Great vibe / atmosphere and music piped outside added to the ambiance. The pizza is kind of a Buffalo style w a thicker crust than Neapolitan--still thin, but cheweier rather than floppy--easier to eat. Great flavor. There are natural wines available, but we didn't really see anyone manning the store where those were to help and I saw bottles being brought to the pizza side of things to purchase...my wife is a Somm. so no biggie for us, but this is truly pizza first and wine 2nd. Dogs allowed is a plus. You may wait a bit in a crowd, but it was a nice wait as we enjoyed drinks out front. We'll be back.

They've got some fun-ass flavors (Nacho Supreme!) as well as reliable classics (Pepperoni Mushroom) - those were the two we got anyways and loved. What more could you want in a pizza shop! Also appreciate how they host a run club, trivia, all the stuffs that a good Richmond staple needs. Felt good to support local and get some of the most reliable pizza we've had in Richmond in-return.

pizza bones is so Richmond. They have the coolest local pop up events like InWine's Pride Prom, mini markets, or Star and Moon Video Club's movie night. They uplift local bizs in the area and have such a welcoming atmosphere. The patio space outside is really nice on a cool evening. They have seating inside too. There are two sections to this shop: a wine one and a pizza one. You'll order up front and pick up your items when they're ready. You'll build your pizza how you like it. Things are a bit on the pricier side. When I come here, it's for vibes and to support local. The pizza is a bit too greasy and crunchy for my taste, but it's still pretty good. I adore their wine selections here. There are quite a few organic and natural wines to pick from. I'd highly recommend checking out pizza bones for one of their awesome collab events.

Long overdue review for Pizza Bones, but had to get on here to share my glowing, overwhelming love for them due to their truly extraordinary pizza!!!! Okay, so if you're a fan of delicious crust (CHECK!), insanely flavorful cheese (CAN CONFIRM!), and then some really creative flavor combos with their specials (YAAAAS) then Pizza Bones is for you. Their cheese pizza deserves a trophy because it is truly a work of art. They posted a video once of how they layer the cheese / flavors together, and you can 100000% tell as it is such a flavor blast for what is seemingly such a simple pizza. I'm also a big pepperoni lady, and they have some seriously tasty pepperoni. On top of having delicious pizza, they also have a cutie wine shop, host some amazing dinners and events, are run by a truly lovely and wonderful staff - seriously such a gem in the area and one of my favorite spots. If you haven't been here, do yourself a favor and GO NOW. (also, very important PSA, get their CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIESSSSS)

I first tried Pizza Bones when they were doing pop-ups out of Carytown Cupcakes' kitchen in 2020, and got hooked! I enjoy how they cook the pizza pretty well, where the crust is crispy. It is a thinner style crust, which is my favorite kind! Basil, garlic, cheese is always flowing and keeping it flavorful. I was thrilled to learn they were getting their brick & mortar, though Church Hill is a little hike from Carytown, I'll make it for them. Staff is always welcoming and friendly. I enjoy that they offer online ordering as well, and you receive text updates about your order. It's also cool that they utilize their space for pop-ups and markets from time to time, for other local vendors. They have one of my favorite cheese pizzas in Richmond. Pictured is a recent special they ran this past week--Jalapeño Popper--so unique and so good!

The VEGAN pizza (veg cheese, veg pepperoni, olives, mushrooms, peppers, onions) SO SO GOOD. And the woman taking our order was really personable and cool. The decor is on point. Lots of seating options but we took ours to-go this time to eat at our hotel. We shall be back and I'd love to dine in. YES: vegan friendly

We've had pizza from pizza bones a couple of times, always pickup. They do have a cute patio space and a little bit of indoor seating, though. If you're coming from outside the neighborhood, keep in mind that it's street parking only. You can call to place your order, or order through toasttab on their website. It lets you choose toppings for the whole pizza or each half. The pizza is good and the customer service is always prompt and kind. I'd say the pizza is a little salty, but I like it salty. The mini cookies are delicious, don't forget to order those with your pizza!

Do not get delivery! Driver said they called and text and they did not. Pizza was over an hour late. Left on the ground by my apartment complex door. Was cold and looks like it was dropped. Called numerous times to store and nobody answered. They did call me back to just said sorry. Very disappointed in the service. Won't be going back.

