Very neat and clean restaurant - my Shrimp Po Boy was great! Wife's grilled salmon wasn't done, they took it back and brought a new one still wasn't fully cooked, took it off the bill and gave free dessert- everything else was great and despite the salmon it was still pleasant- the wife wasn't even mad! Terrible, terrible, terrible. I can't even comment on the food because we left after waiting 45 minutes and not being seated. We were told 10-15 minutes upon arrival, the only party in the lobby. 2 parties, our size, were seated in front of us. Our oysters never came out and our server never came back to take our dinner order. When we finally got someone's attention we told them we were leaving. We've had dinner at this location on numerous occasions. The food is good and the service is adequate but the manager leaves a lot to be desired Tonight he decided that we should sit at a table that was so small we could've chewed on our elbows for dinner. There were tables to the front of us and back of us that were empty and larger but his intent was to equal out the patrons for his waitstaff with no consideration for the patron. This was my first visit. The location is nice and has been many different restaurants. The signage is a little hard to see for people passing. I had the fish without the chips and replaced with two generous sides. I ordered the little less and for lunch it was a great portion. The waitress was very attentive (Carly) or ie. My daughter had the shrimp tacos and was very pleased. I would definitely visit in the future when I in the Venice area. Lots of seating inside and outside and a full bar. We had dinner there. Ordered an appetizer of clam chowder. A little more watery than I prefer but it was sooo salty that we could eat it and had to send it back. If you read any of my reviews you see that I don't like some things but don't send them back so this was too salty to eat. Our waitress was not very attentive in fact other waitress's refilled our drinks and took the soup back to the kitchen. We ordered the crab Rangoon to replace the soup and it was pretty good. Our entries came out withe the crab Rangoon that was a disappointment but no a deal breaker. The entrees were the jumbo crab cake and fish & chips with French fries and fresh green beans. Everything was salty but not so we couldn't eat it. The fries were cold. The manager came by and asked how everything was so I told him. He said be right back with some hot crispy fries. He came back with some hot fries and asked if we'd mind sharing them. He also mentioned that he took the soup off our bill. He also mentioned that they salt everything and we should ask them to not add salt to our food. We may give them a second try. It's a little pricey though. read more

Pinchers is the first restaurant out of six or so that I have tried that impressed me every bit as much as when I am seated and served inside during normal times. What a wonderful seafood restaurant! It was BUSY in mid March, but I called ahead 30 min and we were able to be seated quickly! The waitress was delightful and service was the right speed. We began with the cheese/crab dip appetizer and it was GONE in no time. It was delicious! Our party of 4, each chose different entrees but all seafood. None of us were disappointed. How a customer is treated matters! We recently moved to the Nokomis area and had been to this restaurant a few times. We arrived last night around 5:50 PM and requested a water view or in the back section since the outside bar area is closed. We were told 5-10 minutes. We went to bar to wait and went up to hostess stand after about 20 minutes. We were told a few more minutes and after over 30 minutes went up again. We were told they pushed 2 tables together to accommodate a larger party. We waited another 10 minutes and decided to leave. At a certain point one loses their appetite. Not sure about all of you but we want to be treated like an appreciated customer. read more

The first dinner was good, service was slow but they had not been open for more than a month so we dismissed some issues as they were still settling in. The other two follow up visits were horrible. The food was ill prepared, the service was slow and follow up to our table was never made. I had to get up and get my own silverware even though I had stated there was none on the table. Even tho I used the "call ahead seating" myself and my in-laws who are in their late 80's still had to wait for 30 minutes for a table. The 2 young hostesses seemed confused and inexperienced. Our waitress was good. Our meals came at all different times, and to be honest they weren't that good. Steak fries were undercooked the "jumbo" baked stuffed shrimp, which was the "special" was seven tiny shrimp with a half tablespoon of stuffing. Not impressed at all! Took my wife to celebrate a great week and left feeling like we wasted our night out. Crab dip is amazing. Staff is good. Food was bland and "over hyped". "Jumbo stuffed shrimp" is misleading. I've had bigger shrimp in a seafood salad. The fish and chips was flavorless, unless you count the taste of old oil.
