Spent the birthday weekend up in bend Oregon. Stumbled into cute little tavern after skiing up in Mt. Bachelor. We ordered wedge salad (shared between my bf and I) it was a good portion for us to split. Then we ordered French dip and Cuban. Both were absolutely delicious and their unique sweet potato fries with pickled onions and cojita cheese was delightful. Must go back when we go back to Bend. read more

A friend and I came in on a stormy afternoon for an app and cocktail before dinner. Our bartender Taylor was very attentive and accomodating to our needs while dining. His blue cheese olive dirty martini was excellent and he even gave us a few more olives upon request. Their shrimp cocktail and wedge salad were so good. It was a perfect way to start our evening. Wonderful lunch last Saturday with family, ( 7 adults; 6 children)! When waitress approached with a smile, I wondered if she thought " all those kids"! But she helped with the menu, made great suggestions & I don't believe she wrote anything down. Food nor drinks order! I ordered the Mac & Cheese with pulled pork and told her I was sharing that with one of my granddaughters that was seated next to me. She had just come from a birthday party and wasn't that hungry. All 5 other children ordered off the kids menu. Perfect for ages 10 & under. When the Mac arrived I looked at her as she had 2 good size bowls! She said they had divided it for us. Couldn't believe that would have been one portion! Absolutely delicious and when my granddaughter tasted it she asked if she could have the rest of mine!! Of course she could not finish, so our Half portions went around the table and everyone loved it even my husband who doesn't like Mac& Cheese! Cute place with an amazing history in Bend. The waitress was so lovely to tell us the history of the restaurant and the trees within its dining room. My partner and I weren't super hungry so we split a bowl of clam chowder, the wedge salad and a Reuben sandwich. The chowder was under seasoned and lacking the star of the soup...clams! I would not order that again. The wedge salad is as crisp and delicious. Finally, the Reuben was tangy and delicious. We really loved it. The pine tavern was an okay place for us to take a load off after exploring Bend. This is located right in the heart of Bend and in walking distance to a great brewery and a ton of cute shops. The food was very good. I had fresh halibut with buerre blanc and zucchini and sweet potato fries. All I recommend. Husband had fish n chips that he says was a little dry but tasty. The service by Kyle was impeccable. The Ambiance is A+ and worth the stop if you're in for a lovely dinner. We were visiting Bend for the first time so appreciated the excellent suggestions for food. We visited on Christmas Day. It was very busy since not a lot of restaurants were open. We were able to share a table with two other people so we got seated pretty quickly. They were offering Christmas menu. I ordered Turkey with stuffing. Turkey was not dry at all. A bit chewy and irresistible. Gravy tasted great. I took a to go box since I couldn't finish all of it. It also came with a salad/ soup and a dessert of choice. The salad tasted very refreshing and appetizing. The colorful cherry tomatoes and dried raspberry made it look very festive. We ordered Bourbon Pecan and apple cinnamon for desserts. The bourbon pecan one was way too sweet for me. The Apple cinnamon pie was very nice. Great balance of sour and sweet. I'm very grateful that this restaurant was open while we visited Bend. Made the holiday season warm and cozy. read more

We arrived for an early dinner (4pm) but ended up ordering off their Happy Hour menu @ the historic Pine Tavern in Historic Downtown Bend, Oregon. The last time we ate there was almost 20+ years ago so it was nice to eat there as it brought back fond memories for us. I ordered the Pine Tavern Burger and my wife ordered the Shrimp Fajitas (both were on the Happy Hour menu). We inquired about their famous hot scones with honey butter, our server Madison noted they still serve their famous complimentary hot scones with honey butter but wouldn't be served until 5pm. So she said an order would be brought out for our dessert! Such a wonderful customer oriented server! Our meals were delicious but the service made our dining experience much more memorable. Note: rustic and comfortable ambiance, you must check out the Pine Tree growing through the back dining room! Caution: free street parking is limited but there is a parking lot about one block away for $1/hr which is paid at the parking kiosk (the kiosk accepts $1 bills but no change is given back if you want a 1/2 hour. Waited over 15 minutes after being seated and nobody served me. 2:25 on a Saturday. Very disappointed.

The food was delicious. I got their steak salad, and I subbed tomatoes for carrots, and I think it was the best meal I ever had.

