This place is awesome ! We ordered take out but wow the portion size is very generous and it's one of the places in the city where you can get Detroit style pizza ! We got the "Don" Detroit style and it was delicious with the hot honey! We added the red chilli pepper on top n it's was perfect and very nice dough ! Also the portions are huge so well worth the 30 dollars for 2-3 ppl! We also tried the wings n got the mango Haberno and portions are also gigantic as well! Well worth 13 bucks for 10 wings ! The house salad is a good pairing as well. We usually go to Pauli g for Detroit style pizza but this is gonna be one of new fav places to also go as well!

I'm not sure what happened...we loved pizza boy and ordered from here all the time. The last few times have been so disappointing. We ordered delivery this past Friday and was told it would be 45minutes to an hour...an hour and 15 minutes later we called to see where our pizza was...we were told it's on the way...we got it finally, an hour and a half after we ordered it! This has happened often when we ordered delivery. The pizza had little to no flavor, and the cheese curds are not as good as they once were... I like to spend my $ on neighborhood restaurants, but I don't know if we can order from here again. The worst was ordering the cheese curds the other night and finding fried/breaded mushrooms mixed in. My children were not happy. My husband thought it was bad cheese until I looked closely and could smell the mushroom.... Just disappointed in the decline of food quality

Pizza was okay. We just picked from the ready made slices available that day. My kids enjoyed their thin crust pizzas. I had a nonna's pie. It was very crispy and had hot honey drizzled. It's a very large space with good amount of seating. It looks like they also have a party room. The service was very good.

We went in for pizza by the slice. My daughters loved the thin crust. I had the Detroit style. I thought it was good not great. I would give it another try but I don't think I would get the Detroit style again. Service was good. And the restaurant was clean.

I'm so glad we decided to order from here! I wasn't sure, to be honest. I don't think of Edison Park as a hotbed of great pizza, especially a place that seems like it's out to be hip and instaworthy, but that's my mistake. I wanted to try the Detroit style pizza, which I've only had once in Detroit and didn't know there were places around here that made it. We got the Sweetheat. Pineapple was a favorite pizza topping when I was little, but I haven't been as keen on it in many years; however, it worked really well on this pizza. I've never had banana peppers, but the ingredients of this pizza are a great combination. In the Detroit style version it comes with hot honey as well, but we decided to leave it out since honey isn't something I'm especially fond of and we wanted to keep the possible mess to a minimum. I'd be curious to try it sometime with the honey, though I doubt they sell it by the slice... perhaps if I order again I'll ask for the honey only on part of the pizza. We also ordered some appetizers, fried mushrooms and garlic knots. Neither were great. I think I misunderstood and thought the garlic knots had cheese in them. And the mushrooms aren't my thing but they unexpectedly came with a dusting of parmesan cheese, which my partner doesn't like, so we had to pick around that and only about half of it was eaten. Definitely would skip the garlic knots next time and possibly the mushrooms (or at least ask that they leave the garnish off). They delivered, which thrilled me since I didn't want to have to go pick it up, especially now that the time change has occurred and it gets dark at 2pm (I feel like it's time to hibernate once the sun goes down). The estimate I was given was almost two hours, which I was actually fine with since it was a Friday night and it wouldn't surprise me that they'd be busy, but it came within an hour so that was another happy surprise. If you're a pizza connoisseur or just want to try something new, Pizzaboy is worth your time.

Dropped by for some thin crust slices and couldn't have been more surprised by the quality. Nice crunch, saltiness, good chew from the cheese. The thin crust is a must and the only thing I would be returning for. The deep dish I found to be too heavy and you're just eating the bread. Garlic knots had good flavor, but once again, too much bread. Stick with the thin crust and you'll be rewarded with the perfect ratio of crust to topping and a satisfying crunch.

My daughter and I are HUGE fans of Smothered! We had to stop and eat at Pizzaboy when we were visiting Chicago on 3/4/25. The pizza was delicious and the garlic knots were amazing. Carlo came out and said hi. We were speechless and so excited to meet him. The entire experience was so much fun. We were smothered at Pizzaboy.

This place has great pizza, including a super thin crust that is thinner than a tortilla and yet still stands up to the sauce and cheese. It's not listed on their online menu but you can see it on their sit down menu. I had one of their ready slices which was very good they had a pretty decent selection at the front and it included a good variety including a NY style, a pan option, and a Detroit style. There was so much I wanted to try, including the Panzerotti and garlic knots we'll definitely have to come back. There was plenty of street parking when we got there but it seemed to fill up pretty quickly as dinner time rolled by as there are a number of other bars and restaurants in the area. Service was very friendly!

