Pepperoni slice

DECEMBER 2025 - CASH ONLY Everything about grabbing a slice at Pizza Wagon today was a pain in the azz. Parking in Brooklyn, if you're lucky you'll find a spot a few blocks away. I find a parking spot around the corner, not too bad. Once inside, I walk into a small pizzeria. I tell the counter guy a corner square and a small coke. He shows me 3 sicilian slices and they're the middle slices. C'Mon brah. It's lunchtime, you don't have any more Sicilian pizzas in the oven? I ask for a slice of pepperoni. Do you take Applepay? No, cash only. The ATM is next door. I grab a $20 from the dial up ATM and I'm charged $3 bucks for a service fee. I'm getting cranky now.. I get my slice, it was a nice thin crust. Good? It was just an average slice of pizza. I wanted a square slice. But guess what? To come here, try to find parking only to find out there's 3 cold middle slices? It's really not worth the hassle to jump thru hoops. Pizza Wagon? 3 stars today, I'm out.

Cheese Pizza from Pizza Wagon.

Before I begin let me start out by saying that after living in Bay Ridge for as long as I have and not having a Yelp about one of the most time-honored pizzerias in the region is surprising to me. In my defense, while I do still live in the neighborhood, I am not right near Pizza Wagon anymore while for a few years I essentially lived right up the block from them. That being said, some colleagues from a recent work assignment were in Bay Ridge and since I was not working that day I suggested that we all meet at the Pizza Wagon during their lunch break. I have not been here for pizza in awhile so this was an idea I hope that they rallied behind. It was just past the usual lunchtime but since it was a weekend and the shopping is no longer what it used to be on 86th Street we were able to get a table quickly and order our respective items. Each of us seemed to be set on getting one plain cheese and one Sicilian slice and the round slices came out first while the counter staff were waiting on a Square pie to come out of the over. I will admit that I loved the idea of getting my square that fresh only seconds after it was being cooked. A small Root beer complimented my order and it was all delicious which was expected. My colleagues also enjoyed it and were happy about the suggestion. Mission accomplished. I should point out that Pizza Wagon is a cash only business which might not appeal to those looking to do as much cashless things as possible and only use their mobiles for purchases. I am not sure if there was a Wi-Fi to use but I think there was one. I was more interested in talking with the colleagues and sharing stories than doom scrolling while I ate. Was happy that this was a proper experience and I don't think I will wait as long to go back there again.

Solid late night pizza. The service was good he helped us and got us out super fast. The indoor is closed at night which is ok but can be chilly or rainy. The inside does look rather spacious and cozy. I get pepperoni and cheese and both were very good.

Ricotta meat ball spinach

We ordered a large round regular pie with ricotta, meatball, and spinach. The delivery driver brought it to the wrong address, so by the time it finally reached us, it was lukewarm instead of hot. I also expected fresh spinach, but it turned out to be frozen and had a strong frozen smell. Overall, we were very disappointed with the order, especially considering it cost $36. Next time - we'll get it without the spinach and ask for peppers instead or maybe omit the veggies altogether.

They serve a fantastic Sicilian slice. Really wonderful, old school pizzeria. The staff is very friendly.

I recently returned to Pizza Wagon after years and it stood up to the memories! The pizza is good and I love the walk-up window and the fact that they have outdoor tables for a quick grab and go slice, but the fact that it's cash only is frustrating. Service was good.

It's average. I don't think it's any better or worse than other pizzeria I've been to. Ordered a large pie with half mushroom and half pepperoni. It was ok/acceptable. Didn't think it was anything special compared to other pizzeria. Not worth a special trek for. Place is quite small but there's some seating, maybe about 6 (four ppl) tables. There's also some standing tables outside. There's no bathroom available so can't even wash your hands before u dig into your pizza. No garlic knots available either.

Great tasting pizza

While in the Bayridge area, after an hour of walking in the Dyker Heights area and taking in all the beautiful homes decorated for the holidays & viewing all the Christmas lights; we stopped by Pizza Wagon to fill our bellies. It's a local spot with vintage vibes and spot on pizza. While we watched the staff prepare the dough, mix in the sauce, cheese and other toppings there was no doubt the pizza would be delicious. We tried the classic slice, and grabbed a hard to come by table in this small spot. The piping hot pizza warmed my heart and belly as I took my first few few bites. The sauce was just perfect and that's truly hard to come by in a city full of pizza joints with a crunchy crust too. The cheese was great and not too stringy. After devouring my first slice I decided to get a second slice with mushrooms and it was just as tasty. This will be my go to spot for filling my belly when I'm back in the area. The staff are super friendly and accommodating too.

