Absolutely delicious. Fresh ingredients and perfectly cooked and crafted Thai food. The service was pleasant (and superior to most Culpeper restaurants, in my opinion) and accommodating. The new space and interior design creates a fantastic, cheerful environment that revitalizes an old industrial building. Great view of Davis Street when you sit at the high tops in the front. First time eating here and will definitely not be the last. The high ceilings and exposed brick make for a casual atmosphere that doesn't try too hard. Spouse and I got lunch and were surprised at the interesting lunch combination including an entree, edamame, and French fries with a sweet mayo sauce on top. My husband and I were excited to try this out after reading the positive reviews. I'd give 5 stars for the actual space - very cool building and great atmosphere. On to the waitstaff, maybe ALL of them were having a bad day? Not one smile, and everyone seemed grumpy to be stuck at work. Now the food. My husband and I lived in different places in Asia for over 6 years, and have traveled/stayed in Thailand twice. Let's just say we've had our share of amazing food. The food at Pinto Thai was very so-so. We ordered different curries and were really not impressed at all. The massaman curry was very, very thin, like water and was overly sweet. We both asked for spicy, but it had no spice at all, just sweet. I had the green curry and while the curry was a little bit thicker, it was still quite thin. I was also sad I could only find three tiny slivers of eggplant in the whole dish (my favorite part). So far, the best Thai we've found in NOVA is at Three Sisters Thai - it was pretty good, but we're still looking for great! read more

I was looking for a place to treat myself to some nice food that was still serving takeout in the area. I called a couple places other places that left me hanging, however they picked up my call almost immediately and took my order even though it was about 9pm. They met me at the curb and I didn't even have to get out of my car. The woman who brought me my food was super friendly despite it being past 9:30, and they even put in an extra order of the crispy spring rolls. The food was great as always, but I'm mostly here to say how grateful I am for such excellent, friendly and accommodating service. As someone who used to work late in food service, I can truly appreciate the heart it takes to keep it together, and I can't even imagine how hard it must be during a time like this. I wish I had more cash on me at the time because I would've given them a bigger tip. I hope they know that they made my day one hundred times better. read more

My family and I have been coming to this establishment even before their move and renovation. As an avid Thai food lover, I have never found better Thai food in surrounding areas including northern Virginia, Richmond, Charlottesville, or Waynesboro. They have the best Thai food I have ever tasted. We come here regularly for chicken satay, pad thai, pad se ew, and panang curry. The service and friendliness of the staff is always exceptional. After stopping into several other restaurants on the same street (which we left because they were not following COVID safety guidelines) we found Pinto Thai which was a welcome relief. Tables were spaced apart, with barriers in between and full bottles of hand sanitizer on each table. I also saw the servers cleaning and sanitizing tables between parties. The food was amazing as well, with generous portions and reasonable prices. We are avid Thai food fans and this place did not disappoint. My boyfriend and I have been to Pinto Thai several times since it's opening a year ago. Recently, however, we had a very unfortunate experience and sadly, we won't be back. Its understandable that a waiter or waitress might forget something from time to time. On this occasion it was our beverages. The restaurant was barely full so busyness wasn't the reason. Perhaps preoccupation with eating one's own dinner at a table in the back of the restaurant while we ate ours? Unfortunately you turned your back to us, couldn't see us, never checked back with us, forgot our drinks, and when we had to flag another server down to help us and they brought it to you attention, we watched you shrug your shoulders, do nothing, and continue shoveling food into your mouth. Apologies go a long way with us. A simple apology or "I'm sorry" would have fixed it for us. But it left an impression on us that you just didn't care that we received bad service. After eating at your restaurant more than a dozen times, we won't ever be back. read more

Had a family dinner here this evening. Great service and excellent Thai food with fresh ingredients. Plenty of gluten-free options. My husband ordered Chicken Lava, which is served in a flaming pan. Been eating here for over ten years. I used to order delivery 2-3 times a week until they raised their prices. It then dropped down to 1-2 times a week until they started charging a delivery fee on top of the already overpriced cuisine. They moved and I decided to give them a shot again. The lady started laughing when I gave the address. She said the delivery man did not like coming because I didn't tip well enough. My tips dropped when they started charging for delivery. The rudeness of the staff has now ensured I will not order from them again. The food itself is on par 80% of the time. 10% of the time it is not that good and 10% of the time it is excellent. read more

Went there last night at there suggestion of a friend. Went in and the noise level was extremely high. Sorry had to leave without eating. Food may have been great but the noise made it very uncomfortable to relax and enjoy dinner. However, it was packed so I guess most are not bothered by the noise and closeness of the tables.
