Very cute cafe next to the Baltimore waterfront. I went with a few friends to study and grab lunch, and enjoyed my time. The interior is modern and clean and the employees were nice. The food was served quickly, however one employee did seem annoyed when my friend asked for extra silverware (not sure if they have a policy against giving them out?). The food was amazing! I had the "red" sandwich which was pretty good although a little dry. My friends had the rustico which they loved. We all tried the monkey bread, cruffin, and fruit tart which were all pretty good. My favorite was the cruffin which I had never seen elsewhere before and I love croissants and custard. Would prefer a cinnamon roll over the monkey bread though. Prices were also on the steeper side. Pitango is located in historic Fells Point right on the water. It is the perfect place to work or meet a friend or colleague. Today I was there for both. I usually work here in the summer when I can hang outside. I was inside on this February day and had the chance to observe the employees. They were very kind and accommodating. Now for food. Pitango cures its own meat and makes their own pastries. I don't think I have to say more than that, but I will. My favorite sandwich is the prosciutto and egg. It is the two obvious things with arugula, roasted red pepper, parmesan and a salsa on the flakiest croissant. They also have focaccia that is so thick and soft, you can sleep on it, but you should just eat it instead. There are also wonderful desserts and tasty drinks. It is hard to go wrong here. read more

To my surprise, it is really loud inside so I recommended enjoying your food outside. *All the breads are made in house. Sandwiches are pre-made and are heated up to order which makes the service very efficient. Even on a busy day like today my order was ready within 10 minutes. My favorite item on the menu is the sipping chocolate. Trust me, just get upgrade to the large. It's chocolate is smooth, velvety goodness! The chocolate is balanced, not too sweet or bitter. What an absolute treat! So happy we came across it =) We stopped for a quick breakfast and luckily it was SO nice out we were able to sit outside in the sun with a beautiful waterfront view. Breeze and sunshine with a breakfast sammy in-hand, what could possibly be better?! The egg croissant was incredibly tasty and perfectly flaky. The ingredients added to the croissant made it well worth the five-star rating (peppers, spinach, and tomato). I wish I could eat here every day! What really stole the show was their Espresso Tonic! SO GOOD. The atmosphere is ideal for working, studying, meeting or just hanging -- with plenty of seating to pick from including, indoor and outdoor! An 'on the water/old town' charm to the location, with good coffee and breakfast/brunch food. Staff were friendly and helpful. The seating was mostly taken up by people studying or working on laptops, so seating was a bit of a challenge. Parking was also a bit of a challenge, had to walk a bit. It had been a long time since I've been back here but came recently with a friend over the weekend for lunch. It was a busy afternoon but the line moved pretty quickly. I ordered a chai tea latte and a Rustico sandwich while my friend got the Salami. The focaccia bread the sandwiches are on is amazing here. My Rustico didn't have filling ingredients but it was still fine. My friend really enjoyed his Salami sandwich which I also tried and it was quite good - the roasted red peppers made it quite flavorful. My chai tea latte was ok, I've had better but it was decent. I do find Pitango over priced but it is a good and casual spot for an occasional quick bite. The views by the water are great and it's nice to sit outside when the weather is nice. read more

I visited here for the first time Saturday afternoon. It's hard to find parking in the area but if you luck up you can find free 2 hr street parking. I have lived in Baltimore for a year and a half and have only come to Pitango a handful of times. Pitango is one of the most popular study spots in Baltimore, it is always packed on the weekends. I came here on a Tuesday morning to cowork with a friend and Pitango was a little busy but not overly crowded. I ordered both a cruffin and a hot chocolate. The cruffin was light, flaky, and had a nice cream based center that was vanilla with a hint of lemon. The hot chocolate on this day was just okay, usually it much better. Other times when I've had a cup of hot chocolate it had been thicker and creamier, this time it was more of steamed milk with a hint of chocolate. On average I think their hot chocolate is their best drink option, as every time that I have had a coffee item from here it was very underwhelming and overly expensive. Overall, I feel like there are better options to go for in Fell's Point. I mostly only come here when other friends suggest it but I also enjoy popping in to get a cup of hot coco to fuel some later night writing. read more

Although it is self service, tip options jumped out when you pay the bill, from 15% to 20%. I think they would have more tips if options of small dollar amounts, such as $1, $2 or $3 were available. We ordered: 4*Fennel salad included fennel, herby arugula mix, olives, walnuts, apple slices, lemon vinaigrette, and parmigiano. I gave 3* rating for most salads. After all a salad is a salad. I rated this one 4* because it is really good. Herby arugula gave it a bit bitter taste, lemon vinaigrette was light, not over doused all over. It relied on the natural ingredients like apple and olives to lend its flavor. If you show me wrapped baked goods in cellophane, I'm turned off. So I spy with my little eye something called a Cruffin. Everyone is trying their hand in recreating the Cronut, so I ask about this Frankenstein mash up. The counter person tells me it's a cross between a croissant and a muffin but we stuff it with pastry cream. Is this a big seller? Oh yes, our customers love the "Cruffin" I take my purchase outside.
