Shitty service and slow and we didnt even get are drinks and we have been sitting here for 10. To 15 minutes never coming back again

First off I ask for the manager to come over. Mind you I'm not someone to complain about my food like that but after the attitude of not really caring after finding hair in your cheese for your omelette .... Now on high guard looking over your food I find a hair in my water so I ask both to have my food and my water replaced as they just look at me in a lost look and just take the food away. Juana being the manager didn't take initiative and left here employee just looking at us lost. I don't understand if it's bad management or lack of comprehension on both ends. The service here sucks the waitress never remembers what you ordered and asked you details about your order but when you receive your meal, nothing you told her is with your meal and that she has to keep going back-and-forth multiple times for different things. IHOP in Culpeper has 50% of Senior Citizen meals on Wednesdays for a certain time. Well my 96 year old grandma went in there and ordered a meal and because she got water with it instead of tea or coffee they did not honor the discount. Please IHOP tell me why don't you let people know this prior to ordering AND another thing that is a dumb rule if I order a meal and I get water I can't get the discount. only valid for tea and coffee. Make it make sense...SMH!!!! You should if least honored the discount for her and just advised her that next time she would have to get a tea or coffee....not good customer service!!! read more

This is our second poor experience at Ihop. First experience was when the computers were down and apparently no one knew how to prepare a meal. Today and being fair it was very busy. It was another bad experience. I ordered the country fried steak and when received it was cold, overcooked And the gravy looked to be with lumps. They gave me a table to cut the steak and it was near impossible. They gave me a steak knife and it was very little improvement. I had mac & cheese and fries as a side, the mac & cheese was cold and the fries were very lukewarm. I was promised another mac & cheese, but finished our meals and it was never received. The salad and the meal were brought to our table at the same time. So we decided to take the salad home and discovered they had no bags to put our take-home items in. So the story here is don't go to Ihop when they're extremely busy. I will mention the waitress did very well, not her fault poor food preparation. read more

I got a classic burger with onion rings and the lettuce was wilted and the purple onion slices where like rubber. This restaurant has gone way down hill since the owner change. Service is horrible, the wait time to get served is terrible and the food is always sub par. Wouldn't recommend this particular ihop to my worse enemy. read more

Absolutely the nastiest food I have EVER had!!!!! Didn't know how to give the military discount, rude behind manager. Do NOT get the chicken and waffles it taste like fish, the steak was sweet for some reason. And the milkshake was warm in a cold glass. Absolutely horrible food and it taste like it was frozen not freshmade. Good note, the waitress was nice. But terrible food and I normally don't leave reviews. Wife and I went to IHop yesterday for an early dinner. She had an Omelet plate. They wouldn't let her switch her pancakes out for French Toast. This is an easy thing to do & don't understand why this. Now here is where the BIG issue was. I had the TBone stake plate. For nearly $20 you think you get a decent stake and I loaded mashed potatoes. Let me tell you, the stake was a $3 stake AT BEST. It was nearly paper thin. And it was luke cool. And it littered with gristle. The the serving of mashed mashed potatoes came in such a small bowl you could eat it in about three bites. I wasn't expecting a steakhouse type of steak. But come on. You charge $20 for this garbage. I can get a better steak at Waffle House for less than half of the price and plate of food to go with it that will fill me up. First of all their app is garbage. So I called. I did all the right things. I gave an accurate order. I gave plenty of time (35 mins). Food still wasn't ready. I stood in the lobby for ten minutes as customers came , got frustrated and left, because there was no service. Finally the order comes and its wrong!! It's IHOP, I'm not expecting gourmet. But they forgot my husbands short stack of pancakes. The server came to give the check and then when we told her about the forgotten short stack she was frustrated that someone else didn't bring them. It's not bad. The servers have always been friendly and even if they get the order mixed up they are quick to fix the issue. The food is ok but it's obviously not meant to be fine dining. My kids love it every time. Wouldn't recommend if they're really busy but definitely recommend when it's less crowded. read more

