This shop gorgeous. From the painting on the wall, the color scheme, and the overall design, this shop grabs your attention. The staff was very welcoming, the bathroom was clean, and the ice cream was tasty. Lots of New Mexican ice cream options to include green chile and other New Mexican favorites. The ice cream is made with all natural ingredients. Would love to go back!

Great ice cream spot! They have a lot of fun flavors like coconut. If you're not in the mood for ice cream, they also have baked goods like cookies.

Super friendly service with an assortment of fun flavors of ice cream. The chocolate chip cookie is divine! A fun space to sit down and enjoy a couple of scoops of your favorite ice cream!

First time at this location and it was as good as I remember the other being. This location is more convenient, as there's on-street parking right in front. Walking distance from other great places like Second Street and Nuckolls. I had the red chile chip and it was great.

    Separate tongs for potential allergens

Great ice cream made from great locally sourced products. My daughter has a severe peanut allergy, and we have to be very careful with ice cream shops (usually have to pass them by). Here they are very conscious of allergies and potential cross contamination, and my daughter and I felt very safe for her to eat here. The only potential cross contamination source would have been a few of the cookies, and those are not only separate, but they even have separate tongs for the peanut cookies. Very highly recommend all around.

Great place! I love coming here every time im in santa fe. Good service and good ice cream! Workers are always curious and welcoming. Ice cream flavors are unusual, and change regularly. take advantage of it! The classic flavors are okay but the more unique ones are AMAZING. Ambiance is okay, small but cute. Would recommend!

Scoop sampler for roughly $8. Great deal!

Cool little independent ice cream shop. I wish they had more dairy free options but their offerings were good.

Every one of my visits to Santa Fe requires a trip to La Lecheria. The ice cream is the best I've ever had and the service exceptional.

We ordered the Jeffersonian and the Italian Citrus elixirs. Both are 74% chocolate. While the Italian has lemon and orange zest with cinnamon and vanilla, the Jeffersonian has nutmeg and vanilla. The citrus was quite evident and refreshing while the nutmeg gave the Jeffersonian a very earthy flavor. Even though this time we didn't have their truffles, their flavors are unique with lavender, fruits, and even chiles. If you are in for unique sweets and rich elixirs, I absolutely recommend Kakawa.

Though the chocolates are quite costly, $4-5 per piece. I also had a mint chocolate ice cream. The mint flavor here is so unique, of fresh mint, which might not fit well with people who likes mint chocolate ice cream. I like it though. The ice cream is soft and smooth. Chocolate pieces are creamy Mango smoothie is refreshing. I recommend checking this unique place out when visiting Santa Fe.

We were warmly greeted and we're happy. It was on the quiet side since they weren't busy yet. By the time we left, it was busy! We really enjoyed our server, Paris. He was warm and seemed to take a general interest in us. I shared my concerns with him that my pallet doesn't tolerate much spicy. He at all. He assured me there would be no problem in accommodating that. He started us off with a complementary prickly pear & lemonade drink which we loved! He also provided a complementary appetizer which was very unique and made out of avocado and mascarpone and some other items I don't remember. Why I didn't love it, I did enjoy hasting something so unique and different. We started with the best cornbread I've ever had that shaped like a cob of corn with three different kinds of butters. The cornbread is $12 and worth it! Next came the Caesar salad wrapped in some kind of egg roll wrapper and topped with an anchovy mixture. We split it so we each got two rolls which was plenty. We very much enjoyed the flavors in the salad. Don ordered the Wagyu short rib with polenta. While we don't love polenta, this was tasty and complemented the beef nicely. Don said this was the best short rib he ever had. I wish I had a picture of how they presented it. When they took the lid off, there was a lovely steam cloud and it smelled wonderful. I had scallops with each one placed beautifully on top of of really interesting wild rice and finished with toasted coconut. The pineapple salsa and the Hoja Santa Fe Oil were placed in small rounds in the middle of the dish because they had some kick to them. What was especially impressive, is the gentleman who brought out my meal leaned over and said that the Chef wanted to let me know that the two items in the small dishes had heat to them, but I was encouraged to give them a try for the full flavor. Impressive! I was able to enjoy the pineapple salsa, but the oil was a little too spicy for me, but I'm glad I tried it. We would've loved to try dessert, but we were fully satiated by our delicious meal. It was quite an experience and we look forward to returning.

The inside is dirty and uninviting but I was needing a place right away so I committed. The carrot cake looked really good so I asked the girl for a piece. She was very odd. She started at me as if she couldn't believe someone asked for the carrot cake. She said something I couldn't understand. My friend jumped in to help but she just looked at him too. So odd. Eventually she handed me a styrofoam container with carrot cake in it. I also ordered a small Americano. The Americano was good and the carrot cake was good, but it was a small piece and not worth $13! I asked for the Wi-Fi password, but the other girl working in the counter also kind of stared at me and shrugged her shoulders. I asked again she said "I don't know it" I tried to ask the other girl and she said"we don't know it because no one's ever asked for it before". I said, "but you're a coffee shop and the Wi-Fi is there for guests. We just need the password." And she shrugged her shoulders and walked away. The latte didn't do anything for me...it was overly sweet without really tasting of honey or lavender, and was too thick or something. The doughnut, however, was a different story. The blue cornmeal gave it a really nice texture--a bit crunchy, and the icing had actual lavender, not just flavoring. Best $2 I've spent today!
