We really like the interior of this restaurant, and the vibe, but the service is way way too slow and the drinks are way way too weak. We've tried it three times with the same outcome. Management needs to make some changes because it takes too long to get a drink or get food, so the place looks busy, but most of the tables do not have full drinks, and though the drinks look good,and taste good, it feels like they are short on the tequila. Our hope is they address this as part of the minor tweaks after opening, as we look forward to spending time there in the future. read more

We came in for a late lunch at Pig Latin, after dining their and bringing clientele and guests multiple times. After the experience today, we will NEVER return and ensure we share with everyone we know not to patronize Pig Latin until they improve their customer service and management. Three of us dined (80 yrs old, 78 yrs old & 58 yrs old) ordering the Classic Burger and Chili Relleno's. We were served the Pig Latin Burger instead of the classic which had many items in it that were not palatable. When the waiter came back, he was made aware that the wrong burger was served. He said he would only charge for the Classic Burger; however, the burger was not enjoyed, partially ate and not acceptable. The waiter offered to discount the $22 incorrect burger to the price of the $16 Classic burger. And did not offer to bring the right burger at all. The burger was not consumed!!! The waiter was leaving shift, and the new waitress didn't know what had happened. We shared with the new waitress we were not ok with the charging of a burger that was never ordered. The waitress had the manager on duty "MO" come to discuss the issue. She asked vague questions, including did the waiter come back and "ASK" if the food was acceptable. Our 80-year-old friend was honest and said she couldn't remember. This is when "MO" said she had to side with the waiter in discounting the price vs not charging for the burger at all. The discounted price to $14 for a burger that was full of items that were not acceptable to the patron is unacceptable. Customer service is horrible and hope that others will share as this is not the first we have heard and seen of the smug and defiant attitudes of this establishment. Definitely not a culture of class and customer service for retention of clientele. Will not return until ownership gets control of the attitudes and wrongful treatment of their customers, including horrible choice in management and management style. read more

New place is fun and the room by the greenbelt is beautiful. Want to love it but the menu is very odd. Not sure how New England clam chowder, chicken noodle soup and lamb lollipops are Latin fusion. Our tacos were fine but not special. Unfortunately different taco fillings cannot be mixed. Seems like Pig Latin would greatly benefit from cutting the menu in half and doing many things better. It's a great addition to the area so hope for improvements. read more

The halibut street tacos were very good. My wife had the filet that she said was one of the best ever and the kiddo had a quesadilla (lol) she's a picky eater! Our Service was exceptional from start to finish. The ambience is interesting. We enjoyed it and it's different depending on the section you are seated in. We went on a Saturday night and didn't have a reservation! My mom is 80 and asked if there was a way we can get in and they accommodated us. The food was good. We had the risotto puffs, halibut tacos and clam chowder soup! The spicy margarita could be more spicier(add more jalapeños). Two managers came and checked up on us which I appreciated! The fact this place has only 3.4 stars is baffling! The ambiance mixed with the eloquent nod to the Latin culture thru the beautiful decor do not come close to the utter delight that is their cuisine. The carnitas, carne asada and chicharron tacos are criminally delicious. You can't skip out on the tres leche cake for desert.......all the flavors mixed together are simply sensual.......it was better then sex! Our server Hannah was absolutely the cherry on top of our dining experience. She anticipated every need made sure our drinks were always filled and the food came out with such hast. I've never wanted to dine and dash from a place so bad. The service was terrible and I get that it was packed for a Tuesday night, but the decency to complete an order instead of walking away mid-order would be nice. The food was overpriced in my opinion. I ordered the lamb chops, which didn't come with any sides (idk why restaurants are doing that), and it was tasting alright but not worth $35 for 4 small tiny lamb chops served in a bowl. The skirt steak my friend ordered was also pretty expensive for the few pieces of steak brought out, again with no sides because you have to order it for extra $. It took about 15 minutes for someone to take our order to begin with, and another 15 minutes for our cards to be run at the end of the meal. The restaurant was extremely loud and I couldn't even hear anyone talk at our table. The outdoor patio area was extremely cold and we were freezing the entire time. The drinks were overpriced, not even full to the glass, and barely any alcohol in it. Overall, the atmosphere was too hyped up on social media and I wouldn't dine here again. read more

