Haven't eaten here in a few months. Menu got smaller and the place has changed, it's not what it used to be.

So after my life-changing birria burger experience, I came back to try the Chicken Parmesan Pizza (another pop-up item), and I'm so glad to say it was (unsurprisingly) - FANTASTIC!! The chicken was seasoned perfectly, the ricotta had a lemony twist to it, and the basil and mozzarella complimented everything perfectly. Yet another 10/10 experience!! I love it here!! read more

Best burger in town. The chicken parm with the Sunday sauce is really great too. Most of their specials, which change every week, are also *chef's kiss.* My favorite specials are the birria burger, the Picuban, and the empanadas. Everyone I recommend this place to love the food. The staff is always friendly. On weekends it can be crowded (because it really is that great) and the interior is small with limited seating, so plan ahead or plan for a wait. I usually order to go on their app after I check out the pictures on their Facebook page, but I've eaten inside a couple times. They just renovated and it looks so good. As a big fan, I wish they were open for lunch at least on Fridays. We can only hope that maybe one day. Until then, don't pass this place by if you get a chance to stop. Smash Burger was probably the best burger I ever had! Juicy, but held its shape the whole time, perfect amount of cheese/grilled onion/mustard aioli--it was just *chefs kiss* I originally came to get their hanger steak (SOOOOOOO GOOOOOOD) but forgot their menu rotates. No pasta or burrata this time. I was craving a burger so I looked up on Yelp "Best Burger Near Me," and Picone popped up! I'm a sucker for smashed burgers and the pictures sealed the deal! I told my family we were going on an adventure to try out a new to us place, and we are all so glad we did!! All of the food looked delish! Iffy price, $19 for a pasta plate, but food was really good at-least and good portions. Dine in was a bad experience, basically just took it to go after the food came. Brought a friend and my mother here to try and it was hard to enjoy it when we are all heavily glazed in sweat and mosquitoes are biting us... I felt bad bc I made the plans and they had to sit through that. Not like I'm living there, but still, no one likes a sweaty date/family dinner. People aren't exaggerating when they say the food is great here. Yeah, the offerings are somewhat limited, but whatever they offer is done really well and delicious. The BEST burger in Denton without any doubt. The employees are friendly and seem to enjoy working there. Just one negative....keep your damn hand off the thermostat. The outer room was cold enough to hang meat in while the main room was about five degrees warmer. Ten minutes later it went from too cold to too hot, five minutes after that it was back to cold again. Pick one temperature and stay with it. read more

Surprisingly amazing, fresh pasta and Italian food in Denton, in a hole in the wall type spot! I ordered the meatballs and rigatoni pasta and it was very flavorful, the pasta was cooked Al dente and the meatballs were meaty like it was sirloin beef. We eat here EVERY WEEK if we can. It always hits, never misses. I have 0 complaints about any of my food I have ever ordered. As a cheese lover, I get the burrata everytime. Its the best burrata + the fresh toasted bread and whatever sauces are on the plate (Idk what they are but they are out of this world with the bread and cheese ok). We usually always get one of the specials - which are always fun and delicious. They have their specials on the menu for you to see in restuarant but they also post them on instagram daily so we keep our eyes out. But if you aren't feeling *special* the chicken parm is a staple on the menu, taste good and is a great portion size! I can't count how many times we've eaten at Picones and everything is always delicious. Burgers are fab and potatoes with it are tender and crunchy with great flavor. Chicken Parmesan is so good. Awesome stuff, all the way around. Semi-rotating, seasonal menu, so call ahead to verify if thats important. They offer dine in and take out at the moment. Meatball grinder w/ basil gremolata, vodka penne with pancetta, papas bravas (amazing fried potatoes), burnt carrots w/lemon ricotta, and tiramisu all have been great. Call me pedestrian but the grinder is still my #1. Best part is its a bunch of dudes cooking with their hearts, and it all comes out in the food. Flavor 10/10 pretentious BS 0/10.
