I had these guys listed on one of my food places to try while venturing around in Brooklyn. Thank you Yelp for helping me find some places to try/venture to for my first trip out here in Brooklyn! When it came time to check out a NY bagel spot, I decided to give this place a shot. My husband and I had the morning to spend some time and venture out before he was summoned for a wedding (and because he was in the wedding party). Pio bagel was not bad - at least my order wasn't. My husband ordered their Chorizo egg and cheese sandwich special and I got their Lox Supreme special (obviously choice to select for a first-timer). They were quick to getting our orders in and checking out. They do have limited seatings in the place, so be aware of that. Um...other than that, everything else was pretty good. Highly recommend their Lox Supreme bagel (Everything bagel, toasted) if this is your first time in the area and love lox spread as much as I do! read more

My favorite daily breakfast spot! Fast, convenient and fresh. Great service and cozy neighborhood ambiance.

Ordered a bagel from here on doordash today. There was a piece of trash wrapped in hair that was wedged in the middle of the bagel. I feel severely unwell and am very concerned about the quality standards. Check your food before you eat it! read more

Pio Bagel - Hairball and literal trash in the middle of my bagel - Bagels Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

I stopped at Pio on my way from a hotel to another hotel, deciding that I must have a NY bagel while there and hoping it would be a good one. It was. I chose a Lox Supreme on everything bagel, and it came loaded thick with cream cheese, plenty of smoky lox, capers and red onion. It was cut in half, and wrapped up well. It was so good. And worth the almost $10. I pondered coffee, but saw that no one else in the semi crowded small shop ordered any, and most had a cup in hand from somewhere else. So I have to think it's known to not be good. I'd love to try more of the cream cheese flavors and bagels, which if the sign is to believed, are made fresh in house. These are good, and I really enjoyed it. But.... it tasted a lot like what I get at various places at home, so I may just not understand the hype enough of the famed NY Bagel. Or, maybe they've just successfully spread. read more

This is my Go-To Bagel spot for breakfast when downtown Brooklyn. In an area so dominated with fast food chains and Delis this is a breath of fresh air. What brought me in was the amazing variety of fresh bagels and cream cheese spreads GALORE!!!!! Recently I discovered the Tofu Scallion. I'm a BIG Scallion cream cheese fan. This is the reason I haven't converted to a Vegan. I love cream cheese ! The service here is excellent and the nice young lady whose the cashier is awesome. This was my 2nd trip and I was a satisfied customer. read more

Their gluten free bagels are not truly gluten free -- I got very sick shortly after eating here and was vomiting on the side of the road. I've had Celiac for 10 years and this place is not gluten-free or celiac friendly. If you have an allergy to gluten, avoid their bagels! read more

Really good bagels and friendly staff members. I found this place while searching for gluten free options. The have a gluten free bagel which is amazing, and it actually taste like a normal bagel. They have plenty of cream cheese options as well! But I'm not sure if these bagels are really gluten free, I kind of question it. I've tried the bagels a few times and tbh I don't feel very well afterwards. I wonder how and where they produce these bagels? I'm giving this place 4 stars because the regular bagels are amazing and service is quick. The shop is pretty clean as well! read more

Delicious bagels but overpriced they charge you over three dollars for a bagel butter and when I'm working in the city I pay $1.95 for the same order so obviously these people are taking ad advantage of their customer's and I just ate this bagel and happen to notice there's some green mold in the bagel I hope I don't get sick from these idiots SMH ‍ read more

My go to bagel place in this neighborhood. This is a hole in a wall place, that looks like a mixture of a bodega and a grocery store. There are some tables and chairs to sit at in the store. But it does become very loud as the lines build (bagels here are popular). The restaurant sells all kinds of bagels, poppy, everything, salted, the rainbow bagel etc. They also have a wide variety of cream cheeses to choose from. Also have hummus and avocado if you're not i to cream cheese. I got a rainbow bagel this time. I had it plain because I wanted to taste the rainbow. Great bagel! Overall a local favorite. read more

The gluten free bagel with olive cream cheese and tomatoes tasted great the first time. It was not gluten free, as I and all the neighbors on the way back to the hotel learned. CELIACS RUN AWAY FAST. read more

Great place for breaksfast. Assorted including vegan cream cheese. Breakfast sandwiches made to order. Fast and delicious. This is a typical bagel/deli shop. Stopped in late afternoon for a dozen bagels to bring back home while visiting from out of town. The service was great, very friendly and fast. The bagels were outstanding but don't do what I did and wait until late afternoon, the selection may be limited. I was fortunate and got exactly what I wanted but I cleaned them out. I'd highly recommend this spot for anything you're looking for bagel or deli wise. read more

As a visitor, not sure what is expensive for food, but I felt like this place was worth what I paid. Didn't try anything custom or off the menu unfortunately, but got my own food and paid by the weight. Spanish rice, wings & steamed veggies. I passed by and was intrigued this place made bagels onsite with a Latin twist. Staff was friendly. Service was good. The food was just average and the coffee tasted watered down. They were generous with the lox but it didn't have any taste. The flavor just wasn't there. read more

Food is good but I was in a rush so I ordered online and someone walked out with my bagel. They made me wait about 10 minutes before helping me with that and then refused to answer whether I could get a refund. I still have no answer on my refund and I'm annoyed (and inconvenienced). read more

I ordered a pumpernickel bagel with scallion cream cheese. Everything went smoothly until I got to eat it. The scallion cream cheese has jalapeños is it. The gluten free bagels are absolutely NOT gluten free. I've had them multiple times and while they taste delicious, I've gotten sick every time. It's really disappointing that they would falsely advertise this, but if you have a gluten allergy or celiac I would not recommend Pio at all. read more

