First time trying this little pizza spot in Quioccasin Station. There's only one table that I could see, but there is some seating outside, I believe. There's also a cute play area for kids in the courtyard in front of the store, which is managed by the strip mall company. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak wrap with fries, and the combo meal came with a drink (the beverages are bottled in a case, not fountain drinks). My meal took about 12-15 minutes, and was piping hot! The fries were great. I received a Philly cheese chicken wrap instead of what I ordered, but I only had a few More Minutes for lunch, so I didn't bother sending it back. It was just okay... it was very "wet" and the wrap didn't hold the ingredients well so they dripped out everywhere and it was pretty messy, but the taste itself was satisfactory. The portion was hefty and I couldn't even finish the meal. I think next time I'll try the good ole sub bread instead. The prices here are average and I'd like to come back and try the pizza. The person who helped with my order suggested I call ahead so that next time I'd have more time for lunch! They also do take out so I might grab dinner here as well. I've been doing my best to ward off the intense craving for Pizza Express since my visit. It's a good 12 minutes away, and I hate driving, so that has helped, but ugh - I'm still dreaming of their cheesesteak, Italian hoagie, and cheese pizza: aka, the trifecta of my favorite pizza-place foods. I'd dare say that the cheesesteak is one of the best in/around the city. I was the passenger in the car, and I couldn't resist immediately opening the packaging and going to town. It was half gone as we pulled into my building's garage. Seriously: deeeelicious. The first time I tried this place I thought it was amazing. Then again, I may have been day drinking before ordering pizza that night.... With that said, I tried this place again and felt it was just mediocre. The pizza isn't bad but it didn't blow us away either. I love love LOVE everything about this place, especially the wings. Their wings are fat and juicy, and full of flavor. Definitely try them with the sweet red chili sauce, it is amazinggg! The sizes for their pizzas seem bigger than other pizza places. We ordered a medium the first time and it looked like we got a large. I love that they don't skimp on the toppings and all of it is fresh. The only thing I'd change is to ask them to go light on the cheese. This is the only place from which DH will order a pizza, a real NY style pizza he says. They make the crust just like he likes it. We probably order (pick-up) from them 2x a month, usually on a Sunday when no one feels like cooking. Tastes pretty good the next morning if you are eating a leftover slice for breakfast too. read more

Went here tonight based on an recommendation from an associate! They raged about their pizza but beings I had Belmont Pizza last night I decided to try some pasta! So I called the orders in and Sherri answered the phone and was super nice! I arrived within in the quoted timeframe and my order was ready! We ordered two cheesesteak combos (sub, fries and bottled soda)and two lasagna dinners (huge portion of lasagna, side salad and hot bread)! Couldn't catch the pics fast enough but when I say plenty of food for your money! The lasagna was tasty and the salad super fresh oh and warm homemade bread! Still in quarantine... still a fan of Pizza Express! Hot diggity dog is this pizza good. The sauce is still the best in the city. The cheese is gooey. The crust is chewy. It is the perfect pizza, in my eyes. Everything we've had has been stellar. I've tried NY style crust, cauliflower crust, and sicilian crust. All great. The toppings are wonderful, and we've also enjoyed a couple of their other offerings like desserts and boneless wings. Cannot go wrong with pizza express! An ad in a local flyer brought my fiancee and I to Pizza Express recently. It's rare that I agree with both the negative and positive reviews of a place on Yelp, but Pizza Express is both delicious and disappointing at the same time. (Explanation shortly!) --Food: We ordered our staple pizza: Medium Half Cheese, Half Pepperoni. We ate it there as we normally do, and at first we were very impressed. The sauce is seasoned well unlike some of the blandness of local competition. The pizza has a very nice taste to it as a whole. The crust is nice and firm and has a nice crispness to it. At first. Here comes the disappointing part. In the middle of the second piece, the ingredients and overall grease sets in hard. What was once a crisp piece of pizza is now a soggy piece of dough struggling to hold up its ingredients. I see exactly why people mention that their delivery pizza is greasy and soggy. Now, as odd as it sounds, it doesn't make it a terrible pizza. It still has a nice taste overall, and honestly, it doesn't taste greasy (despite it becoming a soppy mess). On a side note, they have a huge menu with other Italian things like Pasta and Sandwiches. some of them looked pretty good, so it's not out of the question to try these in the future. --Cost: A medium with one topping was about $11. About even with local competitors. --Atmosphere: There is one table outside and a couple seats inside. The inside seats appear to be more used for waiting and not dining in. This actually raises a real problem since I don't think I would want to wait 10 minutes to eat the pizza as I fear it might become too soft to eat then. Delivery would add an extra 10 minutes probably. It's not that it's not a nice atmosphere, it's just not ideal for eating a pizza that doesn't do well with time passing. --Service: The staff were all pleasant and seemed to enjoy working there. No problems here. They did provide napkins and plates when we said we were eating it there. --Overall: I'm really torn on my opinion here. If I were to rate my experience based solely on the first slice, I'd easily give it a 4 or 5. However, based on the last two slices (and the last one specifically), it starts to become difficult to eat and enjoy. I think the overall experience is greatly hindered by this. I'm not saying I wouldn't eat here again, as I probably would. It's just an unfortunate situation of a good tasting pizza that doesn't hold up well. read more

