Sub tastes okay, but it USED TO BE above and beyond all other sandwich/sub shops...they have CUT DOWN on the AMOUNT OF MEAT. Which makes them no better than the rest... I had to buy more deli meat and add at least an inch more to be comparable to what it used to be. So sad and disappointing. I guess corporate greed has affected all organizations. read more

Unsanitary and expired food. JM used to be a great sun shop. However, this place has went down hill. Their machines and preparation area is filled with old food and dirt because they don't clean. Staff don't wash their hands or wear gloves when handling food. I have watched cooks go from cleaning, wiping sweat, or playing games on their phone to preparing subs without washing hands. They don't wear beard nets or hair nets. The lettuce and onions are expired. Lettuce should be green, not brown. Onions should be white, not brown. The food is never covered from bugs, dirt, hair, boogers, etc. I went in one time and orders a roast beef. I watched them take the roast beef out of the cooler, drop the roast beef on the floor, then pick it up and continue to shave it. The bathroom is nasty. Clean it please. Take out the trash and wipe the toilets down. We don't want COVID coming back. Stop letting homeless sit in the restaurant and piss themselves. It stinks and it's disgusting. JM is just gross. It needs shut down. read more

Subs are always great with fresh ingredients and loaded with meat. Service is hit or miss depending on who's working, with seasonal workers you just don't know what you're going to get but the food is consistently very good. read more

Jersey Mikes makes you never want to step inside a Subway for the rest of your life. This location, in particular, really has it together. Lately I've noticed the staff is really in synch and even when it suddenly goes from 1 customer to 15 in the blink of an eye they really kick it into high gear and get that line under control fast. Love the italian BMT, just have to take my blood pressure meds befoe I eat it!!! Also the store is clean as are the restrooms. read more

I ate at Jersey Mikes today and the bread was hard as a rock. They had to know that it was stale when it was given to me. I ordered it to go and did not discover it until I got home, otherwise I would have definitely taken it back to the store. The bread was crumbly and fell apart. read more

I can honestly say that I have enjoyed Jersey Mike's Subs in the past. I have even recommended them as a great place to eat. Why two stars then? Recently Jersey Mike's has been put under new management. There were some changes made that impacted the one sandwich I order each time I go. The Mike's Italian. I consistently ordered it with the meat grilled. Now for some reason (policy was the excuse I was given) they will no longer offer this option. Yes I contacted their customer service and asked why. All I got was "policy". I replied with "what is the reason for the policy?" Their cold and unwavering response was "Policy". I tried tell them that the policy is wrong and many people enjoy this sandwich hot. There is something about the meat when it is heated that is just fantastic! I told them that until the policy was changed I would be eating elsewhere. Their response? "Again, we apologize for the inconvenience! The Culpepper location is now under new management, and we find it very important to adhere to all of the policies put forth by the Jersey Mike's Corporation." "We greatly appreciate your feedback and again, are so sorry that you feel this way. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week!" All I can say is that they have fallen quite a ways since that little shop opened in 1956 Point Pleasant, NJ, when the customer was king! Now apparently all that matters is maintaining corporate policy. So big they don't even care about losing a customer in a town of 18, 000 people. Good luck with that! read more

Decided to give Jersey Mike's another try this past Thursday to pick up a couple of sandwiches to take on a fishing/crabbing trip the following day. It was shortly after opening time, & the two folks working the counter - a gentleman & young lady - couldn't have been nicer. Ordered hubby a "mini" size turkey & Swiss cheese on wheat mini sub roll with lettuce & mayo ($5.45), & their #13 "Original Italian" mini-size sub (provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami and pepperoni) on white mini sub roll with "everything" ($5.75), "everything" normally being "onions, lettuce, tomatoes, red wine vinegar, olive oil blend, oregano, salt". Spicy food lover that I am, I also opted for some of their hot cherry pepper spread as well. I did nix the tomato on my sandwich because I felt it would be too soggy the next day. Sandwiches were made in just a few minutes while I waited, & when I mentioned that we wouldn't be enjoying the sandwiches until the next day, the folks very kindly put both my olive oil/vinegar dressing & my hot cherry pepper spread in foil-wrapped (to prevent leakage) little plastic containers, which was nice. I wasn't able to differentiate between the supposedly three different types of ham on my sandwich since they were all glommed together (will have to watch them actually making the sandwich next time - lol!), although I do severely doubt there was any "prosciuttini" in it, since the texture of that should have been very different from the rest. All the hams in the sandwich looked exactly the same. I did enjoy the sandwich though, & would order it again. Husband said that his sandwich was just "okay", which may have been colored by the fact that he found a long thin circular piece of plastic in his - from the looks of it most likely from the sliced-to-order turkey breast. Someone wasn't careful about the turkey wrapper before slicing. Bottom Line: When you pay at the register you are given a tip option on the card reader, & I did give them 20% for their cheerfulness & accommodating my separate sandwich condiments order, the cleanliness of the place, & the speed in which my order was ready. Would probably have given them 3-1/2 or 4 stars this time around, but the plastic in my husband's sandwich? Sorry - have to ding them for "foreign matter" in our food. This is my second time in since new owners/management took over. The first time I noticed how absolutely filthy it was. I waited quite a while to try again and the same thing. Behind the line, there is food everywhere(floors, prep line, in the cracks etc. (this is all visible) Like they haven't cleaned in forever. When I went in it was slow, quite empty and let's face it, if there's time to lean.. time to clean. I love Jm- but I probably won't be back bc it's a sanitary issue at this point. read more

