    Large Cheese Pizza
    Grace M.

Hot and fresh! The pizza was cheesy and delicious. The service was fast even during the lunch hour. I will definitely be coming back to try more.

Buffalo chicken slice and veggie slice

Was not a fan of the chicken on the pizza as it had a weird texture and the veggie pizza was really just bell peppers and onions which on its own wasn't very appetizing.

THIS PIZZA IS AMAZING. Why the f did it take me over a year to stop in? A taste of home!

I don't think I've declared any pizza the "best NY-style in Richmond" just yet. But if I did, ignore the sentiment, because this spot is the real deal. The pizza here is perfectly crisp, not too thick but not flimsy either, with only a small bit of grease. It's better than boardwalk pizza. And, frankly, if I still lived in South Jersey surrounded by outstanding pizza joints, Jo-Jo's would still have a place in my rotation. Get the pepperoni. Or the plain. Or any of them. I've yet to try a substandard slice. I also tried a cheesesteak hoagie here the other day, but was brought back to the South when I ordered it as such and the response was, "You mean a steak and cheese sub?" It was on the smaller side but the bread was delicious and the steak was perfectly prepared. I'd order it again for sure but honestly will never call it a steak and cheese. Too much change for this girl. My only 'complaint' would be this: Their hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. At no point will I want pizza at 9 in the morning. But walking home from work at 5? I'd totally stop in if I could. If they could adjust their hours to 11 to 7, or even 10 to 6, they could catch some of the dinner crowd, too. But, as it stands, I'll continue to walk over during my lunch hour for a delectable slice of quality pie or a savory sandwich.

    Meat lovers Pizza, small, 12"
    Ron R.

Wow, just wow! Had their meat lovers pizza and it was really good. Was a medium style crust, not pan or thin. Toppings and sauce were really flavorful and tasted great. There is a decent amount of crust, but not too much. If u like crust, then there is enough to enjoy and if u don't it's not too much to ruin the pizza. I wanted to scarf the whole small pizza, but saved two servings for later. The restaurant is small with not too much seating and the area is a business spot. The small, 12" meat lovers cost $16.49 and about $18+ change with tax on this visit. This price is actually cheaper than the local place we go to back home, but back home is even better, bigger, and pan crust. So for the area and all things considered, the price is about right even though it is a lot. Further, most of the major chain pizza places in the area are not close and are rated around 2 stars due to poor service and cleanliness. So Jo Jo's is a good deal if u r downtown. There is some homelessness in the area but not near the restaurant on my visit. Ordered take out and it was ready when I got there 30 min after ordering, was quoted 20 min--think they prob got it done in about 20. The register guy (same guy who took the phone order?) is a gruff east coast style guy (might have had a NYC or similar accent), but he was friendly in that east coast style. If ever in the area again would want to try their calzones and Stromboli's. On this visit, the downtown location was not taking internet orders (only the south location was, hence my phone order). Definitely recommend this place and will return if in the area again.

I don't know where you got the impression this guy I like sports?

KC has long since dumped him and rejoined the Sunshine Band, but Jo-Jo is still going strong, and these are the times he's selling pizza. If it's Richmond's best, then like DC, Richmond Pizza doesn't doo much for me, but it wasn't awful. I'd say it was okay, ish. My travel buddy girl thought it was yum but she likes all pizza. The service was nice. The guy working here is super friendly and has covered his store in all kinds of New York pictures, and I appreciate that, yo. Give it a try if you love pizza and see if you're more into it than I was.

    Tomato garlic & broccoli

((((((((( TWO PEPPERONI TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!)))))) the sonic boom hits you. It's not the sound barrier breaking it's just the order being called out. It's quiet now. You place your order and scoot your butt down the line to the cash register. Cash is always welcome and my preferred method of payment at Jo-Jo's "Famous" Pizza. The crust is thin, the selection is plentiful, and the flavor is dead on. They say it's the closest to New York style pizza in all of Richmond. I've been to New York but I didn't get the chance to try what a real pie should taste like. So, I'll just have to take your word for it. I'm a sucker for the tomato garlic and the broccoli. I always say I'm going to try the sausage but when it comes time to order I blurt out "tomato garlic!" and scoot my butt down the line. What's left to say? They offer affordable great tasting pizza and there is always a line during lunch. In 2008 my lunch crew used to walk all the way from 3rd and Franklin just for a slice. When old colleagues hear that I work next to this place they ask if we can meet for lunch. Jo-Jo's has quite the following. I'm definitely a fan.

Steak and Cheese combo! Really good and there is an adequate amount of steak, lettuce hides it here.

Hector is the coolest, hands down--great energy, great personality, the kind of person who makes you want to come back. Oh and did I mention you can get pizza by the slice! The variety is mind blowing and they always have vegan options!!!!! I'm a thin-slice person. I need the right ratio of crust to sauce to toppings, and Zorch nails it every time. Plus, no flop! The cheese slice is a classic and was my favorite... until I discovered The Upside Down. Listen, when I bite into that slice, I literally close my eyes. I see a lot of people say it's greasy. For this one, grease me down baby. The flavor does everything it needs to do. Layered, bold, and honestly addictive. After that slice, I don't even want a regular one anymore. Next up on my list: The Grandma. And for context, I've had Angelo's in Philly. Respectfully? It doesn't compare. Sorry to all the other grandmothers out there lol. One note though-it's heavy on the garlic, so if that's not your thing, you might want to pivot. If it is your thing? Strap in. It's been a few years since I've been able to say I found a legit pizza spot in RVA. A spot that I bring others to often! I'm happy to say I've found my pizza home. Much love to the Zorch crew. See y'all soon!

While I did consider other options, the comparison of a margherita slice and a grandma slice appealed to me. Both were delicious but distinctively different. The crust is quite thin and floppy on both. I did not get the vegan grandma slice but this was available for those in need. They had a range of beverage options and given the heat I might have been well served by getting a seltzer, which I didn't simply because I didn't notice it there initially. There is a larger pizza shop which has more appetizers and salads and things, which I am convinced is worth trying.

Food - the pepperoni pizza was the best we've had in richmond so far! The red sauce tasted more like a pasta sauce than a pizza sauce - which I loved! The pepperonis were also larger and thinner than the traditional size so they were perfectly crispy. We also ordered the Breakfast Pizza with sausage. The flavor profile was more mild but still surprisingly good. We added red pepper flakes to this one when we got home.

When I made my reservations on the open table app I asked to be seated in the restaurant side and not the bar side. When the host came over to seat us, she seated us in the bar area.
