very good pizza, didn't skimp on topping. fast delivery. we highly recommend. website was difficult to navigate and find the menu.

Delicious pizza!! We ordered 5 10" pizzas, 1 for each person including our 3 kids. 2 were gluten free as we had read about the cauliflower crust on yelp. Kids raved about the pizza; wife and I ordered Aly's specialty pizza, 1 being gluten free... highly recommend! We will be back next time we visit Richmond! read more

I had tried Sparrow's once before a few years back but wasn't incredibly impressed at the time, as I think I ordered the wrong thing (thin crust instead of original crust pizza). My boyfriend was craving pizza last night and suggested we order delivery from Sparrow's, as they offer free service to the surrounding area. I selected a four cheese pizza, light sauce, and he ordered the sausage and ricotta, added extra ricotta and added spinach. The four cheese still had more sauce that I'd personally prefer so next time I'd just ask for the thinnest layer possible in the notes. Otherwise, both pizzas were good! Definitely a solid and affordable choice in the West End. read more

Most wonderful pizzas! i'm addicted to their crust. Its texture is incredible, and the toppings are fresh and of high-quality. My personal favorite right now is the Luau:--the combination is perfect, and their bbq sauce is outstanding as is the thick bacon they use. I just ate a piece for breakfast cold and it was delicious. It's the best pizza around. Definitely recommend! read more

Great service and best pizza in the area. Pizza is consistent. Quality ingredients make the pizza always delicious, light and crispy. Fast efficient delivery. The location is a little weird, off the main road but don't let that stop you read more

Couldn't have been an easier experience on a Friday night pick up. Decent prices, we got a plain cheese, a pepperoni with hot honey (not super hot) and their Aloha pizza. Would probably switch it up next time with our order but nice crust, nice sauce, easy and quick pick up. read more

Lot's of 5 star reviews so we wanted to check Sparrows out. I am a pizza snob so it is hard for me sometimes to be objective when it turns out to not meet my preffered 'type' of pizza. Overall 4.5. I recommend Sparrow's - It's a solid choice, especially if you prefer a thicker crust and a bit more sauce. Great service and fresh ingredients are a plus. We called ahead and they answrred quickky and were very polite and friendly. Only 15 min wait for a Friday night! Very friendly when I picked up too. 6 people working and they were all busy! Note this is a take out and delivery only spot. Its hidden off Horseoen and Broad behind Full Key The pizza itself was good, boasting a fresh and well-cooked crust. I found the crust a bit on the thicker side, and there was a bit more sauce than I like, although not enough to cause the cheese to slide off. It's a matter of personal taste, but for those who prefer their pizza with a hearty base and generous sauce, this would be a plus. The pizza was somewhat "small" for a large The garden salad  was a generous size, packed with fresh tomatos, cucumbers and onions. Considering the speed of service, the generous salad portion, and the overall quality of the food, I felt the meal offered good value.  My rating rationale  +1 Service +.5 Food~Taste/flavor/quality +1 Presentation +1 Atmosphere/vibe +1 Value read more

Imagine... A pizza place; no inside dining (yes, pick up, or delivery), open 4-9PM. Established. We have been regulars for years. How good would that have to be? Even better; try the cauliflower crust! Awesome & healthy too. David read more

WOW! Got a order of Garlic Knots & a Med Cheese & Sausage Pizza to go. Outstanding! Knots were baked to perfection swimming in a buttery, garlicky pool of goodness with a container of awesome tomatoe dipping sauce on the side. Pizza? Top shelf. Sparrow's knows how to make pizza dough. Cheese, sausage and sauce brought it all together. I'll be back. 5 STARS!!!!! read more

Sparrow's never disappoints. Everything they make is top notch. I've never had a pizza like theirs where I absolutely love every component: the toppings, the cheese, crust, and even the marinara sauce. I'm not a big fan of marinara, usually, but Sparrow's marinara is heavenly! I even get extra to dip my pizza in. I've sampled through their whole menu over the years I've been ordering from them and there is nothing they make that I don't like! I especially recommend getting an order of garlic knots with whatever you order. Sooo much garlicky butter all over huge, pillowy knots of dough. Absolutely heavenly. Pro tip: save the extra garlic butter (there will be plenty) and mix it in with some pasta for a really tasty treat the next day. read more

Love, love, love Sparrow's pizza. We've had both takeout and delivery and haven't been disappointed yet. Their homemade crust is light and crispy, the sauce fresh and not overpowering, and the cheese and toppings are generous. We also like that they offer a cauliflower crust pizza option. It is delicious. Sparrow's staff are friendly, and all our orders have been delivered/ready for pickup on time. This is our go-to takeout pizza restaurant. read more

Ordered a medium white cheese pizza with extra cheese. The garlic was very strong, as it should be if you're going to order a white pizza. Crust was tasty and had a nice crunch to it. Really enjoyed this pizza. Small shop. Support the local pizza shop! read more

This is our second time with Sparrows pizza (delivery) It really is great pizza, especially the dough, with generous helpings of toppings. I have ordered the Greek and the Veggie pizza for the vegans in my family. Both are excellent, and I look forward to trying some of the others. Their dough is fresh, the best I've had in Richmond. I won't be going back anywhere else for pizza! Even though I ordered at the last minute, my pizza were delivered right on time--amazing service! Grace G. read more

Almost impossible to find as it's a business behind a row of businesses on the street. Nice owners, I'd really love to give them 5 stars but the pizza to me was Mom and Pop average. Have it delivered unless you want to go on a quest around the world. read more

Great selections of pizzas and salads. I love the service too! Delivery service is superb!!