I was a huge advocate of Jersey Mike's over chains like Subway and Quiznos, until 'the incident.' The food and service were always major selling points for me, and held me as a return customer for a couple years. One day, I ate my usual sub, and it turned out fairly inedible. All the sauce, for whatever reason, turned into a mucusy goop at the corner of the sandwich that tasted like someone had spit in my sandwich and mixed it with the cheese sauce I so adored. The prices are a bit much, but fair overall. I would recommend it, but it is hard to know whether they treated me poorly and did something to my sandwich or whether it was simply a poorly constructed, unlucky array of ingredients. Either way, I wouldn't recommend it if you have a weak stomach. read more

SO... Went back to Jersey Mike's got a classic sub... a #2... This isn't a sub this is a hoogie and not just any hoogie this is a Jersey style hoogie. There is a HUGE difference. The first bite into this massive thing took me back to my childhood on the Jersey shore, getting called out of the ocean by my mom to crash on the white hot sand with my friends and eat one of these amazing pieces of food with chips and an icee cold can of coke. This is truly what I talk about when I talk about Jersey, things like this that bring this land locked little boy home to the shore. I am so glad they came to Culpeper... Subway I'm sorry you make a quick and okay sub close by, but I've found my true home... Gosh this sucks however with it being summer... and I was starting to lose weight too... Jeez. read more

Update since last review on the HORRIBLE customer service where a manager admitted to messing my order up, continued to argue with me that she didn't, even though she admitted to doing so, and then said she couldn't fix the problem only the owner could... I waited basically an entire week for the owner to get back to me or have someone else get back and they never did, so I went to Jersey Mike's website and sent a complaint through there. They apparently send it to the owners and FINALLY the same day i sent that in, I got a response, and the owner fixed the order. Still 1 start review because I had to take it to a level of complaining through the website and they wouldn't do anything innner store until I went to that level. That is still ridiculous, and I refuse to raise a rating on a business who does business like that. read more

Food was good. It was just over $12 out the door for a small cheesesteak with extra meat (I don't get the other fixings), chips and a soda. It's a little bit more expensive than other places but I have no complaints on the taste or quality of the food. read more

This was my first experience with Jersey Mike's. I can't imagine it having gone any worse. From the time I ordered until the time I paid the staff made it awkward and difficult by speaking in muted tones and what seemed like grunts. They must have sliced all of the veggies the night before and left them uncovered because everything was visibly wilted and/or dried out. The only thing that prevented me from giving it one star is that the sandwich was still pretty good even with the dehydrated veggies. read more

This was my first time visiting any jersey mikes location and it left me with mixed feelings. I think it's nice that they cut the meat for you right there, but that does hold up the line quite a but if it gets busy. The staff seemed like they were trying to get through the crowd but they didn't really work together in the most efficient way. Then I was going to get a separate order from my group so I asked one person how much the cookies were and she jest kept staring at me going "uhh uhh uhh" then I looked away for a second to ask my cousin which he wanted and when I turned back the girl had walked off without answering or letting me know she was going to walk off. Then the woman that took her place at the register was so frazzled she wasn't concentrating on what I was asking her. I got so frustrated I just added the order to my group order. The prices were a little higher than I would have liked. The food was ok but I figured it wasn't really better than wegmans. Overall I would come here in a group if they wanted to eat here but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. read more
