Looking for a yummy wrap? This is definitely the spot. I always order the same thing because it's just that delicious the bacon & avocado wrap. It's one of those meals you try once and keep coming back for. Pit Stop is located in a shopping center with plenty of spacious parking, which makes stopping by super convenient. The location itself is pretty big, with lots of seating options, whether you prefer regular low tables or high-top tables with stool chairs. The theme and decor are really cool, which makes the whole experience feel unique. Everywhere you look, there's something interesting to see. The employees are always nice, and the food comes out very quickly, which is definitely a plus. Overall, it's a great spot for a quick bite with good food and a fun atmosphere.

A casual breakfast and lunch spot in Western Oceanside. I would say it's more of a casual Americana themed restaurant versus a diner, but still you will get filled with good size portions at a fair price. Inside is really large and there are many different seating options and giant sized tables with many chairs available. They also have an outdoor eating area. Parking is extremely easy. It's located in a shopping center with plenty of free parking. You order at the counter, they give you a number, and then they bring the food to you. It is not a full service restaurant. The menu is not large, but it does have a lot of good options on it. I chose the Chili Cheese Omelette for my breakfast and thought it was really good. It was a decent sized portion and I honestly really liked it. I would recommend if you are in the area.

Overall, the place was good, just your regular retro diner. It has a fun vintage vibe and a really nice menu that caters to everyone. They offer everything from breakfast burritos to burgers served all day. I definitely think it's a good spot to check out if you're in the area. I just wish my turkey burger had cheese.

Casual spot that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Classic car sitting right in the middle of the restaurant! Order at the register, they give you a number, and bring your order when ready. Good spot for families, and they have little games to play near the register you can take to your table and arcade games. Fast and friendly service. It was around $45 including tax and small tip for two burgers, a kids meal, and app sampler (zucchini, shrooms, rings, and fries). Everything was delicious, and we came home with some leftovers, as the sampler is huge!

Came to get my usual from 10 years ago. Nothing beats a chicken strip wrap with some fried mushrooms on the side. The ambience was calm, relaxing with great music. Service was fast. I love coming here. It was nice to step back into some old stomping grounds. The great thing about this place there's something for everybody. They have burger sandwiches and wraps. Sides. So as I said when it first opened we came here a lot then things changed so we stopped coming. After quite a few years we heard good things and decided to give it another try. We've been back for the last few years however they again have made negative changes. I'm pretty sure it's new owners? As all of the staff has changed. I don't like that they significantly reduced the amount of drinks. They no longer even have fresh brewed tea. They rarely have coffee and usually just decaf which you know isn't fresh. They changed the fries. The fries used to be amazing! Now they have poorly cooked crinkle fries. I have nothing against crinkle fries but they are not cooked right and mushy and gross. The bacon on the burgers is rubbery, flabby and basically inedible. We will be taking a break until hopefully they make more changes for the better again after seeing sales drop

Cute family diner! They have the classics you would expect at an American diner style restaurant with some other fun stuff sprinkled in too! Service has always been pretty quick and friendly staff. Aloha guys and gals! I'm out in the neighborhood again and this time I'm in Oceanside, CA at the Pit Stop Diner. This retro style eatery is based on the 1950's and 60's. The diner houses an eclectic mix of car and road collectibles from floor to ceiling. The crown jewel is a 1962 Chrysler New Yorker in the middle of the of the floor. There is so much to see. As you enter the diner you first have to place your order at the counter. Just look for the line of folkss standing at the traffic signal...(yes, I said traffic signal..lol) in front of the registers. You'll place your order and will be given a number to place at your table. The wait staff will deliver your food when it is ready. Soft drinks and coffee are self serve. I was going to order lunch, but after seeing the Biscuits and Gravy Combo on the menu which included three eggs and a choice of sausage links or bacon, I decided to go with breakfast. The warm and savory sausage gravy over sweet and flaky biscuits was flavorful and perfect for the cold weather we were experiencing today. Eggs over easy and crispy bacon strips topped the combo. The only thing I wish I had ordered to make the meal complete was a side of crispy hash browns. Overall my meal was more than satisfactory and I enjoyed viewing all of the fun and interesting collectibles. My only suggestion is that I wish the diner had music to fit the awesome and fun theming.