I love the pizza but they stopped delivering for some reason. I've always tipped at least 30% so I know it's not that and the deliveries have been great. But for some reason they stopped delivering and that's a huge bummer because I have to go somewhere else to get pizza delivered. read more

The BEST pizza, maybe that I've ever had! Honey boy is great, got the house salad and cinnamon knots too (they were warm, soft, and so delicious!) read more

Sparrows does a great pizza pizza. It's not fancy but it's the best version of generic deliver pizza I've found. My family has been order sparrows for 2 years now and the food always hot and fresh and the staff is always polite and helpful. The menu changes every couple months but the classics are always available. Try the cinnamon knots or donut holes you won't regret it! read more

Best pizza in Lakeside area, fast delivery, fresh, satisfying and delicious! Highly recommended!

Absolutely delicious. My husband and I are from Buffalo, NY and moved here 10 months ago. We have been on the pizza search ever since as you know Buffalo is known for its pizza (NY style pizza is not the same). This is the closest we have found to home yet and honestly is almost identical. It was so good and filled the void we have been missing. We are so happy and excited to have found Sparrows! We literally just saw a delivery car driving by and thought "what the heck let's order it". The universe was looking out for us. read more

Finally found a local pizza place I trust in the area! The hand tossed crust is thin, but substantial enough to comfortably stay together. Sauce and toppings are on point. I also STRONGLY recommend the meatballs. They are better than most sit down Italian places. The free delivery is fast and the food has been hot with each order. You're crazy to spend money on pizza elsewhere. read more

The pizza is always great! And the employees always have a great smile! Most of all it always HOTTER!

TL;DR: Friendly service, Garlic knots to die for. Delicious and affordable pizza. I finally got around to trying this place out on Friday night. It was snowing pretty bad, so a lot of other places had closed due to the inclement weather. I called to put in an order for pick up, and they said it would be around 30 minutes or so. Okay, no biggie. When I got there, it was a little shop that I pass by all the time, but never realized what it was. The inside is small (no seating area), so pick up or delivery only. There was only one person working inside, and he seemed to be the one taking orders over the phone, making the pizzas, AND taking payment. He was super friendly, and I would come back just for that. Food: - Whatever you want pizza: Basically, add as many toppings as you want. A large was $14 (same price as their supreme), and it was so delicious. We got pepperoni, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, jalapenos. For having that many toppings, their crust was sturdy enough to where it didn't get soggy. There is no extra flavorings on the crust, but the crust alone tasted so good. The toppings were fresh, and they used REAL bacon, not those bacon bits you buy in a jar. - Garlic knots: OMG best garlic knots I've ever had. They were pretty large, but so soft. The garlic butter sauce was so good, not too salty or overpowering. You could choose to scoop up some extra garlic from the bottom if you wanted to though, and i LOVE garlic. You get ~8 garlic knots for $4. No better deal than that. I will definitely be coming back here when I'm in the area, since delivery would be too far from home. The service AND food were just amazing. read more

Every time we come to RVA we get a pizza at Sparrow's. They never disappoint! Tonight we each had a small pizza. The White pizza was perfect as was the Hawaiian. Absolutely love Sparrow's Pizza! Highly recommend! read more

So I decided to visit this spot based on some of the reviews here on Yelp! I ordered a small half pepperoni and half sausage pizza and a small Salad Supreme no olives. First that was the biggest small salad I've ever had. I ate less than half and there is still so much salad leftover. Filled to the brim with cheese, bacon, mushrooms, green peppers, onion, and nice chunks of chicken. I ordered ranch but received their House dressing which was really good! The pizza crust had a good texture and held up well. But for me the pizza overall was a bit salty and greasy for my taste but I ran it back in the oven to heat it up and it was better. I would definitely go back and try a sub or another salad! Yum! read more

After reading all of the previous reviews, we were excited to take the leap and try Sparrow's. We ended up getting the garlic knots, but honestly, I think they're overrated. There wasn't much garlic flavor at all and they were just doused in oil/butter. Plus, the marinara was just eh. We got the BBQ chicken pizza on thin crust and I think that was the best BBQ pizza we've ordered in a long time. However, we also got the meat pizza and that was just OK. I wouldn't say it was bad, but it certainly wasn't better than other pizzerias in Richmond, as suggested by other reviews. I think the best part of it all is nothing was super greasy, but honestly, if it means more flavor, then I welcome a bit more grease. Will not be reordering from here in the near future. read more

The pizza was not good I ordered the Margarita and the red Sauce taste like tomato paste from the Cane. The pizza dough was very thin burnt and taste like cardboard. Sparrow pizza is always fantastic! Their pizza is delicious. Garlic knots to die for and delicious salads. We got delivery on a busy Friday night and one of the pizzas unfortunately got crushed, so the cheese all stuck to the top of the box. I hesitated to call, but ended up calling since the pizza was ruined. The owner Mike didn't hesitate to immediately fix it and had a new pizza brought out to us. We already loved Sparrows, but now I'm an even bigger fan. Great food and fantastic customer service! read more

What can I say about Sparrows Pizza? It's a small little pizza shop that really does 1 thing Pizzas (calzones and Stromboli can fit in here), but like many small places that do an exceptional job. This is not NY Style, I'd call this homestyle. The dough is soft and light with the perfect crunch on the outer crust, the sauce is hearty with a deep rich tomato flavor. Overall the pizza is well balanced on both flavor and mouth feel. Toppings are definitely above average in quantity and quality. Definitely a hidden gem, stop in say HI to Mike and get yourself a pie. You won't regret it. read more

First time trying Sparrow's pizza. The texture and taste the bread/crust was perfection and the sauce was delicious too. We went really basic with pepperoni and sausage.
