These people are the BEST and they're food is INCREDIBLE!!! Seriously, every time we visit we feel like family, and we always order way too much because the food is so good. Our go-to dishes are any curry dish, pad thai, Thai barbecue chicken (Incredible!) and the new crispy pork belly dishes! Their satay is delicious, and we always split a dumpling combo to start (the wasabi dumplings are to die for). Literally everything we get is amazing! This place is pretty good! This was the first Thai restaurant I ever ate at, and it was delicious! It was over a year ago now but I remember it very well. When I ordered my food I wasn't expecting it to be as spicy as it ended up being, but I love spicy food in general so it wasn't a huge deal for me. If anything, I think it was better that way. Anyways, I also ordered the Thai Iced Tea, and I'd say it was also pretty good! It was my second time ordering this drink, and it wasn't as good as the tea at the other place I went to. However, it was a more upscale place in D.C., so that's probably why. Still good though, don't get me wrong. Overall, good place to eat. Came out to Culpeper for a weekend getaway with the girls. Passed pinto the night before and liked the decor and the vibe of the place so returned the next night for dinner. The service food and ambiance was great. Our waitress was super nice and joked with us. My friend asked for something off of the menu and they made it for her. I love Thai food and we were all very impressed with all of our entrees. I definitely recommend pinto and will dine there again when we visit. read more

On tour in VA and stumbled upon this lovely Thai restaurant! The dishes are yummy and copious and the atmosphere is second to none!

So Pinto Thai reached out to me to fix the order from my last review. The fix they gave me was equally as horrible for different reasons. HOWEVER... I had heard so much great stuff about them that I figured I would try again, and order some different things. I don't know why... Probably because it was one of the only places delivering that wasn't pizza during the pandemic early stages. Anyways... It was great. It was back on the status of what I remember before they moved. So it's become a fairly regular thing of mine to try new things i hadn't tried before. Some are like ehhh... but for the most part they are really good. I think I have only 2 small complaints. Firstly, IMO they don't handle chicken very well. It's usually overcooked and that's probably due to most of the dishes they use it in it's all sliced very thin. So if you're picky about texture of chicken, I probably would stay away from that. It's not horrible, it just tends to lean towards the overcooked side. When you're dealing with things like their mango chicken or tamarind chicken it's particularly annoying because it makes it tough and chewy, not that crispy exterior but succulent interior you're looking for. I guess along those same lines is the crispy pork belly. Secondly, the spice. So... this is all about personal taste and this isn't something WRONG with anything, so maybe not really a complaint so much as a warning to those who are like me. I love spice, but only to a certain level. If you order a spicy dish their, expect that dish to be S P I C Y. Drunken noodles are supposed to be spicy, and again.. I like spice... But lately they've been making them so spicy that I can't even eat more than a single bite and in the past it's been one of my favorite dishes from them. But how they've been making it lately is a bit much for me. I wouldn't stay away from their spicy dishes, I would just make sure you communicate that you don't want AS much spice. They have different levels, but be sure you're specifying that it's not ADDED spice you want, it's spice level in general. I ordered through their website and put spice milk, and it was even worse than the time before, and you could see where they had added more red pepper flakes. But if you really love love spice, have at it. They're great. BEST part I like is that they aren't letting their menu go stagnant. They are constantly posting updates on their Facebook page about new combos they are trying. And boy are they making some interesting dishes! Best dish to date that I've tried with them is their Tamarind Shrimp. LARGE shrimp, crispy exterior, not too much sauce so the shrimp isn't swimming in it, but enough to cover it. It's sticky, sweet, savory, very very TOUCH of heat, just enough to add to the dish but not even enough to burn your tongue. Even someone not a fan of spice would probably like it. Above all that... beyond the food is the people. The staff. The company. They gave... or are giving.. huge discounts to medical staff. They are donating all the time. They are making their presence known, and they are awesome. If you haven't tried them, you should. I recommend the following dishes: Pad Thai Thai Rama Tamarind Shrimp Thai Fried Rice Won Ton Soup (NOT your basic wonton soup! The food here was good based on what we ordered--the papaya salad especially. The duck was so-so; too dry and cut too thick. The reason I'm giving 3, rather than 4 stars, is because the tall waitress who died her hair blonde is extremely rude and unprofessional. We had a complaint about the smell coming from the papaya salad during our second visit to the restaurant. She came over to see what was wrong and when my boyfriend tried to explain, she had a blank look on her face. I then tried to explain (all of this calmly), and she suddenly yells something out in Thai and literally turns her back on us and storms off, talking in Thai to the other waitresses. Even if it was a communication problem and she didn't understand English well, she didn't have to start screaming while we were still talking and storm off like a child. The staff and food were amazing! Everything we ordered (wasabi dumplings, tom yum soup, panaang curry and some veggie garden dish) were flavorful without being too spicy. The brown rice side was some of the best brown rice I've had put in a long time. All of the wait staff was attentive, helpful and friendly. The food came out quickly, too! I am staying in Culpepper for one night. I was very excited when I saw such a highly rated Thai restaurant. The restaurant is in a wonderful part of downtown. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. For those reasons, I can't justify a 1 star rating. After reading the reviews of so many people raving about the Pad Thai, I thought I couldn't go wrong by trying it. I WAS WRONG! People of Culpepper, please know that Pad Thai is not supposed to taste like that. I have traveled all over North America and eaten at some amazing Thai restaurants, including Lotus of Siam in Las Vegas! The Pad Thai I had tonight tasted funky like the smell of dirty feet. I was never a Thai fan before eating here. I LOVE their food. Have tried multiple items off their menu. Their service is quick, staff is always lovely, and food is always flavorful. They also deliver within a certain radius and I find it to be very prompt and the food still hot. We also always get a little surprise free item. Some favorites: Drunken noodles with beef, Krapow Fried Rice, Garlic dish with beef, Wonton Soup (best I've ever had), Wonton app, Moo Ping, Gyoza Dumplings, Wasabi Dumplings, and much more. The owners of Culpeper Thai have moved to Davis Street and opened Pinto Thai. My husband and I always loved the Culpeper Thai restaurant, but the ambiance wasn't great - sort of dingy and old looking. But the delicious food kept us coming back. The new location is fresh and bright. There are new menu items and, it's hard to believe, but the food is even better! This location is always busy, but never feels over-crowded. It's one my family's favorite restaurants in Culpeper and I highly recommend! read more

Being a first time Thai customer, I was extremely excited to see the new flavors that my taste buds hadn't quite adventured towards. With that being said, my expectations were far exceeded.