I was driving through Oceanside after a beach day when I pulled into Pit Stop Diner--a super fun retro spot that's like stepping into a 1950s car-themed time machine, complete with vintage signs, license plates, and even a classic car inside. The nostalgic vibe had me hooked right away, and with a massive menu of affordable eats, I decided to go for their signature Pit Stop Burger Box combo and a Greek Salad to balance the indulgence. What a fantastic choice! The Pit Stop Burger is a beast: a juicy charbroiled beef patty melted cheese, fresh lettuce, and tomato on a toasted bun. It's got that perfect smoky flavor with a mix of textures that makes every bite explode with taste. It came with fries and 2 chicken tenders, which came out hot and crispy with just the right seasoning, and for $10 including the combo, it felt like a steal for such generous portions. To keep things fresh, the Greek Salad was spot on. A big pile of iceberg lettuce mixed with gyro meat, red onions, kalamata olives, pepperoncinis, tomatoes, cucumbers, and crumbled feta, all tossed in a tangy vinaigrette and served with warm pita bread on the side. It had that authentic zesty kick without being overpowering, making it an ideal lighter option alongside the burger. Service was speedy and welcoming; my order was up in about 10 minutes, even during a busy lunch rush. The place is spotless, wheelchair-accessible with outdoor seating, and totally family-friendly--perfect for a quick pit stop or a casual meal. If you're in Oceanside craving classic diner fare with a fun twist, Pit Stop Diner nails it. Can't wait to swing by again!

I'm not sure if this is a branch of Money Pit but if you know Money Pit, Pit Stop is a larger version of it. License plates on the walls and pillars and a big model car in the middle. They have a variety of options for food: breakfast, lunch, dinner and even dessert! The employees here were ready to serve and the inside is very clean. We ordered the junkyard dog (no relish), avocado BLT w/cheese fries and a strawberry banana milkshake. Everything was really good and I would definitely come back to this novelty stop!

Pros - plenty of room and fast food service. Good fries. Cons- ordered the chili size. If there was anything resembling chili I don't know where they hid it. Burger quality poor and grizzly. Bun was way too sweet to go with chili. Seemed pretty sad overall. read more

This is the second time I've ordered online and the second time that got our order wrong. First time they forgot half our order and we had to wait for the other half to be cooked, this second time my husband went and picked it up and my husband asked if everything was there and he said yes, only to come home and more than half the order was wrong. We tried calling but they were not answering the phone, we are never going to order online again and probably never going to eat here again, sorry, not taking a third chance read more

Pit stop is an awesome classic dinner with very consistent meals. All the staff is very friendly and make you feel welcome. This place is my local neighborhood go to spot and they never fail to satisfy. Pit stop burger is always bomb! Cobb wrap is another great one and chicken fried steak for those weekend breakfast mornings. Beer selection is limited but they have some winners with mango cart and space dust. I have never had a bad experience here and since I have been eating here for literal years now, I had to leave a 5 star review! Thanks pit stop crew! read more

This is our favorite breakfast place. My husband orders either the biscuits and gravy or chicken fried steak and he loves it. I order pancakes or the chicken wrap with fries. They also have amazing ranch. Not that out-of-a-bottle stuff. Their fries are super good and you always get a great amount of food. The staff is nice but I wish they would make the place feel more like a diner. The atmosphere and decorations are one of a kind but I wish there was more of an experience to it instead of just a shell of car memorabilia. read more

