I'm so sad to write this review. We have been going to the place for over a decade and I think we just had our last visit. Everything has really gone downhill. Where in the past you were given a carton with the food item in it, they now place the protein item in the same container as your "side" (rice, noodles) so the sauce is all over everything and it is impossible to share the way you would normally do with Asian takeout. It seems like corporate probably thought this was a "smart" way to make the portion smaller but trick you into thinking you are getting the same amount of food. On top of this the food was soooo salty and extra sweet at the same time (more than Asian takeout should be) and really the food wasn't good enough to justify the tiny portions with high price tag. The only redeeming quality was that the staff was friendly. read more

YELP 100 CHALLENGE 2017 - PART 2: 68/100 Hubbers was thrilled to learn there was one less than 2 miles away from LGB! I was, of course, excited for him. After all, this is one of his favorite spots! We decided to order cream cheese wontons, 2 house special beef (spicy), garlic shrimp and Chinese chicken salad. Got the entrees with an order of brown rice, white rice and noodles. Everything for takeout. We knew it was gonna take a minute since everything is made to order. It's not like we were in some kinda rush, so no biggie. The food smelled amazing in the car. It's a good thing home was less than 20 minutes away. This is probably the third Pick Up Stix joint I've visited and I gotta say all three are pretty consistent. The beef is still bomb. The garlic shrimp is also delicious, and just like the other two spots, there's that disproportionate ratio of shrimp and vegetables - a ton of veggies, a few pieces of small shrimp. (I might just stop ordering this. Hardly worth it.) First time trying the cream cheese wontons. I'm normally not a fan, but these were not bad! Even better with the sauce! Chinese chicken salad was also delicious, but I've had better. Ditto with the noodles, but I must say it was pretty tasty. Service was great. Packaging was good - the food was still hot when we got home. Overall okay experience. 3.5 stars for now. Hubbers might just be flying into LGB much more often now. read more

One of my dad's best friends just died. So we asked him what he'd like for dinner and sadly, he said Pick Up Stix. They used to pack proteins in Chinese food cartons, now they give you way less meat and shove it in a tray container with rice. The chicken dishes we got were...okay. But the beef and broccoli and house beef were both dry, chewy and basically without sauce. The place has gone down hill over the years, but this experience has turned my family off of Pick Up Stix completely. Maybe other locations are better, but I doubt it. I'm also up at 2am writing this because I feel gross after the meal. Don't bother eating here. Find a local Chinese spot to support that isn't a weak chain that cuts corners. read more

Pretty good food, order takes a bit, they cooking it for you, so hold the fck up, if you want it right away, go panda Express.. that's crappy food there. Meanwhile, order the Asian lettuce cups, carb free and tasty. It's got chicken and water chestnuts along with bean sprouts and carrots. Tasty and good for you too. I ain't a noodle guy, nor rice guy no more, that shit gives you diabetes.. take it from someone who knows. Most Asian restos ( restaurants for those with no street cred), are dangerous for diabetics, caro syrups and high sugars in their sauces.. them Chinamen trying to kill us all.. I been to Chinese restos that have on the door "we no use MSG in our cooking" idgaf ( "i don't give a fck" you're going to get edumacated more than Snoop Doggy in lingo) about MSG in cooking, I'm worried about D O G used in cooking!) This use to be one of my families favorite take-out places. I had never had an issue until July 6th. I called in a pickup order a little after 8pm. I realize they close at 8:30 but I had done this a few times before and never had an issue. My hubby went in to get our order and said it wasn't quite done but that's not the issue. I spent a little over $45 for 2 orders of the House chow mein and 2 orders of the House fried rice. The meat ( beef, shrimp & chicken ) in both order was either so over cooked or had been sitting there from the day before. The shrimp was so dry and hard it was inedible. I literally spit out the 1st bite. I was so upset!!!! My son and hubby ate it because frankly they will eat almost anything but I was so mad I couldn't. Sadly to say I ordered takeout from your Bellflower location in Long Beach and it looks worse than prison food. I am pretty sure I'm done with you and you have lost a customer. Well I havent eaten at pick up stix In many years..after getting home and starting to eat I suddenly remembered why..lol Food is just boring and yuck.the won ton soup is a good item..cream cheese won tons..good..but their rice is dry..bland flavorless it hasnt changed in all these years..lol They do have some new items like wild caught salmon..it looked good but I didn't order that. I got the crispy honey chicken which isnt crispy when you order it to go and it gets in the to GO BOX AND U GET HOME ITS JUSY SOGGY.i think perhpas sticking it in a different container would be great..I ordered the veggie feast..u cant screw up that but again no flavor..I took the rice out of the container when I got home..re fried it added more eggs and threw in some left over chicken and a pinch of Chinese 5 spices doctored that rice up!!..tasted way better..but I shouldnt have to do that..lol..they should just make better food I do believe when luck up stix first opened it tasted better..what happend asking the way with its growth..I really dont know..anyway ...I think the food is terrible.
