I love Pinchers! Consistent service and food quality. Great drink specials and oh, those fries! I think Jasmine (?) or Jackie was our waitress and she was attentive and professional. This is a place that I always recommend for good food, good service, and a great value. read more

Stopped in for lunch, seeking fresh local fish. Snapper was on the catch of the day and it did not disappoint. It expertly grilled, nicely seasoned, great texture. However, the fresh local green beans were AMAZING!! Service was greet too. Thanks Meghan. read more

Three stars might be overdoing it. We liked Robbie's reef better, but hey. Like Good Beer? Go elsewhere. The best they offer is Stella which is sayin' somethin' that should stay quiet. Whoever their bar manager is needs to step out of the eighties - ever hear of craft brew? There's plenty plenty brewed right in these Florida environs - leave the bud light for the little old ladies and the college freshmen please. They do offer their very own type of craft beer but it kinda sucks - half my glass was full on leaving which speaks the proverbial volumes. They slapped up some generic looking fishing signs and such seemingly from t j maxx. As for the food - The coconut shrimp app is ok but that's an easy one . My fish sandwich featured a little square of dry something among some hockey puck-like 'bread'...the sides were kinda booooring. Everything here just feels kinda...generi This seems like the kind of place you'd bring some visitors you don't really like. Maybe they'd get the message and not come back for a visit the same way we won't be coming back here... . To the simpleton who wanted to give this joint six stars ?!?! We agree! When they open an outpost up on Uranus !! Bad food , bland food , bad so-called beer, etc etc etc read more

This restaurant makes goooood food! The atmosphere is cool aquariums to look at. We will be back! Yummy

Great atmosphere, service and food. Love it and will come back for more! I ad the shrimp scampi and it was delicious!

Excellent food, excellent service. Was in the the waitlist but it moved along quickly. Kind and friendly staff made all that more enjoyable. read more

Better than average 'wait' management. Better than average service. Less 'loud' than average. Food was good. I found the Scampi pasta portion a little smaller than expected. Prices were as expected. read more

They told me 20-25 min wait once I checked in hostess - Saturday at 6 on . Exactly 20 min wait . Service and food excellent . We are full time residents , customers that come year round . Thank you - great job read more

Food was average seafood. Thought the prices were pretty steep for what you got. Kids under 12 do eat free with adult entree over $14. It was just okay, nothing super. read more

Several years ago the food here was good, but today the fries were overcooked and cold and the grouper was on the fringe of being too old--limp, no white flakiness inside and soggy breading on the outside. It has been steadily going downhill. I won't be going back. read more

Went there yesterday afternoon for to go grouper tacos. Had a draft beer while waiting. Quite pricey at over $49 for a to go order and draft beer. Bartender didn't offer me the second "happy hour" beer while I sat there. Had to ask for it and she seemed to have forgotten about their special. Even with a draft beer at near $7! The place was pretty empty and the manager came out to talk to two others about football. Walked right by me, looked at me but didn't bother to ask if all was ok. Took food home. The grouper tacos were very scant on the fish and full of filler. Most definitely not worth $20 for two tacos with limited pieces of cut up grouper. Will not return. read more

Ate there today and the food was great. I will be going back! Conch fritters were the best we have had anywhere!

I had the shrimp and it was the definition of mediocre, they weren't even warmed up that much, the milkshake tasted like it was mixed with water. The calamari was dry and tasteless, string beans were tasteless. Service was great, nice location. The food was not word famous in a good way. read more

Jarrod c. I had heard how great the sea food was that's why I choose pinchers for a special occasion. I didn't make it an issue because I had out of town guests and didn't was a scene. But yes everything was cold except the appetizer...very disappointed and will never recommend or eat there again read more

Be careful if you order their most expensive meal, Alaskan King Crab at $75.00 per plate, because not only did I have one but two a few days ago that came to the table so soft the only utensil we used was a fork. By the time we got to the meat it was cold as was the butter; however, we ate it because crab meat is good no matter what temperature it is, but, for a whooping $75.00 it should have been served perfect. Our wives both had good meals with the ribs and the mahi mahi so all was not lost because happy wife happy life; however, we can now mark this restaurant off our list of go to places to eat crab legs. read more

Doughy bready crab cakes. Under cooked way over garlicky green beans. Over cooked rice. Fries are good though but is that why you're there???? No read more

Great seafood selection and large menu of items , picky party all found something they liked. Very good choices of shrimp, excellent crab cake , very good key lime pie read more

This place looks festive and fun. The menu is packed full of awesome seafood. We've been grazing all week, so decided to split the conch fritters and clam dinner. The conch fritters were glorified hush puppies, barely any meat to them. They were small and pricey. The clams were very big and delicious, but not many to the order. All in all, just ok. Casey Key Fish House is much better! We probably will not be back. read more

We had a great dinner. Two Hogfish specials; one grouper tacos; one stone crab--everyone thought food was good. Our waiter did a great job ZACH and we really enjoyed bantering back and forth with him. read more

We came here for a family dinner ahead of a wedding weekend. The bar was running a 2 for 1 happy hour which was a really good deal. Our table was not prepped for the right size party, instead of adding a table, the staff just added some chairs which made the seating situation very tight and not the best environment to socialize. The pinchers on the appetizer were very good. I got the ahi tuna as my entree and it was weirdly tasteless, absolutely no taste at all. The server asked if I liked it, but then didn't offer to have me order something different when I said I didn't care for it and sent the full plate back. My husband had the shrimp Alfredo and it was just okay. Overall, this chain offers very general options that are just okay. read more

Food and service are great, don't get me wrong. BUT, they suggest tip using the total of your food AND the tax amount instead of only the food. That is misleading and lots of patrons will not notice. That is just wrong! read more

