Went here with family on a cold day and enjoyed the food and service but would like to come back on a nice day to eat outside and order something besides the margarita. I'm a sucker for fresh mozzarella and while theirs was decent I thought the crust was too soft and the sauce a little bland. I really liked the pizza my son got - the spicy goat. It was delicious! My husband got the diavola which was good but not as good as the goat. Service - YES. Food - YES. Drinks - YES!!! I cannot believe it took me so long to come here, but I will not wait nearly as long to come back. The list of specialty pizzas is huge, and you can order any of them on gluten free crust. I am also a ranch dipper with pizza, and their house made ranch is to die for. Been here a few times actually so very surprised to see I haven't written a review. Some of the best tasting pizza in Richmond and honestly probably the best pizza dough in the area as well. Last time we were there, we ordered the carne asada fries the fig and pig pizza and a beet and burrata salad. The carne asada fries are awesome and the fig and pig pizza has always been my favorite pizza since the first time I came here. I didn't like the salad much though to be honest. I love beets and burrata but the pesto as a dressing just wasn't my favorite. The salad was a little bland and dry. Came here recently with a friend as a prelude to our evening a while back and it was absolutely outstanding. Amazing pizzas, and without question the best mozzarella sticks I have ever had in my life. I would drive here just to eat those sticks again, and I cannot recommend them enough. The Spicy Goat and the Fig & Pig merit their own praise too, I love uncommon flavor pairings and these both worked incredibly well. I did not drink on this occasion, yet they have a fully-stocked bar with some solid options there. The service was good and attentive, though we came at a fairly empty time (only about five other guests there at the time). Prices were what you might expect, though honestly I felt they were worth it. I would absolutely recommend this place as a date night spot, it seemed very geared toward that kind of ambiance. Being close to Carytown, parking is a little touch and go here, though that's really the only downside I can think of here. Well worth coming here and I hope you do! A coworker told me about this pizza place and said it was her favorite. My husband loves pizza! I chose the fig and pig but honestly had a hard time deciding which one I would get. Came here for lunch one weekend and was pretty impressed! It's a very casual neighborhood pizza spot (that also offers different pastas, sandwiches, and tacos) with really creative and diverse flavors and toppings. We ordered the toasted nacho ravioli to start because it sounded unique - it was a good choice, as the ravioli was crispy with flavorful breading on the outside and creamy, tangy nacho cheese with a slight kick stuffed inside. Dipped in marinara sauce, these were addicting! For pizza, we got the Bianca with Potatoes and Rosemary (creamy, satisfying, unique, tasty) and the Drunk Grandma but replaced the mozzarella with ricotta (vodka sauce was so good, replacing with ricotta was a good idea because it was so creamy and smooth). I checked out fire and hops one evening when I was craving pizza. It was my first visit, and when I walked in the first thing I noticed was the pizza oven that faces the entrance. It was pretty cool to see. I was dining solo so I sat at the bar. There are both low top and high top tables as well as seating directly at the bar. The bartender was super friendly and made the delicious suggestion of a pizza that they are running a special on. It was pepperoni with pesto and a drizzle of hot honey. Absolutely delicious! I also ordered a glass of sangria. That was pretty tasty. I can't wait to go back and check out some of their other menu items. read more

The pizza is cooked what I think is Napoli style. I like a crispier crust, but how they cook it their way is perfect. It's their style and I love that. We went for dinner on a Saturday evening and got seated right away on high tops in the bar area. It happened to be like 5 minutes before happy hour ended so we were hopeful we'd get our first round of beers before cutoff time but if not, no big deal. Anyway, the bartender came out shortly after we sat and took our beer orders. They do have a decent selection which I would expect since hops is part of their name. He came out and brought our beers and took our order. We stuck with just ordering on individual pizza to start. We got the Diavolo, which came out promptly. It was pretty delicious and we ended up sticking with just one pizza. We enjoyed the ambiance inside but with that brick oven in there, it was pretty hot inside. They gotta kick up that AC in the summer. Beyond that, we did enjoy our time there and service was great. We will be back! Fire & Hops Pizza is a quaint little spot that its own very small parking area. That's a plus for any shop in the city. The pizza was very good. I had the Fig & Pig and my daughter had a more traditional pizza. We both enjoyed our choices. The 10" personal pizza is enough for two if you share a side or a starter. Came here last night for pre race dinner and drinks for the marathon, was so glad that we did! We sat at the bar, the bartender (I think his name was Chris) had a full bar AND all the two tops in the bar area and he was holding it down! We never had to wait for service. He was great! We started with the mozz sticks, they're huge! I almost ordered less food because they were so big, but they were good. I got the fire and hops tortellini with a house salad, my partner thankfully stopped me before I ate my whole plate and regretted it. I couldn't stop eating because it was so damn good! That pink sauce is something else. My partner had the rigatoni dish and he said it was also pretty good. Some of my favorite dishes so far have been: * Diavola and Spicy Goat Pizzas (they'll also sub meat out for mushrooms!) * Custom Pizza--favorite topping to add is the Calabrian Chilies! * Rigatoni al la Vodka * Fried Ravioli and Mozzarella Stick Apps--forewarning the Mozz sticks are GIANT. *Also don't sleep on their Ranch, it's really good! It's a nice, cozy atmosphere, with friendly staff and an awesome dog-friendly patio. I tend to also utilize their online ordering for takeout as well, which is super easy to order and pre-pay. Wow. I've heard about Fire & Hops Pizza for a while now, but hadn't indulged until recently when I had an Uber Eats promo. I ordered the Sicilian hoagie and a cheese pizza with pepperoni for delivery. It took the driver a bit of time to reach me after it was ready (she made another stop along the way), so I did need to nuke the pizza briefly, but it didn't take away from the flavor. Both the pizza and the hoagie were fantastic. The hoagie wasn't anything you'd typically expect. They make their own bread for the sandwiches, and it was similar to pizza dough. The hoagie was hot, which usually bugs me, but it worked for theirs. All high quality ingredients were used. They made such an impression with their delivery that I visited in person about a week later. They're right near Cary Street in Carytown, but parking midday wasn't too terrible. I parked about a block away and walked up. They do have a small lot, but it's currently blocked off and they have a nice size patio space. We sat outside under an umbrella, which was perfect, though the inside looked very nice too. I ordered a cider and mozzarella sticks to start. Both were great. For my meal, I chose the lunch special, which is a slightly smaller personal pizza with a heaping portion of mixed greens. I changed my dressing to ranch, which was a good choice too. The lunch special includes two toppings, so I selected ricotta and pepperoni, but in the future I'll definitely just stick to pepperoni. I love ricotta too, but their pepperoni shines on its own. Ok the food and atmosphere are a five. Raisa our server was a luke warm 3. We actually had to have another employee to get her attention for us. This was after we were the only ones inside..... lots of folks are outside. She was nice enough but "poofed"" for quite a long time. Back to the restaurant. Loved it - cozy, lots of dark wood with interesting architecture. The food was amazing. We shared the fig and pig as well as the bacon, grilled cheese with honey. It was sooooooo goood.
