I have been wanting to try Picone for a long time and I am so excited to say it was worth the wait! We stopped in and were greeted right away by the friendly staff. I really like the Counter Service style they have here as it makes the whole experience super casual with great food. We started with the burnt carrots which were outstanding. Super flavorful and the delicious Ricotta really added to the experience. For entrees we had the Chicken Parmesan with Sunday Sauce and the Chicken Parmesan with Marsala. Both were outstanding, crispy, and cooked perfectly. Outstanding restaurant and I am already excited to come back! Highly Reccommended!

I went here with a friend after going to downtown Denton and this place is amazing. The server at the front was super cool. The menu rotates frequently and the food was absolutely delicious. I would 100% come back when having to drive through Denton.

This place SLAPS like I need to go back and try so many things, everything was soooo good and their social media is hilarious and great advertisement because I want to go in and try it all! Love the experimentation with food! I wish I lived closer to Denton to try more often but I'd like to try to get up here once very month or so if I can for when I see something they're advertising that I really wanna try. Delicious Italian food - hole in the wall. The surface was very friendly, they were very nice about getting us to go plates. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. It's a small but select menu, with daily special. Worth checking out.

I had been hearing about Picone for a while from my son who attends UNT in Denton and we finally went today. It's a modest building with a comfortable dining room that was bumping good tunes. We ordered wayyyy too much food because we wanted to sample some of the starters such as the burratta and the crispy potatoes. The bread that went w the burratta was awesome and the potatoes were insane! apparently they boil, bake and deep fry them and they put this delicious pickled aioli on top that made it really pop. My wife had their caesar salad and came away impressed. I had what I was told was their house specialty their chicken parm picatta and it was delicious. The cutlets were perfectly fried and the noodles were cooked al dente. Super nice dish. Will definitely return to try their smash burger. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone.

I've been going here nearly once a week since they opened up the store front about 4ish years ago. Next to Osteria il Muro, this is the absolute peak of food in Denton. Michael and the front of house staff are absolutely amazing, friendly, welcoming and extremely accommodating in any instance where there is a need for that. The food, like I mentioned, is absolutely top tier thanks to Chef Tony and his food crew. Absolute artists as chefs and the thing that makes you keep coming back as much as I have is the creativity and huge range of dishes that are constantly being rotated through week by week. Sadly for my love of this place and these people, I'm moving up to New York state so this may well be my last time here, but if there is ever a time I'm near Denton and this place is open, you bet I'll be heading here. This place absolutely deserves your attention and patronage as well as this 5 star review and all the praise I can possibly heap onto it. Please come here to eat some amazing food. Thank you to Michael and Tony as well as the rest of the staff I've gotten to know over the years!!

Customer service was really good at this location upon arriving the guy at the counter was very welcoming and explain the menu to us. He was also honest in the description of items and answering any questions that we had. My friend and I both ordered the Smashburger which comes with crispy potatoes and some type of fry sauce. Our wait was incredibly long for two smash burgers. That was the only bad part about our experience because we were super hungry however, it was definitely worth the wait. The Smashburger has two patties and has a great amount of sauce within the burger and love the sweet/salty pickles that I was able to add to the burger as well . It was well seasoned & not the heaviest burger, which I appreciated in the sense that I didn't feel gross after eating. It had the right amount of cheese and the sauce was perfection. Our crispy potatoes could've been less crispy in my opinion where I would've appreciated tasting more potato than skin. And I did feel like my portion of potatoes were on the smaller side. If you are visiting Denton, I would definitely make this a visit on your itinerary. I definitely think the smash burgers are popular for a reason.

Burrata was delish! My fiancé described the Alfredo parm as tasting lemony almost soapy. The parm was nice and crispy though. I think what happened is they might have warmed the Alfredo sauce after my piccata bc after I tasted it, I discovered it resembled my sauce. He's not a fan of piccata so he had the chicken. The pasta was a little too firm for our preference. Wouldn't order either again but will try them again since after we left there was at least 10 parties waiting. Parking is definitely an issue, only about maybe 15 spots. All were taken when we arrived and they weren't even full inside yet. Seating is very limited as well.

