Had the best waitress Tiffany and I had the fish and my hubby had the salmon and all was very fresh and delicious

I am writing to express my disappointment with our recent experience at your restaurant in Fredricksbrugh, Virginia. Our party of eight expected a pleasant family dinner, but unfortunately we encountered multiple issues that made for a very frustrating visit. The most concerning issue involved the "grilled" chicken. My wife has a gluten allergy, so she specifically ordered grilled chicken, assuming it would not contain flour or breading. After noticing that the chicken did not appear to be grilled, we asked our waitress about it. She checked with the kitchen and informed us that flour is used when preparing the chicken. This was extremely alarming, as someone with a gluten allergy would reasonably expect grilled chicken to be free of flour. If this information is accurate, it presents a serious concern for guests with dietary restrictions. To make matters worse, when we brought this concern to the manager, he dismissed it by saying the waitress "should not have said that" and insisted the chicken was grilled, despite the fact that it clearly did not appear to be. Rather than taking our concern seriously, he became confrontational when my father-in-law attempted to discuss the issues with him. His response was unprofessional and showed little interest in addressing our legitimate concerns. There were several additional problems with our meal as well. One member of our party ordered a steak medium rare but received it well done. On top of that, two of the eight meals did not arrive until after the rest of the table had already finished eating. By that point, those family members either had to eat alone or rush through their meals while everyone else waited. I want to make it very clear that our waitress was not at fault. She was courteous, attentive, and did the best she could in a difficult situation. The problems stemmed from the kitchen and, more importantly, from the way management handled our concerns. Instead of listening, apologizing, and attempting to make things right, the manager became defensive and dismissive. Our family chose Cheddar's expecting good food and good service, but we left extremely disappointed. The lack of concern for a potential food allergy, the kitchen mistakes, the significant delays in service, and the manager's confrontational attitude are unacceptable. I hope this complaint is taken seriously and that steps are taken to improve both food preparation and customer service so other families do not have a similar experience. read more

I will only attest for the food I had mash potatoes, fried shrimp and Caesar salad and I tasted a chicken tender. Thee batter was perfect however the food ALL THE FOOD had no flavor at all not even salt . I asked for melted butter and was served the artificial butter sauce that also was tasteless The service was awful we waited long periods of time and i believe it's a host issue and not the server so much, when I hosted I was responsible for assigning tables. The server was lovely the service was out terrible. We were seated quickly, and were given our menus and two yummy honey butter croissants (gratis, 440 calories). I opted for the Chicken Caesar Pasta Salad ($12.49), which features lemon pepper chicken, penne pasta, romaine lettuce and croutons (860 calories). My rating for this dish is 3/5. It was fine, but a little heavy on the dressing, and light on the chicken. It was as advertised, but a bit boring with so few ingredients. My husband opted for the Chicken Alfredo which was served with garlic bread ($14.79). This dish also included penne pasta, broccoli, and homemade Alfredo sauce (1,540 calories). My husband also rated his meal as 3/5. He said it was good enough but feels that Olive Garden has similar meals that are a better value because they include unlimited salad and breadsticks. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated in a booth in a separate room on the left, that felt quite isolated. In fact, if another couple wasn't seated near us, we not have seen our waitress or the activity of the restaurant again[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Finally, a personal pet peeve for this and some other restaurants .... There has been increased pressure to tip more generously. The suggested gratuity "provided for your convenience" on the receipt first listed 22%, then 20%, and finally 18%. The old standard of 15% seems to have disappeared. I ordered off the app and it said it was ready at 5:05. I got there and checked in and waited 10 minutes and still nothing. I walked in to see about it and waited a few more minutes. I then checked it and I ordered the chicken tenders with two sides. The sides are getting so small it's not worth the money they are charging. This is not worth going here anymore. read more