Both times we had Morgan taking care of us so we may be a bit bias but she has gone above and beyond both times to make sure we are taken care of. Ehh. Went about 2 weeks ago and met friends. It's located in an unassuming business park type area, and when you walk in the place looks awesome - artfully decorated, maximalist vibes - and honestly, that's probably the only great part about it. The problem with Idaho restaurants in the treasure valley is you see one social media influencer post about it, blowing it up, forgetting they usually get paid to promote it. Then you see all the other Boise influencers commenting on each other's post equally blowing it up, then posting about it themselves. It's a cycle with every new restaurant that pops up out here. Then they do their job and influence you to try it. So here we are- but in this case - I was reeeeealllly hoping this time they were right when it comes to the food and drinks. Well, yet again, they weren't. The food was subpar at best. I'm Mexican, grew up in Los Angeles - and say what you want about that, but I have a pretty good idea of what good authentic Latin food and flavors taste like and this ain't it, even if they promote themselves as "anti authentic" or whatever their tagline is. My husband and I left with a $130 bill for 2 taco plates and a shared side of rice, a shared chips/salsa, and 2 beers each. Pretty steep when we both were left feeling like what did we just pay for? I got the carnitas, he got the carne, and both were super bland and drowning in the salsa - which was mostly what you could taste. The meat didn't have much flavor. Our friend got the chicharrone tacos and thought they were bland as well. Our other friend got the chimicurri steak and we tried it and it was at least better than all the tacos. The beans in the salsa platter straight up tasted like canned refried beans, and the chips were pretty stale. Bottom line, the food left nothing to be desired, except a refund. The ambiance was cool and the service was good, and honestly I'd come back just for that and some drinks. But as far as Latin or Mexican food, I'd rather hit the drive through at Sol de Jalisco on Chinden for a fraction of the cost but quadruple the flavors. Boise influencers: dude, please just keep it real instead of saying every. single. place. is amazing. Me and others: listen to these yelp or google reviews before wasting money on another restaurant that every Boise influencer made a reel about and said it was the best ever. For trying to rival barbacoa they are not successful. The food was mid, drinks are extra just for the instagram. The vibe carries most of the restaurant if you're into the club/vegas restaurant vibe but gosh the service just sucks. If management changes I'm sure it could get better. read more

We made a reservation 2.5 weeks ahead of time. We were sat in a very strange isolated area with no atmosphere and so far away from the main restaurant that you could even hear the music or people. I asked if we could move somewhere else or even wait for a table to open up and all the hosts just kept saying "we know those tables suck, I just don't know if we can move you". So we decided to sit at the bar, no big deal. We ordered a drink after waiting awhile and although they were beautifully presented, there was literally NO alcohol in them. Both of our drinks were $15 glasses of juice. After sitting there for another 20 minutes and no one to get our food order, we decided to close out and leave. The entire time we were there, there were open tables so I'm not sure why we couldn't be seated there since we did have a reservation. Anyways, I think they have some fine tuning to do before we'll be back. Drinks need work especially for $15 each, and the weird area in the back definitely needs either a revamp or to be made into a private room or something, because right now it feels like a hotel lobby. We aren't ones to leave without ordering, we were super disappointed since we were so excited to try! read more

The atmosphere is pretty great, especially the covered patio. I could see hanging out here in the summer when it all opens up. Our experience was kind of under whelming after we entered and enjoyed the vibe. Food is expensive and not very good. The drinks are fine but nothing you can't get at any bar anywhere. We had the elote ribs, maybe 5 ribs in total that were overcooked and dry as hell, a sprinkle of cheese and not much else, $10 and probably cost them 50 cents to make. The shrimp tostadas were drowning in tapatio hot sauce, couldn't taste anything else. Tapatio isn't even good hot sauce and it destroyed the dish. Ahi poke was fresh yet bland, small portion for $17. Beef empanadas were at least somewhat ok. The filling was well seasoned and flavorful but the empanada was a little to thick and hard. I would come back to try the tacos and some other things but I would mostly come for some drinks and the vibe. read more

