and several other tables. Ticked off! Happy the business is doing well, but what the hell. Monday night trying to order a pizza. I can't order online and when I call nobody answers! Did the hours change? Meh. Did not think it was good. Service was great when I picked up our order but the food was disappointing. The Detroit style pizza was not cooked well. It was cooked very unevenly. Burnt on the edges, and wasn't crisped on the rest of the pizza. It seemed soggy in some spots. Plus the sauce and toppings were lack luster. Sauce really had no flavor and was bland, and the sasuage they use had a odd consistency and flavor. I am all for supporting a small business but we just didn't think it was good. read more

Unfortunately, I had already eaten before stopping by Pizzaboy Pizzeria, but I really came by because I'm a huge fan of Smothered & familiar with Edison Park. I walked by and saw Carlo in the window & was excited to meet him. I ended up meeting Cristina AND Carlo- bonus! Unfortunately, I just missed her mom, Kathy. They are both so down to earth and sweet! Such a treat to my visit to Chicago! If I had to rate the front desk young lady- well- honestly she sucked, 0 stars, her attitude & looks while I was excited & starstruck meeting Cristina were ridiculously rude & obnoxious. She was trying to get Cristina's attention to laugh about my reaction. It's ok- she's only about 12- she'll learn how to be professional & appropriate. read more

Great tasting pizza! We ordered their pan pizza and it was delicious. Ingredients on the pizza tasted very fresh and crust was cooked perfectly. Pizza was delivered nice and hot and within the time quoted. Truly a gem of Edison Park. If you have not tried Pizza Boy yet then you definitely should! read more

Placed an order on July 4 in their online system, tipped driver, delivery estimate at 7:24. Turns out they were closed. Still put a charge on my credit card. No answer on phone for a couple of days. Spoke to them twice once I was able to get hold of them. Two weeks in a row they promised to refund the charge/ So far, nothing. It sounded like they had a lot of people in same situation as me. read more

Called after being on hold with Pizza Hut for 15 Minutes without being able to talk to a human. Answered phone on first ring! Picked up the in 30 minutes. Pizza was fantastic, great dough, sauce and cheese. Kathy was very gracious and friendly. Had to comment on my last name, which is BABE! Asked about my wife's name (Chrisor Babe). So happy to have a new great Italian pizzeria in the area. Everyone please do not hesitate to order from them. Turned my bad night into a good one. read more

It just looks like a normal pizzeria but when you get inside it has amazing staff they are super nice and they even gave my three kids pizza dough to play with! On the weekend they rent it out for make your own pizza parties! read more

The restaurant itself is very small, maybe 20 tables inside and 4 outside (hence the need for a reservation), but it was busy the entire time we were there. For the many amazing eateries in Chicago, this is one that I would place up against all the others but if you decide to dine here, make sure to call ahead for a reservation to guarantee being seated quicker however, if you do not do so, expect an hour wait or longer with possibly one of the most unique views in the place.

