We visit this Taco Bell frequenly. Poking through the reviews on here, it seems like people only bother to comment if they have a complaint. I've been going to this Taco Bell for eons and as far as I can recall they've never messed up my order, staff has generally been friendly and helpful and the food was tasty. I'm not sure why there's so much hate being tossed at this location bc it's not deserved. The one bummer is the lobby is currently closed due to Covid restrictions. Fast food restaurants are rather difficult to review since the goal of the chains is to have consistency across the globe. The food should be the same from Anchorage to Atlanta. With that in mind I have decided to review fast food joints on a couple standard categories listed below. 1). Consistency of product; When ever I have eaten here the food has been hot and prepared consistently. I have not received a poorly folded burrito or a messy taco. As all of us know, few things are worse than a messy taco. 2). Professionalism of staff: The staff is always courteous and polite to the patrons. They address customers as Sir or Madam, welcome people warmly and recount your change. 3). Friendliness of staff; The staff usually seems pleased to be working there. I have never worked a fast food job myself but I can imagine that it is not the most rewarding job to have. At the same time unhappy employees could signal unpleasant things for the customers if you know what I mean. This is not the case at this Taco Bell. The staff here is consistently friendly and they seem to get along in the kitchen as well. 4). Cleanliness of restaurant: Other than during the lunch time rush the dinning room is usually kept clean. This is understandable since during the rush you want all hands in the kitchen pushing food across the counter. In my opinion, this is one the better ran fast food restaurants in town. Managing one of these places can't be easy considering the challenges in hiring and keeping a trained and motivated staff these days. read more

So early this morning I went there and there was still about 40 minutes to close The signs light was still on so I went through the drive-through to give my order and the guy at the drive-through told me that they were only taking online orders. He told me that I would have to download the app to get food. I explained to him I drove all the way across town and was headed towards Jewel Lake so this was my only choice. So I downloaded the app and ordered my food. The same guy came over the intercom and there was still a good 18 minutes before they closed and he rudely told me that I should go to another restaurant because they didn't have any other orders and they knew I was the only one ordering so they decided to put their food away. I told him that I did everything he asked so I can get food and explain now you're saying you're not gonna give me the food to which he basically said that he was hoping I was just going to leave. So I'm telling you that the kids that were left there running that place that night had no intention to do any work and basically had already shut down the store before I got started. If the kid had just told me from the get go OK we're closing down I would've been fine but he wasted all my time getting me to jump through a bunch of hoops with no intention of ever serving me. It was the first time I had gone to this Taco Bell because I generally eat Taco Bell 3 to 4 times a week at Jewel Lake location. I think it's time that I just consider finding a new restaurant. This Taco Bell seems to move a bit slower than the other Anchorage locations. But the staff do seem friendlier here. That said though, they're definitely stingier with the sauce packets here. But yeah, it's a Taco Bell. They have Taco Bell items. They're open late. It's cheap and easy, late night food. Maybe someday Taco Bell will listen to me and bring back the volcano taco.
