This one is tough for me. I really wanted to love this restaurant because pretty much all of the reviews I read about it were positive and I love small local businesses. I'll start by saying that the service was pleasant. This could partly be my fault since I ordered something that I normally wouldn't, but I wasn't impressed with the pasta I ordered. I'm not a huge fan of white sauce, but what I really don't like is to have to continuously season my food after I ordered it; not just with red pepper ( a personal preference) but with regular salt and pepper. I thought maybe the pizza would change my mind, but it was really only okay. I was totally expecting it to remind me of the texture and flavor of pizza I had in Italy, given some of the reviews, but it didn't really hit the mark for me. I would love to come back and give it another shot, and again of course order a pasta more to my liking. read more

This is one of the most amazing and charming little restaurants in the valley. The best Italian ever. I loved it. It's in a strip mall right by the Circle K. Don't give up the hunt when you can't initially find it! Once you walk in you are warmly welcomed by the owner and will enjoy the best service you have ever received. Absolutely delicious, thin and greasy pizza. Their pizzas range from small to "how am I gonna fit this in my car". Their toppings are tasty and fresh, and their sauce isn't overtly sweet like many places, its thin and packed with delicious flavor along with the rest of the pizza. The location itself is small, packed into a strip mall with a Circle K and plenty of vagrants so you may feel like take out is a better option. The inside is tiny but charming and the food will immediately make you forget that you're going to be pressed for change the second you reach your car. I would definitely suggest this place to anyone looking for a delicious wood fired pizza in the heart of the city, they even have a ton of tasty pasta options and a three foot pizza guarenteed to be a party pleaser. read more

This place has never disappointed me. Everything is absolutely delicious every time. My fiancé and I live in the immediate neighborhood and we love having it so close by. I consider it a hidden gem actually- it's on kind of a "rough" corner near a Circle K, but let me just tell you it has no bearing on the business they get. Every weekend it's busy in there and rightfully so. Very small place with only a handful of tables, the employees work so hard and are extremely attentive. Used to be only one server when I would go in there and maybe 1-2 working in the small kitchen. But now there's a couple ladies up front serving, Margarita is so incredibly hospitable, attentive, friendly. You feel like you're a guest in her home. Always dressed to the nines. Really welcoming place. I have ordered many things off the menu and never once have I been let down. Their sauce is INCREDIBLE, which as an Italian woman myself who grew up with a mother that can cook and a foodie who KNOWS what good italian food is...I eat what's left with a fork. It's that good. Their pizza is delicious, I love that they put ricotta cheese on it if you ask. Quality ingredients. The pizza dough is baked with the slight char on the edges (brick oven I believe). We get the wedge salad often, everything fresh, portions generous, especially the crispy pancetta (bacon) they cover it with. They tend to be heavy handed with the dressing at times but literally that would be my only gripe ever. I've had the mussels, also delicious. I could go on and on. This place really is a Phoenix gem and I see them staying around a lot longer. When the food is good, people will come. They will sit in a small place on a sketchy corner to eat GREAT FOOD!!! Usually I go in for fantastic service and food all around. Their delivery came the freshest I've ever had and I try something new every time, even though there's not a whole lot new I can try cause I go there so much, but this place is a 15 out of ten would recommend. Please if you respect yourself come to this place to eat. Margherita is the owner I'm sure and should own many more places. Her staff is great and the food I cant Compliment enough. My favorite pizza joint. Pizza Ingredients taste fresh and their sauce is amazing. Hole in wall that is located in a small strip mall that may surprise you. The dining area is also small but it's all about the pizza. You can see the brick oven in the kitchen where your pizza is being baked. Great Italian spot. I recently changed jobs and now work in the west/central Phoenix area. This little gem certainly surprised me. Had the ravioli with marinara. Added a meatball for a small additional charge. Threw in hot soft Italian bread for free. All had great flavor, esp once I added a little crushed red pepper (some like it hot)! The homemade meatball was top notch and the ravioli was perfectly cooked. Silky smooth outside, cheesy inside. Overall, a great lunch at a reasonable price. It is definitely now part of my lunch rotation. Gotta try one of their personal pizzas (12") next time. read more

My order was fettucini primavera and my gf ordered margarita pizza. We both enjoyed our orders. The pasta and vegetables were fresh and very delicious. Wow, this place was such an amazing surprise. My beloved is a former Phoencian, and swore by this place. So last week, after turkey and doing anything to avoid both cooking AND leftovers, he sold me on getting take out from this place. Over Federal Pizza and Pomo. I was, to say the least, skeptical. And dead wrong. Yes, the Thomas Street location is sketchy, and the decor is cheesy. But who cares about looks? What I care about is substance: namely, the crust and the sauce. This place has both in spades. We got the Frescolina. Perfect cornicone, great flavor in the crust, which was appropriately thin. The sauce was slightly sweet and deliciously herby with oregano, neither too heavy nor too light, but just right as a contrast to the salty prosciutto, creamy mozz, and biting arugula. I would be remiss, however, in not mentioning the antipasto platter, a generous portion of caprese salad, cured artichokes, olives, peppers, eggplant, and prosciutto, which comes with a side of balsamic vinegar that should be generously applied. If you, like me, think you've had all the excellent pizza Phoenix has to offer, but haven't been here, you're wrong. read more