This food is wow- incredibly bad . I ordered a veritable buffet , and the only palatable item was the side salad that came with the watery pasta Alfredo . The baked ziti was flavorless , ditto for the meatballs . The pasta sauce is bitter and there was a chemical taste to the food. The chicken philly , pictured below , was minced and watery, and the bread was cold and hard . The portions were generous for the pasta , skimpy for they sub . I have been ordering from them for over 7 years, and not until last month did I actually walk into their restaurant. WOWOWOWOW, this place is CLEEEAN!! I am a Chef, and have been in food service for over 25 years and have seen my share of kitchens... this place is IMMACULATE!! The staff and owners are amazing, friendly, kind, and always so accommodating.but wait, there's more!! THE FOOD!! Pizza Express is a victim of geography. We have ordered from them many times over the years. This time was the first time in at least two years because the last time it took over 90 minutes for a delivery. Bottom line about this order: they delivered what I ordered, and it tasted good - as in "eat one slice fast because the second will be room temp.". And it was soggy in the center, despite me clicking the"well done" option. So it was lukewarm, despite the fact that it was delivered within the one hour window the website promised. I have to assume I was one of many deliveries for the driver or it sat at the kitchen awaiting a driver. Either way they need to reduce their delivery footprint or hire more drivers, I detest the major national chains so every once in a while I give in and assume the local folks can do good things.. But unless you are near enough to Pizza Express to pick it up yourself, don't get your hopes up. read more

I'm in love with New York style pizza, and I fell for this place today. I got the regular pepperoni pizza, because who doesn't love a classic? I could smell the pizza the whole way home, and even though it was only a ten minute drive, the smell made it seem like forever. I was wishing for an automatic transmission so that I would have a hand free to start eating it before I got home. Upon getting home, I got inside as quickly as possible to consume my prize. I opened the box and gazed upon the wonders of this creation. The pepperoni was shining with the perfect amount of grease. There was just enough to have that great taste but not so much as to be messy, or to cause heartburn or upset stomach. The cheese almost appeared to shimmer with flavors, hinting at a promise of deliciousness that, much to my delight, would be realized with great haste. The crust, oh joy of joys, the crust, had the perfect amount of bubbles and charred goodness. I picked up my first slice, which was nicely and evenly cut, without having to struggle to pull it away without dragging all of the cheese off of the remaining slices. The dough sagged just enough to require two hands, and all of the flavors came together perfectly in the first bite. My wife came home and then my life was completed. My daughter ate her first slice almost as fast as I did. It was amazing. This was a really good pizza. It definitely was better hot than cooled, but even after some time it still tasted good. The dough had a really nice level of burn to it, and the cheese melted in my mouth. The price was right too, about average for the area. My extra large was about $16 which was not bad. It also was ready pretty quickly, which was nice because it wasn't as far away as I originally thought it was. Overall I would definitely recommend this place, and they have definitely gained a new, loyal customer. read more

In addition to pizza, they have a lot of other Italian specialties, subs, calzone, burgers, salads, and great appetizers; like mac and cheese bites, pierogies, zucchini sticks. My wife, two kids age 7 and 4 and I went there as a family. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza and three bottled drinks to share. They had cups and plates for us to use. Everyone really enjoyed the New York style pizza. We got the bottled drinks as they do not have a soda fountain. The price was under $20 for what we got. The seating is limited but they had a table that fit the four of us. We definitely plan to go back in the near future as the food and casual atmosphere was very nice. read more

My top 5 pizza place in the RVA! I ordered the veggie pizza with garlic knots. The pizza was delicious! Not too saucy and not too much cheese. Cooked well and had loads of toppings. I also substituted broccoli with jalapenos. We had some leftovers and had some the next day and it still tastes good after warming it in a toaster oven. Garlic knots not so much. They were a bit hard and took a bit longer to get soft. I have started to make pizza at home, but when I am not in the mood to make it I would def. go here as my option for pizza in the RVA! They also have other items on their menu and it's just not pizza. Looking forward to having other items! My Husband picked up the pizza and said he had no issue with picking up. This review is for 2pm on a weekday, so it may not be typical. It's also coming off a trip from New York city where I averaged 5 slices a day.. because New York pizza. I ordered two slices of cheese, and this is the closest result to "two regulars" I've found in Richmond. The sauce doesn't "pop" as much, but everything else was fantastic. Crisp, chewy crust, adequate fresh tasting cheese, saucy, but not too saucy.. enough grease to transfer flavor but not drip down your hand. Service was fast, friendly, but professional. read more