Went there last night and left very disappointed mainly due to their lack of service. We sat at the bar and the bartender completely ignored us. Had to ask the 'bar back' person to get him to serve us. A young person who brought our food didn't notice that we didn't have utensils and I had to ask for them. He then brought a one napkin with two sets of utensils. I guess we were supposed to share the one napkin. Also, the servers kept bumping into my chair as they walked by and when I stood up one actually bumped into me without saying a word. They are lacking details when training their staff and really need to work on them. Sitting at the bar, I saw several servers taking meticulous time to measure the right amount of alcohol in the glass as if their lives depended on it. Also with that, it's disappointing to get a draft beer that's only 12 ounces for the price they charge especially when your server does help you in a timely manner. I don't think they can stay in business long term with this lackluster service and non focus on customer satisfaction. read more

The first time we came to Pig Latin we enjoyed the cocktails and ambiance, however the apps were subpar, but wrote it off to new biz growing pains, specifically the risotto balls tasted like Campbells chicken soup, pretty much inedible, the chips and salsa were fine. Cocktails were tasty and pretty, but weak, really tasted more like a virgin beverage at $16-18 per, incredibly overpriced IMO. We tried coming back a second time and lets just say I may not be back again. This time sat at the front bar, our bartender was less than friendly, we requested a specific cocktail and the ingredients were not as requested, when the bartender was asked about it, he was very rude and not accommodating for round two, very much that alterna coffee house barista with a chip on his shoulder attitude, additionally the $17 dollar drink which was a mixed cocktail only filled half the glass. We ordered food, the plate was dropped with zero utensils, took a few minutes for the bartender to notice, but of course WE had to ask and wave him down, the people next to us were eating the same thing with their bare hands, short ribs, and using the cocktail napkins because they were also not provided utensils. It really wasn't overly busy, plenty of staff standing at the bar doing absolutely nothing. Our finished plate sat for at least 30 min, no one cleared and again, MANY staff members horsing around doing nothing. Not sure this place needs that much staff if the majority of them are not even working. Owners need to check that behavior and give some pointers on customer service, provided they even know what that looks like. You are lucky enough to be an a place where there is not much competition for now, but I'll be going to Crave next time I want a $200 date night = one app, 4 cocktails. read more

Most new restaurants have a high hurdle to overcome . Customer expectations are high , the staff is new and the pressure is on. Surprisingly Pig Latin delivered. We were greeted by a friendly waiter who was knowledgeable about the drinks and the food. Drinks could have come out a bit faster , but they were all different somewhat complex yet beautifully executed and very tasty. Appetizers were delivered very fast and were good. The food was ordered and delivered quickly. Lam chops were some of the best I've ever had, street taco (a pretty standard item in many restaurants) were excellent and had a huge amount of flavor. Steak with chimichurri sauce was med rare , full of flavor, perfect seafood tacos were also top notch. All in all it was a great dining experience and the price was right for the experience. If there was a negative it was the booth, they'r strongly shaped and a bit small . You feel like you're a bit squeezed and the tables seem an inch or two short. My next trip I will ask to sit in the green house at a regular table. It's nice that Eagle ID has another great place to dine read more

This place has a wonderful finish out in decor but sadly that doesn't mean a thing if the food isn't on par! It also very difficult to find, the entrance is around back! We felt that the cocktails and food were just ok. We ordered a few different cocktails and felt that they miss the mark. The drink presentation is good but sadly they are trying too hard by throwing everything but the kitchen sink into them. We ask for a Carajillo with just Liquor 43 and espresso and they refused to make it, yet they had drinks with both those items in them!?! The food is bland and lacks flavor. The Elote corn app was set on our table with no directions on how to eat it. Everyone at the table is caught trying to cut it up only to find that the husk is included so we were all quite puzzled til the waitress stopped by and we had to ask. Again the seasoning on this dish was just alright. The Asado tacos were very bland also. With the noise level being extremely loud (they had a DJ) it was not a place we would return to any time soon.