This place doesn't get talked about nearly enough. Amazing people, but even better pizza. Walking in feels like stepping back into the '80s, reminds me of going out for pizza with my dad every Saturday. It's incredibly nostalgic for me, and the pizza absolutely lives up to the feeling. Pure, classic New York pizza honestly, it doesn't get better than this

Plain slice, White slice, Square (Sicilian)
Matthew S.

Perhaps it is because I have not had pizza in quite some time, but a new contender has emerged for me as having one of the best pizza slices in New York City, definitely in Brooklyn. It also happens to be in a neighborhood that once thrived with pizzerias, now being overtaken by the influx of a new demographic. The interior of this pizza shop is beyond retro, with counters inside and for outside customers. The sliding red chairs, the formica tables, the smell of the pizza cooking in the oven, it just feels like a Brooklyn pizza shop. When I think of a New York pizza shop, this is what I think of. Best of all, it is only a five minute walk from the 86th street station on the R train. For lack of a better word, the pizza here rocks. It is simple, but perfect in every way. From the moment the pizza comes out of the oven, to the very last bite, each bite tastes exactly the same, and it is the consistency of this slice is what makes it so perfect. To prove their worth however, I had to get two other slices, a white slice, and a Sicilian square. As mentioned, the plain triangle slice is perfect in every way. Just the right amount of crisp to chew, the thin crust pulls but does not lose its integrity whatsoever. The slice never flops, and stays hot for a good while after it leaves the oven, gradually cooling, but still retaining its flavor. The cheese to sauce ratio is spot on. It is a clean slice, not too salty, but just a little bit to where you can taste it, and with little fuss. I could eat this slice for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or late night and I trust I am getting the same slice every time. The white slice is almost as perfect as the plain. Perfectly dolloped globs of ricotta, mixed in with just the right amount of garlic, and that perfect thin crust. Too many times pizzerias get cute on a white slice, but this one restrains itself nicely and as a result, is still a perfect slice. Lastly, I had to go for the trifecta and get a Sicilian square. The perfect Sicilian square should have a fluffy top, yet a crunchy undercarriage to it, not too messy, and you should be able to eat this with your hands and not a fork and knife. It checks every box, with flying colors. Super fluffy, crispy underside, and the sauce and cheese are solid. The sauce has a bit of a sweetness and slight richness, but it passes quickly, and before you know it, you just finished that square. I did not ask, but always, always get a corner square. Corners are the best, and though I did not get a forger this time, I will be sure to get one next time. For $3 a slice, this is absolutely a steal. They also prepare whole pies and calzones and charge a little extra for toppings, but that pretty much sums up the menu. They really just do pizza and calzones, much like Luigi's in Park Slope, who also makes a dynamo pizza slice in Brooklyn that highly I recommend you try. The only negative is that it is a cash only business. That is fine with me, if that is the only negative for this old school pizzeria. It is a small price to pay for such an underrated, but outstanding pizza slice.

The pizza was good, but it was nothing special really. The price was definitely right, though at like $2.50 a slice hard to beat that!

