OK I have to say I was a bit nervous to come here, but the food was exceptional! I love that you get to pick your protein and then go over and pick anything you want to be added. They can sauté it for you I just have a RAW. They let you have anything you want including avocado no extra charge. I picked the pita wrap any it was so so good. Only problem is I live out of state and I won't be able to be back till next year. This place is a germ definitely kill. By the way the girls were really sweet and helpful. read more

I've been to this specific Pita Pit several times and almost always have ordered a salad, however have enjoyed a pita a couple times. I also utilized them for a work catering function I was In charge of and that was a huge hit a few years ago! I stopped by for a quick salad today before the lunch rush, experience has shown me that it's not very fast in there during the usual lunch rush. Young man at the counter was nice.... ordered a Chicken Souvlaki salad! Made my way to the far counter for prep and customer service was lacking a bit there today. Just a lack of enthusiasm, but their day just started, so I let it slide. One gal started it, another young man continued, did pretty well for the most part. I had to ask for additional toppings because he was so frugal with a few of them, however was good about putting some requested items in corners of the box for me rather than over the top! I didn't notice until I got back to the office with it and dug in that all of the romaine lettuce was past its prime and pink throughout, not horrible but not ideal either. I did have spinach too, and the toppings were all in great shape! I debated between 3 and 4 stars and went with 4 because they're on their game most of the time and my pink lettuce has not been the norm in the past. Oh and an FYI - I thought they delivered but only for orders of $50+, I tried to order lunch online for two a month or so ago with no luck. Bummer! read more

All hail Pita Pit, my new favorite mid town grab-n-go spot. Fast, friendly, clean, under 10 bucks, HEALTHY and Delicious. This place hits all the marks except for being a chain. If it was locally owned and not a chain, they would have my undying devotion forever. I can't believe they have options like falafel, hummus, feta and roasted red peppers... it's just too good for words. I am really surprised that a store that is facing backwards (BIZARRE zoning?!?) is the busiest Pita Pit in the world. In Alaska. Did I mention that the store is backwards? So that's just a testament to a great product, fair pricing and excellent management. Ask for a loyalty card, cause you're gonna get hooked. It's inevitable. And they serve breakfast all day! Wilbert is the man, every time I get Pita Pit Wilbert knocks it out of the park. He's always working hard and keeping the grill fresh, and seams to really have a passion for cooking. He always does spicy mixtures of sauce that come out perfect! All the other staff is really great, prompt, and good as well, Wilbert really makes the experience bright every time! Messy, not organized. This location is filled with teenagers. One lady looked like she was high and kept messing up the orders (no mask) the male employee was working hard on the grill however not properly following the recipe the customers asked for. Another lady came in a rush (mask around her neck) and "saved the day" by finishing all the orders. However I had to correct my order and the lady with no mask kept reaching over peoples food that were being made. Overall, the phone is 8/10, although the staff did not seem to be taking proper sanitary precautions, and failed as a team to make sure they were all wearing masks (in a mask location) read more

Although it's not the fastest fast food restaurant, it's a great tasty (healthier?) option! The service may be slow but the food is delicious! I (for the third time) enjoyed their gyro with all the fixins. Managed to miss the sauce I wanted but the guy gave me a side cup. The veggies were fresh and crunchy and the gyro and pita toasty - I love that they grill the meats right there in front of you. Pita Pit is a chain, and Anchorage's locations are owned by a local younger person. It is fast-casual dining, and can be considered a healthier option. I prefer it to Subway. I tend to get mine as a salad option. There are vegan options. When I was on the Auto-Immune Protocol (AIP) I was able to find compliant options as well, that had some flavor. The toppings have charts with labels that can help. Options are endless with falafel, chicken, hummus, steak, feta...I think it is great alternative to Subway or another fast food option. This is my boyfriend's favorite spot when we don't have something pulled for dinner, and I don't mind going their for him. I get full and have something full of flavor. Military discounts are offered, and they do have a pita of the day. Staff typically is distracted and sometimes looses sight of what is going on. So service is average for this type of restaurant. The appearance is average, and overall, still remains average. I still give it 3/5 stars. read more