I order two double cheeseburgers and an order of chili cheese fries.The chili cheese fries didn't look appetizing they were super soggy & didn't have enough ground beef/beans in the chili. Idk if it's under new management but usually when I call to place an order, they say to pick it up 15-20 minutes. I come, and it's ready. I placed an order for pick up today and they started to make it upon arrival. I was told that with phone orders, they make it once the customer arrives, which means we had to wait longer. At that, the order was wrong. Response- So saying one cuss word, means that I cussed you out? I wasn't aware that she confirmed the order with you, which is why I came inside. How can you get 8 chicken strips wrong though? I was clear when I called, and at that, who ever I spoke with mentioned the kids meal and dinner meal. I just said 8 strips. Instead, I got 4 orders of a 2 piece chicken meal. Like I said, I've ordered both inside & have called in before, it was never a problem nor did I have to WAIT again. What is the point of calling in beforehand if you just have to wait again? I understand that some wait to prepare upon arrival to ensure that the food is hot or that the customer actually pays, but it would've be nice to be informed, especially since that was never the case when I came in the past. Lastly, it didn't help that you kept asking, you don't want your fries to be cold, right? You clearly saw that I was upset, and made it worse. That wasn't good customer service, questioning me. In the end, I am the customer, and like they say, the customer is right. Which is why I said "makes no fucking sense" as I walked outside. read more

Great food for a budget! Menu is easy to read and the staff is quick to answer questions. Major plus for their ability to make any burger a protein style instead of buns. They also bring out your food within 5 minutes of ordering. The only thing which would make them better would be if they offered soda water from the fountains. Also, parking is great but getting into the lot is harder than it should be as they are on a bad intersection which requires you to drive around to find their entrance. read more

Who knew that pastrami on a cheeseburger would be TO DIE FOR?? And at under $3.00 this place is a dream! Mushrooms were delectable, house Ranch was fresh and flavorful. This was my first time eating here and I didn't eat in-house but my boyfriend picked it up for me. If I had known they served breakfast I would have been back this morning after dinner from there last night. I only live two miles west of here but have never stopped in. Try to stop us now. What happened to the Pit Stop? The restaurant needs staff that takes care of the the interior. Clean the place up! The menu is decent but trying to eat on filthy tables and dirty chairs while also straining to see out dirty windows is totally unsatisfactory. read more

Elvia is the worst! Such a garbage person. First of all she got are order wrong then she argues with us. She then says we have to pay extra. We WERE regulars. We know what we typically pay. We pay it then she then says she would send it to us once ready. Nothing came after 15min. Continuously looking at our table and smirking. Nothing came, so we go back to register and ask for our money back. Overall worst experience ever. read more

I've been to this restaurant numerous times. The place has a cool interior, and i like the theme of the restaurant a lot. However, the food here is very greasy, and will make you nauseous afterwards. They have a wide variety which is nice, but honestly not the greatest tasting food. Super bland onions rings and all the fried foods of that sort. Their sandwiches are decent! Overall, nice staff and great open layout. read more

Hi... I'm not a huge meat eater but if you want the best pastrami sandwich...Look no further!!! Comes on your choice of bread, packed with the largest amount of pastrami that I've ever seen! It looks exactly like the picture shows, if not more! It is truly made to please the customer. Standard made is with mustard and pickles and it's heaven. They will make your sandwich to specs too, not a problem. I wind up bringing my other half home every time. It's like two meals and the price is more than fair which allows me to enjoy my delicious sandwich even more! There French fries are cooked to perfection (add on) and I love them too. Now I literally "crave" this sandwich! My BFF lives in S. D. and we always go to get our fix of pastrami! LOL I've had a few other dishes too which includes French Toast and it's always cooked to perfection along with burgers that you can get anytime day or night. This pastrami sandwich is soo good, I just can't resist it!!! I don't eat meat but this is a real winner read more

Place is under new management, and it's obvious. Pro: None Con: Major price increase across the board, burgers are 1/3 the size and veggie burger went from $3-4 to $10, tap water went from free to $0.50, they now have a credit/debit charge under the guise of convenience, leaky cups, smashed takeout boxes, place was empty & took 30 min, food was super soggy & cooked halfway.... If you're considering eating here... don't! It's not what it once was, and you'll be paying an arm & a leg for horribly overpriced garbage. This place had promise, but the new owners will eventually close because they have no idea how to operate a business... or cook anything edible! read more

