This modest location in Santa Fe is a hidden gem. Not many Santa Fe places are open 7 days. Not many pizza places do a good enough job making a NYC style pizza that my wife from NYC likes them. As a New Yorker living NOT in NYC, I put up with non-NY pizza a lot so I was DELIGHTED to find Pizza Centro which has the most authentic NY pizza I probably have ever had, outside of NYC . Calzones are especially hard to get out of NYC but hot damn, these are authentic. They even have a good Gluten-free crust so my husband can enjoy coming as well :-). Highly recommended!!! read more

We are tourists and heard that this location had good pizza and wanted to come in. Upon coming in we were not greeted by the three employees sitting down at the first table to the left and eating. The woman got up and made sigh sound and acted like it was an inconvenience for us to be here... we would have turned around and left but we literally walked over a mile from our hotel to eat here. As we were overlooking the menu and looking at everything they had the male employee sitting down eating started talking Spanish to the women waiting to take our order. (Unknown to him I'm bilingual and heard everything he said.) -how we should know what we want to order before coming in, how she should go and sit down until we finally make up our mind... and her response -well i would but I would just have to get back up again to help them... TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE I WOULD NEVER COME HERE AGAIN OR RECOMMEND ANYONE HERE. IDK how the food is just yet. It look delicious but I will not spend my money here ever again. Very rude and dismissive. I did just get my food, left a tip and told the women in Spanish I understood everything and have a good day. She looked very shocked that I spoke Spanish perfectly. It's a clean, small, hole in the wall if your dining in. Self-service-like place really but with excellent counter help. Few choices of beverages - red wine was red and dry. Domestic beer and soft drinks basically. The salad was so big it could have fed four. We had the spinach salad and it was very fresh with lots of bacon and Gorgonzola, if not a touch too much dressing (better than dry I say). We got a large pizza with pep, onion, bacon, kalamata olives and feta cheese. It truly didn't need all of those toppings because they put an extraordinary amount of each topping for $2. Good - pretty good. Surprisingly good. Now, I only had two slices at lunch, the alphabet and pepperoni - didn't like the alphabet too much, but that's just me. The single slice however of pepperoni was pretty solid. I'd like to go back and order a pie of my own - and I'm pretty confident it'll be good. The crust is very good - not too doughy - had a nice crunch along with a slightly soft texture in the bite and of course a very good/traditional flavor. There's a review on here from a New York guy (funny review) but he's right - it's "surprisingly" good. Agreed. Having grown up in Detroit we too consider any pizza outside our neck of the woods garbage. It's nice to be proved wrong. :). read more

I haven't had an item here that I didn't absolutely love. Some of their items do have a lot of garlic, which I love, but be prepared if you have a meeting after lunch to brush your teeth or get some gum. Was so excited for my mom to be in town and wanted her to taste and enjoy this pizza place that my husband and I love. I ordered his regular Chelsea and then got a plain cheese pizza for my mom and I. Got all the way home after picking up and there was nothing like what we ordered!!! I tried to scrape off whatever topping they decided we needed but did not order!! and covered it with some cheddar I had. It was still inedible! NOT WHAT WE ORDERED!!! This is the downtown location of Pizza Centro. When you walk up, you can smell the fresh garlic cooking. They offer several specialty pizzas or you can make your own. We chose a 12" and a 16" which was plenty for our family of two adults and two teenagers. We had 3-4 pieces left over. They offer a gluten-free option but we didn't choose it. They have several of the typical toppings as well as some others like fresh basil, balsamic dressing, sun dried tomatoes, and our favorite when in Santa Fe - green chiles. The pizza has the thick New York style crust that also has crunch to it. The mozzarella is fresh and made from whole milk. Soft drinks and water are available. The water is free. The sign said they had fresh organic salads but we didn't try those. We did try the gelato they have. It wasn't Baskin Robbins 31 flavors but of the 8-10 they had, there were plenty of great choices. With the COVID situation and New Mexico's current mask requirement, there was no indoor seating in the restaurant. But there were seats and tables inside the design center which the restaurant is connected to. We ate at one of the three outside picnic tables by the street. The street can be a little busy but there was a view of the mountains from there. It was a Friday night and the restaurant was busy with several carry out orders. Several delivery drivers were picking up orders while we were there. That reaffirmed how popular this place is. It was a short walk from our hotel. When the sun begins to set even on a hot summer night, the cooler Santa Fe breeze makes it a very pleasant walk to the restaurant and outdoor dining experience. read more

I ordered the 18-inch Hell's Kitchen with marinara, sausage, caramelized onion, green chile, roasted red peppers, feta cheese, and mozzarella cheese, but left off the jalapenos, since Mom isn't the biggest fan of heat. For seasoning, I just went with crushed red pepper and added a bunch of parmesan. Although the combination of toppings may sound strange, it came together so well. First of all, they make their own crust and sauce so a lot of love goes into each pizza. The sausage was very well seasoned with fennel and Italian spices. The spice of the green chile and tanginess of the peppers blended superbly with the creaminess of the feta. The marinara tasted freshly made, not out of can. I ate five slices in one setting. Very good! It was a beautiful September day and we decided to go get pizza around 3:00pm so it wasn't busy. This was out first visit to Pizza Center (found it via Yelp) and we were not disappointed. The layout of the restaurant is very open, counter service, and very casual. Order your pizza and beer (or wine) grab a seat, and don't forget your utensils and napkins from the corner. We ordered the Little Italy with truffle oil, and a couple of Peronis. Very tasty! I am leaving a star out because for being such a slow time of day, it was surprising when we skipped a few tables because they were still dirty. We ate here at the recommendation of our hotel as we aren't from Santa Fe. This place is located in a repurposed warehouse with several other eateries/stores. It's very small inside with a small patio as well. The menu has pizzas, appetizers, salads and then they had gelato as well. Our group ordered garlic bread, a normal pizza, a Caesar salad and a gluten free pizza. The pizzas were good as was the salad, however for the price point, I would have expected more flavor/better quality. Our main issue was our side of ranch and the garlic bread each had a hair in them, which really turns you off of finishing your meal. We would not come back. read more
