We had medium cups of cookies n cream and strawberry. We chose those because ' chocolate' and Chocolate Chip were not available. That's a silly situation in an official store. And then she Weighed each cup. it's not Gold folks!! Her cookies n cream was mushy and i had ice crystals that went away.pretty fast. I think more oversight is needed. oh, on our YELP page it says free parking, first, all parking is a two hour meter and second no one moves if they are parked. They just feed the meter. This is a walk up store. with no tables. Just two long church pew wood benches inside. read more

Came in for a quick snack to occupy the kiddos. It was straight forward. Got in at a good time with no line. The person worked here was alone, overworked with all the tourists, but was efficient. Icecream is consistent with the brand quality. Nothing fancy here but clean. Their prime location would do them well. read more

Many of the ice creams in the case had ice crystals on the top like the freezer wasn't working right. Two different kids scooped our order of 2 cups with 2 scoops each and they didn't turn out at all even in size. You could taste the ice crystals in the strawberry . Yuck. read more

Avoid this location! This was the worst ice cream experience I have ever had, and it raised serious food safety concerns. The employee who served me, a young woman with very long nails, handled my cone without care. She touched the cone directly and even dragged her arm along the edges of the ice cream vat. Completely unsanitary. My husband ordered a cookies and cream shake that tasted like watered-down milk. He has never thrown away an ice cream in his life, but he did today. That says everything about the quality being served here. The most disturbing part was what happened to the customer in front of us. She ordered strawberry but was given raspberry instead. The mistaken raspberry scoop was handed to her, then taken back by the employee without knowing if she had tasted it. That scoop was dumped back into the raspberry container, and then a scoop of strawberry was placed into a dirty cup that had already held raspberry. Watching that was shocking and completely unacceptable. On top of this, my husband's shake was passed between two different employees before it was finally given to him, while others stood around laughing and chatting in front of customers instead of working. The entire environment was careless, chaotic, and unprofessional. I do not place all the blame on the young employees. This comes down to management failing to train them properly in food safety handling and customer service. Allowing this kind of behavior is dangerous and reflects terribly on the Häagen-Dazs brand. Other reviews mention the same problems, which shows this is not a one-time issue. This shop needs immediate oversight from corporate, and the health department should take a close look at their practices. Avoid this location until serious changes are made. read more

Wow. So it's hot as hades outside, and the middle of the afternoon, and we all know that Häagen-Dazs is like the best ice cream in the world. But they pick the worst time to train people so they basically have one guy helping everyone in Santa Fe who wants ice cream at a Häagen-Dazs and in the midst of that he stops to take a couple minutes to train and explain everything to his trainee as the lion grows longer and longer. I have had the opportunity to share this horrendous experience with my new friend. What's your name Amanda with Amanda and she's about as mad as I am so. So luckily, I got here before the line that is getting longer and longer. I'm gonna take another photo just for fun.. management, get a clue, train in the morning. That's what Amanda said. read more

After our dinner and spending time walking around the Plaza, we stopped at Haagan-Dazs for some ice cream. We had a chocolate with brownie bits and a Rocky Road in a cup. The ice cream was enjoyed by everyone. Service was great. read more

Time for a little dessert. Since we're in the plaza a little Häagen-Dazs in in order. Hot day, short line and flavors we don't get often. Enjoyed our scoops out of the sun. read more

Nice little stop for ice cream in the main square. There was a small line but it moved fast. My ice cream was a little more melted than normal coming out of the service area but my daughter's cream was fine. It was no big deal but I just had to eat it faster than normal. read more

Right off the square, it's super conveniently located. It is a pit pricey though, at $14 for two single scoop ice cream cones. It was worth it though as it was my dad's reward for relinquishing his drivers license after seventy years. It made him happy on what was otherwise a very sad day for him. read more

Sad place. Costco cake served in styrofoam to go box. Even when you eat in. Cappuccino with cinnamon in paper cup. Unpleasant place that could be quite nice with some simple tweaks. Clearly not ambition to do better. What a waste of potential. People who work here seem not very happy. read more

Very good ice cream for my family and I. the tables were clean the employees were great and nice great experience I will go again

The place and especially the bathroom is dirty, and it looks like a manager hasn't been by all day. The clerks verge on incompetent.