Tour of Picone, the chicken was tender, the lasagna was unique, and the noodles were cooked to perfection with a white sauce.

Once you get over the lack of ambiance, the service (counter order) and food was great! The burger was very good. The potato a nice change from traditional French fries. The Tour of Picone was nicely presented. The chicken was a hit, lightly breaded and the chicken was juicy and tender. The lasagna was unique and very tasty, the noodles with a white sauce were cooked perfectly. Would definitely recommend and looking forward to trying something new next time.

I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT!!!! The outside will throw you off but the food inside is BOMB. I've been a few times and the service is consistently on point, it's a cute little spot. Food is high quality. The tiramisu is KILLER. Definitely recommend

Me and my brother and kids went here to try their famous burger , we got there around 845pm , my brother and his daughter ordered 1st , then when it was me and my 2 sons turn someone came out from back and said they were out of burgers so we could only get 1 , that was disappointing but I was like hey I guess it can happen so we order the chicken cutlets with Alfredo and pesto and we also ordered a cannoli . The person that advised there were no more burgers said to give us 50% off and I guess the cashier did not hear them bc our total ended up being about $90 which was pretty high , food came out and from what I saw the burgers we did get were good but not great , decent burgers but really nothing special , the chicken cutlets were good not great and we did try to pack up quickly bc it did seem like the restaurant decided to close early due to no more burgers so we got everything to go and as we were leaving we realized we never received the cannoli , which was fine bc at this point we just wanted to go home so we asked for the refund and they said no we will make it so we had to wait 5 more min just so they wouldn't have to refund us $8 for the single cannoli which once we got it was also nothing special. I say service wasn't that great bc we didn't get the discount for the inconvenience of not being able to get the burgers for everyone and for not receiving our dessert on time and really no one we overly nice nor really mean or rude but just like the food it was just okay , was it worth the money , not really , would I go again , not really but that's just my experience and maybe you will have something better .

I wish this place was not so far away because I would love to return to try ore of the menu. It was a surprising and flavorful experience that I would want to try again. From burgers to perfectly cooked chicken parm to guava empanadas, Picone does not make sense but does so much right. Although not perfect I was more than pleased.

Picone at 702 S Elm St, Denton, TX 76201 I really don't even know how to pronounce the name of this place but you should be here right now eating . I followed them on social media and it's so interested in seeing the guys bring out a different entree option throughout the week. I got in here to enjoy the brisket macaroni and cheese and the smashburger with them side of potatoes. That I literally devoured before I could even get home. My only regret today is I didn't order a triple order of those potatoes. Next time I go there I definitely want to eat inside and try more options. This is instantaneously one of my favorite places to go to in this city.

Drove past it once and had to come back. Definitely didn't look like a restaurant from the outside. But I am glad we circled around because the food was amazing. Got the smash burger and the arancini... both were perfect. And the fried potatoes were crunchy and went well in the sauce. read more

I can't attest to the ambiance or the service because my husband went in and got it to go while I stayed in the car with our newborn, but the smash burger with the crispy potatoes and the Alfredo chicken parmesan were both really delicious! The prices are a bit on the higher side when you compare to the size and atmosphere of the inside (from what my husband said), but they are generous portions so you absolutely get what you pay for! Can't wait to come back and try it when we can eat inside. read more

Wow wow wow. You order at the front go find your table and chill. Very good. We got the chicken Parm and burger. I was so excited to eat my burger, I couldn't even get a clear photo. So after my life-changing birria burger experience, I came back to try the Chicken Parmesan Pizza (another pop-up item), and I'm so glad to say it was (unsurprisingly) - FANTASTIC!! The chicken was seasoned perfectly, the ricotta had a lemony twist to it, and the basil and mozzarella complimented everything perfectly. Yet another 10/10 experience!! I love it here!! read more