Had the worse meal I have had in many years. The crab was supposed to be cold and was hot instead. Waitress said oh maybe it was just cooked. Crab had so much seasoning it was not edible. When my daughter took her first bite she could not eat it. I brought it to the attention of the waitress who brought her a menu to order something else. Took it off the bill or told the manager? Heck no, I just had to pay for another meal to replace. My daughters boyfriend had a grouper taco. First bite and you guess it fish bones. Never again no sorry can we make it better or sorry you were not happy and a hundred dollars later a terrible meal. read more

Love this place. Great food, good deals on happy hour and the location was wonderful. The bartenders and staff were very fast and friendly

Great variety of seafood and preparations. All of our dinners were delicious. And how to you beat their drink policy: 2 for 1!

everything about our dining experience was very good. food was excellent and fairle priced. recommend the crab dip appetizer. nice ambiance and very clean read more

Wonderful service! Our server Brit was always checking in swapping out empty glasses grabbing plates and gave us wonderful recommendations. The food was pretty good and the view from outside was decent but I'd be a regular just for the top notch service. read more

Used to be good. Ordered something simple, fish n chips, but both fish and fries were dry and luke-warm, like they had spent too much time under the warming lamps. Beer and Cole-slaw were good, but I will not be back soon. read more

This past Sunday, my wife and I, along with her three sisters, celebrated her birthday at Pincher's in Venice, FL. We were greeted with a smile and the host seated us right away. We all had cocktails and an appetizer and order Alaska Crab dinners. Everything was wonderful except the Crabs were delivered with a butter oil which was terrible. We asked for the manager for real butter and our waiter brought to our table what he said was real butter, (but is was NOT ). We were ALL DISAPPOINTED with the Crabs and felt that we paid $44.00 dollars per Crab Meal. I would HIGHLY SUGGEST that for beautiful meal of Crabs to be ruined by a substitute oily fake butter, that you would reconsider serving the REAL STUFF for that kind of money. Thank you and hope this review helps your food in the future. Bill B. read more

Excellent fish and chips. Fish was very fresh. Appreciated the generous amount of Tatar sauce that was provided. Fast hot and fresh.

I went with a group of 6 on July 4th to the Pinchers location in Venice. While browsing the website, my wife discovered a promotion for $100 worth of gift cards for $85. The website referred to the gift cards as virtual "instant savings" cards. We decided to buy the cards prior to our visit. The 6 of us spent $175.00. (plus a $35 tip) When checking out we were told by a Manager that they could not accept the cards because there was a 24 hr waiting period. I showed the Manager the website and the fact that there was no reference to a waiting period. She could have cared less and just told me that we could not use the cards. The waitress then told me that the "instant savings" just meant that I could buy them online. Really?! This company does not stand behind its own gift cards. I now have $100 worth of gift cards sitting in my email. My family is only in the Venice area until Saturday July 7th. I decided to contact the corporate office via email to discuss a refund of these cards. No response. I now have to dispute the charge with my credit card. We are annual visitors to the Venice and Sarasota area and this was our first time to this Pinchers location. I can honestly say that this was a situation that left a really bad taste in my mouth. The website should indicate a waiting period and the Manager should have been more accommodating. There are too many great restaurants in this area to be wasting your time here. The food is average at best. And the local staff and corporate do not care about customer service. Go elsewhere!! read more

My new favorite restaurant! Love the smokey taste of seafood. Pretty views of water surrounding deck. Great service too!

Very good calamari, nice atmosphere, most waiters and waitresses are excellent. Starting to get a little skimpy on the food, but if they ever return to normal they're (usually) quite good and reasonably priced. read more

We had lunch at Pinchers and were quite disappointed. The crab dip was watery like soup. The crab stuffed shrimp had little, if any, crab meat and the shrimp were under sized. Sorry Pinchers but we won't be back. read more

I'm not one to write poor reviews, but after my experience I feel compelled to leave a review. Pinchers is a super popular place in the area and after a few people raved about it, I figured I'd go try it out for myself. To start with, the waiter was respectful very nice experience there. It all started to go downhill when the food and drinks got brought out.. I was out with my friends and all of a sudden we start seeing these floating particles in our waters, I couldn't identify exactly what they were but you could tell it was dirty and very poorly cleaned/sanitized, after that we then received our food and discovered that the silverware was disgusting and poorly cleaned, which I don't know about you, but that really ruined our experience as cleanliness is very important especially when eating in a restaurant. I hope pinchers realizes this and works to fix this problem, as it is a really nice place with nice scenery that sits right on the water. Until then I would not recommend. read more

See all

We went there on father's day and our server was excited to say they had a piece of key lime pie for both dads in our party. What a great atmosphere to begin pur night. When we got our food one of our plates had ice cold mashed potatoes and the server said she would be right back with a replacement. 15min later we had to ask about the mashed potatoes and she said the cooks could not find a bowl to put them in???? Right as we finished our server brought the potatoes and told us there was no more key lime pie and to have a good night!?!? No apology or anything. After speaking to the manager we were able to make things a little better. Just do not promise people something if you are not positive. Could have been a great experience.. read more

I will not eat here again. Too, too, too, too noisy (very bad acoustics). Served frozen fish, fries not fresh. Definitely not worth it and the server was not friendly at all. read more

The fish filet was so so. Seemed old. Fresh cut French fries mushy, also old. Server was great. May try here again. 50/50 chance.

What a great restaurant! Visiting our cousin in Venice - we are from Chicago and know great food!! So fabulous I just had to post!! Cousin and I had shrimp scampi and hubby had BBQ ribs. Ribs are falling off the bone with BBQ sauce that could or should win awards!! Shrimp scampi is done to perfection with just the right amount of garlic. And let's not forget about the two for one margaritas and beer!! Will definitely be back!! read more
