This place's bagel are very unusual - the outside is crunchy like a cracker. And the inside is chewy but not like airy. The cream cheese was actually pretty good and feels like they put something. They don't toast bagels there

A small to-go place with quick service. The bagels were not good, very dense and chewy. They do not toast the bagels. The scallion cream cheese wasn't really heavy on the scallion and the lox was fine. The prices are similar to other bagel shops in the area, $12 for bagel with lox and cream cheese, $5 for sausage and egg on a bagel. Overall, there are definitely better bagel places in the neighborhood.

The Bagel Hole (aptly named) is a local, hole in the wall, delicious spot for a grab and go bagel. No frills, no toaster, just good bagels. There can be a line out the door of the teeny storefront on the weekends, but it tends to move quickly and I would say the bagels are worth the wait. Very affordable too! The bagels have a nice crispy crust, a nice chewy texture, and most impressively I think the flavor itself is very tasty. Good and salty! I love how salty the everything seasoning blend they use is. Worth noting - the bagels are on the smaller side. In the warm months there is a makeshift outdoor space to enjoy your bagel, but really it's a takeaway spot. I would recommend getting a bag of bagels to go and making a bagel sandwich yourself at home, especially if you like a toasted bagel. Definitely my favorite bagel spot in Park Slope, and one of my all-time favorites in the whole city!

The service is quick and efficient, though don't expect too much chitchat--Bagel Hole is all about getting you your bagel fix fast. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality, making it a great value.

Small, but mighty bagel. I will make this review brief because of how tiny the bagels are here. Bagel sandwich is neat. Bagel is good. Crunchy exterior chewy interior. The fillings are fresh. $11 is a good price for cream cheese and lox. Short walk from the 7th Ave station on the F/G. You know you have something good when a pigeon is trying to grab it while you are eating it.

Great fresh bagels from the best spot in Brooklyn. They don't have a toaster so don't even ask. Just enjoy them hot with melted butter. They may be smaller than the giant puffy bagels sold elsewhere but just remember that these are normal size and taste 10xs better.

I'm not even sure how this place passed a health inspection. There was dirty freezer water dripping into the cream cheeses and tuna. The service was good. I took one bite of the bagel and the egg tasted old. Really disappointed after reading all the hype that this is the best bagel in NYC. It's a no from me.

A friend got me a bagel from this place. The Bagel is soft and crispy both at the same time, got it with cream cheese, salmon, and onion. not sure if the place was busy? cuz when i check my bagel, the stuff in the bagel was unevenly place. seems like they just throw everything on it, wrapped it and Bye type of thing. Taste: okay Environment: unknown Price: $$

Laid out on my counter, waiting to get sliced and frozen.

Bagel Hole is one of the best bagel shops in the area. Plain bagels were tasty. Lots of salt on the Everything bagel. Long long line.

I think their bagels have a nice equilibrium between dense and chewiness with a glossy hard exterior.

As far as the customer service goes I wish it was a bit better. The staff aren't the most pleasant. No good morning no acknowledgement of comprehending what you order they just walk away and start the order. Which is why I double check always. I do notice they speak more pleasantly to other customers that come in. Not sure if it's a culture thing or could they be discriminatory but it's a bit unsettling. Food: 3.8/5 I only order the poppy seed bagel and that's pretty tasty. Not to doughy although I do have them take out a good portion of the bread because I like it to be extremely thin. Ambiance: 3/5 Standard & basic bagel shop set up. Standing & waiting area is basic they have counter tops should you want to stand inside and eat nothing fancy. We wanted to try something different after having explored so many of the typical places in Manhattan and Shelsky's came highly recommended While I was expecting a long wait on a Saturday mid-morning, I was pleasantly surprised to find the establishment with only a few in line before us. Now, I was desperately seeking a very simple belly lox with schmear, but much to my dismay, they didn't have any more belly lox. I was heartbroken and had to figure out a plan B While I pondered, the family quickly ordered a Peter Shelsky, a Great Gatsby, and a Fancy Pants. I crumbled in my panic and jumped in with another Peter Shelsky. We also tried a small amount of whitefish salad and a beet/thyme salad The service was quick and we were able to grab two of the three small tables at the front to enjoy our fare. Soon we were digging in and from the immediate silence, I could tell everyone was enjoying their choices. The bagels were on the smaller side, denser with a firm crust. We did enjoy the bagels, but I could see how someone not familiar with this style may find them too "cardboard-y" I have to say, the pickled herring on the Peter Shelsky was fantastic, but was way too overpowering for the nova and sable. I actually regretted my choice and would order something more sunken next time. (Or get to the store earlier to beat the rush for the darn belly lox!) The beet salad was quite a nice balance to for the bagels adding a bit of brightness. The whitefish salad was solid - a hint of smoke and a creamy puree. Some who prefer a chunkier whitefish salad might find this less than satisfactory, but the flavors were great A cure store, friendly and patient staff, a great first exposure to Brooklyn for the boys. We'll be back (and we want belly lox!!)