Always love coming here! Great prices for great food. It's definitely a easy place to come to order your food and enjoy it. The atmosphere is fun with car memorabilia everywhere and that's what makes it unique. I love their fried mushrooms and their hamburgers. But the thing that sets them apart is if your a condiment person then you will love their ranch dressing. Amazing ranch dressing that makes your fries heavenly. Have never had a bad time here or bad food nor service. Sometimes if you go during a peak rush you may have to wait a little in line but it's definitely worth it if your looking for simple burgers, salads or hotdogs. Oh and they serve breakfast! All day! This place is pretty awesome!! I love 50's style diners and this one doesn't disappoint!!! This is a nice casual restaurant. Order at the counter and seat yourself and they bring you the food. There is plenty of tables for seating. Classic diner food, that is really good. Prices were not to bad. Great service!! The workers we dealt with were very friendly and welcoming. The decor is very cool!! Not to mention the coolest part a beautiful 1962 Chrysler New Yorker parked inside. Loved looking around at all the decor. They did a great job decorating. I've been coming here since as long as I can remember, whenever I was visiting my dad for the weekend. Now that I'm an adult and I've moved to Oceanside, this place is still a favorite! I always order from them when I'm at work nearby for lunch or when I'm too tired to cook dinner, and when I call in, foods always ready by the time I walk over. The two employees I've met are Hiba and Amir and they're both super friendly and helpful. They've started recognizing me when I come in now and it always feels nice to be a regular at a place that remembers you! read more

This place looks just like out of a old classic movie. Really cool decor it has everywhere. Stuff from the 50's and so on! Lots of seating areas and even for big groups! They have a old diner classic type feel! They have lots of options to choose from on the menu. Again a lot of classic food choices also. Their food portions are pretty big which is great and great for sharing. I had burgers and onion rings and French fries. Burger was good. *This review is for a one-time experience at breakfast* I really want to give this place 4 or 5 stars for the awesome decor, fun atmosphere and friendly staff. However the omelette that I ordered was just not very tasty. And that is the core of what any diner is about. The hash browns were too burnt, the vegetables tasted not the freshest and the cheese was just sliced sandwich cheese thrown on top. Also the prices did not trend towards affordable nor did they accept American Express. read more

Semi fast food with more choices and better atmosphere than a McDonalds. I was able to order a patty melt or I could have had pastrami on my burger. Generous helping of fries that automatically comes with a side of ranch. Plenty of seating that's good for a lunch group where the group can relax and enjoy an inexpensive lunch together. Great place to bring kids for burger or chicken strips instead of the tired fast food joint. They will think it's a treat simply because of the decor. read more