I am giving this IHOP 2 stars ONLY because on Fathers Day we went here and service was very good and food was almost perfect! AND they were extremely busy... it was Fathers Day!! Since it was so great and my adult children and grandchildren were treated well, and so were we, we all decided to go, again, the very next Sunday. Really expected a great time. Everything was different. My daughter in law was treated terribly and looked at by the person who seated them - and the server, as though she was from another planet. We arrived shortly after they did and 20 minutes later was approached by another person (?) and was informed our server would be with us very shortly. 20 minutes later a server came to our table to take our order. There were 2 other tables that had guest seated... servers and management walking around with nothing to do while we waited... The server introduced herself as if she hadn't seen us - though she already took my son's and his wife's drink order - and I was very upset. I was trying to keep things happy, I joked around a little and told the server we'd try and take it easy on her and then I placed my order first and then we proceeded around the table. 45 minutes later... no food was served yet... another 15 minute....no food. My husband got up and inquired and was told it takes time. 10 minutes later, we left and the manager stopped us in the parking lot and informed us our food was ready and they were ready to serve it... My son explained to the manager that we had been there on Father's Day and even when it was so busy and we had expected to wait a while for food, we had it within 20 minutes... and we had already been there almost 2 hours and we were going elsewhere. I felt this restaurant was very prejudice - my daughter in law is Asian and it is VERY sad when she is treated this way, even by the manager. We were all treated badly. She is the most loving and caring person I have ever met. We will never return here... and I love IHOP... but seems like this is becoming a normal for IHOP. read more

Food was good the one time I was here. However, it was my husband, friend, and I who went. We had maybe a $20-30 bill between all of us (I don't even know why it was super cheap). The waiter came up to us and said "I'm so sorry but I gave your bill to the table behind you and they paid yours, so you have to pay theirs." It was a table of at least 6 from what I could tell and their bill was $80. Are you freaking serious... What world am I living in that it's your mistake and you tell me I have to pay for another table of food I never ordered. Needless to say we all laughed and immediately said "no, fix it." My boyfriend and I can here for a late dinner since he had to stay later at work. We got to ihop at about 8:15 at night and there were only two tables sat so we were hopeful to get our food quick and leave. How we were wrong. They had three servers on the floor and what looked to be two cooks in the back. 3 tables walked in after us, and we all waited about 20 minutes just for the drinks. Then one by one all of the tables got their food, except for my boyfriend and I. No servers came to talk to us, and we ordered our food as soon as she got our drink orders. We order an omelet and chicken tenders with waffles. I work in the food industry, and I know how long is takes to cook frozen chicken tenders, throw some batters into a waffle iron, and use a flat top to make an omelet. There is no reason we should have gotten our food until 9:20 pm. I understand places are understaffed, but the least they could have done is let us know they were behind. No one came and spoke to us at all and the server wouldn't even look us in the eye as we asked for our food to be boxed and have a check rather than sit and eat any longer in this place. This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. I've never been to IHOP before, it was everything I thought it would be. It was dirty, service was bad and the food was terrible. They brought my son the wrong pancakes which had hair in it. When they brought the correct plate of pancakes, there was a hair in that too. My bacon was barely cooked, and I have never been more disappointed by a plate of waffles in my life. Our service experience was very bizarre, we were waited on by the restaurant manager so you would think we'd get star service...not so much. Food and drinks took forever to arrive, and it was gross. We've tried to give this IHOP a few tries, and unfortunately it's worse every time. This time our son was given a gift card and wanted to go so we decided we'd give it a try. The waitress brings the check and as we hand her the gift card proceeds to tell us the machine for gift cards hasn't been working that week but she'd try it, quickly she returns to tell us nope sorry still won't work. So I said it's probably a good idea to have a note on the door letting customers know you can't except gifts cards before someone comes in and that's there only option to pay. All of our silverware was so dirty we asked for plastic. We waited 45 minutes for our food that was barely warm. We ate listening to the crew in the back screaming and playing around. The waitress we had seemed distracted, because as my friend and I were ordering, she was looking around and commented, annoyed, about how the hostess seated 4 people in her section. We ordered our drinks (I had water with lemon and coffee, my friend got Splash Berry) and food and had to wait 10 minutes for our drinks to come to us. Our waitress forgot my water, and I had to wait an extra 10 minutes to even get my water. The wait for the food was well over 30 minutes and when it did come out, my friend's order was wrong. She ordered the build-your-own omlete- ham, cheese, bacon, hashbrowns and avocado on top. She ordered a side of Harvest Grain and Nut pancakes. The waitress came by, about 15 minutes into waiting for the food, to say that the kitchen didn't have the kind of pancakes she wanted. She ordered the Cinnamon roll pancakes. When our food came out, around 15 mins later, my friend's omlete came without avocado and they brought her plain pancakes instead of what she ordered. At this point, we had only seen the waitress once, even though we needed refills. The whole service was SLOW as heck. Waiting for refills, waiting for correct food and drinks, waiting for the check and boxes. To end the bad service, we encountered the manager, or so we think he was one since he was wearing a blue shirt and no name tag. We asked him to split the check for us, which he said fine. As my friend was telling him what she ordered, so he could split the check, he interrupted her and said, in a very aggravated and rude tone, "Give me that," and pointed at the check. My friend smiled and said "You guys seem a little overwhlemed," referring to the complete chaos that was the kitchen and dinning area. His response, in a VERY sarcastic and unprofessional manner was, "You think?!" From that point on, my friend and I were silent, stunned by the attitude this man had. I have been to this IHOP before and have had good, NICE waitresses and managers. This experience wasn't just due to one thing, it was the whole experience - from irritated and overwhelmed wait staff to the rude and arrogant manager. I was having a good morning so I decided to order food and I ordered food this morning for my family and I. I was taking my food home and I opened it up and I began eating I ordered bacon hash browns and buttermilk pancakes ... Once I started eating I found a piece of hair in my hash browns I didn't say anything I was being kind hearted and threw it out so I could eat my food. I found another piece of hair on my bacon! Stuck to my bacon! So I got upset and I called the Culpeper IHOP.. I spoke to a man named Doug and he disregarded my story and did not acknowledge my comments then he hung up on me. Then I became furious and called customer service for someone to retrieve my statement and acknowledge that my well-being matters. No one wants to eat hair and in the middle of a pandemic I was trying to be thoughtful by putting this issue in the dust. But the fact that I was disregarded and hung up on I was not happy with the service today that Doug has given to me. read more