Loved the creamy and choclatey flavors, good portions and attentive service. As usual for this brand of ice cream it can be a bit pricy.

We came here tonight around 8:25 looking for some ice cream. We rushed over knowing it closes at 9. We get there and there are about 5 people standing there being served with a huge "closed" sign on the door. I opened it hoping this was a mistake because they close at 9 and people were being served. The guy looked at me when I opened the door and said "no we are closed" hmmm ok? Poorly managed. About 5 other people tried going in as I walked out telling them he won't serve us. We'll we decided to go to LA LECHERIA right down the way. They stayed open till 9 and they have great ice cream! read more

We DO NOT recommend this ice cream shop as it caused my two children to have food poisoning and illness over a series of days. The container of cookies and cream ice cream was left on the counter and they became severely ill between 12 to 24 hours of having it. After reporting it to the NM of health as well as Häagen-Dazs, we still await a response after six days. read more

Verbally attacked by employee! I was served mushy melted ice cream. When I asked for something else the man became enraged. He was so angry and started slamming all the cooler doors. He said he had worked there for three years and the ice cream was always like that? Who serves melted haagen-dazs and then yells at the customer? He slammed our ice creams down and then slammed all the coolers shut. We thought he was going to attack us. What a crazy nut job. We got out of there as fast as possible. read more

I'm always excited when ice cream shops have sorbet, as not all of them do and I can't eat dairy. Our large group came tonight for dessert and had a great time! I got the strawberry sorbet, absolutely delicious!! Real pieces of strawberry in it! My son got the mango sorbet. My husband got the strawberry ice cream, also with real pieces of strawberry. Our daughter had the salted caramel truffle ice cream, which she said is one of the best ice creams she has ever had! Didn't get any pics, but everything was great, including the friendly service!! read more

AVOID AVOID AVOID Extremely unprofessionally owned/operated and it shows: NO MASKS by employees - all customers had one NO PRODUCT - Out of stock on 70% of items - I watched more people walk out than order. OOS happens but blaming everything on COVID while not wearing masks is off-putting. This owner does not care about you/me or anyone, not your business nor your health The incompetence and apathy is pervasive in the kids that work here. This ice cream establishment consistently closes before their advertised hours. Why would you say you are closing at a time and close 30 minutes before that. It has reoccurred multiple nights and I was rudely told by one of the employees that they closed their cash drawer 20 minutes before 9pm. Again I think this is unprofessional and rude. The store itself by the way is not in pristine shape and not very clean overall. Anyways I will not be visiting again, open or not. read more

Used to be one of our favorate stops when we went down to the SF Plaza area.....no more..... The last year or so, the service at this shop has been extremely poor. The employees act like they are being put out and actually doing you a favor to take your order. Orders are poorly prepared and inconsistent. Shop is frequently cluttered and dirty. On our last trip (about a week ago), we ordered three milk shakes. Two of the shakes were runny, I had to ask for the whipped cream topping (shown on the order board), the chocolate drizzle (also shown in on the order board) was left out, the card reader did not work and the staff was downright rude. There are other choices on and around the Plaza. We are done with this shop and encourage anyone looking for an ice cream treat to look elsewhere. read more

OMG. What a colossal failure. How do these guys keep a hagendas franchise. first, they were understaffed with a room full of customers and 3 confused teenagers working. The cashier girl disappeared for no apparent reason and hippie #2 decided it was time to wash dishes. This left hippie #1 scooping (slowl), misunderstanding customers and handling money and credit cards. When he got to me, he excused himself to get a band-aid, which he applied in front of me. When he was ready to scoop my order I asked him to put on latex gloves. He said they didn't have any. When I object, he argued with me. BTW none of the employees were wearing masks..Grade F. The lady ahead of me put down her dish after paying and walked out. read more

