All hail Pita Pit, my new favorite mid town grab-n-go spot. Fast, friendly, clean, under 10 bucks, HEALTHY and Delicious. This place hits all the marks except for being a chain. If it was locally owned and not a chain, they would have my undying devotion forever. I can't believe they have options like falafel, hummus, feta and roasted red peppers... it's just too good for words. I am really surprised that a store that is facing backwards (BIZARRE zoning?!?) is the busiest Pita Pit in the world. In Alaska. Did I mention that the store is backwards? So that's just a testament to a great product, fair pricing and excellent management. Ask for a loyalty card, cause you're gonna get hooked. It's inevitable. And they serve breakfast all day! And I'll never post a pic of my Pita because I'm always too excited to dive in to remember to get a photo.

Exceeded my expectations for a pita pit. Good, healthy, fresh, fast, cheap, friendly staff. Can't ask for much more.

I've only had a few dalmas, with the majority being Trader Joe's in a can. These were very fresh and had a lot of flavor! Much more soft and juicy. The fries were also seasoned and fried nicely, and that feta is amazing! Next time I must get the Greek salad it comes with an entire block of feta! And the olives even though they had pits and ( I had to shovel it out of the toddlers mouth because he grabbed one so fast) they were so fresh and firm! Three of us shared the biggest platter that had kebab, chicken souvlaki, shaved pork yerro, fresh red onion, grilled pepper and tomato, with fries and some pita. The prices on yelp are higher than what they were on the menu in the restaurant. The platter was $52. You get so much meat though!! I'm so bad I didn't take any pictures :(

My husband and I shared the spicy feta dip, kebab, and spicy pork gyros, and we enjoyed every single thing. The spicy feta dip was especially good, and the pork gyros had so much flavor. The staff was also incredibly friendly and welcoming. They took the time to chat with us at the table, which made the experience feel really personable. The only minor downside is that the space can be a little echoey, so I could see it getting fairly loud when the restaurant is busy. But overall, we really enjoyed our meal and would definitely come back!

This place is an absolute gem!…read more We came here today and everything was phenomenal. The gyro was perfect, the potatoes and salad were delicious, and the custard dessert was out of this world. The service here is outstanding. It feels like getting lunch or dinner from your own Greek Papou. They are incredibly generous and welcoming, which makes the whole experience so special. To the people complaining about the prices: anyone who's been in Alaska knows that sourcing and buying quality food here is expensive for both restaurants and customers. The prices here are VERY fair for the quality and portion sizes you get. Yes, the restaurant is obviously small and tucked away in a little aged strip mall, but that is part of its charm. If you want authentic, incredible Greek food made with love, come here. Tip: If seating is tight, just get it to-go! We will absolutely be back.

As we were driving by, we noticed Antonio's and decided to stop in. From the outside--and even when we first walked in--the place was completely unassuming. To be candid, it looked a little worn around the edges. If you're someone who judges a restaurant by its appearance, you might keep driving. That would be a mistake. What followed was one of the culinary highlights of our entire trip to Alaska. We ordered a couple of items, but the owner insisted we try several additional dishes. As vegetarians, we're often limited when exploring new cuisines, but not here. Every plate that arrived was fresh, flavorful, and made with obvious care. The experience was a revelation. It made me realize that I've probably never had authentic Greek food before. The Greek dishes I've had from chain restaurants, food courts, and grocery store offerings don't even belong in the same conversation. The ingredients tasted fresher, the flavors were more vibrant, and every bite felt like it came from a family recipe rather than a corporate kitchen. What elevated the meal even further was the owner himself. He spent time talking with us, sharing how he ended up in Alaska and telling stories about his journey. It felt less like dining at a restaurant and more like being welcomed into someone's home. I've traveled extensively and eaten at restaurants across the country, and I can confidently say Anchorage is fortunate to have a place like this. Antonio's isn't just a restaurant--it's the kind of hidden gem that deserves national attention. Frankly, it belongs on a travel or food television show. If you're in Anchorage, do yourself a favor: ignore appearances, walk through the door, and trust the food.