I wouldn't suggest anyone eat here. Realized half way drinking my orange juice, and saw that there were lip marks on my cup. ( I was using a straw ). The service was poor, waited a good 25 mins just to get drinks. "Deep cleaning" they said. I thought that was done at night when there's not many people there to wait on. My waiter was nice and trying his hardest. Literally half of staff were running around cleaning and not really paying attention. My sister claimed her food was cold. I know I said that I'd never darken the doors of this specific IHOP location again, but after enjoying yet another wonderful free movie at the Library of Congress theatre ("Thunderball" with Sean Connery as good old James Bond) last night, we were peckish & looking to have something besides fast food after 10 p.m. So stopped in at IHOP (after a very long hiatus from the place), but vowing NOT to order anything that might have hit the fryer. There were just two other tables besides us, & it was obvious that the place had already been thoroughly cleaned & set up for the next day. Hubby had an American Cheese Omelet; I a Corned Beef Hash & Cheese Omelet - both with Buttermilk Pancakes on the side. One water; one iced tea - both with lemon. Everything was piping hot, properly cooked, & spot on. It actually was a nice fresh late-night meal. Server was friendly - promptly offering & then bringing hot sauce for my omelet; several fresh lemon wedges brought separately in a dish for us to add our own, etc., etc. Prices for omelets here seem to have currently plateaued at just shy of $10. All of the omelets were $9 & change. Still seems a bit pricey to me, but I do have to admit that both of our omelets were chock full of what they were supposed to be chock full of, & the pancakes were nice & fluffy. Bottom line: We'll be back. But I still will NOT order anything that might even marginally have come in contact with a fryer. . . . read more