I couldn't believe it, My wife & I (we have fun :)) have FOUR kids so all six of us ordered a double-sized "The Wreck" (I will not explain this, you have to order it - I couldn't even get started on it at the resturaunt so now I'm eating it a day later and it SO FRIGGIN GOOD!!! We got so much... chili cheese fries (I'm a no-beans chili snob and their's was insanely good and SPICY!) Some lady commented that the chili wasn't amazing and that is crazy. I used to judge chili competitions and I can say that if you do like meaty, saucy, beanless chili it is PERFECT & AMAZING. It is (no joke) the best chili I have ever had. We had lightly battered sampler of golden-fried zuchini sticks, golden-battered mushrooms, onion rings... corndogs, sodas, lemonade, an incredible burger with swiss, mushrooms and jalapenos with crisp green lettuce... a REAL VANILLA MALT... I can't remeber what else -it all cost around $30 and not only were we stuffed but we brought home about 10 pounds of food wrapped to-go style for munching later (and the next day! :)) The cashier messed up a couple things but who cares!? The service from the staff was friendly of course, but moreso they were attentive and genuine, all concerned with my requests genuinely and not treating my like an issue... Easy 5/5 for Pit Stop Diner -- this place is just a fun, feel-good experience. Food-wise, it's solid diner fare with a huge range of American classics. I tried the chicken sandwich--it was good, more of that classic fast-food style, but compared to spots like Raising Cane's, Hot Chickz, or Dave's Hot Chicken in the area, it didn't quite stand out. That said, my friend ordered the chili dog and was absolutely in heaven (it's her go-to), so I'm definitely planning to come back and try something more recommended next time. The staff really stood out--super kind, attentive, and just a great group of young people working hard and keeping the vibe positive. Ambiance is where this place shines. It's genuinely fun--quirky decor, plastic hubcaps on the ceiling (had me joking they came from the busy intersection outside), and a lively, social energy. There was even a DJ setting up as we were leaving--He was super friendly and easy to chat with. The space is big, and they host private events too--there was a huge but low-key 70th birthday party going on while we were there. And even so we could easily chat. For context, diners usually don't excite me much (though I've always liked Corvette Diner), but this one surprised me. Pit Stop is a casual, car-themed diner that is a fun spot to grab a quick bite. Expect prices on par with fast food chains, but a little more ambiance. The theme is well executed with walls covered in license plates, road signs, and memorabilia. A vintage car is prominently displayed in the center of the dining area. Place your order at the counter up front and you will receive a number, then someone will deliver your food to the table. I am always impressed at how fast they are! There is a sign asking to pay cash (all small businesses prefer this) and an ATM for convenience. This place is large inside and could easily accommodate groups or birthdays. No Alcohol. No Pets. Family Friendly. The menu consists of hamburgers, hotdogs, sandwiches, and milkshakes. The portions are good, especially for the price. I always order a cheeseburger, fries, and an oreo shake. The cheeseburger has lots of toppings and a thin patty. This is probably not the best choice for a meat-lover, but they have enough options to accommodate most preferences. "Where's the beef???" I was curious about the size of the burger so I asked the cashier, I appreciate that she was honest in telling me that the hamburgers are "very thin" lol She is right. If this place put as much energy into they're food as they do their decor - business would be booming. I went during lunch time and I was 1 of 3 customers, not a good sign. You know it's never a good sign when the food is over salted and over seasoned....a sign that they don't use quality ingredients. 7 hours later, both my husband and I still feel dehydrated....the food is loaded with salt - this comes from someone who Loves salty food - ouch, that' s saying something. Based on reviews about the food, I was expecting home made onion rings, not the case, another food item that was over seasoned and tasted very bland. You get what you pay for here, the low prices match the low quality food. This place ought not call itself a "Diner". Some Diner's across the country have rock'n food. My friends actually thought it was a barber shot. I know if they change their name or advertise more or showed more of it being a diner they would get more business. There are a bunch of food options, all made fresh. The food is great with fresh flavors. My friends and I shared a banana split (great to share). I also got a banana malt that was fantastic! The customer service was very friendly and helpful. They helped me decide on what I wanted by recommendations. The scenery was very colorful and inviting. They have a very cool old school car in the middle of the diner and licensee plates all over the wall. There is plenty of seating and every table is different. Every time I come with my friends, we sit some where different to look at all the different tables filled with photo's and maps. I recommend this place to everyone I no! We love this place and even decided to have our car club meetings there (on the second Tuesday of each month) in the big meeting room in the back of the restaurant. The food is great and prices are very reasonable. The decor is car themed and it is a fun place. A '62 Chrysler New Yorker sits proudly in the dinning room, license plates and hubcaps decorate the walls and you could spend a week there and not see all the cool decorations. Jim the owner knows the restaurant business and is the perfect host. His staff is friendly and the food is comfort food. Come by on the second Sunday in the afternoon and there is a free car show (except October, Jim heard about Rancho Buena Vista High School having a car show that day and canceled his). Been here a few times keep wanting to give it a chance because their selection seems to be pretty good. The people are decent here but the food is just plain BAD. If you're looking for that low quality, high price, make you sick every time you eat it food, then you've found your place! The only food that doesn't make us sick here is their ranch dressing. Yeah the dressing is good but everything else is just not worth the stomach ache or the cash. Beware of their breakfasts!! We were both sick for almost a week because of their breakfast burritos!! This has no 50s diner feel to their food. It's as if McDonald's expanded to diner take out. Old food just reheated and tastes like it's been sitting out all day... Bleh! Gross! No more chances we won't be coming back everything sucks... except the ranch dressing. read more

