I went to this restaurant with my husband and another couple. This was really not my first choice as I was craving a steak. We had enjoyed Molon Lave winery and missed our reservation at another restaurant. So....we choose this place as we were able to get a reservation. This is a FANTASTIC Thai restaurant! Hands down, the BEST coconut milk soup and Pad Thai. The next time I'm craving Thai food, I will drive from Richmond, VA to this place! It is amazing! My daughter and son-in-law love Pinto Thai and gave me some recommendations on what to order. Was it a mistake I didn't follow their recommendations? This was only my second time having Thai food, so I'm definitely not overly familiar with it. We placed a pick up order of the Chicken Satay for ($7.00), Crab Meat Fried Rice ($20.00) and Crispy Pork Belly Krapow with spicy basil sauce ($20.00) with extra Chinese Broccoli ($1.00), extra cabbage ($1.00) and steamed white rice ($1.50) which was unnecessary because it came with rice and I did not see anywhere on the menu it said it came with rice. So $23.50 total for the Crispy Pork Belly Krapow with spicy basil sauce. Chicken Satay to me was pretty underwhelming in flavor and a bit dry. The peanut sauce was pretty good, but didn't have the 'Wow' factor. The sweet vinegar sauce that came with it tasted good on it's own, but didn't really add much to the chicken. Was I supposed to drink it? If so it was good! However I was having lunch with my younger daughter who enjoyed both the chicken and the peanut sauce, so I could be off about the chicken satay. My daughter ordered the Crab Meat fried rice which had a good amount of crab meat and crab flavor which was a good thing because we love crab meat and that was the only flavor it had. Definitely nothing wrong with it, just much different than the fried rice I normally get. I ordered the Crispy Pork Belly Krapow with spicy basil sauce, which I love the fatty succulence of pork belly along with the crispiness of the skin. Granted this was probably the wrong dish to order 'to go', because it's not going to stay crispy sealed up in a 'to go' box, so I will take the blame for the pork not being crispy. HOWEVER I will not take the blame for the pork being extremely dry, tough and downright old tasting. I tried several pieces in the event I got a bad piece or two. NO this pork was borderline gross. I had ordered Chinese broccoli (see receipt) and cabbage. I did not get Chinese broccoli, rather the standard broccoli, which isn't a big deal, but it not what I ordered. I did get a few pieces of cabbage which were pretty good. The rest of the vegetables were peppers and onions which were cooked fine with a tender crisp finish. I have to admit I ordered the 'Coward' spice level which was right next to no spice so I didn't order the least spicy! lol It had the perfect spice level which was a mild burn after each bite which I enjoyed. But where was the flavor? The nice spiciness was all of the lackluster flavor I got? The previous time I had Thai food the most enjoyable part was the Thai Basil, which I was expecting since this was in a spicy basil sauce. Does this sound typical of Thai food? Maybe I should have ordered what was recommended to me? But what I did order I personally was not a fan of, which was obviously not very enjoyable. My youngest daughter did enjoy the Chicken Satay and her Crab fried rice, but did mention the smell of feet when she tried my pork which convinced me it just wasn't me. With this review I'm not a fan, but due to the raving reviews I've gotten I will try Pinto Thai again and order the recommendations next time and give a follow up review. $56.21 for lunch read more

We especially enjoyed the papaya salad--better than what we have had at many a big city Thai joint. Spicy with just the right touch of sweetness. I have dined there twice and both times we experienced long times between stages of eating. Our last trip. We waited 45 minutes from the time we sat down to the time we received our food. Oh my goodness!!! This restaurant is the best Thai food I have eaten since traveling to Thailand in 2018. I spent a week in Thailand eating authentic dishes so after returning to the USA I was not optimistic of finding the same caliber of food here as I did there. When I looked at the menu options I automatically recognized dishes I've only seen in Thailand. Once my friend and I ordered the food was served in a similar fashion as it was in Thailand. Everything was DELICIOUS!!! The only issue we had was the spice level of the food. My friend asked how spicy a dish was and the server said on a scale of 1-10 it was a 2. When it arrived it was closer to a 7. I was able to enjoy the dish but my friend ordered something else. Overall I give this place 5 stars and I will be back soon! read more

We celebrated my Aunts 80th birthday here and the staff was so accommodating and friendly. We snuck in a cake and they were kind enough to store it in their refrigerator until after dinner. I had the Pad Thai set lunch. I am very picky about my Pad Thai and have never had a Pad Thai that is Bangkok quality until eating at Pinto. The noodles are slightly charred and chewy, the shrimp is cooked just right with a bounce on the bite and then tender. The chicken satay is dry on the outside and yet moist with just the right flavor and consistency to the peanut sauce. Surprisingly, wonderfully authentic, Thai food. read more

I've never had a bad dish here. Everything is good, though my favorite is the Pineapple Rice. Food is very fresh and delicious. Besides the food, though, their service is amazing. With the recent labor shortages, I can tell they are more short-staffed than they used to be, however I feel their service has continued to be very good compared to other businesses. They always go above & beyond to make the customer happy. I rarely have had issues with slow service, but anytime I did, they were super gracious and apologetic about it, which means a lot. The fact that they value their customers so much is what matters and really sets them apart! Most businesses do not go the extra mile like they do. I appreciate it very much! By the way, I love the online ordering option and hope they continue to do that. While my chicken based entree was sized appropriately, my wife's entree includes four nuzzles, three pieces of broccoli and shrimp and fish. She finished her plate and was still hungry, which is very uncommon for my wife. I noticed that her portion was very small; however, the seafood option she chose increased the price disproportionally.