The pizza was good. Typical crispy crust pizza with pretty decent ingredients. I personally didn't enjoy the waffle fries with cheese and marinara sauce. Their version of loaded fries. The wings were actually very good. I highly recommend them. The only thing I can complain about was the price. 2 pies, wings and side order of fries was $90. Not the best pricing but understandable in the location.

Ordered double dough and a thin crust. Not a fan of either. Sparse toppings, couldn't find the pepperoni or mushrooms/onions, even under the cheese on either pizza. Pretty expensive for what you get.

OMG the food here too good for words. Service is top notch, the owners make you feel like family. Ambiance is solid, I would recommend the place as a must stop pizza spot to anyone visiting the city area. read more

We ate at Pizzaboy tonight and were not too impressed. They had the music way too loud and the pizza was veryyy greasy. The wings were pretty good, though! It might not be as loud on a day during the week and not on the weekend. read more

My wife and kids love this place. It's fast easy and the ownership and staff clearly care about this place and the happy customer. I thing the pizza is great here. Flavor at every level but not overpowering in any way. It's classic Chicago thin crust done to as good as it gets. It's a simple yet cleverly decorated place too, right downtown Edison Park. A great place to visit often. read more

We went to Pizzaboy because we are fans of the show Smothered. We were happily surprised to find out the food was amazing. I ordered an Italian beef sandwich. It was better than the big names in downtown Chicago. My husband ordered the meatball sandwich. We also shared one slice of "The Don" Detroit style pizza. It was surprisingly sweet and spicy. He also ordered a couple of cannolis. There were very good too. Highly recommend this restaurant. read more

This place is so cool. Just a plain old pizza place in uptown Park Ridge. But the service is great, they hire a lot of high school kids and teach them how to be mature, responsible and professional. I highly recommend it. Did I mention the food is terrific?!?! read more

The first thing I appreciate is good customer service. I have always had a pleasant experience with all the workers there when picking up our pizzas. They are friendly, courteous and hard working. The restaurant is clean. There is parking available in the surrounding community. Be aware that some of the parking you pay at the box. You can find parking that is free down the blocks. I like everything about their pizza. The tomato sauce is some of the best I have tasted among the different Chicago Pizza Places. My husband had the Italian Beef sandwich. The gravy has a hint of sweetness and the Jardinera(spelled right?) is homemade. My hubby says it is, "delicious." And that is coming from a,"foodie." read more

Made a reservation for my Birthday over the phone to PizzaBoy in Edison Park on Friday evening for Sunday, Party of 15 for 5pm. All started off very well. As the night progressed the owner came in to start work flustered after we were told "from coaching for 5+ hours" at 6:15 to let us know that we had to eat our food and be out of the restaurant by 6:40 because she was hosting a party of 70 at 7pm. Mind you we ordered our food about 6:05 and we didn't have any of it out from the kitchen at this point. I will note that it was never mentioned to me at the time of making the call to make the reservation or at the time we arrived for my special occasion celebration that there were any issues. We couldn't enjoy the food, we weren't able to order dessert if we wanted too ...No time for any celebration, digesting the food or small talk. Oh the waitress did tell me she tried to have us order our food sooner too. I will say this, I will NEVER EVER return to this establishment in the future. We were paying customers as much as the party of 70, but unfortunately we were treated much differently. Hopefully the owners will see this and make note of what took place and for the sake of their business will make some changes in the way they choose to practice business procedures for the future. Driving down Northwest highway hoping to grab an Italian sub at Al's. Didn't realize they have light hours on the weekend.. Closed at 2p? What.. So, decided to try something new. Looking in through the window I noticed a display case with two styles of Za available by the slice. The options didn't sound intriguing (two had Mike's hot honey drizzled on top. I'm a fan but two pies with it is overkill.) But I was hungry. So I grabbed slices of their thin cheese, two specialty Detroit style and some garlic knots. To be honest, their Detroit style was not looking good. Not sure if it was because the slices sat too long under the heat lamps or because the kitchen staff burnt the damn things prior to going into the display. Way too bready. Had an ample crunch but lacking enough tasty sauce. It could be served with a side of sauce. I don't mind carbs so long as the taste is there and the taste is just not. The thin slices were fine but not inducive to cause me to return for a full pie. The best of my entire order was their garlic knots. So good. They are drenched in ample amount of olive oil, with garlic and oh so yum! I could go for a couple right now! I like the look of this pizza joint. It's whimsical & fun. Great for a quick bite after hitting the nearby bars. Many reviews mention not seeing staff wearing masks. You notice this in the kitchen when the door is flung open. I think they get used to being around each other they forget to mask up before hitting the dining room. Detroit style pizza is making big waves in Chicagoland as of late and if they want to compete, they have to up their game. I would like to imagine that if a full Detroit is ordered it may be more worth the stomach space than purchased out of the display. But I am not compelled to repeat. Damn, now I'm wishing I could have a "Sicilian style" (their version of Detroit square thick) at Joanie's of Long Grove. read more

