Last two slices of our marinara pizza
    Yierou M.

Curry pizza!!!! Must try! Fresh ingredients and friendly service. One price for unlimited toppings on 10" crust. I ordered 2 pizzas, one with marinara and the other half curry half pesto white sauce mix. Both were delicious but the curry half pizza stole the show for sure. I ordered that half for me thinking no one else would want curry pizza. I was wrong. They took a bite of mine and ended up taking their own slice. Definitely will come back when visiting our son at VCU.

Curry and marinara for the base
    Kofi R.

Squeezed between a martial arts studio and a Chinese takeout spot, Rick's Pizza is pretty unassuming. Don't let this be a deterrent though, inside is some of the best pizza in the VCU area. Rick's takes after the assembly line restaurant model where you work your way down a line of options, building a pizza as you go. For 7.95 you get a 5 topping personal pizza. On an empty stomach I'd wager you get two meals out of it. Whatever toppings you want, I'd recommend the marinara/curry as the base, a delicious combo that's unique to Rick's. Open late on weekends, consider skipping the line at Christian's and giving Rick's a shot. You'll save yourself twenty minutes and have a fresh pizza to boot!

Cheese pizza with red onions and jalapeños
    Gabby T.

This build-your-own, style pizza shop serves up $8 pizzas with any toppings you'd like. We kept it simple and got a cheese pizza with jalapeños and red onions. The sauce had a good flavor, and the crust was soft on the inside with a nice crunchy bite on the outer layer. It's easy to walk by this place without really noticing it, but it's definitely worth the stop for a late night bite.

This was our first time trying Rick's Pizza. Looks like the place hasn't been open too long. It was a Great deal for your money. They had a great variety of toppings and you can add as many toppings as you want to your personal pizza. The pizzas are a good size. If you are a VCU student you get a $1 off! The staff was friendly. I will definitely be back.

    Vegan cheese pizza
    Leah R.

The vegan cheese pizza was good. I got it with a regular amount of cheese, and prob should've added more because it wasn't a hefty amount. But I enjoyed the pizza otherwise. Matt, my server, made my day. I can see myself coming back just for him.

I love the curry sauce for the pizza! I think the student discount for VCU students may be gone now...

And…read morewhile they've got more than one location, this review is strictly for Carytown because that's my spot. The vibes are always right. It feels like community the second you walk in. Hector is the coolest, hands down--great energy, great personality, the kind of person who makes you want to come back. Oh and did I mention you can get pizza by the slice! The variety is mind blowing and they always have vegan options!!!!! I'm a thin-slice person. I need the right ratio of crust to sauce to toppings, and Zorch nails it every time. Plus, no flop! The cheese slice is a classic and was my favorite... until I discovered The Upside Down. Listen, when I bite into that slice, I literally close my eyes. I see a lot of people say it's greasy. For this one, grease me down baby. The flavor does everything it needs to do. Layered, bold, and honestly addictive. After that slice, I don't even want a regular one anymore. Next up on my list: The Grandma. And for context, I've had Angelo's in Philly. Respectfully? It doesn't compare. Sorry to all the other grandmothers out there lol. One note though-it's heavy on the garlic, so if that's not your thing, you might want to pivot. If it is your thing? Strap in. It's been a few years since I've been able to say I found a legit pizza spot in RVA. A spot that I bring others to often! I'm happy to say I've found my pizza home. Much love to the Zorch crew. See y'all soon!

While I did consider other options, the comparison of a margherita slice and a grandma slice appealed to me. Both were delicious but distinctively different. The crust is quite thin and floppy on both. I did not get the vegan grandma slice but this was available for those in need. They had a range of beverage options and given the heat I might have been well served by getting a seltzer, which I didn't simply because I didn't notice it there initially. There is a larger pizza shop which has more appetizers and salads and things, which I am convinced is worth trying.

I felt like I was getting the true local experience being here. There's only a few chairs to sit while you wait but no tables to sit and eat. Service - friendly and quick. We walked in just before 7 PM and were told that our 2 pizzas would be done in about 30 minutes which ended up being accurate! We took our 1 1/2 year old to the park up the street while we waited. Food - the pepperoni pizza was the best we've had in richmond so far! The red sauce tasted more like a pasta sauce than a pizza sauce - which I loved! The pepperonis were also larger and thinner than the traditional size so they were perfectly crispy. We also ordered the Breakfast Pizza with sausage. The flavor profile was more mild but still surprisingly good. We added red pepper flakes to this one when we got home.

I decided to give it a try since I would be down the street after VCU homecoming basketball game. Upon entering the restaurant, we were told they were not quite open yet. It was about 255pm and our reservations were for 3pm. We did see a couple seated on the restaurant side. When I made my reservations on the open table app I asked to be seated in the restaurant side and not the bar side. When the host came over to seat us, she seated us in the bar area. We had to get the attention of someone to wipe the seats off because food was in the seats. She did ask us were we there for the repass and we told her no we had reservations for 3pm on the restaurant side. We studied the menu for about 10 minutes and decided to order appetizers and soft drinks. The server came over and took our orders. She was back in less than five minutes. Our drink orders looked very light in color and hardly no bubbles were in our drinks. The ginger ale looked like water and the pepsi was extra dark in color. The server never came back to check on us. We decided to get up and leave. First impressions are everything to me. The New Yorker was a cheese pizza while The Wire was a Crab Pizza with pesto sauce. I didn't get a picture but the cheese pull was insane on both! The drinks were good as well. I had the "Pornstar Martini" while my cousin had the "Velvet Notes" I love how the restaurant has 3 different parts. The right side was for the conservatives, the left was for the not so conservatives and the basement was where the party and hookah was at. The only downside of this place, was the service. It was sooo slow! Although, our bartender "Devin" made some amazing drinks!