hi! i want to start off by saying i DO NOT recommend this establishment to anyone. i'd recommend pizzahut or little caesars over this dump. the food is garbage, and the manager is a raging douche to his employees. if i could've chosen to give no stars, i would've. as a server/phone attendant, i was told i also had to prepare bulk salads for the orders. cool, except no gloves were provided to prepare salads with, we were told to still use wilted lettuce and basil even if it was completely unrecognizable, as well as mushy tomatoes that we couldn't even hold on to for slicing, and brown slimy avocados that sat for days on end in the fridge. remember how they used to be closed on mondays? yeah, barely anyone was ordering salads on the weekends, so he told us to just leave the avocado halves in the fridge, uncovered, over the weekends! if i prepared a salad or sliced an avocado on a friday, dated it, and it was still in the fridge by tuesday, it was the first salad we had to sell. even if it smelled nasty, was full of water, brown and slimy, we were still expected to SELL THAT to PAYING CUSTOMERS!!! we also had to stay 30 minutes to an hour (unpaid time, btw) extra to clean HIS STATIONS that we weren't allowed to be near until the end of the night. i got screamed at on several occasions for walking over to carlo to ask a question, which wouldn't have been an issue if his wife, cristina, actually did her job as the front of house manager. he cursed out my younger cousin, who is neurodivergent (he has severe adhd and has never had a real job before) during a trial shift and treated me terribly for months on end when i worked there. as servers and phone attendants, we were told to bring any questions to cristina, but her office was always locked because she was too busy being a hollywood wannabe for tlc to do her job. quite frankly, the manager, carlo, is an oversized little boy who's incapable of doing anything. he is constantly using foul language and verbally abusing his employees, and his wife just sits back and watches, on the rare occasion she's actually there to do her job. the only good part about this place is the vibe of the restaurant when it's empty. you'd think with all the eyes on this place from the wife's tlc show, they'd be high quality or pretty damn close to it, but honestly this is the worst pizza place i've ever been to. my pizza has never been hot when i've ordered it, whether that be in store, for pickup, or delivery, and everything is inconsistent in quality. some cold, mushy fries, others burnt, all the same batch, yet never consistent. shame on you, carlo and cristina, i hope your business tanks like the views on sMothered do when cristina shows up on screen, and the listeners on the podcasts carlo shows up on just to feel relevant:) a bunch of prissy little fake italians run that place and i'd never recommend it to anyone, even if i hated their guts. food is trash, management is trash, and the only reason it's still open is because the owners care more about being famous than the quality of their food. pardon the language, but f*ck pizzaboy and the slop they call food. they're not real italians, they're just some whiny little babies from the upper east coast. i wish they would go spend daddy's money on another business, since this one is trash just like the idiots running it. sincerely, a former employee PRAYING for this business to crumble. read more

I don't usually leave negative reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience due to the consistently poor service I received. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that customer care was not a priority. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive. I waited far too long just to be acknowledged, and even then, I was met with an unfriendly attitude. My questions were met with vague answers or dismissiveness, and there was no effort to offer any real help or courtesy. What was most frustrating was the lack of accountability--no apologies for the delays or confusion, and certainly no effort to make the experience better. It felt like I was an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. It's disappointing when a business doesn't take pride in providing even the basics of good service. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend it to anyone who values respectful, efficient, and attentive service. read more

Holy cow their garlic knots are out of this world! I've been a huge fan of their pizza since they opened - best thin crust and also like the specialty Detroit style slices like the BBQ chicken. We recently tried their garlic knots and they are to die for. Dough is made from scratch - chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside. I had to make choices and one of them was less thinking more munching. Two other main things, often a lot of pizzas have a decent amount of salt for whatever reason, that was not the case here. I do like the "zing" you get from salt but I have people in my life where it's not their thing. This was right at the perfect amount of salt where if you wanted more, you can sprinkle it on. The other item is, I've become a bit more sensitive to pizza sauce and this has not caused me any issues. Mind you, I'll still eat it if it wasn't, because it's pizza, I'm just remarking that I don't have to worry about heartburn or antacids. I was making my own pizza sauce w/ San Marzano tomatoes but that takes too long and the premium brands are good but pricey. So to get a pizza that ticks all the boxes is amazing. Other points - I've only ever ordered take-out and haven't had a problem. Every time I have visited, there are guests, and not sure if they're having a great time or they work there, but they've been welcoming so the restaurant is doing something right. The atmosphere was pretty nice as well but the inner door doesn't seem level. It's at an angle or doesn't smoothly shut. I'm a weekend warrior for my own house so not a pro. I only mention this because it was cold and I didn't want to be "that guy" letting the heat out. Pretty sure a carpenter can resolve this and keep the door as it felt like a proper wood door. A bit of nostalgia from days past. Regardless, this place is great. I may order other items besides pizza but their Italian delight is exactly what I wanted, an Italian Beef in pizza form. I do have a question, have ya'll thought about a tavern crust offering? Granted it can't handle the same weight as thin / pan, it's often a nice option when you want pizza but don't want a lot of pizza and a bit of a char taste :-) Either that and or let me know if I can just ask for the pizza to be slightly over baked :-D No pics - we went to town on it.