Smash Burger was probably the best burger I ever had! Juicy, but held its shape the whole time, perfect amount of cheese/grilled onion/mustard aioli--it was just *chefs kiss* I originally came to get their hanger steak (SOOOOOOO GOOOOOOD) but forgot their menu rotates. Best burger in town. The chicken parm with the Sunday sauce is really great too. Most of their specials, which change every week, are also *chef's kiss.* My favorite specials are the birria burger, the Picuban, and the empanadas. Everyone I recommend this place to love the food. The staff is always friendly. On weekends it can be crowded (because it really is that great) and the interior is small with limited seating, so plan ahead or plan for a wait. I usually order to go on their app after I check out the pictures on their Facebook page, but I've eaten inside a couple times. They just renovated and it looks so good. As a big fan, I wish they were open for lunch at least on Fridays. We can only hope that maybe one day. Until then, don't pass this place by if you get a chance to stop. You won't regret it! read more

Picone has the it. Culinary swagger... the drip.... insert the italian equivalent here ____. I knew at first Instagram sight - that I had to go. For round 1, the American side. No pasta or burrata this time. We ordered: *BURNT CARROTS *SIDE CAESAR SALAD *BACCIAGALUPES BURGER *STEAK 'N TATERS *CHEESECAKE (which I think should be called Jammer Cheesecake) Everything was delicious. Bussin bussin ya'll! Bet! Those taters really surprised me. Never seen them like that. Service was on point. I really dug the retro vibes of the building. Worth a trip up for sure. read more

I was craving a burger so I looked up on Yelp "Best Burger Near Me," and Picone popped up! I'm a sucker for smashed burgers and the pictures sealed the deal! I told my family we were going on an adventure to try out a new to us place, and we are all so glad we did!! All of the food looked delish! They even let me bring in my own Gluten Free bun and holy cow this burger was next level! I got the sweet and spicy with the bacon jam and I will be back for another one!! I live an hour away from Denton. AN HOUR. But I love hanging out there and every time I do.. I AM STOPPING BY PICONE!! This place has everything *Stefon voice* Good prices Friendly staff AND BEST OF ALL THE FOOD IS HANDS DOWN AMAZING EVERY TIME I AM HERE AND THE PORTIONS ARE HUGE!! Iffy price, $19 for a pasta plate, but food was really good at-least and good portions. Dine in was a bad experience, basically just took it to go after the food came. Brought a friend and my mother here to try and it was hard to enjoy it when we are all heavily glazed in sweat and mosquitoes are biting us... I felt bad bc I made the plans and they had to sit through that. Not like I'm living there, but still, no one likes a sweaty date/family dinner. This was a month ago and I just forgot to add the review. Again, great food though! I'm sure it's a better experience now that it's cooling off. read more

People aren't exaggerating when they say the food is great here. Yeah, the offerings are somewhat limited, but whatever they offer is done really well and delicious. The BEST burger in Denton without any doubt. The employees are friendly and seem to enjoy working there. Just one negative....keep your damn hand off the thermostat. The outer room was cold enough to hang meat in while the main room was about five degrees warmer. Ten minutes later it went from too cold to too hot, five minutes after that it was back to cold again. Pick one temperature and stay with it. read more

Surprisingly amazing, fresh pasta and Italian food in Denton, in a hole in the wall type spot! I ordered the meatballs and rigatoni pasta and it was very flavorful, the pasta was cooked Al dente and the meatballs were meaty like it was sirloin beef. Other dishes looked amazing as well and if I ever come back to Denton, I will definitely come here again! read more

We eat here EVERY WEEK if we can. It always hits, never misses. I have 0 complaints about any of my food I have ever ordered. As a cheese lover, I get the burrata everytime. Its the best burrata + the fresh toasted bread and whatever sauces are on the plate (Idk what they are but they are out of this world with the bread and cheese ok). We usually always get one of the specials - which are always fun and delicious. They have their specials on the menu for you to see in restuarant but they also post them on instagram daily so we keep our eyes out. But if you aren't feeling *special* the chicken parm is a staple on the menu, taste good and is a great portion size! Im also usually not a big to go fan bc its sloppy or soggy but they do a great job with their to go orders as well read more