Ordered three ice cream scoops. Paid with credit card. The lady asked if I wanted a receipt. Since they were so busy I declined. Capital One just notified me that I had left a 60% tip for the scoops. They instructed me I had to contact the store. I have tried every telephone number I could find for the store and for the main Haagen-Dazs website. They are all incorrect. Be aware that your card may be charged for more than it should be. I never leave a tip in a store that is just providing a service that the store is supposed to do (i.e. serve ice cream). And so a $13 tip on a $20 charge is disgusting. Will never recommend this store. read more

First time coming here!! Ordered Belgian chocolate milkshake with an extra shot of espresso!! There was only one person behind the counter when I came there so if it gets busy she will be running! This place is the place to be for desserts!!! A variety of pastries and ice cream! You can sample any of the ice creams but I wanted to try the Belgian chocolate ice cream!! I requested for the milkshake because I haven't had one in a while! It was delicious BUT it seemed like she added too much milk in mine. It was too runny, if you know what I mean. Lady behind the counter was very friendly and always smiling. She was very professional and was multi tasking. If you ever come around to Haagen dazs....go inside and give it a try!!! It'll be a sweet experience!! Bring your kids and grandkids or your date! I would recommend this all my friends and family. Yeah it's pricey but with my experience as long the food is good it's always worth it! read more

Very typical Haagen Dazs ice cream shop. Great product you can't go wrong with. The service was good, but this is a favorite tourist stop. Lines are often long and the may feel understaffed. The floors felt dirty and air conditioning on the low side with the front doors wide opened to the sidewalk. Filthy tables and floors (and no customers in the store), management needs to train employees to wash their hands after handling $ and before scooping ice cream. Strolling around the Plaza can get a bit warm in the summer months and this July was no exception. Feeling a bit overheated we popped in to gram a cup of ice cream and a bottle of water (and enjoy the AC as well). This used to be one of my of my favorite haunts in Santa Fe, but alas it has changed. Other merchants informed us they original owners sold this around five months ago. The new owners are not like the old owners. I love the ice cream, but this place is the most mismanaged, confusing ice cream store. First of all, a limited amount of flavors - they only had around 12 or so flavors. It's more about baked goods, coffee and sandwiches. I understand wanting to expand your business, but where's the ice cream? Along with the limited selection of ice cream, they were out of vanilla, had pictures of sundaes on the wall, yet didn't have the ice cream to make them. Or if they had the ice cream, they didn't have the toppings. (Speaking of toppings - only two: hot fudge and caramel). Very confusing to order because the staff appears just as confused as the customers. There was no organization about an ordering system and the staff (all three) seemed lost behind the counter on making orders. Plus the scoops are very tiny and portions are inconsistent between scoops. I really felt ripped off. I asked for a hot fudge topping and it was barely a half of teaspoon and if I wanted more, I would be charged it. Meanwhile the counter help told us they were "giving us a break on price". So how much would this have cost me I wonder? Meanwhile, we paid $14 for two 2-scoop cups. Save your money, go to Albertsons Safeway or 7-11 and purchase it there. Better deal. read more

If there is one thing lacking in Santa Fe, it's coffee shops. Ya, ya, I know you are thinking, "What, really?" But when you are at the conference center and it's 8am, there are NO coffee shops within walking distance. I set out on a search for coffee and free Wi-Fi. In the end, I decided I would be happy with coffee. I stumbled across Haggen-Daz's "Coffee" sign and went in. YES, they did have coffee & free Wi-Fi, friendly staff, desserts, healthy breakfast options (low-fat home-made granola bar & a banana), sandwiches, and yes, ice cream. Wi-Fi was fast. Perfect place to have breakfast and get work done. Thanks for being more than just ice cream! read more