We eat here whenever we are in town. They get five stars across the board! Food is always served hot by friendly waitstaff. Portions are generous and I always have leftovers. I was finally able to make a visit. Theres plenty of parking lot, off Plank Rd (Rt. 3), in front of Sportsman and next to Dunkin. When you get seated, you will be asked if you want a croissant. I am glad I said yes, the croissant was airy, fluffy, had a nice crunch of the outer layer and drizzle with honey butter. When the buffalo shrimp arrived to the table with 8 pieces and cocktail sauce. It was so perfectly fried that you can even eat the tail. It was delicious. The monte cristo comes in four, stuffed with smoked ham, smoked turkey, cheese and served with a ramekin of raspberry preserves. This dish alone with fill you up because it's very heavy and rich. It tastes good with or without the jam. The classic burger was very good and prepare it to your liking. The burger was juicy, tender and delicious. I had impeccable service by my server Callie P. Decided to finally try Cheddars. Was greeted as I entered and was quickly seated. The waitress was super friendly and brought me a fresh Croissant. I was excited to see there is a Cheddar's so close. I came after the major lunch crowd. Looks upbeat and hasn't been opened that long. I didn't wait long to be seated and I asked for the bar area in a booth since they had smaller booths and it was just me. Bar tender took my order. Very friendly and knowledgeable. I did ask for onion rings but they no longer have them. I opted for the chicken tenders with hot sauce on the side. Came out not that long after. Food looked cooked until I cut into the tenders and it was pretty cool not steaming hot. It was like the tenders were cooked and then the fries weren't ready at the same time. I let the bartender know and she went to the kitchen to get me some more. I continued to eat my fries and slaw while I waited. Manager brought the new plate back out with more slaw and fries. Overall, I think Cheddar's is nicer than the other chain restaurants. My husband and I were traveling to get on to 95 to go back South, but we needed a bite to eat. Cheddar's seated us right away. Our server was very nice, and she checked on us regularly. I had the Key West chicken and shrimp, which I thought was very tasty. The sauce and seasoning was delicious. The rice soaked up the sauce, which was super yummy. I loved the pineapple pico de gallo. My husband got the garlic tilapia and shrimp, which was also tasty. Let me start with, we have been to this restaurant several times and it was always good service, good food, and overall great experience. EXACT RATE- 4.5/5 SERVER- Eric (6/5 server!) Came here with a friend for a night bite and wasn't disappointed! FOOD- Spinach dip and Cheddar broccoli casserole They start you off with this glazed croissant... delicious, they charge for extras I'm pretty sure. I wasn't too hungry because I had dinner a few hours prior so I stuck to an appetizer and side. The dip was delicious! It comes with salsa on the side. The casserole was o.k. Nothing crazy. I could probably make something exactly the same at home using rice broccoli and the singles cheese slice. SERVICE- Amazing! CELIAC WARNINGS CONTAINED: As any of my review followers may know, I'm a celiac. Yesterday Jeff and I went to the Fredericksburg location of "Cheddars". I was excited to see a dedicated gluten, friendly menu. I made sure to tell my server that I have gluten allergies & was offered a menu for gluten friendly offerings. I looked at the menu, ordered a gluten-friendly "Key West Shrimp & Chicken". When the item came out of the kitchen, there was a brown sauce on the side. I asked the server what the brown sauce was and if the brown sauce was gluten-free considering my order being prepared gluten friendly. The server said that is our bourbon glaze, I will go ask. I began eating my baked potato, which was good and my baby carrots, which were also good. He came back pretty quickly and said it is not gluten-free. He then said the sauce usually comes on the chicken but now it's on the side to make it gluten free. I was confused as to why they would include a gluten containing glaze even on the side of a meal that was prepared to be gluten-free, and then I asked him to remove it, knowing that without a sauce to keep it moist the dish may be dry, I asked for drawn butter. My waiter was apologetic and immediately went to get me some drawn butter. He came back with a small ramekin full of hard butter. Drawn means already melted, sauce like so that I may use it. I assume anyone in the restaurant industry understand drawn butter, so I hadn't explained myself but I began to think he was just