We were going to a show at the Tower Theater and chose to dine at the Pine Street Tavern beforehand. Our server, Taylor, was superb! Our meal was delicious and the patio setting was perfect! I highly recommend Pine Tavern and ask for Taylor as your server! read more

We had reservations for Father's day evening. The place was bustling. We were seated in the dining area, next to the signature trees. The food was OK. For an appetizer we had the seared ahi, which would have been better served as sashimi I had the fried chicken breast with gravy and potatoes. The potatoes were excellent. There wasn't enough gravy. Husband had prime rib and had to trim off so much fat. Overall food was unremarkable. Service was slow. I requested a box and waited and waited. Asked 3 times. Came here for the first time while visiting bend and the service was very "bland". Definitely nothing over and beyond. Unfortunately the food portion of what my husband had (steak fritas) was so small and not worth the price at all. Sweet potatoes fries were amazing and definitely recommended. After a couple days in Bend, OR, I am left feeling impressed with the town but disappointed in the food. Until. Now. I couldn't decide between this place and the Bend Brewery. I really wanted the fish tacos at the Brewery. But after talking to the wait staff, the tacos were taken off the menu. And the vide wasn't what I thought. So I wandered over a few doors down to the Pine Tavern. I am so glad this happened. I just had the most delicious French onion soup and the biggest tastiest Alaskan Cod fish and chips. As if I wasn't incredibly full after all of that, I ordered the Scone Bread Pudding with bourbon sauce. This was the most delicious bite of deliciousness ever. The staff is friendly. The vibe is a chill bar with good music that's not too loud and the walls are plastered with original pictures. My diet is destroyed but my spirit and stomach are full. Go here asap. read more

On 3/22/24 while wondering around downtown Bend for a place to have dinner at, I just happened to spot this charming looking place on a side street from a block away while walking by and decided to check it out on my second passing. Very nice atmosphere and I was able to get a table right away upon walking in on a busy Friday night. I really enjoyed the Hefeweizen drink and my steak salad as the entree. My friendly server was a chatty gal from Tennessee who recommended to me the scone bread pudding for dessert and it was very delicious. I will definitely be coming back whenever I'm in Bend again overnight or long enough for a meal. read more

"Keep it simple, stupid!" is often the best advice one to get and give to a restaurant and it's patrons. Pine Tavern gets it. It is just this: A Tavern. Rustic. Warm. Dim lighting. Quiet, but not silent. The game is on to help bridge the transitions between conversations and transactions. Serves: Tavern "comfort" food. Well cooked. Presented as it should be in a tavern. The service: No nonsense, straight forward wait staff that simply does their job well. The waiter was as efficient as they come. Attentive, but not at all "how is everything" aggressive. Sometimes. Often times. It just comes down to the basics. A traditional dining out experience done in the expected sequence. This was such a time. This was well welcomed and appreciated. We had the garlic Fries as an app. I had a cup of French soup. Amazing. Then main coursed the Fish & Chips. Others in my fam had the Mac & Cheese, and Burgers. Comfort food to the core. Bottom line: My family and I were able to unwind, exhale, actually talk, eat and leave rested and with fully bellies. This was a Plan C or D (to be honest) that became a surprisingly good, well welcomed, diamond-in-the -rough, happy-accident. read more

The food was decent. We ordered the pasta and the prime rib sandwich special. It was ok. The bell peppers overpowered the pasta, and the prime rib sandwich was thin shavings of beef. Great caramelization on the onions, though. I was least impressed with the cleanliness of our dining experience as a cherry stem was laid neatly on the corner of the table as we sat down. The unwrapped fork handle had dried food on the handle, and the bathroom door was held together by strait hinges. Restaurant with a view... Located along the Deschutes River, the outdoor patio area boasts a gorgeous view of the Mirror Pond. They also have indoor dining areas which allow for social distancing including 5-6 private min- rooms with a single tables and curtain doors. I saw a bar but I don't think seating as allowed there. Other Covid safety precautions I noticed were masks, hand sanitizer dispensers, signs, markers on the floor and tables at least 6 feet apart. My party of 5 sat outside. The menu included traditional menu items but was lacking in vegetarian options. We ordered the Mixed Greens Salad, sides of snap peas and mushrooms (for the vegetarians), Seared Salmon, Potato Encrusted Wild Alaskan Halibut, Grilled Mahi Salad, Hummus, Spinach and Artichoke Dip, wine and White Chocolate Cheesecake (to go). Our food arrived in a timely manner, was nicely plated and in decent portion. Taste was good although a tad bland. Service was excellent. Everyone was polite, friendly and helpful. We've eaten here in the past and the food was great but the night of 12/9/23 it was surprisingly bad. I ordered fish and chips which is usually a home run here but this time it had no flavor/seasoning. Tasted overcooked and cooked in old oil. My wife had the Mac n cheese and it was delicious.