Well....it tasted great going down, BUT my bagel was DEFINITELY not gluten free. My stomach did not feel well after eating my "gluten free bagel" that looked and tasted much like a gluten one. I called in a huge order for about 9 people in my office. The guy who answered the phone was super patient as I rattled off all the specifics. I asked to pay with my card and he said no problem at all. With such a big order I expected to wait at least an hour for delivery but it was here in 30 mins. The delivery guy was super smiley and nice But the best part is when I opened the bags! Everything was neatly packed up and the drinks were secured in a carrying tray. And EVERYTHING was labeled!!!! Exactly as I ordered it!!! So I didn't have to unwrap everything to figure out who gets what. Sandwiches were hot and iced coffee was iced. This is def gna be the new breakfast spot for our office read more

This place has definitely fell off in the last few months. Coffee was very watered down and weak. Flat whole wheat everything bagel with lox spread...bagel was not made today. Cream cheese ...did not have that cream cheese texture or taste. Lox was not even smoked salmon tasted like blanched flavorless salmon. Customer service at 11 ish in the morning no. A tuesday did not exist...it was very much let me throw this order together and take his money. read more

This was my first time in Brooklyn. My friends took me to their local bagel shop. We came early on a Saturday, so there really wasn't a long line. There's a TV and some space for sitting and eating if you don't want to take it with you. I ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. I had it toasted and my friends did not toast their bagel. It seemed to take a lot longer for toasted, so much so that we almost thought we were forgotten. I guess it was because it wasn't that busy. We wouldn't have thought twice If there was a long line of people waiting. They also offer smoothies and coffee, but we took our bagels back to the apartment, so I didn't get one to go. Overall the service was great, the bagel tasted fantastic, and I would definitely return to try the smoothies and the cream cheese spreads. They even had a an avocado cream cheese that was enticing! read more

Everytime I go to this location, they ask me if I want my bagel toasted and I say no, cause I don't like how the cream cheese melts and I know they make the bagels fresh anyway and Everytime, they still toast it and worst part is they don't spread the cream cheese on the entire surface of the bagel and Everytime, it's such a small amount of cream cheese, I had to stop going cause I already gave them a few chances. Also, the kids that works there seems to be having too much fun and maybe that's why they mess up my order all the time. The only good part of this place is their drinks from the fridge. read more

My favorite gluten free bagel that I've had in New York! I had to wait a bit for it, but it was completely worth it. I wish Pio wasn't so far from me, but any time I am in the area I will definitely be going back! read more

I have eaten here twice in the last couple weeks. Both experiences were A-OK. The first was a delivery through grub hub. We had a breakfast sandwich and an omelet. The breakfast sandwich was not bad. The omelet was pretty good. The coffee had sugar already inside, which was disappointing, but not the end of the world. The main issue was that apparently the grub hub payment hadn't gone through, so I had to call and pay over the phone. The hassle was really based around the store having no record of the order at all. The person on the phone seemed surprised that his delivery person was at my door. Either way, we figured it out. Then a few days later, I went to the store to pick up bagels. There were 4 or 5 employees running around, but none seemed be taking orders from the two of us in line. We must have waited 10-15 minutes. The bagels themselves are fine. Like most NY bagels, they are better than average in the bagel world, but they don't stand out in the NY scene (in my opinion). In conclusion, no reason to avoid this place if you need a bagel. For me, A-OK. read more

I work nearby and never come to this place and now I know why. I was in the mood for a bagel for lunch. I came in at 11:35am so it was not busy at all. Flat everything bagel, scallion cream cheese with tomato. He repeated my order back to me. My bagel was ready 30 seconds later. The bag was stained with chunks of cream cheese, not cool. I left and ate my lunch elsewhere, noticing that the tomato was missing. Howwww in the 30 seconds it took you to make my bagel did you forget the tomato even after you repeated it to me?? Cream cheese portion was chintzy and not spread evenly. And the bagel itself doughy and gross. The only redeeming factor was the everything seasoning on the outside. Not coming back read more

I was in the catering business for 17 years. Usually I'd make my own trays and sandwiches, this year - time was against me. I called Joey over at Pio bagels for a 3 foot American, Italian and Chicken Cutlet with mozz and peppers... to say I was impressed, I was blown away by the quality and freshness of everything. The bread was fresh, soft and perfect... the cold cuts thi boy sliced and had the perfect amount - not your typical weighed portions... and the price was incomparable... To just see them as your local bagel store breakfast spot is simply short changing yourself and your family. I highly recommend the bagel wheel sandwich platters, I'll never waste my time again doing it myself. You can privately message me if you have any questions. Jay Pintus read more

A very good cheap breakfast spot. I usually get the bacon egg and cheese on a cinnamon raisin bagel. Occasionally I'll get a large freshly squeezed orange juice which runs about $6.50. Solid 4 stars for food but service is reaalllly lacking here. I'd say that our order is fully correct maybe 50% of the time that we go there. It's kind of fun sometimes - like a little surprise when you get home and open that paper bag. For example, today my husband ordered turkey sausage and got sliced turkey instead! Also, if you order online, you still have to wait in the normal line and then let someone know that you're there before they start preparing the order. Haven't found a better bagel place for the price in this vicinity, so guess we'll keep sticking it out... read more

Very happy to have such a solid bagel shop in the downtown Brooklyn neighborhood. I've tried others over on Court Street and the bagels were much too doughy.