not listening closely enough to my needs and because there was sort of a glaze on the shrimp and chicken, I asked him if it was cooked in the glaze just to be sure. He said no so effortlessly and authoritatively that I felt more confident and I ate all five shrimp and a sliver of chicken and a small bite of the rice. As suspected without sauce it was pretty dry. The hard butter was useless to my need. The flavor was OK. The shrimp was the best part I boxed up the rest of my chicken to go. Jeff who is not gluten-free had the signature, honey butter croissants, and said they were good. He had the rib meal and said it also was good not a ringing endorsement from someone who loves ribs but also definitely not a poor review either. The atmosphere of the restaurant was upscale, clean line and had nice light music for an ambience. The location of the restaurant was very convenient and parking was good. Our waiter was polite. The hostess was welcoming and as we wished us a good day. Unfortunately, after I left within 5 to 10 minutes, I began having a severe gluten flareup, not the kind associated with trace amounts of cross contamination but the kind I get when I've unknowingly ingested a meal containing a reasonable amount of gluten. My my mouth became raw and inflamed, flowed by ulcers forming in my gumline. We had to stop moments down the road at Costco so I could run into a bathroom. As Beautiful and convenient as this restaurant was & considering how cost-effective it is, I think the value is good, but considering my experience it does not appear safe for anyone who has food, sensitivities, or allergies. Care is not considered. I WOULD recommend this restaurant to those who are free of such ailments as adequate food, cost effective, convenient &polite. I am just now the morning after, feeling back to myself. Which is really disappointing because being new to the area, Jeff and I try to find places we can both enjoy regularly, and sadly cheddars, can't be one of them because I do not feel safe to consume what is handed to me. read more

2nd visit in as many weeks - first with dad, then today with hubs. Specifically brought hubs because I had such a good experience the first time with Dad. Our server was Joan both times and she is the BEST! Super friendly, always ready with refills and extra napkins and just overall very sweet. Both times I ordered the Caesar pasta salad and it was delicious. Dad got the meatloaf a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it - today hubs got the steak and cheese and not a bite was left, it was that good. Best chicken tenders in the state! We only had a short amount of time to grab something to eat before another event and really didn't want another trip through a drive thru. We ordered a mix of meals, appetizers and salads and asked for all the food to come out together. The server seemed to struggle with our request, and said the apps had to come out first. We explained our request again, but she didn't seem to understand, so we said, ok whatever. Of course the meals came out first, followed by the salads and the apps were last! Don't expect an amazing meal though as this is not really a gourmet restaurant, It feels like a Chilis in my opinion. We went to Cheddars tonight for dinner and the service was quick & professional. We were seated right away and our server was Janiece (spelling, hope it's correct) and she was engaging and friendly. She offered some suggestions, attentive, and kept our drinks refilled. The food was sooo good. My husband had the shrimp Alfredo, I had the seasonal Bourbon glazed salmon & shrimp. Excellent taste and perfect temperature. The manager, Allie, even stopped by to check on us and how we were enjoying our dinner. She was very sweet. Just as we were about to leave, Janiece checked on us once more and offered "to go" drinks. They really went the extra mile! & Did I mention the low prices!?? My companion, however, did not have the same experience. She ordered the ribs, which were so overdone that when she ordered them again they told her all racks had come out the same that day and she'd have to order something completely different. We all know that cheddars makes delicious food at an affordable price. I recommend the chicken pot pie, ribeye steak, and grilled salmon. However the entire menu is delicious. Their claim to fame is that their food is made from scratch. Today were going to talk about their drinks. The painkiller it's a two drink limit. And for 699 it is well worth it. Everyone who enjoys a good drink with their meal or just a good drink, you need to check this one out. Today's post is only about the Painkiller. The rim is dipped in honey then coated in roasted coconut ... yummy. Yes it's early, but it was 5:00 somewhere Ladies im 5'2 and I have a nice buzz.