One word: AMAZING! Everything from the nostalgic 1950's decor to the delicious food. Everything is amazing. Prices are very affordable and the food always hits the spot. Some of my favorite menu items are the Bacon Avocado Burger, The Wreck Breakfast Wrap, 4x4 Burger, and their Pastrami Sandwhich. But my absolute favorite food from Pit Stop is their Fries! I love the seasoning on their fries. I recommend Pit Stop to everyone. I always bring my out-of-town friends and family there and they love it. And the service is great. Everyone there is always friendly. If you haven't been to Pit Stop yet, I think its about time you do. read more

Keep in mind that this place is a traditional diner, so the food is simple and American. With that being said, it's GREAT quality food! The prices are amazing, and there is tons of cool stuff to look at while you wait for your food. It's a local spot, so it gets pretty packed after church on Sunday's, after youth sports on Saturdays. You have to wait in line to order, so if you can't be standing for too long or if you are impatient, you should definitely hold off for a weekday. To me, it's totally worth the wait on the weekends! We get the chilli cheese fries, a burger with an egg, and the turkey avocado sandwich. read more

I love this place.....their food is just plain good and the prices are great especially when you have a family of 4. the Good.. The place is huge so its great for groups, menu is priced well so its affordable, i've tried quit a few things on the menu and liked everything... so happy this place is surviving the last few businesses in this location went under in months...Congrats! The Bad... the only recommendation i would make is to add some kind of arcade or game area for the kids, they host so many fundraisers and events and the kids just run wild in there. read more

This place reminds me of Legends diner in Glendora. Pit Stop is a nice Car/Automobile themed restaurant that serves up solid comfort food. I'm glad they serve breakfast all day and they have a cool kitschy vibe. We ordered the patty melt and chicken fried steak with two eggs and hash browns. They serve up a good patty melt but the chicken fried steak gravy was way too bland and the hash browns under cooked and mealy. Maybe I'll have better luck with their burgers, and according to the pictures looks fantastic. read more

Everything is made from pre-cooked, frozen, poor quality food. Flash fried mecca if you want. Nothing is made fresh, and there are no fresh ingredients. Its a glorified in-n-out burger that uses way too much salt. Everything we ordered was bland and boring. Also, the staff is just working to work. Nothing to write home about. We came here because the reviews were awesome, but we did not have the same experience. Maybe next time. read more

Ordered a sandwich. It came without cheese, without thousand island, without pickles, without onion. Just lettuce and tomato. Seriously? Menu says all sandwiches come with these ingredients but when I complained to attendant she informed me that my sandwich as well as a few others are "different" from the rest of the menu. The owner of this restaurant is obviously amateur lol. Good luck with the over priced garbage!! read more

Wow! Amazing food! I am always super pleased with the service and the prices. This diner has a great vibe and I love all the auto collections. I've been here many times for lunch and dinner. Sometimes just for a milkshake. All of their food is great! I have yet to find anything that I don't like off their menu. My favorite is the Pastrami Sandwich with french fries. I often take my kids here for a quick bite to eat, whilst it looks like a Dennys and offers really cheap food, it's always really good! My kids favorite is the French Toast, I love the breakfast menu. Friendly staff, and overall fast service. If you're looking for basic, affordable food on the run, try this place out. You know a business is great when no matter what time you go, they have a line that develops from loyal customers :) Prices are great, always able to get a meal for less than $5 that is filling. For food conscious people, they have vegetarian options and can substitute just about anything. All ages can find something to eat as well, kids and grandparents! My husband, son and I love to come here. The service is great and quick, other companies should take note. The food is priced right to feed the 3 of us we always spend under 20 bucks which is a plus and it is good food. The decor is fun and car themed and we love it. If you are in the mood for a burger, shake, some awesome fried sides, a salad or hot dog this is the place for you. read more

Our family loves to go the the Pit Stop Diner! The kids love the classic car they have in the dining area and checking out all the license plates on the walls. The food is good and is prepared pretty quickly. I usually only get hamburgers and fries so I can't comment on any of their other food. I'm sure it's good though... read more

I've been here about three times, and each time I have not been disappointed! Their milkshakes and quesadillas in particular are amazing,. The quesadillas are as big as your head and if you have a cheesy craving they fit the bill. I was also really happy with their patience and costumer service. I definitely come here again! read more
