Just had the most delightful lunch at Frank's Dinner in Culpeper! I ordered the fried fish & shrimp, with curly fries. The waitress was attentive and offered to refill our beverages (my ice water and my friend's sweet tea) many times and checked on us as well. The fish was succulent, fried to perfection, flavorful and moist and served with at least four, and more likely 6 ounces of tartar sauce that didn't skimp on the diced pickles. Two lemon slices (one for the ice water, one for the fish) accompanied my meal. The meal left me feeling full, satisfied and satiated and I wont hesitate to return again in the near future. Their breakfast menu was very reasonably priced and my colleagues fried eggs, french toast and grits looked delicious. Excellent portion sizes at very reasonable and affordable prices. A pauper could dine like a prince at Frank's Diner! The diner itself is tastefully appointed and was not overly loud, despite being at above 50% capacity. Wood paneling with painted white wall board with some interesting décor added to the experience. We left our charming waitress a generous tip in line with the excellent service. This is one of the best restaurants in the charming small town of Culpeper and I would encourage everyone to try it. read more

Food prices are very reasonable. They serve breakfast until they close at 3:00 pm, which helps for those of us that like to sleep in on the weekends. Service is always good and fast, whether you have a to go order or dine in. read more

For my first visit, my review is a solid 3. The line of people on Sunday was nearly out the door. They were very busy. Mostly with what looked like to go orders but a lot of people to be seated as well. Also Frank's is Breakfast all day! -I dont stop for a lot of breakfast usually, unless they have chipped beef gravy. Otherwise I cook my own breakfast and go out for lunch or dinner. I saw Frank's on Yelp and it happened that I was right across the road. Off I went. - After being seated I ordered coffee. Then a couple min later, I ordered my food. They had sausage gravy and country gravy. Just to be sure, I asked the difference. Country gravy is sausage gravy without the sausage. I ordered the Country gravy with biscuits. Comes with two eggs and fried potatoes. When the dish was set in front of me I noticed right away it was sausage gravy. I don't like sausage but I didn't say anything. I just picked most of it out. Scrambled eggs could have used about 40 more seconds in the pan. Slightly runny Scrambled eggs. Potatoes were ok. An associate of Frank's came over and asked me how everything was. It would be easy to say everything is good then write a poor review,but I didn't do that. It was hard but I did advise the mistake with my gravy order and I did advise the eggs were rather runny. I told him I know this place was so so busy and they're new in town. I'm sure the kitchen was barely holding on. I'd like to come again. They have breakfast all day and a lunch menu. My order was under $11. Yes, Sir!.. Go give them a try. Be patient. And dress light. I didn't feel any air conditioning. It was hot, crowded, and crazy busy. read more

Wow! It was my boyfriend and I's first time trying this place and it was wonderful. The servers were attentive and the place was clean. I ordered the chicken tenders because I saw someone else order them and they looked awesome. She warned me it takes a bit longer to cook because they're home made and made to order. No issue there. My daughter and I went here today 10/5/2024 to have lunch! I was told the food was good! My daughter said her food was good, but mine was not! My fish I got was obviously frozen, burnt, so was my bread! Some of the fries were burnt as well! The tomatoes were green on the inside! I took a few bits of the fish and it was not good! The tartar sauce was like water! The girl took it back and asked what was wrong so I told her and she asked if I wanted anything else at no charge and I said no! I get to the register and it was 31.78 and I said why am I paying for food I didn't eat! So she said you ate it but didn't like it! First of all I gave the whole plate of food back! The food flavor is really good. I had a bacon cheeseburger, fries. The burger is fresh ground beef. This is very nice surprise. Fries are the normal. Plenty of bacon. Service is still working the kinks out for just opening, also the cooks. I watched other plates and the food looks really good. I will revisit in a month or longer to see if time helps the coordination out. One other item. Air conditioning was either on low or just could not keep up. It was very warm inside. This was by far our worst dining experience at Frank's. My husband loves to go there on Friday's and get their catfish. He loves it and goes every Friday when he can. He asked me if I wanted to go and I was apprehensive because it is not my favorite restaurant. I decided to go since we normally don't get to eat lunch together. I tried their pulled pork sandwich and it was nasty. It was full of salt and my husband asked if I could get something else. The girl said we could but we would have to pay for it since I took a bite out of it. We told her that we knew the owner and he always substituted something out if something was wrong. She said no because we could have asked for a sample. My husband texted the owner and eventually the manager came over and asked to make something else. We didn't have time for that at that point because my husband had a meeting to get to. They didn't take it off the bill either. Our waitress was terrible too. We asked for Diet Pepsi and we got regular Pepsi. My husband has issues with regular soda so he knew right away it wasn't diet. He asked for curly fries and got regular fries. She came a few minutes later and said she gave him the wrong order but he had already touched the food. She never came back to ask if we needed refills. If you are going for fish this is a great place to go. However, if you don't like fish, then this may not be the place for you. They do have a good steak and cheese sandwich but I had that for dinner so I wanted something different. Don't get the pulled pork unless you love salty pork. Or do as the girl said and ask for a sample before you get it. I had my husband try it to see what he thought and he agreed with me that it was nasty. It was the worst that we have ever had. Second time visiting in a week. Had the eggs, home fries, French toast, turkey bacon. Husband had pancakes and he is amazed at the flavoring of these pancakes. Better than IHOP. all was amazing. Orange juice was a bit on the sweet side. Coffee was very good. Worth the wait, comfortable countryside feel. We both will be back again. No pics since we ate it all in one bite. read more