I came in here for the very first time after hitting the gym. I've had plenty of opportunities to come down here every time I drive by, but the outside of the building has no windows or promotional specials signs making me wonder if the place was closed. The driveway going in was barely noticeable with no entrance sign to guide you in. The driveway on the other side of the building is also hard to spot and this is a one-way exit if you miss the first one so be sure to slow down when you approach the first driveway into the parking lot. Once I got into the parking lot, I spotted the entrance next to a chiropractor's office. Some windows at the rear of the restaurant would help get more notice for this place if drivers miss the road entrance. Inside, the place was packed with working regulars from the bank next door and the surrounding office buildings nearby. The seating area was cramped with most of the tables and chairs placed together for a cafeteria-style setup. The employees here greet everyone warmly and service is quick when preparing your order. I decided to try the chicken souvlaki pita with Mediterranean seasoned chicken, spinach, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, feta cheese, tzatziki, and tomato pesto spread. I love Greek-style food and this was a delicious healthy lunch option for protein and vegetables after a workout. Diners also have an option to order a salad version instead of a pita and to customize their order with any number of veggies, sauces, and cheese ingredients that are displayed at the prep counter. I regret not going here sooner since I've always wanted to find another place for a healthy lunch and not have to visit the salad bar or deli at Carrs or New Sagaya every time. The coffee shops I go to for studying have a number of healthy options, but I would rather have lunch elsewhere and hit the cafes afterwards with a good cup of Joe while studying. Overall, the food was great and the pita was large enough for a meal making the combo side unnecessary with a drink. The seating area is really not a big deal especially when the employees here are upbeat and friendly with everyone who walks in. I will definitely come back to try some of the other items on their menu especially their breakfast pitas.The Awakin' With Bacon (eggs, green peppers, grilled onions, hash browns, and cheddar cheese), Meat The Day (Black Forest Ham, bacon, eggs, onions, peppers, hash browns, and cheddar), and the Morning Glory (eggs, tomatoes, grilled onions, green peppers, hash browns, and cheddar) leave me no doubt that they are just as big as their lunch counterparts. Great place to stop by for something healthy. Lines can sometimes seem long but they move super fast. Be sure to get a rewards card! For fast healthier food, this place is one of my favorites in town. I like the upbeat atmosphere, the friendly folks, and the food. I usually get either a falafel or gyro pita, sometimes salad. There's something in there tzatziki that I find really appealing...addictive, actually. I find myself craving it from time to time. With the exception of their regularly gross-looking tomatoes, their produce is fresh and adds to the pitas. The one thing that isn't good there is the soup--tastes like soup out of a bag, very very salty, no matter the kind. But that's not what I crave there, so I don't care. Is the staff paid to be as friendly as they are? they are just so friendly here. One cashier once told me, you look very lovely today and I though woah....ok, a little over the top, but still blushed and shied away, grinning. I always get the chicken souvlaki on wheat. I go here about 3 times a month, always after a 2nd job shift, when I'm starving. The pita completely fills me up, I'm satisfied and enjoy the flavors of the tender chicken, tzatziki and assorted cold veggies. It doesn't feel entirely fast food-ish and I don't worry about it being horribly caloric, because frankly, it's not! It's just a healthy alternative to subway when you're a walking zombie until you get food in your stomach. I noticed they added siracha sauce as an option and I wonder is that's due to customer feedback, which I think is fantastic, if so. Great place for a healthier meal on the go. read more

I have read that this is the highest grossing Pita Pit franchise in America. I have no interest in reading through SEC filings to verify this claim, but I could believe that it's true. People love this place, and it's always hoppin, even during off peak lunch hours. They don't skimp on the veggies and sauces, they're friendly, and they're fast. No complaints from me either. I choose the Pit over Subway, Quiznos, and all the other "healthier fast food" joints any day. I personally go for the Gyro more often than not, double meat, cuz I ain't scared. read more

I went here on Sunday evening. The food was fresh, fast, and fantastic. Next time I will leave a tip for the two that served me. $20 = two big gyros. I do feel like I needed a gun or mace to safely get from my car to the store and back as the lot was empty and secluded. The buildings nearby were the same way as it was the weekend. At least there are cameras on some of the office buildings. I feel terrified for the employees closing up when it is dark. I would never let my teen work at this location on a weekend. I hope the PITA PIT is taking steps to protect its workers. Other than being in a secluded spot, this place was A+ all around. Customer service was excellent and friendly. I really like this place, so yay, I'm a fan! I came in here after walking away dejectedly from ACS in search of a new screen protector that they were out of. I have never been here before because it's always been so packed, but this time was definitely manageable. I ordered the Hummus Pita and walked away, not realizing it's like subway and you have to walk the pita down the line to add stuff. I got the spinach, tomatoes, avocado spread, onions, green peppers, sprouts, banana peppers, and some grilled veggies. The spread is hummus and the sauce tzaziki, though the sign said tahini. No biggie. It was pretty tasty. The best part about the whole experience was every staff member was extremely nice. I will definitely come again. read more

Very impressed the first time, the "twins" (2 sets?!?) served us and were very helpful in suggesting the sandwiches and best toppings/veggies/sauces to compliment each pita. Had a prime rib and a chicken souvlaki. Tasted great, have to say I was pleasantly surprised and kicking myself for not having come in sooner. Today, different set of people, not so helpful and not very good listeners. Didn't offer to grill veggies, we had to tell them to do it. Asked for a little of something and got a handful. Asked for green peppers and she grabbed a handful of onions. Again, not a great listener. Not helpful with sauces or "spreads" and we had tried different sandwiches this time, so we just went with safe choices.
