After a long stressful day with work, school & kids we decided to order pick up sticks. We were looking forward to eating some "good" Chinese food. I ordered a combo with, broccoli beef & Orange chicken. We also ordered a side of egg rolls. I have to say that my husband and I had never been before and really don't like the food at Panda. When someone recommended this I was so excited. Sadly the food was horrible. Everything was soggy and apathetic looking. I didn't complain to the manager since I've hear all the horror stories. Prices are high and I wouldn't have a problem paying for quality food. Sadly, I probably will never come back to this location. I am not a fan. :( And I like MSG-laden Chinese food. I am a HUGE purveryor (albeit not recently) of Panda Express, so I figured this would be similar. Let's just say, it's not. I got the combo with kung-pao beef, crispy wontons, and chow mein. The beef was okay. The wontons were a little less than okay. The chow mein was completely not what I expected. The sauces were really strong, and I had nothing to flush them with. At Panda, the chowmein is fairly "clean." It has veggies in it and a mild flavor. This chow mein was only noodles and they were soaked in a strong sauce!!! They were tasty, but combined with all the other sauced foods, I was dying for some plain noodles or some white rice! My friend got the wontons that everyone loves. I'm seriously not a huge cream cheese fan, unless it's on bagels, or in the form of frosting. Mmm...frosting. That's just me though. I absolutely hate cream cheese in asian foods like sushi, etc. I also tried the wonton soup. Dear Pick-Up Stix Los Altos Store Owner: I purchased a take-out order of Chicken Chow-Mein on 12/22/18 at 6:30 p.m. from your Bellflower store in Los Altos/Long Beach for my 7 year-old daughter, and this piece of sharp triangular glass hit the roof of my her mouth. After seeing the tears and pain it created I began to freak-out. After getting her to spit it out I began to think she may have already swallowed other pieces. I immediately called and reported it to the shift manager Jessica and I was not offered a replacement meal, but I did get a refund..after I had to demand it, and having to hear initially from her that glass in the meal it wasn't possible. I started going here with my parents a little while ago. This place was the go-to pick up Asian fusion fast food we'd get whenever we had some family over or were just looking for a quick dinner. A couple months ago I asked my boyfriend if he wanted to try it and he said he doesn't go here because his dad said it was expensive. So I brought him here and I ordered him the house special beef (which is not on the menu but they will make it) with steamed white rice and with cream cheese wontons. This is now a place I frequent about once or twice every two weeks. The food is great quality, tastes fresh, and always leaves me satisfied. Another thing I love about pick up stix is that I can always call ahead and order and just pick it up when I get there without having to wait for my order to be cooked on the spot. This was for a dinner I had on July 23rd that I had delivered through Postmates. I guess I should start by setting the scene. This was a Sunday after birthday celebrations at Gallagher's Saturday night. I'm already off to a bad start here aren't I? After several vodka sodas, a whiskey shot with a pickleback, and a couple "mind erasers" (TIP: don't order one of these ever), I set myself up for a pretty awful Sunday. The reason I'm telling you this is because when one is hungover, one's standards for food quality tend to lower significantly. I don't need a Michelin star at this point, I don't feel good and I need greasy filling food to make me feel better. Fast forward to the next day around 5pm and I've been sitting on the couch for hours binge watching Sex and the City and generally feeling pretty sorry for myself and the state I'm in. If you don't watch SATC, they order a lot of Chinese takeout. I think maybe that's a thing in NYC in general? Idk, but I was influenced and Pick up Stix was the closest place. So I decided to order their orange chicken, chow mein, and cream cheese wontons. Sigh. I don't know why I was expecting anything better from this place, but it was awful. The orange chicken was soft and mushy and lukewarm. Idk about you, but if my orange chicken is going to be fried and then covered in sauce, I at least want there to be a satisfying crunch on the outside, then warm tender juicy chicken on the inside. Well, there was no crunch. Just soggy, room temp sadness. Chow mein? If you can call it that. When I was in elementary school we learned to make "chow mein" by mixing ketchup and mustard together then tossing the noodles with it. And this may as well have been that. Nothing in it, just noodles. Sauce was bad. The noodles were bad. It was just bad. Cream cheese wontons were fine, hard to mess those up. If we're going to compare americanized Chinese food, Panda Express has better ones. By the end of this meal I felt even worse about myself and the day as a whole. I didn't even finish half of either dish, and there was no way I was going to keep evidence of my regret in the fridge. To the trash cans outside it went. This restaurant gets 3 stars because we were sick the next day, I do not want to blame it solely on the establishment due to the fact it took 2 hours for our food to arrive through uber eats (poor communication and irresponsible driver). The sitting time could have easily been the contributing factor. The experience my boyfriend and I had getting this food was horrible and I totally understand that is not the restaurants fault. With that being said, the food was pretty good after waiting 2 hours. I hadn't had Pick Up Stix in literally over a decade and decided to try this location out of convenience..wow was I pleasantly surprised! As a vegetarian, I often have to compromise taste when I order at restaurants. However, I was so pleasantly surprised to see many vegetarian options! I loved the Kung Pao Tofu and felt that the lunch combo was a great deal. The service was fast and the employees were very sweet and had me feeling relaxed. I ended up receiving an unexpected phone call and had to cover my dish for 20+ minutes (literally had only taken a few bites ) and when I opened it it was still warm and delicious! I was soo impressed with their to-go packaging. I hate having cold soggy food and that was far from what I experienced, even 30+ minutes after I ordered the food! Giving 5 starts because not only is the food good, but the customer service is phenomenal. I ordered food off of postmates and when it was delivered super late, we realized that some of it was missing and also eaten. I called the restaurant and they were more than willing to replace the items that were missing even though the manager was certain that some were packaged for delivery. When I came to pick it up, I decided to reorder the rest of the items because we did not trust the postmates order since it was clearly eaten. The manager, Tony, was incredibly kind and helpful and even threw in some free chocolate covered fortune cookies. My son and I came in to order food to-go. There was only 1 cook and 1 girl working the cash register AND preparing all the call in orders. I felt so bad for the girl who was working alone. Today I received a call from the other manager of the Bellflower store and she not only apologized but followed they with what the other manager had said he would do. This is why I continue to go to this Pick up Stix location. Thank you. The only reason i'm giving this a two star review is in hopes that the manager that was on duty at the time will follow through with his promise. I had placed my order via the online process and as usual I ordered my pad Thai chicken with no carrots and no peanuts they have never ever gotten this wrong and I also order the house chicken with brown rice well I went to the Bellflower location picked up my order because it was ready on time like always same with the Lakewood location always on time always correct well I guess you can't always bowl a perfect game and this proves my point. I come home open up the pad Thai and notice bean sprouts are missing which means that they have gotten the order wrong. Well I take a bite and sure enough there are peanuts in the pad Thai which totally ruined it. PI don't like peanuts; yes there is a peanut sauce but I don't like to eat peanuts in my food so I called the store explained what I didn't like and he said no problem I'll send you some free entrée coupons it is been a week now and still have not received my coupons. It's bad enough I didn't eat dinner that night.... well let me rephrase that...bad enough I paid over $17 for a meal I didn't get to eat but to only have toast and jam for dinner was a total bummer then not to receive your free entree coupon is a real slap in the face so now I'm only giving you one star cause I'm f'n pissed and starving. read more

We can meet in the middle at the common table area. But, If you go to Pick-up stix, you'll arrive at the table with your friends DEAD LAST!
