We ordered through DoorDash, and it was still hot and delicious! We got the meat lovers, which fed myself and three young kids. I highly recommend!

They told us thats their combination pizza...really

I am very disappointed, that last time I ordered the combination pizza I received exactly the combination pizza as is on the picture on their website and today my wife go to order it again and what she receive is not the combination pizza and the worst part about it is that, my wife showed them the picture from yelp the shows the combination pizza and from their own website and she told me, they all look at each other confuse like they have no idea what a combination pizza on their website looks like versus what they made just look at the picture below thats not the combination pizza, and of course is a waste of time to dispute this charge because is food and services were rendered, but the fact that you have employees and they don't know the menu, make it bad business, last time the owner delivered exactly what is on their menu and I got the combination pizza but today I got something else...

Garlic knots. Wasn't expecting Romano cheese on there, which I liked, but my fiancée did not.
    Damian L.

"Meh. I've experienced better." That's essentially the way I felt after my visit to Apollo's tonight. Don't get me wrong, I've had worse pizza in my life. Just... not in the last few months of my life. --Food: We had a small order of 6 garlic knots and a large half cheese, half pepperoni pizza. - Garlic knots: We didn't see it listed, but they come with romano cheese sprinkled all over them. The problem with this is that the cheese absorbs the buttery garlic liquid (which is normally the sinfully good part of garlic knots), and we were left with slightly dry and less flavored garlic knots. My fiancee doesn't even like romano cheese and brushed it all off. - Pizza: I've said it in prior reviews, but good pizza (to me) falls in one of two categories. 1) Thin crust pizza with a crispy crust. 2) Deep dish with a buttery crust. The pizza at Apollo's is a thin crust, but only the very end resembles anything near crispy. The first slice out of the oven had a firm-at-best crust, but the second slice after having sat a few minutes was really quite soft. If you happen to like thin, soft crust, I think you will strongly disagree with the 2 star rating of this review. I won't cut credit where credit is due; there is a perfect amount of cheese and the pepperoni had a nice spice to it (albeit a bit greasy). It wasn't a bad tasting pizza, but it's hard for me to acknowledge the taste with the texture of the crust. There are a lot of other items on the menu as well, and it's possible that I'll try some other ones at a future date. I particularly like Steak and Cheese, so that's something I could see happening. --Cost: Above food came to ~$15. I'd say about average for a pizza and a bread side. --Atmosphere: Nothing too out of the ordinary for a pizza place. There were two TVs playing America's Got Talent with about 8 people dining in. Place was pretty clean. --Service: We ordered and had our pizza in about 15 minutes. Garlic knots came sooner. They do give generously sized Styrofoam cups for water. Staff was nice enough. --Overall: As it's right down the street from where I reside, I wanted to like Apollo's more. It has the right foundations for a good pizza in my opinion, but I just couldn't get over the crust. If a soft, thin crust doesn't bother you or is preferred, by all means, give them a shot. I personally think I'll be sticking to Capriccio's which isn't too much further down the street, but I don't regret coming here.

Cold soggy sub and cheesecake with 'strawberries'
    Kimberly J.

It all started before I even ordered. I had called to clarify what meat came on the Italian cold cut sub. After being told it had ham & salami, I asked if I could substitute pepperoni for the ham. I was placed on hold for close to 5 minutes to be answered. After getting an answer concerning the substitution I placed my order online. When I sent the order, the app glitched and I wasn't sure if the order was sent. So I called to verify if they received the order. After being placed on hold for yet another 10 minutes they verified they did not receive the order. I once again opened the app and sent the order, this time the order went through. I waited approximately 75 minutes for a cold soggy sub (was suppose to be hot), cold cheese sticks, and cheesecake with a red gel that was supposedly strawberries. Which I paid an extra $1 for. Needless to say, I will not be ordering from here again.

Apollo's is my favorite in Richmond. They always put adequate toppings and you can taste the fresh mozzarella and tasty tomato sauce.

Hector is the coolest, hands down--great energy, great personality, the kind of person who makes you want to come back. Oh and did I mention you can get pizza by the slice! The variety is mind blowing and they always have vegan options!!!!! I'm a thin-slice person. I need the right ratio of crust to sauce to toppings, and Zorch nails it every time. Plus, no flop! The cheese slice is a classic and was my favorite... until I discovered The Upside Down. Listen, when I bite into that slice, I literally close my eyes. I see a lot of people say it's greasy. For this one, grease me down baby. The flavor does everything it needs to do. Layered, bold, and honestly addictive. After that slice, I don't even want a regular one anymore. Next up on my list: The Grandma. And for context, I've had Angelo's in Philly. Respectfully? It doesn't compare. Sorry to all the other grandmothers out there lol. One note though-it's heavy on the garlic, so if that's not your thing, you might want to pivot. If it is your thing? Strap in. It's been a few years since I've been able to say I found a legit pizza spot in RVA. A spot that I bring others to often! I'm happy to say I've found my pizza home. Much love to the Zorch crew. See y'all soon!

While I did consider other options, the comparison of a margherita slice and a grandma slice appealed to me. Both were delicious but distinctively different. The crust is quite thin and floppy on both. I did not get the vegan grandma slice but this was available for those in need. They had a range of beverage options and given the heat I might have been well served by getting a seltzer, which I didn't simply because I didn't notice it there initially. There is a larger pizza shop which has more appetizers and salads and things, which I am convinced is worth trying.

I felt like I was getting the true local experience being here. There's only a few chairs to sit while you wait but no tables to sit and eat. Service - friendly and quick. Food - the pepperoni pizza was the best we've had in richmond so far! The red sauce tasted more like a pasta sauce than a pizza sauce - which I loved! The pepperonis were also larger and thinner than the traditional size so they were perfectly crispy. We also ordered the Breakfast Pizza with sausage. The flavor profile was more mild but still surprisingly good. We added red pepper flakes to this one when we got home.

I decided to give it a try since I would be down the street after VCU homecoming basketball game. Upon entering the restaurant, we were told they were not quite open yet. When I made my reservations on the open table app I asked to be seated in the restaurant side and not the bar side. When the host came over to seat us, she seated us in the bar area. We had to get the attention of someone to wipe the seats off because food was in the seats. She did ask us were we there for the repass and we told her no we had reservations for 3pm on the restaurant side. We studied the menu for about 10 minutes and decided to order appetizers and soft drinks. The server came over and took our orders. She was back in less than five minutes.
