How does this stupid place charge $8 for a burnt bagel with BLT? Burnt food is a serious danger to health as body can't digest and absorb it. Waiting in line and the preparation of the food takes forever. The worst part is there is no wifi. The employees are loud and inattentive. The TV service is terrible. This place reeks. They have can sodas which contradict the healthy vibe that they give with their gluten free bagels and salad bars. Everything stinks in this store because no one cleans after themselves. Hands down, best gluten free bagel I've had in NYC! I've had a few breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches and salads and everything has been delicious. I have celiac and have yet to have a bad reaction to any of the food there. They also use Boars Head meats which are GF. I work nearby and have been coming regularly - the portions are so large that most of the time I can't finish my salad, or save half of my breakfast sandwich for lunch. tl;dr: bagels were okay, more on the firm side. Variety of cream cheese options, but nothing exceptional. We stopped in for an early morning breakfast. Their breakfast deals are a little misleading: deal involved coffee with bagel and cream cheese, although they didn't make it clear that both the bagel and cream cheese have to be plain in order to get the deal. Hubby ordered the cinnamon date cream cheese, but he found it to be unmemorable. I had the olive cream cheese and an everything bagel with lox. Again, pretty standard, nothing impressive. Back home, this would come with red onions and capers, so I was a little disappointed. Overall, prices are very reasonable. My boyfriend and I decided to grab a quick breakfast at Pio Bagel. It's probably the worst breakfast experience I've had in Brooklyn. Yelp required that I leave at least 1 star and that star is probably only for their decent bagels. However I wish I could give negative 10 stars for the RUDE ATTITUDE and DEAD CRICKET in our potatoes. It was around 10 am so not necessarily around breakfast rush. We gave our order to the lady behind the counter and sat down to wait for our order. 20 min passed and I noted that people who arrived after us already left with their orders. My boyfriend went up to the counter to ask if our orders were and the lady rudely said "your order have been sitting here." Not once did anyone called out that or order was ready. They just left it next to the cashier and forgot about it! When we opened his veggie omelette container and realized they left out the breakfast potatoes I had him go ask for it. The lady then rudely and loudly said to her coworker "he said he didn't want any" before she went to the back to grab some potatoes. First, this is completely untrue as my boyfriend never turns down food. Second, we understand it was a misunderstanding but there is no need to rudely embarrass a customers. Glad that we finally get to eat our breakfast we started chowing down when I found a dead cricket in our potatoes!! My boyfriend and I are not confrontational people and we have been polite the entire time with the establishment despite their unnecessarily attitude. We threw our food away and left. This establishment does not deserve an A grading from the Health Department due to its uncleanliness and definitely not 3.5 stars in Yelp due to the employees' rudeness. I LOVE their bagels. Haven't found a better bagel place in all of NYC. When toasted, their bagels are so soft. And they provide a good amount of cream cheese. But recently they've been getting my order wrong. Out of the 10 most recent times I've been there, it's been wrong like 5 times. Correct bagel, wrong type of cream cheese. Sometimes they give me a cream cheese that looks similar to the one I ordered, other times they completely drop the ball and get a cream cheese that looks nothing like what I ordered. This place is aaaright. I usually go for an egg and cheese on an everything bagel. I will say the everything bagels are a little too salty for my taste. Beyond maybe over salting their bagels, Pio Bagel is a pretty standard bagel place, which in my opinion you can't really go too wrong with. They have a large selection of cream cheeses and bagels baked on premises. I've also discovered you can get omelettes or pancakes during breakfast time. If you eat meat, which I don't, there are a lot of selections of sandwiches, including your standard lunch meat, chicken cutlets and egg with breakfast meats like bacon and sausage. The service is pretty quick, even during the lunchtime rush and there is a nice little seating area where you can enjoy your food. Prices are reasonable, which is always appreciated, especially considering many of the surrounding restaurants are more expensive if you want to grab breakfast or lunch. read more

I've come in here a couple times for bagels, spreads, desserts (sprinkle & chic chip cookies), and coffee. So glad they opened up! Today I went in for a sandwich. I saw that they had roast pork. I haven't had a roast pork sandwich from a deli in forever. All I wanted was roast pork on rye with a touch of mayo. Apparently Katrina makes the best roast pork sandwiches so her coworkers deferred to her. AHHHmazing. She was super nice too, telling me her ideas for the sandwich and then asking me what I wanted. The quality was pretty nice overall, however I felt that the staff was rather unfriendly and not really helpful if you weren't sure what to order (the options are rather overwhelming). The food was good and inexpensive, which is why I went in the first place so I'm not disappointed. Came to visit NY for a week, and found this place maybe two blocks from my hotel. I ended up going here every day for the last three days of my vacation. The bagels were fantastic and much better than I'm used to, but my favorite thing by far was the cuban sandwich(upgraded to deluxe). The deluxe in itself would be a great deal even if the cuban was just average, $10 gets you a large sandwich, more than enough fries for two people, and a drink. I've had a lot of cubans where you can't taste the marinade on the pork, but here it was pronounced enough to make the sandwich perfect.
