Ahhh Pinto Thai one of those places you just know will always be good and consistent every single time. I've been eating here for the past 5 years now if that says anything. The service is definitely consistent as well, it's not over the top but I've never had a bad experience. The ambiance feels warm and cozy inside, the booths make it feel easy to enjoy your meal. I will say the prices have definitely gone up over the years, but honestly... I haven't stopped going and don't plan to anytime soon. The food is amazing, the drinks are amazing, and the menu continuously grows. I hadn't been in town for awhile, and had a craving for Thai. So glad I did! I got the lunch special sweet and sour with tofu, soup, rice, and spring rolls. We finally got out to Culpeper and I was not disappointed. Holiday decorations were up and the place was so cute and festive. The bumble even greeted us the door!! Heard so many things about this place so we decided to make an hour trip out to finally try it. It's in a very cute historic area of Culpeper. We arrived and were warmly welcomed and seated. The menu itself is massive. It felt like a JcPenny Christmas catalog. Probably too many options, but I liked the variety. The food was very good but I will say the servers weren't very attentive after we made our initial order. I had to wait and make a hand gesture to get them to come over so I could order a second drink. I ordered a Long Island Ice Tea and when it arrived, there was literally NO alcohol in it. Luckily I was able to walk to the bar and they fixed it. Maybe they thought I wanted a virgin? Overall, a solid little spot that we enjoyed and would probably return to if we were in the area. The service was attentive and excellent. We opted for a noodle dish, a Thai fried rice dish, and a curry dish, all from the lunch menu. The curry dish was my favorite. The fried rice dish was good, but the chicken was a bit dry and was not too flavorful. The noodle dish was a bit lacking in broccoli. Very solid Thai food in the heart of Virginia. My wife and I stopped in for lunch on our way to Charlottesville. All Thai staples are here. I got the drunken noodles with chicken. My wife got the vegetable pad thai. Both were well executed and the portions were very generous. Service was friendly, welcoming and efficient. Let me start with the good. The Thai food at this restaurant is excellent! I couldn't make up my mind, so I ordered beef salad, pineapple rice and beef drunken noodles. All excellent. Portions were large too, as was the price. The robot was cute sang happy birthday to many patrons. Unfortunately, my whole experience was ruined at the end of my meal. The waitstaff was reaching over me to take my dishes and began pressuring me to pay my bill and leave a tip. I intended to do so, but was looking something up on my phone before paying. The waitress was standing over me, pointing to the credit card machine and telling me how much of a tip to leave and how to pay. I found it rude and disrespectful. Shame on you! I understand wanting to get tables free when it is busy or when people are waiting to be seated, but this was not the case. Pinto Thai - be mindful of your patrons and be patient with them. Overall, 4.5 stars Drinks - we got the grass jelly thai coffee and the Boba Thai tea. (We thought it was too sweet) Papaya salad was delicious and spicy... but not so spicy where you won't enjoy it. The eggplant and minced pork (forgot the actual name of the dish) was tasty and great paired with the white rice. The shrimp tomyum fried rice was well flavored and tasty. It's definitely a great dish. The drunken noodles with shrimp seemed al dente but seemed fresh (it was not the flat rice noodles I'm used to), but it was good. It was a tad too spicy for me, and I love my spice. It had both red and green thai chili peppers chopped up in it, and those definitely added the heat when eaten and made it spicy to me. It definitely made me feel the heat. The other salad we got (minced chicken) definitely forgot the name of the dish was just okay. We didn't like that as much as all the other delicious tasting items. The one salad and the overly sweet drinks were the only downside to the whole meal... Staff was okay, and they had the robot waiter bring out some of the dishes. Pretty nice experience overall. read more

I got to push tje button after getting my good to send home back to the kitchen lol. - tje Green Curry was smooth and delicious. I wish it had green peas and more bell pepper, but the chicken was good portion, I don't need a lot of it and the bamboo didn't iverwhelm the plate. Another favorite in Culpeper (I have a lot of those, but they're all so good). The lunch special is an amazing deal if you're looking to try some different items off the menu: it comes with your choice of a dish, wonton soup, spring roll, and chicken satay. Due to allergies and preferring vegetables over meat, they are always willing to accommodate me with the lunch special, which is much appreciated. They let me swap out the chicken satay for two spring rolls, and the soup I will get without the dumpling sometimes if I don't want meat that day. Speaking of the soup, their wonton soup is the best I've had at any Thai/Asian restaurant. That and the drunken noodles are always my go to. My husband is always pleased that you can pick the spice level (he opts for Thai spicy every time). All the dishes have been generous portions, flavorful, and service is prompt and enjoyable. Hands down the best restaurant in Culpeper. The food is amazing and fresh. The menu is enormous, with Thai, Chinese and other Asian influences. You can go healthy or indulgent. I highly recommend the duck roll appetizer and the crispy honey chicken entree. Enough for 2 portions, for sure! My parents are obsessed with the fresh and flavorful pad Thai and the specials are incredible. Hardworking, friendly faces greet you with incredible service each and every time. We arrived on a busy Saturday around 6:00. We did not have a reservation, but they had a table available. They apparently have a thriving take out business as well as dine in. All the staff were very polite, and the service was above par. There is a cute robot that delivers the food to your table, and then a wait person serves you. Pretty neat idea! The tables are wood, and ours was very sticky. Our table was divided by clear glass, so another couple had half the table. It's a little awkward as you can hear each other's conversations as well as have a clear view of each other. The menu is extensive - and also very sticky. We were surprised that the pricing (food and adult beverages) was as high as it is - in Culpeper? There is a full bar, and a lackluster, although expensive, wine list. Think Robert Mondavi. On the bright side, the food was delicious. Very fresh and tasty. My spouse got the Massaman Curry with Shrimp. The shrimp were nice sized with large chunks of potato in a yummy sauce. He ordered the meal with a heat of 2 (which is standard), and it was not very spicy at all. He said he'd up the ante next time! I ordered the Stir-Fried Ginger with chicken. It was all white meat and had one small bone in it. It was so good! The white rice that came with the meals was cooked perfectly. We spent $50 with tax and tip and no adult beverages. Passing through Culpeper, we decided to stop at this Thai restaurant right on the main drag. We were quickly seated, and ordered. The food came out incredibly quickly, almost disturbingly so. We ordered some dumplings for appetizers, which were out in just a couple of minutes. Our entrees, Royal Duck and a Curry were out only a couple minutes after we finished the appetizer. Both were great. The duck was nicely crisped, and served with a delicious sauce. I'll admit, the speed with which the food appeared was disconcerting. I've had longer waits for a McBurger, and it kinda makes you wonder how they're doing it. But, despite the good and fast food, this place lost me forever and quickly. I popped into the men's room after eating, and stuck to the partition for the toilet was this sign, picturing a man climbing over the position to peep at a woman. Ha, ha, so funny, right? So funny, that it's repeated on the door to the men's room, and so utterly hilarious that a gender swapped version exists in the women's room door (presumably inside, too, but I didn't check). Sexual assault in restrooms is a hilarious topic, right? It's SOO FUNNY that we need multiple signs making light of it, dismissing it, or candidly endorsing it.