Step 4: Name every roll after either a volcano, a ninja, or an apocalypse. Komodo Loco apparently looked at that formula and said, "Nah." This place has actual character. The restaurant is dark and cool without feeling like you're being interrogated. There are cozy little nooks everywhere, and somehow it manages to feel both laid-back and upscale. Like if a speakeasy and a sushi restaurant had a child who grew up with excellent taste. Then the food arrived. Look, I've had plenty of sushi. I've had good sushi. I've had "my friend won't stop talking about this sushi" sushi. Komodo Loco belongs in the last category. The fish was incredibly fresh, but what really stood out was that the rolls didn't all taste like slight variations of spicy mayo negotiating with cream cheese. The flavors were genuinely original. We ordered the Crispy Rice Bites, the T-Dub Roll, and the Horacio Roll based on our server's recommendations. The Crispy Rice Bites were so good I briefly considered ordering a second round before I had finished the first. The T-Dub Roll disappeared from the plate so quickly that I suspect it may have violated several laws of physics. The Horacio Roll was one of those dishes that makes you stop talking mid-sentence and stare into the middle distance while reconsidering every life choice that led you to not order two of them. Which brings me to our server: Breann. Or Breanna. I apologize for not knowing which one. In my defense, I was busy entering a committed relationship with sushi. My daughter is moving to Denton, and since we don't live here, we asked what we should order. Breann/Breanna immediately became the Gandalf of menu navigation. There was no hesitation. No "everything is good." No vague server diplomacy. Just confident recommendations that absolutely delivered. She was kind, funny, helpful, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. More importantly, she made my daughter feel at home in a city she's about to call home. As a dad, that meant a lot. I also loved how Komodo Loco celebrated Pride Month. Not because restaurants have to weigh in on everything, but because the atmosphere simply communicated: "Hey, you're welcome here." And honestly, that's one of the best things a restaurant can do. Good food fills your stomach. A welcoming place fills the room. Komodo Loco managed to do both. So yes, I'll be back every time I'm in Denton. My daughter thinks she's moving here for school. I think she's moving here so I'll have an excuse to eat at Komodo Loco several times a year. One of us is probably right.

The shrimp diavolo was better with plenty of nice shrimp and well-prepared pasta. It was all absolutely swimming in the runny sauce, however. Needed a soup spoon to keep up with it. If this restaurant were in my neighborhood, we would go now and then, but it is a few miles away for us, so I see no reason to ever return.

Graffiti Pasta specializes in unique, delicious cocktails. There are no beers on tap (just cans), and my husband would have liked to have Peroni on tap even if that were the only choice. I enjoyed two of their cocktail which were both excellent. Our food was delicious and just the right amount of food. We left the restaurant satisfied without feeling like gluttons. Their stuffed mushrooms with filled with a creamy ricotta, the Banksy's Baked Ziti was delicious, and the homemade spaghetti was a special treat. I loved the build your own pasta options, And OMG at their rolls! SO good! Everything was wonderful and truly made for a great dining experience. It might have taken a while for us to find Graffiti Pasta...but we will definitely be back soon!

The vibe at Picone is amazing! I've always heard great things about this place, and I'm so glad I finally got to try it. It definitely lived up to the hype. I had the chicken parm vodka pasta and it was so good--super flavorful and cooked perfectly. My husband ordered a burger and he absolutely loved it. The food here really hits the mark. The only downside is that the space is pretty small, and since everyone loves being there, it took a while to get seated. But honestly, it was worth the wait. The atmosphere is cozy and energetic, and the staff was super friendly. No regrets at all--this place was awesome. Great food, great vibes, and definitely somewhere I'd come back to. read more
