The sandwiches, the chicken salad and the ice cream are to die for. The owner is lovely. The service behind the counter is SO slow. It literally takes 20 minutes to make one sandwich. Please do better. I know this is a small town but my god, I have to mentally prepare myself to be in the shop for at least 20-25 minutes waiting on my sandwiches to be made. read more

Wow! These folks are like gypsies - lol! In just a little over one year they've moved yet again to a new location. Haven't visited them yet at this new location & do wish them well, but this new location unfortunately seems to be a death-knell for businesses, being out-of-town & in an area far away from business &/or foot/stop-in traffic ("Willow Shade", on the right, just north of town on Rte. 229 before you hit Ira Hoffman). It's been mostly vacant since its completion quite a few years ago. We'll surely visit them & hope folks do search them out, but I do feel badly for this new location. I have a biannual business trip to Culpeper where I am tasked among other things to organize lunch for approximately 20 people, and Deli-icious has become our go to over the past couple of years. I've sampled a lot of the local food in the area, and Deli-icious ranks up with the best of them with their quality salads and sandwiches. Their Reuben is a personal favorite. I've sent over a list of individuals, their orders, and an anticipated pick-up time three or four times now. The orders have been 100% accurate with nothing but praise from all consuming parties. Gayle has been extremely professional and accommodating, and we have no plans to modify this arrangement. Thanks Gayle! read more

As I get older and my yelping days come to a slow, I generally rate newer food places with the following scale: 1) Never coming here again 2) Eh... it's cheap and good, I'll come again. 3) This place is worth reopening Yelp, trying to remember what my password was, logging in and actually writing a review for. Deli-lcious is a great example of no. 3. Wife and I were stopping by Culpeper to grab something to eat after a trip. Stopped by this cute tiny deli in downtown Culpeper. You go in, you look at the menu of the sandwiches they have (good variety) plus they have soups and such that typically come with the deli culture. So yeah - basically that's all an introduction - the main chunk of this review is about what I actually ate: The Reuben. Order the Reuben. I loved the Reuben. Get the Reuben. Even if you hate Reuben, go reflect on your life and then order the Reuben here and eat it. It's all about the Reuben. It was seriously good - and yes - it was so good that if by any chance I'm in the 20 mile radius of this place, I WILL stop by to get the Reuben again. Get the Reuben. read more

Best place to get a sandwich in Culpeper. Amazing breakfast biscuits, croissants, and sub rolls. Quality ingredients and meats. They offer online and over the phone ordering, and delivery! I wish I tried this place sooner - will definitely be returning. read more

Being a purveyor of Boars Head meats and cheeses got my attention. I had the deluxe roast beef sandwich on ciabatta bread. Sandwich had about a half to three quarters of an inch roast beef on it which made me happy, I hate a skimpy sandwich. My wife had a panini which looked great. We had a side of pasta salad which wasn't extravagant, but it tasted good. Overall we enjoyed our first experience here, the food was fresh, well prepared and the staff was very friendly. Constructive criticisms would be the breads, I would look into bakery's in the northeast to set this deli apart from the local competitors. Terranova bakery in Bronx, NY would be my suggestion for amazing sandwich rolls. I would have rated higher if the bread was higher quality. read more

Found this place going on a road trip. Sandwiches made with fresh bread and loaded with Boars Head meats. Great service and friendly staff.

I finally made into this little deli in town today! I've seen it many times but haven't been able to get there during business hours. I had a wonderful chat with Gail. She made me their Smoke House Turkey on sour dough bread. It was amazing! Piled high with meat and tasty smoked Gouda cheese. I grabbed a soda and a bag of my fave Route 11 chips. Best lunch I've had in a long time. I will be a regular for sure! Come check them out! Great service and food in a local business...win win! read more

Fantastic little place, found it on Google Earth since were going to be down in Culpeper for the day. Gail was an absolute delight, and the sandwiches were wonderful, with VERY fresh Bread. Had my two Sons with me and we got a sandwich for my 86 year old Mother, who really loved it. Will be back for sure to try the ice cream and other items on the menu. I Was so disappointed to find the deli that was in this spot, Bella Mia's, had closed. I figured I'd give this new deli a shot. As per usual, there is no replacement for an original. Getting beyond the name, a ridiculous attempt at being clever, The Deli-icious, had about as much atmosphere as a hospital cafeteria. The previous deli had family pictures all over the walls - you felt like you were getting food from a family that was also yours. The cute candid family pictures have now been replaced by gaudy life sized cut outs of ugly children. Why would anyone want to look at horrible gaudy images of athletes while eating lunch? The food - I've eaten much better subs grabbed out of a refrigerator in an airport, a desperate attempt not to starve on an empty stomach and a bag of peanuts. The unfriendly staff was the nail in the coffin. I truly could have taken the bland decor, the bland crap sandwich, the bland name, but the staff just cried out "we should not be in the restaurant business". In the few times I ate at the former restaurant, I was so impressed by everything; This restaurant, this was the antithesis of everything I loved. Avoid this place at all cost! Despite it's small size, they had good selection of meats, condiments and cheeses. Vegetables were your standard deli variety but I suppose I'm the only weirdo that would want portabella mushrooms on his sandwich. I ordered a ham and smoked Gouda with lettuce and onions. The woman working, who I presume to be the owner, was very friendly and welcoming. The sandwich came with a plentiful serving of ham and 2 slices of Gouda as well as the veggies. I planned to eat it at home but after having a bite to taste it I ate the whole sandwich parked in my car. One of the best sandwiches I've probably had in town, kinda cheap too. Great food! Clean and safe. Parking is dicey... If you find a spot on the street out front don't exit on the street side or you won't need food ever again cuz' you'll be smushed into braunschweiger (Which they don't have). The fancy premium brand meats are no treat and only bring the prices up to a.... "I'll only eat there rarely level". I don't expect McD prices, but its just too rich for more than a monthly treat. read more

Love this place...best little deli I've been to as far as the food. My favorite sandwich is the Smokehouse..yum!! My family and I stop here every time we pass through on our way to Shenandoah:)...my son asks to go here every time he gets a chance...great friendly staff and gourmet sandwiches...seating inside is a little limited, but they now have a community park right next door with seating:)...or get it to go.... read more

I love to support local business in our small town. I have been wanting to try this deli forever, and finally did so this week. I had chicken salad on a white sub roll. The sandwich was good, but for these prices it should have been GREAT. At $7.99 ($8.89 with tax), one would expect a bag of chips or a pickle on the side, at the very least. Nothing. Plain sandwich, period. Yes, they use Boar's Head, and I get that. But, other delis/sandwich shops in town also serve sandwiches that actually are delicious, come with chips/sides, and cost around the same price and even up to $2 less. It's probably not appropriate to name names, but there's the meat market downtown and the big, new country store on 29--both of which have AMAZING food for much more reasonable prices. read more