BING BONG! THEY MESSED UP MY LIFE! I can't eat pizza anywhere else. This shi right here, best pizza in rva. Reminds of pizza in nyc. Small spot so you know they put all the love and elbow grease into making your pizza.

The service was great. The woman behind the counter knew her stuff and didn't undersell how good the tomato jam was. The pizza was really good - the crust was perfectly chewy and crisp. I would have given 5 stars but the beverage choices were weird. The only non-alcoholic options were water (still or sparking), milk, and regular coke. Not to be indelicate but Coke hurts my stomach and I'm not 6 so I went with the water but seriously, no iced tea or lemonade or even a sprite? I just thought that was weird. I don't want a tiny modelo beer at 2pm.

Here's pepperoni pizza with the vegan cheese option. Delicious!

Five stars, easily…read more Ironclad Coffee Roasters lives in a gorgeous old firehouse (1805 on the door) in Richmond, and the space alone is worth the trip -- soaring ceilings, exposed brick, a grand piano in the middle of the floor, vintage globe pendants, and a loft seating area in soft pink. Equal parts coffee shop and living room, with a clothing rack and plants everywhere. There's even an "Ironclad National Park" mural in the courtyard out back. The drinks deliver on the atmosphere. I got the Yama drip cold coffee topped with a generous mound of vanilla bean chantilly -- you can see the actual vanilla flecks -- and an iced mocha that came garnished with a chocolate-dipped coconut macaroon perched on the lid. Nice touch, and not something you see every day. The menu philosophy is right there on the board: local Richlands dairy, house-made syrups and pastries, French butter, award-winning specialty coffee (they've got the roasting competition medals to back it up). "No corners cut. No fimble-famble." Hot coffee runs $4-6, cold coffee $4.50-5.50, plus tea drinks, organic refreshers, and a solid lineup of house syrups. A few things worth knowing: it's specialty pricing, so a latte will run you $6, and the garage-door front means great light but it can get warm. Parking is street-only. Bottom line -- distinctive space, thoughtful drinks, and clear pride in the craft. If you're in Richmond and care about your coffee, go.

You can't miss it. Step inside and the corner location pays off -- gorgeous afternoon light pouring through a row of vintage stained glass set above the front windows, throwing color all over the pink-and-white interior. Chandelier with little fabric shades, topiary along the ledge, counter seating to watch the street. Charming spot. One small heads-up: the menu is a digital screen, and it wasn't working when I visited -- so you're ordering a bit blind, leaning on the bakery case and whatever the staff can tell you. Not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing going in. And you're really here for the baked goods, which hold up. The kouign-amann was the standout -- deeply caramelized, lacquered, shatteringly flaky with that signature sugar crust. I also grabbed two macarons (a berry-pink one and a teal with chocolate filling) that were exactly right: crisp shell, chewy center, generous filling. No complaints. The case is stocked with range -- lemon bars, quiche, chocolate cherry walnut cookies, confetti sandwich cookies, Florentines, a vegan peanut butter option, pineapple upside-down, and more. Plenty of GF and vegan labeling, which is nice to see. You can watch them pulling fresh trays from the proofer behind the counter. A few other notes: it's a small operation, so selection depends on what's come out of the oven that day, and the working area behind the counter is tight and a little cluttered (charming, but not polished). Corner parking is street-only and that intersection gets busy. Bottom line -- a genuinely good Richmond bakery with real pastry chops and a beautiful corner space. Get the kouign-amann before they sell out.

Most customers took their orders and walked away. I visited them on a Sunday afternoon just after St. John's let out. It's just one block away and the church Patrick Henry gave a speech. There were a lot of church goers enjoying the business. Proper has a menu in the window to guide customers on choices of savory, or sweet. I wanted one of each. The man at the window was great in providing recommendations. I ordered the steak and cheese as well as the Banoffee. The preparation is already done and the man with assistant moved quickly to complete my order. I enjoyed my treats at their outdoor table and also enjoyed conversation with locals. I started with the steak & cheese which was loaded with meat and cheese. DELICIOUS! Then onto the Banoffee which smelled heavenly of cocoa. Another home run! I love bananas and if you do too this will be enjoyable. So glad I found them open on my visit. There hours are very good, but I have missed them in the Summer before on vacation. Just go, no brainer.