Well...I will start by saying we all like different things. I always want to be fair. This for me was just awful. The jalapeño poppers were good. The calamari may have been good if the breading wasn't so thick. Now the pizza...the pizza. Definitely different. I'm not sure if these folks are from Chicago, or what, but I'm sorry it just wasn't good. Maybe they brought a different concept of pizza from somewhere else, if so, it makes sense why it was so different, if not..well then I'm just not sure. When you walk in they have pizza sold in slices behind the glass. Now you would think that pizza that thick might have a softer texture, but it didn't. It was extremely hard and I think it was because they left it in the oven too long and the texture was already hard, to begin with. I love all kinds of pizza. Thick, thin, but this just wasn't it. It was literally like a giant hard crouton, and it just didn't taste good. The same was for the tomato basil with the balsamic on top. Now the single slice of cheese needed more flavor. It had a watery tomato taste. All in all, it just wasn't for me. The total came out to almost $45 total with tip. Definitely not worth it. The staff were really nice though. I chose this restaurant because I've never been and I wanted to try a little bit of everything. It can also just be what I ordered, I'm not sure I will ever go back, but I'm sure they have other good things on the menu. read more

Totally amazing pizza! You can buy it by the slice or a whole pizza. On a quiet afternoon in early April, we were given a whole education about Detroit, NY and Chicago style pizza by the very kind gentleman at the counter. It was the perfect ending to our Chicago trip. I had the Burrata Ya Mind slice, DELICIOUS and a wonderful crust!!! If you can, definitely stop in and try their pizza and hospitality! read more

I actually really enjoy their pizza, wings, fries, and apps. I was pleasantly surprised trying them out and even more surprised at how good they've been every time after that. Their sauce is delicious and flavorful, they have a ton of toppings to choose from most of which have been good minus their peppers which were yellow and red (Chicago style pizza should stick to green peppers only). Their wings are fire af. I wish they were a little closer to me because I think I've found my new favorite pizza spot. Very very tasty. read more

Don't listen to the sweat hogs in the comments below...they probably think Papa John's is quality pizza. Came from the south side and ordered 2 large pizzas both came piping hot and with fresh ingredients. Detroit style was great reminded me of when I used to work at the plant @ D-ham... would def. order from here again. Oh and try the hot honey it gives the pizza a unique flavor. I give this place 5/5 *parking in that area is nonexistent..... be prepared to walk a few blocks.. unless you wanna be a real G and double park by the bars read more

Edible. Maybe it's better if you dine in. Tried takeout twice. 15 to 20 minute drive to sit down and eat. One time the crust was so soggy that a spatula was needed to pick up all but the crust pieces. The other time the crust was not soggy, it was like thin plywood. Will I try it again? Depends on how drunk I get next door. read more

I will admit that I am not a huge fan of pizza. But, watching the evolution of this place and its owners on TLC made me want to support the business. We stopped-in for an early dinner last weekend and I am a new fan. We got a few slices for the kids and husband and I ordered the arancini and fried zucchini. While the zucchini could have been better, everything else was amazing. So much so that we ordered a full pizza to go and had some delicious gelato while we waited. Staff is friendly and the place is immaculate. What also surprised me was the actual plates and (gold colored) silverware at every table - a nice touch. Edison Park is a rough drive for us where we live in the city, but this is worth the effort when both kids and parents leave satisfied!! read more

The Detroit Style was ok. I make one about as good as there's. I could not taste any toppings and they said 25 to 30 min for pickup. Took an hour and 10 min. The crust was doughy and dense. And for $32, your better off going to Jets Pizza in skokie. It's cheaper and more toppings; the dough isn't so dense and they tell you the right time for pickup. Otherwise, it did taste like a pizza, that was it. This is not to mention that the girl handing out the pickups was taking her mask off going into the kitchen, kids running around without masks and damn near shoulder to shoulder inside for the pickups. read more