L'Industrie Pizzeria is a highly celebrated, contemporary slice shop located in the Williamsburg…read moreneighborhood of Brooklyn. Founded in 2017 by Massimo Laveglia, a native of Pistoia in Tuscany, it successfully bridges the gap between classic New York City slice shop culture and traditional Italian artisan craftsmanship. The pizzeria has transitioned from a neighborhood hidden gem into a massive viral sensation, earning the prestigious title of Pizza Today's 2026 Pizzeria of the Year. They open at 12:00, and in anticipation of a long line like we witnessed on our pizza day #1, we showed up at 11:15, and no one was there. (The workers were bustling inside, but no customers lining up yet.) We walked around the neighborhood, which was quiet with gorgeous weather - sunny, 60's, and breezy, - with Spanish banter between neighbors, and a few leaves blowing around. We got back at 11:30 and there were three people in line, then us, and 15 minutes later, it was around the block. The doors open, you order, pay, and wait for your name to be called. Then you go to pizza heaven. This was some of the best pizza we ever had! (It is right up there with Uncle Rico's Pizza in Fort Myers, who always comes in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd at the national competition.) We got four slices - New Yorker - A bold, meaty combination of savory pepperoni and spicy sausage, balanced by the creamy richness of ricotta and the tangy sweetness of the tomato sauce. The crisp, lightly charred crust provides a satisfying crunch beneath the generous, gooey layer of cheese and toppings. L'Industrie - The salty, delicate prosciutto di Parma contrasts beautifully with the cool, buttery creaminess of the burrata, creating a rich yet refined balance of flavors. The thin, crisp crust provides a delicate crunch that offsets the silky cheese and tender, almost melt-in-your-mouth prosciutto. Pork Pepperoni - A classic, deeply savory slice with rich tomato sauce, melted mozzarella, and pepperoni delivering a concentrated pork flavor with a pleasantly salty, spiced finish. The pepperoni adds a slightly crisp, oily bite against the stretchy cheese and thin, crisp-bottomed crust. Spicy Salami - The soppressata brings a robust, peppery heat and a rich, cured-meat savoriness, while the mozzarella softens the spice and the Parmigiano adds a sharp, nutty depth. Fresh basil lends an aromatic lift, contrasting with the crisp crust and the slightly chewy, oily salami. For the pizza geeks - L'Industrie first cold ferments the dough for 72 hours. Instead of using a single commercial flour, they blend seven to eight different flours. This hybrid mix combines premium Italian imported Caputo "00" flour for tenderness and extensibility, mixed with high-protein American bread flour (like King Arthur) and local whole wheat flours for texture, strength, and flavor depth. They use live wild yeast for a complex, slightly nutty flavor profile and visual micro-blistering that you don't get from standard commercial yeast. After a long, cold cure in the refrigerator, the dough is brought to room temperature, and shaped carefully by hand. In pure Italian fashion, the sauce is incredibly simple and completely uncooked before hitting the pie. It is made strictly from Bianco DiNapoli Whole Peeled Tomatoes. These organic California-grown heritage tomatoes are highly prized by top chefs for their natural sweetness and low acidity. There is just a bit of sea salt to brighten the tomato flavor. L'Industrie does not use dried oregano, garlic powder, black pepper, sugar, or heavy spices in their base sauce. They allow the natural, bright sweetness of the crushed tomato to cut through the rich fats of the cheese and toppings. The shop relies on restraint and high-caliber, locally sourced or imported ingredients. They utilize high-quality, low-moisture mozzarella shredded in-house, but they apply it with extreme restraint. This prevents the slice from becoming greasy or weighed down, maintaining a pristine ratio of dough, sauce, and cheese.

L'Industrie is hands down the BEST NY pizza I've ever had! 100/10--an absolute must-visit!…read more We tried the New Yorker, Burrata, and Fig Jam & Bacon, and every slice was phenomenal. The crust, sauce, and quality toppings were on point, but the real game-changer was their house chili oil. Drizzle it over your pizza and prepare to be blown away! We relished every bite and paired our slices with beer. I loved the chili oil so much that I even bought a bottle for $2 to take home! Service is quick, and slices come out fast. The vibe is classic NYC pizza: casual, grab-and-go, with plenty of indoor space and a covered outdoor area to hang out with friends. Do yourself a favor and get the chili oil on your pizza. This place is worth every bit of the hype!

By that point, we had already watched other tables receive their food, including people who had arrived well after us. We continued waiting, and after roughly 40 minutes or more, our food still had not arrived. At that point, the dining experience was already ruined and we decided to leave. Ironically, just as we were getting ready to go, the food finally started coming out. I told them we no longer wanted it. The waiter did apologize again and offered us a pizza to take with us, which I assume was complimentary, but by then we were simply ready to leave. Even paying the bill became unnecessarily drawn out. We were charged the full amount for the salad, beer, and wine. I sat with a $50 bill ready to pay, was handed the check, and then ended up standing around for another five minutes waiting for someone to actually take the money. There was no apology from the person handling the payment. I understand that mistakes happen, and I appreciated that our waiter admitted he had forgotten to place the order. But when a restaurant makes that kind of mistake, the recovery matters. After waiting that long, watching later-arriving customers get served, and then having difficulty simply paying and leaving, an apology and a pizza at the very end didn't really fix the experience. Unfortunately, based on this visit, I can't say the service lived up to the restaurant's reputation.