I am very satisfied and impressed by the service and food of this place. Went here for the first time the atmosphere was so amazing, everything was top-notch. I'm so happy to have found this place, the staff was also amazing and the food is outstanding! The owner even came around to make sure his customers were satisfied. Great Pizza! Had a little of this and little of that and it was all amazing! Started with Arancini and Calamari which were both great, split the Meatball Salad, which is a big salad and two big meatballs. Followed that up with an Xtra Thin Edison Park which was delish and topped it all off with some Fried Dough!! read more

Food took an hour which would have been ok if my pizza wasn't crazy over done. I ordered a Detroit style and all the pepperoni was burnt and the pizza had shrunk down till it was hard as a Rock. They have a ton of people in the kitchen so I'm guessing they forgot about my pizza even tho I asked about three times. They seem very unorganized. Hopefully they get their stuff together because the place looks promising. read more

It was our first time visiting. I'm from Wa. State. My amazing son, catered to my need to go here. Service was amazing! Everyone that works there is extremely sweet and kind, very friendly. We had Detroit style pizza, garlic bread, French fries, Caesar salad, gelato and this amazing meatball type thing with rice, peas and I cannot remember what else but it was absolutely delicious! I will come back EVERY time I boat. So I will become a regular! Getting to meet Kathy, Cristina and Carlo was the biggest thrill ever! Great food, great people and great atmosphere. Absolutely amazing from start to finish! Instant greeting from the host as soon as we walked in even though she was swamped! This definitely carried over into the service which was very attentive and friendly! Now let's talk food. We tried several things. Pizza, breaded steak, breaded cheese curds and fried dough for dessert and EVERYTHING was delicious! Well worth the 2-1/2 round trip drive. Pizza crust was crispy and done perfectly and the steak was so tender and the homemade giardiniera sent it over the top. Everything is done so fresh and portions are huge. Great bang for your buck! Met the owner Carlo and he was awesome! So friendly. Had a nice chat with him. We will definitely be back! Don't sleep on this one. It will become a favorite! read more

DEFINITELY get the Detroit style pizza! I ordered the Sweet Heat slice with jalapeños, banana peppers, pineapple, and pepperoni which was the perfect amount of flavor, crispiness and heat. I ate it up before I could even think to take a picture to post here. I enjoyed the thin crust too! I would've give them the full 5 stars, but they only had pizza and gelato available tonight when I really wanted to try some of their listed appetizers in their extensive menu too. That being said, I'll definitely be back once their full menu is up & running (or probably before) to give them that last star! read more

Excellent quality, great taste, and the presentation was outstanding. It's obvious when a restaurant uses 'better' ingredients and this place clearly does. From the 'order taker' to the woman who handed me my food when I walked in, I was impressed by their friendliness and warmth. A smile and thank you goes a long way in business. Place is fire. Ingredients are fresh and the attention to detail is unmatched for a pizza joint. Edison Park is lucky to have this spot to add to their choices . We had Detroit style with sausage and Mike's hot honey. Amazing. Also, rocked a thin crust pepperoni that was great too. read more

I found it odd that their Caesar comes with tomatoes, but it must be a Chicago thing because I saw that on the menu of another pizzeria that we visited while in town. The salad was delicious and we enjoyed every bite of it. We also ordered a small pepperoni pie (deep dish) and were surprised at just how small it was. It was almost like a personal size...but let me tell you, the personal size is tiny! One slice of the small pie nearly took up the space of the entire personal sized pie that we took home with us. While in-store, I signed up for their rewards program and got a coupon for a free personal sized pie, with some stipulations. It was to-go only and you had to spend at least $10, but our dine-in order could not count towards that total. It had to be processed as a separate transaction. That was no problem for us since we were headed back to our hotel and had a full kitchen there, we decided to order wings along with our free baby-sized pie to-go. The wings were phenomenal. Top tier. A+. Highly recommend! I actually preferred the sausage pie that we took home over the pepperoni pie, and that's not usually my vibe. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience due to the consistently poor service I received. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that customer care was not a priority. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive. I waited far too long just to be acknowledged, and even then, I was met with an unfriendly attitude. My questions were met with vague answers or dismissiveness, and there was no effort to offer any real help or courtesy. What was most frustrating was the lack of accountability--no apologies for the delays or confusion, and certainly no effort to make the experience better. It felt like I was an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. It's disappointing when a business doesn't take pride in providing even the basics of good service. Holy cow their garlic knots are out of this world! I've been a huge fan of their pizza since they opened - best thin crust and also like the specialty Detroit style slices like the BBQ chicken. We recently tried their garlic knots and they are to die for. Dough is made from scratch - chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The sauce reminds me of the garlic rolls at Bob Chin's but way better - nice blend of seasonings and garlic. Super friendly staff too! read more
